About this chalet rental
Large home. Great for multiple families. Ski or swim!
Welcome to our "tree house". This property is literally tucked away in the trees but is only 1.5 miles from the AMAZING Ellacoya State Park Beach with 600 ft of sandy shorefront. GUNSTOCK MOUNTAIN entrance is just over1 mile. Our home is also close to several marinas where boat, PWC, and SUP rentals are available. It is the perfect place to kick back after a day on the mountains, lake or hike (the best hike in the Lakes Region, Mt. Major is 15 min away). The chalet is a spacious, comfortable oasis with exposed beams. You will love it!
Our 5 bedroom chalet offers sleeping for 14 guests in beds, not pull-out couches! Open concept family room and eat in kitchen, 5 bedrooms, 2.5 bathrooms, screen porch, large deck and a Tiki-inspired finished basement for the night owls in the crowd. The chalet has all you need for hosting multiple families - gas grill, dishwasher, crock pot, griddle, casserole dishes and a large farm table which can accommodate 8-10 guests at once. Or wander less than a mile down the street to the Ellacoya Tavern, The Breeze (our fav!) or Patrick's Pub for a hearty meal and let them worry about the dishes! This property offers the best of both worlds! The kids are sure to love the bunk bed options, the tire swing and exploring our wooded yard! The on-site washer/dryer allows you to re-wash and dry your ski gear or swim suits for the next great day on Gunstock Mountain or Lake Winni.
Enjoy a nightcap or s'mores under the bright stars while gathered around the outdoor fire pit! WE HAVE WIFI !!! Large flatscreen in the living room with a google chromecast and a 50" smart TV in the basement with Roku. Wait there's more?! In addition to a bed for everyone the house includes a Tiki inspired finished basement with a bar and living room area, washer, dryer, countertop, sink and a walkout to the firepit area. Our home sits on a PRIVATE wooded lot 5 minutes to the Gunstock entrance, 2 minutes to Ellacoya State Park Beach, 10 minutes to hiking (Mt. Major, Lockes Hill and more), several golf courses and a pretty lakeside drive to downtown Laconia, Weirs beach etc.

Had a wonderful time at the location, loved the firepit and proximity to the lake!

This place is in a great location in NH for a very reasonable price. The beds and couches are unbelievably comfortable there. The owners stayed in touch whenever we needed. Just make sure you completely clean up because you can rack up a decent bill if not (a decent amount of places are like this so it’s not a big deal).

Clean. The location is great. Plenty of space for the 5 adults and four kids. Had everything we needed for cooking.

Great place!! We were a group of 11 - 7 adults and 4 kids. The house was the perfect set up for us. It had everything we needed. And best of all was only a 10 minute drive to the pavilion! Will definitely return!

This house is the perfect one for a large family or two families. The great room on the first floor is awesome for dinners, playing games or just good conversation. The downstairs provides a second area for the same. The furnished deck on the main level and the fire pit area are perfect for outdoor time! The hosts are more than accommodating and responded to questions very quickly. I would highly recommemd this property for a special vacation getaway.

Communication with owners was easy and responses were timely. Fire pit with wood was provided which the kids enjoyed for making s’mores. We were also allowed to use the propane grill which was a plus. Clean home with many amenities and close Lake Winnipesaukee.

Overall experience was very nice. The outdoor fire pit and picnic area was very fun. The house was nice and generally quite clean. All the instructions were pretty straightforward. We enjoyed the pass to the little Guilford beach nearby. There was plenty of room for all of our party. Just a few issues put a bit of a damper on the visit. The biggest being, the brand new dishwasher did not work , leaving us to hand wash all the dishes for 10-12 people for three days. The other being when we arrived fairly late in the day, very tired, the clean sheets had not been put on the beds and, one of the beds had a twin sheet set out for a double bed (which we found out as we were getting ready to go to bed). The owners were very communicable about both issues but we were never able to get the dishwasher working. I was told I would get somewhat of a refund and I’ve tried to communicate with them since and have not heard back. Overall good experience. Had a grea time.

We rented this space for 6 adults for the first weekend Laconia bike week. It was absolutely perfect in terms of location. We didn’t want to be too far, but also not right near the events. It was very spacious and clean. The outdoor space was a huge plus.

Comfortable for our group of 12, reasonably priced, many areas to sit and talk, but also watching the Olympics as a group. Hiking nearby, view from Mt. Major is spectacular (go early for parking). The Trudells provided a pass for the town beach (which is very nice) and we were able to use the tennis courts at the Gunstock Acres club. We cooked in (adequate cooking supplies & dishes), full sized fridge and grill. Enjoyed the fire pit each night. Sitting out on the deck in the morning with our coffee had the feel of being in a tree house. Plenty of parking out front and across the street. Thank-you for sharing your ski house Matt and Kelly.

Was great all around. Firepit, plenty of places to sleep and entertain, temperature control was awesome. Nice and secluded and awesome to find the brook.

We had a great time together as a family. My youngest daughter and her family were here from California. It was nice to have a place that could actually all after this past year of zoom visits.
The house was clean and we had all we needed. Easy access to the lake and other attractions.
My only suggestion would be to get a new grill. We didn’t use it, we had a large griddle with us so we were good!
Thank you!

Kelly and Matt were very responsive and helpful. The house was extremely clean and private. It was the perfect vacation house to enjoy the many attractions in the Winnipesaukee/Gunstock area with a larger group. Would recommend.

Owners food was in all cupboards, only one tiny free cupboard. Had to leave food out on counter or in bags. The drawers in bedrooms were full of owners clothes. The master bedroom did appear to be made up with clean sheets. The bunks were extremely uncomfortable. The kitchen equipment was lacking. Plates and bowls are chipped, no large frying pan, only a few cups. The private beach is perfect for small children, but too small for adults and teenagers.

I rented this house with family for a few nights. A group of mostly adults and 3 kids. We had a great time. The house was clean, plenty of space, awesome outdoor fire pit and close to the private beach! The kids loved it!

I may be being picky but owner said property would be open up my arrival. Arrived and property was locked up. I had to call him and he did open right away remotely which was nice but would not have been good if he didn't answer right away? The property itself was adequately maintained although a relatively strong mildewy smell in basement and most of house. Again, may sound picky as I suppose this is to be expected older cottages but there is definitely a moisture issue. The main issue I had was an older rocker chair which buckled while a friend was sitting in it. It was rotted out and not the end of the world but when I had mentioned to owner there was no further communication. No "I apolgize I hope he is ok", nothing. Still haven't heard from him. I can only assume he somehow blames us for the rotted out chair. Strange because up until this point I was very happy overall with the experience.
