My dad and I stayed for 10 days and I don’t have a single bad thing to say about this cabin! Has everything you need, including a large deep freezer for fish on the deck. The hosts have quick response times and left fresh vegetables from their garden for us. Will be re-booking.

Jaci and Moose River Mike are great hosts. If you are looking for a truly Alaskan experience this is your place. Super friendly and easy to get along with. The cabin is the best. By god this guy has been attacked by a bear and lived nothing short of a great experience. I give them a 11 out of ten. Clean friendly and fun.

What a wonderful, authentic Alaskan cabin / chalet! Jaci and ‘Moose River Mike’ are awesome hosts: responsive and friendly if you need anything, but otherwise leaving you to enjoy the place as if it were your own. We caught sockeye salmon on the Kasilof and Kenai rivers and prepared fresh salmon every night! The kitchen, and the cabin, had everything we needed. (And Three Bears Alaska grocery/gas is just 5 minutes away.) The view of the Moose River from the big front windows is picture perfect. I also love that Moose River Mike’s Super Cub float plane was docked on the river, and you can read about some of his amazing adventures! We saw three moose just up the river, along with ducks and other wildlife. It’s amazingly quiet and peaceful, and if we get the chance to come back, would definitely stay here again. - Darren, Grace and Claire - Texas

Awesome Cabin
The cabin was amazing! So much charm and the authentic rustic look with all the modern amenities for a truly comfortable and relaxing stay. We had a great time watching the river thaw and and all the wildlife swim and fly by the cabin. The windows that faced the river was the best "TV" we watched in a long time. A wonderful getaway!

Alaskan Getaway
We had a fabulous stay. Mike and Jaci cover all of the things you'd need in a home, from a well appointed kitchen to the little details like robes and basic toiletries. The bed was incredibly comfortable. We chose to prepare nearly all of our own meals from the cabin. The river was beautiful to watch, the birds are always putting on a show and three moose walked through the front yard one morning as we were having coffee! We fished two days on the Kenai River and caught some monster Rainbow trout. We also drove to Seward for a Glacier Cruise and took a drive to Homer another day. Alaska doesn't disappoint with the snow capped mountains all around you. Our weather was great, 50's during the day, 20's/30's at night. We were prepared with the right clothing so it was a non issue. Layers layers layers! Hope to return again, will want to stay here, for sure! Thanks Mike and Jaci :)

Very homey and cozy. Enjoyed reading Mike’s notebooks. His kitchen cabinets were a bit too high for the normal person. Great supply of spices!

Quiet and Peaceful
Centrally located to explore Kenai Wildlife Refuge. Sitting on the porch, on the dock, or by the fire pit was very peaceful. The cabin is rustic but ideal for a family. Kitchen had everything you needed to cook. Close enough to Soldotna to pick up some groceries.

Quiet, clean, beyond accommodating
Mike & Jaci are beyond great hosts. The cabin is gorgeous, stocked with everything you would need. Definitely a home away from home. Quiet, secluded, gorgeous Alaska scenery, everything you would think of when you think of a cabin stay. This was our first time staying, we were not there 4 hours and booked another stay. Can’t wait to come back.

Peaceful Cabin
We enjoyed our stay at Mike and Jaci’s cabin. It was well stocked and had everything (more than everything) we needed. Stop at the visitors center in Soldotna to see the salmon fishing going on at the boardwalk. We enjoyed our day trip to Homer and waked the beach on the spit. We hiked near Skilak lake and saw some amazing views. The cabin has a grill for use and a place to clean your fish if you catch some. Very good location for fishing, hiking, and sightseeing.

This chalet is everything as advertised – a very nice home base!
Jaci met us as we arrived after a long day of travel. She gave us the tour and showed us around. This place has all the amenities you need in a home away from home. Jaci also told us to help ourselves to the greenhouse and greens she had growing. So nice to have fresh salad while on vacation! Enjoyed sitting in the hot tub after a long day – and the days are long in July ;) We also enjoyed using the canoe and kayak for a leisurely paddle on the river. We enjoyed our stay with Moose River Mike and Jaci - and loved all of the stories! We miss Moby and Good dog Dexter.

Homely property with lots of charm
We really loved this property. Owners, were helpful and made our stay very memorable. The carpentry and wood craft work of the cabin was a real joy to see. Reading stories of the owners adventures in Alaska wilderness added to the sense of the remote location and seeing the seaplane go off each day. We loved watching the birds around the lake and forest. A great stay overall.
The location was quiet yet 5 minutes from Stirling town amenities.

Peaceful & relaxing river-side retreat in Sterling!
My family and I truly enjoyed our stay here, for over three days, at this beautiful riverside setting. The cabin was comfortable, and fully stocked from the linens to full kitchen with utensils, sink, fridge, microwave and stove for cooking. The gazebo and deck were perfect for evening relaxation, watching boats go by or Mike’s daily take-offs and landings from the float plane dock on Moose River.
Mike and Jaci were wonderful hosts. Mike shared great stories about the place, various Alaskana findlings, decor and his travel adventures. The photo albums in the cabin, which document some of the resort’s and the owner’s history, are a must-read.
Jaci shared a delicious fresh green pepper with us from her greenhouse. The flowers are beautiful and many fragrant lilacs are in bloom. Two fun dogs on-site rounded-off the friendly setting.
Big Thank You to Jaci and Mike for the warm welcome and tour. We appreciate the hospitality! It was a joy to have such an at-home feeling in this lovely setting, as we were visiting for my brother’s memorial service. The beauty of nature and kindness from our hosts made it less stressful and more rejuvenating.
I’d definitely stay here again! 🌈☀️🌱

Everything you need
The cabin was wonderful! Comfortable beds and all the amenities you might need. Our favorite dinner of the whole trip was one in which we cooked our own fresh caught salmon on the grill. We would not have been able to do this at a hotel! We saw moose while on the property and Mike and Jack were very hospitable!
