About this apartment rental
A Romantic Getaway for 2 !
"Cayman Snuggle Beach" is a spacious, private 1 bedroom apartment is located on the ground floor / beach level of a large 3-storey house in the East End of Grand Cayman. It walks out directly to a stunningly beautiful white powdery sandy beach, lush with vegetation and palm trees, right on your doorstep. Lounge chairs are on the beach and there is great snorkeling right off the beach!
You have the option, for a slightly higher fee, of making it a 2 bedroom, 2 bath apartment, based on availability. You can, however, just rent it as a 1 bedroom apartment, we will just lock off the second bedrooms and bathroom.
If you need yet another bedroom, we ca
n add one more bedroom and bathroom, again there would be an extra charge.
NOTE: IF YOU BOOK FOR 4 PEOPLE, YOU GET THE 1 BEDROOM APARTMENT AND THE PULL-OUT SOFA BED !!! YOU DO NOT GET THE 2 BEDROOM UNIT. IF YOU WANT THE 2 BEDROOM UNIT (if available) YOU MUST CONTACT ME TO ENSURE AVAILABILITY.
This apartment has been freshly painted and decorated in a colourful, Caribbean theme. There is a new, king-size bed with headboard, beautiful tropical comforter and colourful Caribbean artwork on the walls by local artist, Nadine Brown.
The large living room has a pull-out sofa. The kitchen is fully equipped with a full-sized fridge, stove, microwave, coffee maker and all cutlery, utensils, dishes. Lovely dining table that sits 4 people.
The views from all windows are spectacular. There is an 8 foot wide by 30 foot long patio with lounge chairs, and the piece de resistance is the built-in circular hot tub overlooking the Caribbean Sea at the end of the patio.
Less than 5 minutes away is a public beach, a grocery store, a liquor store, a large souvenir shop, two dive operators (including Ocean Frontiers, our recommendation for experienced divers), a lively beach bar with great food, and "The Barefoot Man" playing 2 nights a week at the Reef Resort (a must see! He has over a dozen CD's out -- a really fun evening -- packaged as a Dinner/show ). Also 2 minutes away is The Italian Kitchen, or in the other direction, Tukka Restaurant -- don't miss their fabulous Sunday Brunch!
If you are a couple, or small family, and want a peaceful, serene, tropical laid-back atmosphere and privacy, this is the place for you. Anything you need to supplement your stay is just a short drive away. However, there are only few places in the Cayman Islands where you can walk for miles without seeing other tourists -- just your own footprints in the sand!
Also, it is assumed that if there are 2 people, you want the 1 bedroom unit, or 1 bdr plus sofa-bed. If you use "Instant Booking" through VRBO and there are 4 people, you will get the 1 bedroom unit with the pull-out sofa.
Extra bedrooms CANNOT be booked through VRBO, just the 1 bedroom unit. If you want 2 separate bedrooms, then you MUST contact me: Firstly, to see if it is available, (it also attaches to another unit). Secondly, for instructions how to fill out the reservation form in order to get the additional room and bathroom added.
When you book an additional bedroom the rate jumps as the additional room has a separate air conditioning unit [and full bathroom] and that is essentially what you are paying for --- the extra electricity usage and higher cleaning fee. The rate is $500 a week more during low season, $700 more during high season. (plus taxes).
Our calendars are right up-to-date, so if you are interested in the 1 bedroom version, feel free to go to "Instant Book" rather than asking me if it is available. If it shows it's available -- then it is available. :-)
NOTE: OVER THE CHRISTMAS HOLIDAYS THERE IS A MINIMUM 7 DAY STAY.

Great place to stay away from the crowds on the west end of the island. Beautiful sunrises on the east end!

We enjoyed our stay at Snuggle Beach. The property is very cute. The private beach was great with coconut palms, plenty of beach chairs and kayaks. Snorkeling was good right under the pier in front. The hot tub was relaxing and looking at the stars and seeing the Milky Way at night was a plus.

Beautiful property. So close to everything. Very clean. Had a bad encounter with a fellow tenant. The area is for all to share. It’s not just for one group who thinks they can do what they want because they know the owner.

Beautiful views and location
This spot can’t be beat! Calm, serene. Beautiful sunrises and a sky of stars at night. Great snorkeling right off the best beach on the property that we have stayed at on east end. Quick walk to morrits or Wyndham for drinks and morning coffee. Onsite laundry is super handy, kitchen appears to be recently renovated, nice appliances. Thanks so much for a wonderful stay!

Fantastic place to stay. Awesome views. Only issue we had was not being able to lock the door.

Beachy Cottage
Snuggle beach truly is a beach cottage, beautiful view, private, and quiet. We stayed a 8 nights and felt like we could leisurely get ready for the day enjoying coffee at the patio or on the beach. We spent our days enjoying our private beach front, reading, kayaking or snorkeling or we hit the road and enjoyed many parts of the islands trying new things. The cottage is located close to many restaurants and a few stores and it only took about 20-30 mins to get to any location on the island....and we saw it all. We really enjoyed having the kitchen as we enjoyed leisurely breakfasts, cocktails and created a few carribean meals. To top the evening, a relaxing hot tub was enjoyed. Snuggle beach had everything we needed for a week of fun in the sun.

The perfect spot for us. We will be back!
We've been to Grand Cayman 4 times prior to this visit and Snuggle Beach was our favorite because of how wonderful her property is!

Great Property Nice Location
We stayed here for 6 days and enjoyed the Cayman Islands. Unfortunately, our beach was plagued with Sargassum Seaweed which was unpleasant. Most of the beaches on the East End had similar situation except for Starfish Point. Since we couldn’t stay and enjoy our beach we were able to explore and found some really great spots on 7 Mile Beach. Cemetery Beach is our favorite. Must try Captain Herman’s and Makabuka Restaurants. Get your gifts in town the airport shops are closed for renovations...major bummer. Looking forward to experiencing The Caymans again just without the Seaweed.

Relaxing beachfront location.
The accommodations are nice. The beach has a lot of sea grass that accumulates each day making it not so pretty. The snorkeling around the dock is actually some of the best on the island. The hot tub was very nice to have.

Wonderful time on the quiet side of Grand Cayman
My wife and I spent two relaxing weeks at Snuggle Beach, which is the first floor of a larger house. The five star rating is relative to the type of experience and price range, rather than a comparison to the $1000+ night properties that you can find elsewhere on the island. The full kitchen, separate bedroom, and bath provided a lot of space to spread out and feel like we were "home." The large patio just outside the door extended the living space. The highlight of the property is the beach that is shared only by the guests of the other three units on the property. Often we were the only people on the beach or patio, and had our choice of full sun or shade under the palm trees. We spent time reading, napping, swimming, snorkeling, and kayaking in the new boats that come with the property. We really liked the East End location, because we prefer being away from traffic and lots of people. There still were many places to eat nearby, and a basic grocery store and nice liquor store about a half mile away. We also enjoyed the proximity of the North Side and the Rum Point Area. Good times!

Snuggle Beach
A dream come true where you could walk out the front door and be standing on the beach. Far away from the crowds and noise of 7 mile beach but close enough that a leisurely drive could take you there.

Best Beach House Vacation!
First let me begin by saying what a wonderful time i had in Cayman and my choice of accommodation made it even more magical. The beach house was comfortably decorated which made it feel like home and waking up to the sound of the sea gave me such peace, just what I needed to start my day, the secluded "get away" feel of the property also helped me to just relax and unwind. Definitely choosing to vacation there again, and spending a longer time of course. :)

Cayman Paradise
Our first trip to the Cayman Islands and stay in this rental and we're already thinking about our next visit back to this lovely country! The rental was bright, clean, plenty of space for 2 people and the terrace with the HotTub was the best part! Watching wind surfers go by was peaceful and relaxing. We went fishing with Captain Herman at the Morritts (which we walked to along the beach) and caught barracuda which we BBQ'd for dinner when we got home. All and all, we are so happy with this rental. Sandra, thanks for providing us with such detailed info on arrival, where to eat, things to do and such. You made it a breeze for us! Hope to book another trip next year!!

Great Stay
We really enjoyed this rental on the East End of the island. The apartment is comfortably spacious enough for two and we spent most of our time on the patio or in the Hot Tub at night. The king-sized bed was very comfortable and the wifi worked well. Most days, we were out exploring the island -- you definitely need a car if you want to do this, the island is a lot bigger than we thought. If you're an early bird, you will love the sunrise, so beautiful and peaceful. There were 3 restaurants within walking distance and we tried them all, Italian Kitchen was our favourite. The grocery store is also walking distance. Having said this, you still need a car if you want to go sight-seeing (Don't miss Rum Point -- much prettier than commercialized 7 mile beach). Nadine was very kind and helpful, checking in with us form time-to-time without being intrusive. Sandra sent us a package of information before we came, which was also very helpful and we were able to plan our stay before we got there. All in all, it was a great stay and we wouldn't hesitate to book here again.

PURE HEAVEN!!!!!!!!!!
My husband and I spent a week here. Nadine is the most wonderful host! So beautiful inside and out. She is so warm, So so friendly, kind, easy going. She really cares about her guests and makes them feel so at home. The house is so private, the most amazing views of the ocean. It is far enough away from the condos so there is no one around. We kited right in front of the house, snorkeled saw tons of conch, starfish, barracudas, stingrays, turtles. The current is strong so best to walk up the beach and will carry you right down to the house.. It is a dream place to stay and I really really did not want to leave. I highly recommend this beautiful piece of paradise. You will be so happy you did!!!!!!

2nd Stay at Snuggle Beach -- and we'll definitely be back again!
We were here 4 years ago and loved it then, and finally got a chance to come back. We were pleasantly surprised to see that the apartment has recently been renovated, and now has a new kitchen with granite counter-tops and a new bathroom. It's such a peaceful and relaxing place and the beach is beautiful. We did a lot of snorkelling right off the beach and saw lots of fish and a stingray by the pillars. We could walk to a few restaurants (at the Morrits and the Reef and the Italian Kitchen). But you really do need a car because you would want to go to Rum Point Beach to swim with the stingrays or just spend the day on the lounge chairs. Loved "over the edge" restaurant, Tukka was "ok." Saw the Barefoot Man at the Reef, he's hilarious -- catch his dinner/show if you can. If you're coming in high season he sells out. Lots of watersports nearby too. Nadine & Gary were great hosts.

Snuggle Beach Vacation
Our trip to the East End started out a little rough as there were a few problems with the property when we arrived. The jets in the whirlpool tub didn't work and it obviously hadn't been cleaned in a while, the air conditioner in the kitchen/living room didn't work, the satellite wasn't working, the DVD player didn't work, and one of the bathroom faucet handles was broken which made it pretty tough to turn on and off. However, once we let Nadine (who lives right upstairs) know about all of these problems she went out of her way to take care of as many problems as she could right away. She replaced the satellite box and the DVD player that day and had someone out to replace the water pump for the whirlpool tub within a couple of days. Some of the other things didn't get fixed while we were there but it didn't affect our enjoyment of the place at all.
The living space is pretty much exactly what it looks like in the pictures, nothing fancy but very nice. The real reason we booked this place was because of the deck, whirlpool tub, and beach and we couldn't have been happier with those things. We spent a lot of time out on that deck just marveling at what an amazing view we were looking at. The snorkeling right off the beach was really great especially right around the dock where all the fish congregate. If you like Italian food, there's a great new place right up the street called the Italian Kitchen...the garlic knots are fantastic.
Overall, we really enjoyed our stay at Snuggle Beach. We've stayed in nicer places, but they were also a lot more expensive. You really get fantastic value for your money at this place and if you do have any problems or questions, Gary and Nadine are right upstairs and are always more than happy to do whatever they can to make your stay more enjoyable. So if you're just looking for a semi-private beach to relax on, catch some sun, and do a little snorkeling, I would definitely recommend Snuggle Beach.

Snuggle beach east end Grand Cayman
Disappointment #1: Upon arrival we were told that someone would be coming to work on the satelite tv shortly. I believe because the owners were switching service. Really the day we arrived? It seems like that could have been taken care of before we got there! The service people did arrive and the tv and/or internet both were out of service for the most of the remainder of our stay. They were at the apartment two more times before the problem was solved. The owners did apoligize and we did not complain because really what was the point. We were on vacation and did not want to get into a big stressful discussion.
We were also disappointed in the beach which was littered with trash and not good for swimming because of rocks and seaweed.
Lastly the apartment may have been freshly painted when they wrote the original description but it isn't now! I was so taken with the photos and the apartment does not measure up at all. Needless to say we would not stay here again or recommend it to anyone else! This propery is not what we have come to expect from vrbo.

Snuggle Beach Vacation
Great place to stay if you are looking for a quiet relaxing vacation! Thanks to Nadine for providing an awesome vacation!
Suggestions:
-Rent a car!
-Had fun going to stingray bay on waverunners
-We thought Rum point (15 minute drive) was just as good as 7 mile beach...if not better. We typically saw stingrays everyday if you walk down by the houses past the designated beach
-Morrits is a 15 minute walk and has a decent bar on a pier and we used their pool/hot tub and never had a problem
-Check out over the edge (along the way to rum point), good food, good view at reasonable prices for Grand Cayman.

So Relaxing ! Just what we needed!
We really enjoyed our stay at "Snuggle Beach" and went snorkelling right off the beach every day. Apartment was cute, very "Caribbean", but it sure would have been nice to have a dish washer. Plenty of room for one. Although the owners were upstairs, we never saw them after we checked in. Felt like we had the place to ourselves. Most days, we had the beach to ourselves. Was great to have BBQ's every day on the patio. Price extremely reasonable for Cayman. This is a hidden "gem" and we will be back for sure. One week was not enough -- next time we'll stay longer.

2nd Honeymoon
We wanted something quaint, quiet and romantic. The apartment was very spacious and cute, although a dishwasher would have been nice. Went for long walks on the sandy beach every morning -- most of the time, we were the only people in sight. Felt like we had the island to ourselves. Thoroughly enjoyed "The Barefoot Man" for our 10th Anniversary celebration. We could have stayed at "Snuggle Beach" forever. Next time, we'll come for a month. A week definitely is not enough.

June 13-20 2008 Trip
Not sure where to start in describing our trip to CI.
The accommodations were perfect and as advertised. If you are wanting to get away from it all, this is the place.
The service and amenities were first class.
This is one of the few areas on the island that has a beautiful sandy "virtually private" beach.
Snorkeling around the island was incredible. Just off the shoreline we seemed to step right into an aquarium...Tropical fish and bright coral everywhere. A sight we will never forget. Seven Mile Beach, Rum Point, Northside and right here at Snuggle beach are areas we would suggest for snorkeling.
We reserved with Captain Marvin's for the snorkel tour to Stingray City. One of the cheaper priced tours but was sufficient and well managed. Stingray City is a must see!!
I would suggest eating at Calypso Grill and if you like pizza, the Brick Oven Pizza at Grand Harbor.
We reserved our rental at Andy's. You will need a rental since the house is about an hour from the airport. Driving is somewhat an adventure if you are used to driving on the right!!
Overall, a great trip and well worth the drive to the east side.
Regards... L & R
