About this house rental
Charming 3 bedroom 2 bath 1600 sq. ft. home located on natural desert home site in central foothills close to all services but very private setting. Queen bed in master, single bed in bedroom 2, hide a bed couch in bedroom/den 3 plus hide a bed in living room. Separate formal and also informal dining. Covered patio looks onto natural desert rear yard that is very private due to backing to a desert wash with heavy vegetation. Two car garage. Stunning mountain views of the 9,000 ft Catalina's. Close by access to national forest hiking trails which our guests love.
We have just added this property to the list of VRBO available rentals. A minimum rental period has been specified in order to respect the upper end highly desirable location where the home is located. The rental rate is conservative compared competitive rates in order to attract longer term occupants. Hopefully we have provided an opportunity for winter visitor guests that is unmatched in terms of location, convenience, comfort and natural beauty. Tucson is much more comfortable during the summer than generally appreciated so we have adjusted the rate and will now offer the home during the summer months to the delight to those who choose to visit during this rare and enjoyable period of the year. If you reserve the home we will make every effort to make your visit as enjoyable as possible.

We loved the peace and quiet of this lovely home. Everything that we needed was available including extra sheets and towels. The outdoor patio was beautiful and where we ate our meals. Viewing nature from inside or outside was a treat too. We highly recommend!

Upscale neighborhood, easy to find, quiet, beautiful sunrises and sunsets, comfy home and yard, what can I say more? Even learned what a Javelina was from a neighbor on a walk.

Loved the location and the yard. We were visited by coyotes, owls, and bunnies. Great location for birdwatchers and wildlife lovers. Comfortable house. Host was very responsive to questions and requests.

Had A really nice stay at this foothills property. The backyard is incredible. Very wild. Lots of birds. Didn’t see any animals however, no, havelinas, no bobcats, no coyotes, although I did hear coyotes howling at night.

I wasn't expecting to travel alone so was nervous about picking a good area. This place was perfect. Safe, quiet, lots of close things to see and do. Back yard is fabulous.
I saw more birds and small critters here than I did in the state park. SUPER Clean. Chris replied quickly with tips around the area. Would love to stay again when I have some company.

Very happy with this stay, though there were some quirks to the property. Had a couple initial hiccups with the internet service, but the owner was very responsive and dealt with the problem quickly. House is comfortable, spacious and very homey to anyone who grew up in the 70/80's like me. Backyard/patio area was my favorite -- great place for morning coffee with lots of birds & the sunrise.

Perfect choice for our month in Tucson
If you don't mind being off the beaten path, this property in a quiet, residential neighborhood in the Catalina Foothills is a great choice. It's an older home, but all the "important" stuff works as advertised - kitchen appliances, heating, plumbing, etc. the backyard is an absolute desert oasis, complete with an array of birds and other wildlife. The owner was great to work with. I highly recommend this property.

Wonderful Backyard
Wonderful house with a great backyard. Great wildlife and bird watching. Very nice place to relax and enjoy the desert scenery. Wifi was great. We rented the house for a week and worked remotely and also did some hiking. There is a great trail just up the street that has very scenic views. We would definitely stay here again.

Bird Watchers Paradise
We just returned from a wonderful stay at this unique property. The backyard is a jungle of desert plants that the birds just love! By jungle, I mean that in the very best sense of the word! We were mesmerized by the constant bird action that took place from sun up till sunset. We were particularly thrilled to see the beautiful Arizona Cardinals. A couple of javalinas even wandered by one morning for another thrilling experience. This property is close to many hiking areas, shopping and points of interest. This home has everything you need for a great stay in the Catalina Foothills.

Great Location, Well maintained house
We had a very nice stay at this house. The location is great -- close Sabino Canyon and other fabulous hiking spots.
The house had everything we needed in it, was spotlessly clean, and very quiet. Communication was great. We particularly appreciated the patio, looking over the desert landscape, tons of wildlife to see and listen to.

Was a good place to base out of.
Stay was as described and shown in pictures. We enjoyed the desert quail running by in the mornings and fun desert cactus in the backyard. House offered what we needed in regards to kitchen supplies, wifi and general comfort. Was a good location for accessing what Tucson has to offer and with a nice view of Mt. Lemon as a backdrop.

Exceeded expectations!
Thoroughly enjoyed this open, spacious home close to hiking trails, shopping, dining and much more. House was very private, comfortable and well equipped, and afforded beautiful views of the mountains and desert landscape. The owner was readily available and proved to be an excellent source of information and history of the area. Would definitely stay here again!

Great location and back patio
Fantastic location being close to Finger Rock and Sabino Canyon for hiking. The back patio was a great place to hang out and enjoy the mountains. It was quiet and comfortable, a perfect getaway.

Great place, great visit
Chris was very accommodating and a considerate host. The house is gorgeous, as is the natural desert backyard—we saw a family of javelinas wandering by one morning! I’d recommend this house without hesitation.

Wonderful location and everything we needed

Desert Beauty
If you are looking for a beautiful and serene desert setting, just a few miles from the U of A, and around the corner from shops, this is your home. The house is very functional -- we cooked several meals, and had plenty of dinnerware and cooking implements (including two colanders!) available.
The property backs to a wash, so there were quail, lizards, and javelina in the yard. We also saw a roadrunner along with a number of other bird species found in AZ.
My daughters needed wi-fi for teaching and attending high school online classes, and the speed and range were more than adequate for the level of connectivity required.
I'd stay in this property again in a heartbeat because it is both secluded and close to amenities.

The Best of Both Worlds
Great location yet you feel that you are in the desert. You can watch the birds, the squirrels, the quail and much other desert Flora and fauna. Once in a while you might even have a javalena or
a herd of them visit.
The house is very comfortable although the bedroom situation is not quite as you might expect. The master bedroom is very nice with a wonderful view onto the desert yard. The other 2 bedrooms are at the front of the house. One of these bedrooms has a single bed and the other wehas a not so comfortable hideabed that more than fills the room.
The bathrooms are ok but in need.of remodeling.
The wonderful view of the Santa Catalina mountains is seen from the front of the house. There is a limited view of the mountains from the backyard.
The living room has a new 65" television with Netflix.
There is a spacious kitchen with a new refrigerator. There it is a nice informaldining area off the kitchen as well as a full dining room.
Chris is a wonderful host. He has graciously helped us every time we needed it.
For hardy hikers one of the best but most difficult trails is less than a mile from the house. Many others are close by. Also nearby are all the stores and restaurants you can imagine , a very desirable combination.
The bottom line is that we would definitely want to stay here again. We have had a wonderful time.

Catalina Foothills House
The house is in a very nice neighborhood with great views of the foothills from the backyard. The natural corridors through the neighborhood provided good wildlife viewing opportunities (javelinas, bobcat, birds). The house was clean and spacious with a good layout. The master bedroom bed was comfortable. The kitchen was reasonably well equipped; having laundry facilities and a garage were pluses.

Property is as advertised in a nice neighborhood in the Catalina foothills. Everything was fine and owner responsive. Only things keeping it from getting 5 stars is the master bedroom carpeting needs cleaning and the living room couch is a bit lumpy. Overall, would happily stay there again.

Comfortable home with awsome mountain views.
This home is located close to the Catalina Mountains and numerous hikes and the property was very natural, quiet and private. The beds were comfortable, the kitchen well equipped and the living room was large and a great place to chill in the evening. We enjoyed having the barbecue and patio tables in the back yard. As our stay was over Christmas, it was a very nice touch that the hosts had set up a small Christmas Tree in the living room for our benefit.

Great place
This house suited our needs perfectly. The back yard is amazing, with great views of the mountains. We saw lots of birds and a bobcat. The neighborhood is quiet, but it's very close to shopping and restaurants. Sabino Canyon, with great hiking, is only about 15 minutes away. The house is comfortable and the kitchen is well equipped. Nice to have a garage, too, where we could store our bikes.

Great Rental
Beautiful place to stay. Very close to the mountains. We hiked the Finger Rock trail up the Santa Rita Mountains which is close to the rental and saw a group of Javelinas! Will definitely rent this again when we are visiting my parents.

Very nice and comfortable home
This home was spotless when we arrived and the mountain views are spectacular. The location is excellent...minutes from many great attractions and very good restaurants.
