About this cabin rental
Dewey's Cabin is a two bedroom one bath, very secluded cabin with gorgeous views of Point Peter Mountain and located only two miles from the Buffalo River.
Please be aware: Renters will need to bring their own bedding and towels. This is how we keep our prices low and affordable for our customers. Also, the cabin is secluded with beautiful mountain views, however, there is 5 miles of dirt road to reach the cabin. We recommend bringing atruck or SUV.
Manes Bluff Cabins are perfect for horseback riders, hikers, or anyone looking for a scenic stay away from town. Located on the Buffalo Nation River, cabin is 4.6 miles from Snowball and located about 300 yards from Dave Manes Bluff lookout on the Buffalo River Trail in the Ozark Mountains. It is about 3 miles from the Buffalo National River by county road to the local favorite swimming hole the Margaret White A favorite and beautiful nearby river spot is the Margaret White. Whether you love hunting, fishing, or observing wildlife, this place has it all. 33 acres surrounded by park land.
This place is also wonderful for anyone interested in history as the late owner Dewey Dill spent time making moonshine in the school bus cleverly hidden (buried) behind the cabin.
Point Peter Mountain is visible off the front porch of Dewey s Cabin and the driveway to the cabin is marked by a beautiful old barn built in 1938.

Dewey‘s cabin is a wonderful secluded getaway from all the hustle and bustle. The roads in and out of the cabin are very narrow and rocky and for sure would want something that sits up higher or is four-wheel-drive. I wish we would’ve been able to see a little more wildlife while we were there but first night armadillo Join us by the campfire and just walked all around us while we were out there which we found so funny and cute. My only complaint if I had one would be the bed was not the most comfortable, but it was doable. Would definitely stay again.

We had a great time at this cabin and the swimming hole was to die for! Hands down best vacation we have had so far! We had a great week of unplugging and getting away from everyone and everything with just our kiddos.

To start, the woman in charge was very helpful and answered promptly. The property however was very isolated, you must drive through an actual ghost town. There is no GPS 3/4 of the way up a very steep and dangerous drive through the raw woods with a sharp edged bottom filled with large rocks. If it rains you can be potentially stuck for hours until the water goes down. A small vehicle will not make this ascent. Pulled up to the property and there was a very ominous feeling upon stepping foot outside our vehicle. We did not stay the night, we tried to get through the feeling but left within 30 minutes of arriving. No cell service to speak of so could not contact anyone until you descend again. The pictures do not reflect the property. I am sorry I have nothing positive other than the communication leading up to the trip. I strongly recommend a 4x4 vehicle with good clearance and an appetite for seclusion.

Thus quite, peaceful, secluded cabin is just what we needed to recharge our batteries. We spent the day enjoying the beautiful weather and view. We even saw an elk come to the back of the cabin to graze. We will definitely be back to stay again, we will just stay longer next time.

We love this property! It was our second time to stay and we’ll be back. The drive up is gorgeous through canopies of trees. The cabin is rustic and makes you feel like you’ve stepped back in time. The back field is so green. Each morning we moved the front chairs to the driveway and drank our coffee looking out at the fields and mountain. The beds were comfortable and nice hot water! I saw some mama turkeys and 10 baby turkeys one morning. We love this place!

Words cannot describe how beautiful this place is just a short ride to the buffalo river and away from everything. I will be coming back 😁😁😁

If you want to "get away from ALL" this is for you but road is not for the faint at heart or low cars....owner does send directions to AVOID GPS and follow the owner's directions! The swimming hole "made" this trip for us with children but not an easy access. If you need cell signal or wifi again NOT the place for you....this is for a GET-AWAY! We loved it!

Location was great. Cabin could use some improvement. Overall great time

We loved our weekend getaway! Remote location, we enjoyed exploring some nearby trails, looking for wildlife tracks, and wading at the swimming hole. The driving directions were very helpful and while SUV would likely be beneficial on some of the roads, our Subaru Outback did just fine. Accommodations were as described and beds were comfortable. I really enjoyed drinking my coffee while watching the sunrise and my toddler play in the living room.

The stay is so remote and the swim hole nearby is beautiful. With the cabin at the top of the hill my small daughter could explore just a little bit with our eyes always being on her. Cabin was beautiful and nicely kept. The stove was great, the water was warm. What more could you ask for?

This location is so beautiful and relaxing. There was a fire pit and firewood ready for us. As the listing says, you definitely need AWD or 4WD to get to the cabin, but it's worth it! We will likely be back for more hiking in the fall!

Weather was mild and we enjoyed the short hikes and the downtime to just reconnect.

What an amazing place! The views were outstanding and the cabin was so warm and comfy.

Cutest little cabin in the middle of the woods. We actually got a family of elk in the backyard on the last morning. We ended up staying another night had to find laundry place which was a long ways away was a little frustrating and kinda wish the yard in back was bush hogged . But the swimming hole she told us about was amazing so totally made up for our little disappointments. We will for sure be back.

Booked for my buddy’s bachelor party. Was absolutely perfect for this occasion. Views were amazing and plenty of space for us.
Make sure you read the description. Truck or 4wd SUV is not just recommended it is practically required to get to the location. But once you do it is stunning.

We loved every minute of our trip to Dewey’s Cabin. The property is beautiful with a great view, amazing sunrises and sunsets, and the cabin is only a short hike to the Ozark Highland Trail and Buffalo National River. We will be back!

Two couples who enjoy traveling together to see the natural world spent a few days of our spring break here and we loved the place. It was an easy walk from the property to the Buffalo River Trail, which we hiked on the clear day, and was a comfortable cabin with the gas heater on for the cold, rainy day. Splendid views from the kitchen and living room; in warmer weather the outdoor "porch" would have been lovely. We came prepared to cook and found the kitchen a little disappointing; not enough full flatware for four people, and some dishes in the cupboard were not clean. The stove was great, however. For the price and the privacy, more than worth it!

My friends and I really enjoyed our stay at this property. The cabin has a great view off the porch. Make sure you check out swimming area on the river near the cabin you won’t be disappointed.

Beautiful views everywhere you look. The cabin was great with the exception of the bed. The bed was so uncomfortable and old. We both did not sleep well due to the bed. The area is beautiful. Make sure you bring a 4x4 truck, you will need it to explore the area.

This cabin was so cute. The surrounding area is Breath-taking. Quiet. It was the perfect getaway for my husband and I....we didn't want to leave!

This cabin did not disappoint! 4 women in their young 30’s was what our group was made up of and we absolutely loved watching the gorgeous sunsets, the peacefulness of not having neighbors or busy roadway noise and enjoying nighttime fires around the fire pit. The cabin is a good 30 min drive from town, but so worth it if you’re looking for peace and adventure. The closest town has lots to offer as far as shopping and things to do. The property itself had amazing views and wonderful hiking trails. We will definitely return to Dewey’s sweet little cabin! ❤️

Such a lovely secluded property! Well stocked kitchen.
Super cozy. Beds were comfortable.
Enjoyed sitting outside listening to nature and grilling some yummy food. We even got to see some Elk! We will definitely be coming back.

Paradise
I reserved this cabin because of the word “secluded”! That is exactly what I found! Two friends and I spent three days here and never saw another human except the owner. We only saw him because we had a minor problem with the A/C which he came and fixed without delay. Walking distance to a wonderful overlook of the Buffalo River. Driving 10-15 minutes to a great swimming hole. I hesitate to even leave a good review because I never want to not be able to book this cabin because others have discovered it! Thanks for a fantastic vacation!

Year 4
This was the 4th year my friends group stayed at Deweys. This is one of our favorite trips of the year! Megan is absolutely fantastic host. Thank you for sharing this great place!

Didn't stay the second night because we would have got stuck there with the low water bridges to high. Want to go back a different time!

Down a long, long gravel road sits this piece of heaven. For our anniversary my husband and I wanted a private get-away and that is exactly what we got. Love the property and old decor of this cute cabin. We walked to the Mane's Bluff trail head and explored. We used Buffalo River Outfitters for a float and they were great. I would say make sure and grab everything you need because town is a long way away, which makes it the best! Loved it here!

The location is remote, which we loved, about a 30 minute drive from hwy. 65. You do need a high clearance vehicle if there is much rain, as runoff goes over the gravel road in several places. Our Suburu Outback did just fine. Very basic cabin, but served our needs, and reasonably priced.
