About this house rental
Jardines del Pacifico is a cozy residential gated community situated in a jungle setting; lush with flora and fauna. Casa 44 is only 250 meters from Playa Bejuco where you will be able to enjoy a beautiful “blue flag” beach (highest ecological rating) known for its surfing, clean beaches, and peaceful serenity. The ocean water is warm - around 82 degrees - year round. The dark sand, palm tree-lined beach stretches for miles and is usually empty, perfect for walks or runs on the beach, bicycle rides, collecting shells, or just enjoying friends and family. Playa Bejuco was just rated as a 3 Star Beach (only 4 out of 108 beaches in Costa Rica rated as 3 Star).
Playa Bejuco, located on the Pacific Coast side of Costa Rica, is conveniently situated within short driving distances to many of Costa Rica’s wonderous sights such as rainforests, mountains, rivers, waterfalls, beaches, and estuaries. You are only 1.25 hours from the San Jose International Airport, 40 minutes from the Manuel Antonio National Park, 25 minutes from the tourist town of Jaco, and 10 minutes from the quaint Tico town of Parrita.
Casa 44 is a spacious comfortable 2 story townhome that can sleep 6 persons. Casa 44 is fully furnished, freshly painted, and includes the following:
- A fully equipped kitchen with natural wood cabinets, refrigerator, electric stove, microwave, toaster, blender, pots and pans, glasses, silverware, etc.
- A large upstairs master bedroom with vaulted ceilings, queen size bed, flat screen TV, tiled master bath with double sinks and large shower, and private outside balcony with table and chairs.
- An upstairs guest bedroom with vaulted ceilings, queen size bed, wall mounted TV, tiled bath with shower, and private outside balcony with furniture.
- A large living and dining area with two sofas (one sofa is a convertible bed to sleep 2) , end tables, lamps, wall art, coffee table, TV, and dining room table.
- A 1/2 Bath is downstairs.
- Decorative tiled floors throughout the home.
- Decorative tiled stairway with wood handrails and attractive upstairs stairwell landing area.
- Ceiling fans in every room.
- Wireless Internet.
- Air Conditioning.
- Laundry room with washer, dryer and sink.
- Green space adjacent to the property.
- Outdoor shower with Privacy Enclosure
- Covered parking.
- Covered patio with BBQ and Outdoor Living space.
-Community Area with Outdoor Grilling, Bathroom, Seating, and Large Pool Area.
- 24 hour security with friendly Tico gatekeepers.
Jardines del Pacifico is kept up as a beautiful jungle type landscape with cobble stone roads. As you walk around the community, you will see jacaranda trees, palms, crotons, allamandas, heliconias, hibiscus, and other flowering plants. Besides the wonderful flora, you will also experience a variety of birds (including hummingbirds) and butterflies, along with 'feliz iquanas'. The trees in the community are frequented regularly by large multicolored scarlet macaws.
There is a bodega (mini-mart) located steps from our town home, and two beach hotel/restaurants a short walking distance down a road leading to the ocean. The restaurants offer excellent food at reasonable prices and are nice places to enjoy drinks at sunset.
There is also a large shopping center called Town Center located within 7 minutes walking distance with multiple restaurants, a gym, a grocery store, and many other stores of interest. All of the restaurants located at Town Center (and there are about 8 of them) have different types of excellent food choices at affordable prices.
Casa 44 and Playa Bejuco offers vacationers to Costa Rica a quiet retreat type setting, along with giving you close proximity to a lively tourist town (Jaco) or quaint traditional Tico town (Parrita). The people – both locals and tourists – are friendly and from a variety of lifestyles. Every day is a new adventure; leaving you with a lifetime of experiences that are good for both body and soul.

We stayed in Bejuco for 5 weeks in February 2024. The location is great. It is a quick walk down to the beach for sunrises and sunsets, often seeing monkeys, macaws, and sloths. The beach is quiet and beautiful for walking or playing in the waves. The community is very friendly and the guys on the gate were wonderful. We felt very safe. The air conditioning was perfect. Kaylor, our host was exceptional, checking in on us regularly and taking care of our one issue with the air conditioning immediately. He couldn't have been better. The weather was extremely hot during our time and me made good use of the beautifully shaded community pool to cool us off. We did most of our shopping nearby in Parrita a 15 minute drive away. There is a smaller grocery store that has most everything that is a 10 minute walk. We also went into Jaco a few times, a 30 minute drive. This place is close to Manuel Antonio National Park, a 30 minute drive. The accomodations were clean, spacious, and very comfortable for two couples. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here.

First we appreciate all the help we received from the management company. Esterillos506 very attentive and quick to help.
Neighborhood - location was great. Easy walk to the beach. Grocery store, restaurants and bars within walking distance. Felt safe in neighborhood. (Gated community with friendly employees).
Overall property was nice but could use some TLC. Water pressure in kitchen needed work and bedding (mattresses) needs upgraded. Regarding cookware cited in other reviews - we did bring our own frying pan since we prepare most of our meals when traveling more than a week. In addition, washing machine was not in working order which is inconvenient for longer stays.
Rooms were a comfortable size and it was nice having bathrooms on both floors. We would consider staying again but would appreciate the minor improvements.

We enjoyed the home very much we felt at home there. Very well equipped kitchen. Lots of towels and bedding. There was a leak under the kitchen sink, when we informed them 2 men arrived and sort of fixed it. Still leaked some. The washing machine did not work at all. And yes they need new frying pans, not healthy with the coatings coming off.
We would definitely stay here again. Great place. Thank you for the cooler, came in so handy
Yes we would

Water pump was not working and repaired the day before we left, so sometimes, no water at all in the house! The AC of the master bedroom was leaking down to the floor at the entrance. The manager came to fix it, after that, the water was leaking from the ceiling or our bathroom!!! We could not use our room, AC defect, slepted in the second room. The mattress was realy discusting!!! We tryed the sofa bed in the living room. This one was just horrible, feel every wires. Then, we switch the mattress from the master bedroom to the second room to sleep with AC. We definitively want a compensation. The management is not doing their job.

We very much enjoyed our time here. The house is in a community with approx 40 houses/townhouses and is in a gated secure neighborhood.
The place was clean and had everything you would need for a short stay or long term stay. We were there for 3 weeks and thoroughly enjoyed everything about it.
It is about a 10 minute walk to the most beautiful walkable beach we have seen - it’s good for surfing and for strong swimmers or wading at the edge but not for small children as there is a strong riptide. Everyone from the neighborhood and surrounding areas goes down to the beach to watch the sunsets which are spectacular.
The property management company was very responsive prior to us coming and checked in on us regularly throughout our stay using What’s App.
The only suggestion I have for the owners is that they have to provide the necessities of renting their home such as toilet paper, paper towels, dish soap and laundry soap. These were supplied initially however as we were there for 3 weeks there was not enough and we ran out half way through. When we asked for more we were told that the owners don’t supply more and we were to purchase our own??? Never have I stayed anywhere booked through VRBO (and we travel all the time) where we needed to supply basics such as those listed above. If you are going to rent your place you need to supply those items!
However when I pressed this with the property manager he immediately came over with the requested items. Again great customer service by the property management company to do the right thing :)
The pool that is for the neighborhood is beautiful with both sun and shade. Most of the time we were there no one was even there so it was relaxing.
Definitely would highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a quiet relaxing stay close to lots of day trips (Manuel Antonio, Playa Hermosa, Parrita, Jaco, Dominical, Rainmaker park and lots more).

Hosts were wonderful and provided a lot of info (without interfering with stay).
Loved walking the beaches. Was a NICE community (felt really secure).
Area was peaceful with beach pretty much unoccupied most of the day.
Would definitely come back ... Wife would actually like to purchase a place here.
That should say enough.

A small convenience store less than a block away
A nice restaurant also a block away with very nice food
The pool is fantastic very private , super friendly people in the complex which were mostly Canadians ,
I found the cook wear very poor quality and it should be changed out as it is now a health risk
As the coatings on the pans are pealing and not one pan is flat on the bottom ,
The pillows on the beds are very uncomfortable
These should be a hotel quality pillow
Other than that the place was really great , we would definitely stay again if they get better pillows
A very relaxing calm and safe feeling property to enjoy your holiday

Great time & great location!
What a wonderful vacation we had! My husband & were looking for a small beautiful beach town but also decent driving distance to some bigger cities. Walking distance to the Bejuco beach & great restaurants near by. Miaciol was an awesome host & we felt that we could call him for information or questions anytime. Our vacation was 2 weeks long and loved that this house was our home base. The community pool was also very enjoyable. Felt very safe and the security staff was very personable. Five out five stars! Very much recommend.

We enjoyed this property. It’s location made Jaco and Manuel Antonio accessible without the hubbub constantly. Quiet neighborhood and close to the best walking beach!

We can’t wait to come back.
This was a great hole base location for our family. We travelled north and south to several tours then spent time here at the beach or at the pool. The shopping centre and restaurants are close and my son loved to go there for ice cream every evening.
We are hooked on the Pura Vida life. We can’t wait until our next adventure.

Wonderful.
Wow. Debbie and Deems are incredible people. We were there a full month and they went above and beyond to make sure we were comfortable. I can’t say enough how impressed I was with them and the pure goodness of their hearts. Bejuco is small, but we liked that. We loved walking along the beautiful almost private beach every evening. There’s a small play set on the beach close by (at the white tent) and a yummy shaved ice shack. Twas a lovely place to stay!

Property was ok.
Costa Rica was beautiful. The area around Parrita was ok. The particular place we stayed was pretty far from anywhere. We had to drive to store, shopping, dining. No place to walk. Certainly ok place to just sit and read, not ok for a family or energetic travellers.

Just as described
Nice and cozy. Very quiet and friendly neighborhood. The distance to the beach is a bit of a walk. We chose to drive down. It was so beautiful and very few people until the weekend. Even then, it wasn't crowded. The owners, Debbie and Deems, were responsive and welcoming. Would definitely recommend this place to anyone. And Costa Rica, IT IS BEAUTIFUL!!! Cannot wait to go back.

Great Place!!!
Casa 44 was just perfect for us! We looked forward to sitting on the balcony off of the master bedroom each morning, drinking our coffee, and watching the beautiful birds.
Debbie and Deems were wonderful. Honestly, they made our first time visiting Costa Rica amazing. They went above and beyond to help us enjoy our stay. The Manson’s are a special couple, and we look forward to visiting their properties again in the near future. The location of the property in regards to others sites to see in Costa Rica was perfect!

Loved it
As previous guests reported we also found our hosts helpful and engaging. Their “what to do and tips where to go” pages were very welcome, we have never gotten these from any other HomeAway participant. Bajuca beach is a perfect location between Chepos and Jaco and driving is easy on route 34. Although it rained all day on our last day the sun came up shortly in the afternoon and presented us with a phenomenal 180degrees sun down.
Thanks Debbie and Deems!

Casa 44: cozy, calm, family-friendly and a slice of Pura Vida
This was my first time reserving a condo through VRBO, so I was slightly nervous about the process and tried to suppress my expectations. It was also my 10-year-old son's first time traveling outside of the United States, and I wanted him to be comfortable. When I came across Deb and Deem's property and read the positive and informative reviews, my instincts told me to go for it. I am very happy I did.
The reservation process was swift, as was communication with Debs and Deems. Debs e-mailed a thorough PDF full of useful information about Casa 44 and touristic offerings, including neighbor Rich's estuary tour. This was a beautiful experience and well worth the money. You must have enough time to plan it right with the tides, which are extreme and can take a toll on the shape and form of August surf (for those of you are bringing your boards in search of perfect waves).
My son and I had five days. The condo has everything a small family realistically needs to live and relax in Costa Rica on a budget for this time: spacious bedrooms, tile floors that are easy to sweep, nice bathrooms with energy-friendly lighting and hot water, great fans, a.c., a well-equipped kitchen with ample cutlery, big fridge, and a hot stove to make your own meals if you're not in the mood for the local offerings. Do take a night to try the nearby bar's arroz con pollo, as well as Hotel Bejuco's. They were delicious. The mini-market within walking distance provides affordable staples for quick cooking, and there's a burgeoning town center with a larger grocery store, heladería, art gallery, gym, and restaurants that serve comida típica. The grocery store houses a water station where you can refill bottles or jugs (beginning at 1000ml+) using your credit card. It's legit. If the goal is to escape it all, including the busy beach hustle and bustle of Jacó, Casa 44 at Playa Bejuco is an excellent place to settle in. The gated community houses a lot of expatriates who have a friendly relationship with the local ticos. If you're into waterfalls, ask for tico guide Josh, who helps lead hikes for Costa Rica Waterfall Tours. He's amazing. Since we traveled with 1 hiking backpack, 2 small backpacks, a rolling suitcase and no car, the washer and dryer came in handy. Would/will definitely stay here again.
Tiny cons: construction at the nearby home created minor noise pollution. Main pool was getting fixed. Gated communities may aggravate social tensions at some point. Earthquakes.

Loved our stay!
I can’t begin to tell you how much we enjoyed our time in Costa Rica & the House was awesome! Very close (walking distance) to the beach & shops. Great neighborhood, great neighbors. Clean. Safe. Lots of activities to do nearby. If we ever had an issue Deems was quick to resolve it. They have a great cafe right up th street...must check it out. Overall, we loved the house and the area.

3.75 on a 5 pt scale
The location is good- approx 30 min south of Jaco, and secure with a 24 hr manned gate. House is appointed well enough, though the refrigerator freezes everything which resulted in a lot of ruined food. The balconies and patio are nice, and the master bed is very comfortable. The hot water tank was replaced while we were there which may have been part of the low water pressure/lukewarm showers we experienced (esp in the master shower). And, apparently the AC is not to be turned down below 82.5 degrees- which is a little too warm for me. I think if I were to return to the area it is unlikely that I would rent this property again.

Wonderful home and people
Deems and Debbie treat their guests very well and went out of their way to make sure we had everything we needed. Casa 44 is a very modern, well furnished and spacious home. We did a lot of grilling on their huge propane Bar B Q and morning coffee under the covered patio listening and watching the birds became our routine. The beach here is awesome and the community pool always refreshing. We highly recommend this property, it was all as described and more.

Nice place in secure complex
Located within walking distance to quiet beautiful beach. Has everything needed for a good stay. Best to have a car to explore area haul toys and food and drinks to the beach. But we ditched rental car for 10 days and did fine. Good AC, TV and Wi-Fi

Feliz lguana = Feliz familia
Bejuco has a beautiful beach, my kids loved boogie boarding there! Iguana Feliz is clean and comfortable with a great community pool in a very safe and quiet neighborhood but none of these things compare to what really made our vacation great: Debbie and Deems! We've stayed in numerous vrbos in Latin America and they were the most welcoming of any! Don't miss Debbie's amazing bakery either! Thank you D & D for everything!

“Stayed 31 days at this ideal Central Coast Location”
Located in the small guard gated neighborhood of Jardines del Pacifica at the east end of Esterillos, this well equipped townhome is centrally located on the beautiful central coast between Jaco and Quepos, with easy access to both. Just a short walk to the sand is stunning, Playa Bejuco.
This 2 bedroom 2 ½ bath townhome ticked all the boxes for us, including AC, 2 TVs, Wi-Fi, safe, a well equipped kitchen, washer and dryer, BBQ, and covered parking. The owners, Deems and Debbie were very helpful. They live close by and instantly responded to any questions we had. We also felt safe, and the 24-hour guards were always friendly.
We often cooked at home, but also enjoyed the nearby restaurants. We had great pizza at the Town Center, and a delicious dinner at the Playa Bejuco Hotel our last night there.
I would highly recommend staying here, especially if you have previously visited Costa Rica and want a great home base from which to explore the central coast.

Pleasant experience
Debbie and Deems are wonderful and their home was welcoming and beautiful. Thank you for your hospitailty and allowing our family to create wonderful, lasting memories. We enjoyed our stay and could not have asked for a more welcoming experience from the time we arrived until the day of our departure. Debbie and Deems helped us with so many things that were beyond what normally be included in a rental from our transportation, to assisting with tours and food. The property is a short walk to the beach and resturants within walking distance. Thank you Debbie and Deems.

Great getaway at Feliz Iguana!
Great place to stay. All the amenities you could want - beach in walking distance with life guard, local pool, air conditioning, cable, Wi-Fi, stocked kitchen, barbeque grill, boogie boards, etc. Owners are very nice and right down the road in the gated community if you need anything. It's located in a gated area with guards that walk the community, very secure. Did the monkey tour - highly recommend. Great shopping in Jaco. Thanks so much!

wonderful vacation at " Feliz Iguana"
We enjoyed our stay at Debbie and Deems townhouse. The house was exactly like the pictures...the kitchen was well stocked with everything we needed, nice air conditioning on the warm nights and always felt safe and secure. The community is very lush with tropical foliage. On more than one occasion we saw a troop of monkeys down by the pool in the morning. Met some neighbors...all very friendly! Debbie and Deems are extremely hospitable and full of information about the area. Loved Bejuco beach!! Quiet and relaxing!!
Hope to return again.

A wonderfull vacation home away from home
We stayed at the “happy iguana” for one month at Playa Bejuco. The home was as advertised-very clean, comfortable & had all the amenities that were needed. Staying in a gated community was essential for us & we felt very safe during our stay. The home shows pride of ownership. We spent many lazy days on the back patio or at the pool or taking a short five minute walk to one of the most beautiful beaches in Costa Rica. Being centrally located, it is easy to travel to other parts of the country.
Debbie & Deems are super great people & made us feel very welcome to their community. They were always very helpful with regards to local information on shopping, places to visit & repairing our rental car after we had gone over some of Costa Rica's “not so great” back roads.
Thanks Debbie & Deems for making our stay extra special & we will see you again next year.

Wonderful home in a safe environment.Clean with everything you would need for a comfortable stay
Home was just as advertised. Clean and comfortable for your holiday stay.
Two bedrooms each with its own bathroom and balcony was a treat when traveling with friends or family.
I chose a gated community because I was a woman traveling alone and was so please how safe I felt.
Plenty of restaurants and grocery store within walking distance. That was important to me as I did not have a car.
Even a tiny farmers market on Saturday's selling fruit ,vegetables ,cheese and yogurt, baked goods and some shrimp.
Beautiful Beach was never ending.
Tide in or tide out plenty of beach to walk.
Did not like the scary waves but I had plenty of shallow warm water for me to play in. Boogie boarders and surfers paradise.
The owners live in the same gated community so we're always available if needed. Super helpful with local information. They were always there if you needed them.
House is immaculately maintained.
Had a wonderful experience at Cassa 44. Thank you

Beautiful Quiet location
Loved our stay at Feliz Iguana
Everything as stated in the listing is correct. Lots of room for the 5 of us. We enjoyed the quick walk to the amazing beach. Could not get enough of the beach and that it was so peaceful. The complex felt super safe.
The whole area actually felt safe. We would love to go back on day and would not hesitate at renting from Debbie and Deems again. They were available if needed but never felt like they were checking up on us.....thank you again for offering out your amazing home In a wonderful small community.

Perfect vacation home-away-from home.
The property was very well taken care of by the owner. Clean and comfortable. Located in a beautiful 'walk friendly' area; the community swimming pool nearby was terrific. Perfect location for a C.R. beach vacation. The owner was extremely helpful and friendly. She answered any questions immediately. Provided a wealth of information about the area, sightseeing, trips, etc. We definitely recommend this for a long-term or short-term vacation rental. We will certainly stay here again next trip to C.R..
