GOOD HAVEN HOUSE
See more pictures, get area information, a link to our blog and an interactive map on our web site. The link is below, right under the CALENDAR button.
NEW FOR 2016! We've replaced the carpet with hardwood and tile floors throughout the house, completely remodeled our kitchen and added a 50" LED HD Smart TV and a bigger flat-screen tv in the master bedroom! New pictures posted here, and lots more on Flickr!
You'll find our well-loved family beach house casually furnished in comfortable 'Shabby-chic', 'Country-Living' cottage style. Relax and enjoy yourself - nothing is fussy or precious. Soothing colors, abundant warm sunshine, cooling breezes and life on the water close to nature are what this house is all about.
You'll also find many amenities in our home that you won't find in other vacation homes because we and our friends actually stay here as often as possible!
Our favorites include:
Family games, beach towels, sun hats, books, DVDs, cookbooks, tons of kitchen equipment to prepare and serve big meals, charcoal grill, and beach toys are all here for you to use and enjoy. Big chaise lounges to sun bathe, a shady porch swing, and a cozy chair by the fireplace for you to put your feet up for that very occasional rainy day are also part of the package.
All rooms (except the twin bedroom and the laundry room) have expansive views of Perdido Bay. Eight people can sleep comfortably on one king, one queen, two twin, and two sleeper sofas. Also two twin air mattresses for overnight guests or children.
All bedrooms have ample reading lights and ceiling fans and are comfortable places to curl up in for privacy. The master suite (king-sized bed) has its own private bath and the other two bedrooms share a bath. Both baths have tubs with showers. The master bath has a double bowl vanity.
The dining room table seats six and altogether with two loveseats, a huge coffee table and a big round folding table, we can seat fourteen or more in the open living/dining room indoors. Another eight can sit on the open bay side deck at the round wrought iron table with a big umbrella.
Good Haven House is on the shores of pristine Perdido Bay - about halfway out on Innerarity Point. Sun, swim, fish, crab, and snorkel right from the dock in your own front yard! You can also keep your boat, be it kayak, canoe, shallow draft power boat, raft, or jet ski tied up there as well.
Great outdoor spaces include a big sunny 50 foot x 10 foot deck (walk out from living room and master bedroom), 30 foot x 20 foot screen room, a shady patio area under deck on the bay side with a porch swing to while away hot afternoons, an open outdoor shower to wash off sand and salty water, and a bright balcony off the dining room.
The 60 foot private dock features stairs up to a sun deck with lounge chairs. At the end of the pier is the perfect place to renew and do your morning yoga or relax at the end of another perfect day and watch the sun drop down into Perdido Bay, one of the most spectacular sunsets on the coast! If you're lucky you can also watch the dolphins cruise by looking for their fish dinner.
Catch your own dinner right from the pier. Mullet (if you know how to throw a net), red fish, snapper, and crab are among some of the seafood we've caught out there.
A two acre yard for you to play ball, badminton, barbeque, have picnics, catch frogs, play hide and seek, and climb the old live oak with a good book. The kids can pitch a tent and have the thrill of sleeping out under the stars and being lulled to sleep by the waves lapping at the shore. There's also plenty of room for you to park your RV.
Located about 2 miles from 2 large grocery stores, a hardware store, a bait and tackle shop, 2 gas stations, and several family restaurants, and 3 miles to the beautiful beaches on Perdido Key, we're close enough to be convenient, far enough away for the peaceful serenity you come on vacation for.
Our property is a wonderful place to have your small wedding or as a venue for bridal or baby showers.
We welcome well behaved pets to come on vacation with their owners.

Good haven house
We enjoyed our week at the Good Haven House.! The whole house was very clean. The decor was an adorable cottage feel. Great views from the living/kitchen master and queen bedroom. The deck overlooking the water is large with a table to enjoy our meals and the view. We spent a lot of time on the dock/ sundeck just relaxing and watching the pelicans…. Don’t miss the beautiful sunset from the dock. The yard was huge and wooded/private. Susan was very quick answering any questions I had. Best part we were able to bring our dog along. Hopefully some day we’ll be back.

Retreat from Life
The property was as described and very quite with beautiful nature experiences. We had a large screech owl bust and a bald eagle, it was amazing! Thanks so much for sharing your home with my family and fur babies!

No screening
We liked the house; however the pictures and descriptions were not totally accurate. There was supposed to be a screened in lower level, but there was not. The screened in area was one of the main reasons we chose the house.

Cottage by the Sea
This was a truly a cottage by the sea type property. The first thing that struck us was the view of the water from everywhere in the house! The house itself was so comfortable and had a beach cottage feel throughout. We could have stayed here for a month. The dock was our favorite experience of all. Each night we would watch beautiful sunsets and frequently see dolphins pass by. We also enjoyed watching four pelicans dive for their catch right in front of us. Overall this was one of the most enjoyable vacations we have had..... thank you Susan for letting us enjoy your beautiful property.

Perdido Key Get Away
We had a relaxing, private stay close to restaurants, stores and beaches without the chaos of neighbors and crowds. Susan was great to work with and we are planning a trip next year!

Great Location! Wonderful home.
Beautiful views of the water and great quiet neighborhood. The location is central to Perdido Key, Johnson's Beach and close to Orange Beach/Gulf Shores. Updated kitchen, great deck and screened porch under house. Owner was very attentive and easy to communicate with. Dock wonderful for fishing, stargazing and just a great place to relax and enjoy the water. Hope to visit again someday soon!

Wonderful
The beach house was perfect for our family it was nice and cozy we had everything that we needed. The scenery at the bay was nice a little to windy and cold but we enjoyed the time we spent there. It was nice that we were able to find a beach house that allowed pets to come along on this trip.

A month of vacation at the Good Haven House
We found this home to be cozy, comfortable, clean and convenient for the two of us and our Golden Retriever, Riley!
The property is lovely. The long driveway made it safe and easy for our dog walks. We enjoyed multiple kinds of wild life - our pelicans, eagles, osprey, happy singing birds, fox and raccoon. The neighborhood, itself, is very nice and so convenient to the things we enjoy! We were near a great grocery store, three fun neighborhood restaurants, a fish market, a drug store, hardware store and a good golf course! Who could ask for more? We felt right at home.
The kitchen was well stocked with cooking utensils and serving pieces. The bed was very comfortable and everything worked as it should.
All in all, we had a happy month!

Made Thanksgiving amazing!
Wow! Everything about this home was amazing!! My 17 year old daughter is usually a critic and her first words were “wow, this house is gorgeous!l”. She loved her own room with a beautiful view. My chef husband brought lots of pots and pans to cook thanksgiving dinner for 12 people, and his words were “I’m really impressed by how much cooking equipment they have!” The only thing we could’ve used was more water glasses, but the ample coffee mugs worked well. The round folded table in the closet was a perfect Kids table too. My husband commented on how he was surprised about the essentials already there: salt, pepper, tin foil, saran wraps, flour, corn meal, spices, trash bags, etc. The MBR walk-in closet was a perfect size for our 2 year-olds porta-crib so he slept dreamy the whole time. I would recommend bringing a baby-gate for the stairs. The shabby chic decor and light colors made it so welcoming. The privacy from the road exceeded expectations. The view from every window was picture-worthy. My nephew came over and they played ball in the backyard for hours. We didn’t bring our puppies due to car travel, but they would’ve loved it here! My gaming teen setup his station beside the router and never complained of WiFi speed which is a small miracle. Cable TV gave us lots of entertainment options although the back deck was my favorite. We drove to the wharf for movies and mini golf. The beds were comfy and the linens were in good condition. We never needed a thing! Thank you so much for hosting our family for Thanksgiving! In turn we were able to host for my local elderly dad, and my military brother’s family. 💙❤️🇺🇸

Beautiful views.
Wonderful house on the bay. It was a little cold for water sports but nice dock with swim ladder. Lots of birds, a red fox and dolphins on several days.
Comfy beds and nice decks. Great restaurants and beautiful beaches a short drive away.

My Family Stay at Good Haven House
We were so looking forward to our week in Perdido Key at the Good Haven House, and it did not disappoint!
We experienced a very cozy & welcoming environment with everything we could have needed easily accessible to us in the home.
Our family consisted of 3 adults, 2 children and 1 furry child. The size and lay-out of the home provided ample space and enough secluded niches, that we never felt like we were in each others space when wanting some quiet down time alone in the beautiful surroundings.
We spent the days at Perdido Key Beach and then returned home to relax, grill out, do some evening fishing and watch the sun set over the bay. Very relaxing, reflective and therapeutic, away from the day time crowds.
I would highly recommend Good Haven House as your "Home away from Home".
My family and I will definitely return.

Breathtaking Views!
Our time at Good Haven House was amazing, fun, and incredibly relaxing. The house has breathtaking views out of all the windows facing Perdido Bay. We spotted frogs, birds, crabs, and even dolphins. The bay was not crowded or busy and we enjoyed kayaking in the evenings to ourselves. The house itself was clean and well stocked with towels, pots, pans, etc. There is a TV with cable in the main living area and in the master bedroom. The National Naval Aviation Museum is close by and home of the Blue Angels. If you are lucky enough to be there on the week they are practicing, it is amazing to watch. Lots of great restaurants and several grocery stores nearby. The property is located between Orange Beach and Pensacola. Susan, the owner, is a wonderful host and is timely with her communication. I highly recommend this quiet getaway!

Tranquil Perfection
Great experience. Needed a place for my family as I escaped Hurricane Irma. Susan could not have been more helpful and understanding. The house is perfection, with loads of space and the most peaceful, ideal setting overlooking the bay. Highly recommended.

Wonderful single family home on Perdido Bay made for the perfect vacation!
Clean, quiet, nicely decorated, well stocked and an attentive owner made staying here a true delight. Close enough to grocery stores, restaurants and the Gulf of Mexico to be convenient , far enough away to avoid the crowds and have peace and quiet, made for a wonderfully rejuvenating stay. Being on Perdido Bay, dolphins swam right by the pier a few days, so cool! We brought our kayaks and had a few nice day excursions, launched right from the yard! Kids fished from the pier. Drove 3 miles over to Johnson's Beach on the Gulf a few days also. We'll be back! Definately recommend!
