My family spent a week at the Tea Room Cottage and had a great time! The cottage was cozy but had plenty of room to fit all of us. We loved using the screened in porch for reading and back porch for having meals. The dining room table was also big enough for us to make a puzzle and play card games.
The shared beach is just a short walk down the road and was big enough for multiple families to enjoy the lake. The shoreline is a bit rocky but we made due with water shoes and once you get past the rocks the bottom becomes sandy.

Our group was 8 adults ranging in age from 20 to 94 with sufficient space to accommodate us all. The cottage is charming with a great outdoor deck which we utilized for some meals. Easy access to the beach is a plus.

My Family and I had a great time at the Tea House cottage. Weather was perfect. So much beach this year! Already planning next year 😎

Absolutely adorable home. Love location! Wonderful beach area. Took long walks every day, just a delightful place to stay and enjoy everything Douglas and Saugatuck has to offer. House is well equipped. ( Could use a can opener) . But overall, nice place to stay

Our first impression was how clean and well taken care of the cottage was. The layout is fun and quirky, which adds to the overall cottage charm. The screened in porch provided more living space and was a great retreat for our family to relax and enjoy. The cottage also had many amenities including a washer/dryer, dishwasher, grill, fire pit, deck, internet and TV as well as private beach access. Our family loved our time spent here.

We have been to Douglass and Saugatuck several times but this one was the best. In total it was my eight year old daughter, my eight year old nephew, my 17-year-old daughter, three of her childhood friends and myself. The size of the house was perfect! With five rooms, and everyone room having its unique look, the girls were able to choose a room and the little ones picked the room with the two single beds. The two bathrooms make it easy to take showers and hot water never ran short. The big dining area with the big table and the kitchen that had everything I needed to be able to cook made it easy make breakfast and dinner for all eight of us everyday we were there. We Couldn’t of been happy with the location. The Douglas beach is so close that at the slowest pace possible it is only 5 minute walk The teenagers were able to walk down the private beach access, put their blowup rafts in the water and paddle down to the Douglas Beach in a race, it was so much fun and great pictures. It was a great area to ride your bike or take the dog for a walk. The property has a nice size backyard for activities. Saugatuck State Park is a very, very short drive away and Saugatuck is maybe a seven minute drive. I couldn’t be happier with the location! I highly recommend this property if you’re looking to have a great family vacation!

This is a unique, rustic cottage with a charming history. Really enjoyed the screened in porch and back deck. Air conditioning and fans were very helpful in the heat. Beach access was down the street a bit with sandy path. We did not try to go down to the beach.

I have stayed in 2 other homes on Lake Shore Drive, spanning 30 years. This cottage reminded me of the others - perfectly vintage. Loved the “duck” sign to get to the kitchen under the stairs! (There are two other entrances).
The bathrooms worked great. The kitchen is big enough to maneuver in. Not hugely stocked so bring your own stuff if you’re picky. You have to appreciate the charm of this type of cottage. The rooms have thin walls and you can hear everything but that makes it more like adult camp!
Location is perfect! Great beach access. Will stay again for at least a week. Thanks so much!!

Once we figured out the lights (older house and user error) everything was great. I would do this again. I really liked the location, we were minutes from the beach, shopping and restaurants.

Our Family Loved the deck and the fire pit. Spent the majority of the time on the deck. You definitely need heavy duty bug spray. But fire pit helped keep bugs away. Sunsets were perfect. We walked down to the public beach to view. Loved the woodsy area. Would definitely rent again.

We enjoyed our 2 week stay. The beach is directly across the street. We especially enjoyed the screened in porch! We were a family of 4 and Grandparents. The house was large enough for everyone to have their own space.

A very lovely old fashioned Lake Michigan cottage. The beach access easement is a prime benefit of this place. You can walk to the secluded Douglas beach in less than 5 minutes, and stow your beach chairs and stuff along the edge of the walkway. The bedrooms and baths are small as you would expect in a turn of the century cottage, but worked out just fine for us. We loved the porch and the big back yard-perfect for the little grandkids who visited for a day. The cottage sits in the middle of the most beautiful neighborhood on the big lake by far, we took long walks every day both on the beach and along Lakeshore Drive. Highly recommend for families.

We had a wonderful trip visiting Michigan. The cottage was in the perfect location to enjoy the lake and be close to restaurants and shopping. The owners were very informative and always answered questions quickly. It is a great place to relax and enjoy the beauty around you.

Really enjoyed our stay here! A true lake cottage. The location right across the street from the lake and short drive to downtown was great. Would consider staying again in the future.

What a fabulous family cottage. It was the end of the season and so some unexpected difficulties arose. The owner was amazing in rectifying the situation and we will return.

We had a wonderful stay! This cottage is absolutely perfect for family vacations and has everything you need! Thank you for everything, and we will be back.

Lovely old house with plenty of bedrooms. Comfortable, casual, nothing fancy but all my family needed for a week at the beach. Short walk to the path down to the beach. Unfortunately a lot of erosion this year so not a big beach, but plenty for a couple of little grandkids to be able to play in the sand and have some fun. Nice neighborhood for evening walks and sunset views. Short drive to downtown Saugatauk for shopping and a day out. Good family spot, we will book again!

Great cottage and location, will be back again

We enjoyed the Tea Room on Lake Shore Dr. Great location, very close to Douglas Beach and other things. Great walking/biking neighborhood. This is an old historic home with the quirks and charm of older homes. They have clearly done work to upgrade the comfort. The sheets and towels are very nice, beds are comfortable. It is well equipped with essentials for comfort. It was too cool to use the porch much but it's a great screened porch. Deer regularly cross the yard. Renters may want to be aware there is no hairdryer (not on listing) and that the grill is charcoal, not gas. Neither of these were a problem for us. I would rent this home again.

We had a very nice stay at the Tea Room! Loved the location and found it perfect for a family vacation. Would highly recommend it to others!

This property was certainly ready for renters & everything in good order. Will definitely stay again

This cottage was so convenient! So many bedrooms and separate areas for children to hang out without waking others. The beach across the street was small but relaxing to visit and watch the waves roll in. We will definitely be back!

This is a great property in a super location. I would stay again!

We frequent the Douglas/Saugatuck area often for a couples get away and needed a place to accomodate a family trip. The cottage is darling, relaxing and fit all of our needs. We will definitely go back!

The inside was very nice with comfortable furniture. We loved the large dining room and the screened in porch. The back deck and backyard were another good place to relax. We saw so many deer in the woods behind. The young families slept upstairs and said the beds were great. Kitchen was fine, had most everything we needed and we cooked a lot.
Highly recommend.

Could not have been more pleased with The Tea Room. Not one moment of stress from check in to exit. Would gladly stay again.

What a quaint place with loads of character and charm! The location is wonderful, the home is quirky and fun, and we had a wonderful stay. The enclosed side porch was a favorite spot. Thanks for sharing your delightful place.

We couldn't have asked for a more relaxing weekend with the kids. Spent the mornings running along one of the prettiest stretches of real estate in the Midwest, then reading and talking in the sun room. Then we spent the days at the private beach and evenings playing in the yard or going to dinner in nearby Saugatuck. Both my wife and I said it would be the exact kind of place we'd like to buy some day.

We had a great week at the Tea Room. The cottage was the perfect fit for our family of seven. From Grand parents to Granchildren. We loved the dinning room that sat all of us with guest. Grilled most every night. Great back yard and screened in porch.
Short walk to the beach. Short drive to fun places to play and eat. Great bike riding all around the town.

We spent our summers growing up on the Lakeshore and its always great to get back! We rented the Tea Room Cottage the last week of July. My sisters and our kids enjoyed a relaxing, sunny week! This cottage is all you want for a week at the beach; great places for gathering, the dining room, living room, screened in porch, and the large back yard worked perfectly for our group. Lots of card games, beach time including sunsets, and great summer meals on the grill!

This is indeed a very vintage Michigan cottage. Path to small beach right down the road is lovely, screened porch is sweet. Beds-very uncomfortable. Baths-need updating badly. The kitchen is extemely basic and very sunny. We enjoyed our stay but glad we weren't planning on cooking. I would say overall-if baths and kitchen were updated and new beds were purchased it would be worth the price.

I stayed at the Tea Room for the Month of June this year. I'm a long time renter of this cottage and every year I enjoy it that much more. I would have to check all those boxes because this cottage is a great place to stay for all ages. I always look forward to coming back and seeing what's new in the cottage and I enjoy my summer days in Douglas.
