The Shack is one of the few properties in SA lucky enough to have its own private beach, private boat mooring and access to the beach and access to the mooring via property.
This is an idealic location for a quiet getaway with breathtaking views.
There is a large deck area great for entertaining looking over the bay with bbq facilities.
After a days fishing there are fish filleting facilities and the friendly pelicans are sure to keep you entertained.
Enjoy the sunset over the magnificent streaky bay while enjoying a few drinks on the deck
The shack comprises of 2 living areas, ample carparking for boats and cars.
There is room for 8 people - 4 queen size beds.

Great location with a real beach shack vibe. Beds comfortable, fully equipped kitchen. Many hours spent unwinding on the deck & on the lounge in the north-facing sun room. Would love to return!

The Shack was as we expected a renovated shack very well equipped with a location right on the water. Accessibility was easy Beds and bed linen were clean and comfortable but general cleaning could have been better particularly bathroom floor area but we enjoyed our stay there.

The Shack was booked for 5 adults. Great location and was as advertised. The host was responsive to all communications and made a last minute change a positive one. All the guests had an enjoyable comfy stay.

The Shack provided me with the perfect getaway - from internet, city bustle, stress. The house is beautiful with relaxing decor, every amenity you could need, comfortable beds - and a view that took my breath away when I opened the front door. Looking straight out onto the bay. And that's what I did for four days and nights while I read a book, shucked oysters and cooked some beautiful whiting. The central location means you can walk everywhere. Loved it. Highly recommended.

As soon as you walk through the front door the ocean view takes your breath away. To be able to fish straight from your deck is priceless. The house has everything you need with spaces for the family to have their own areas to relax. Wonderful location to shops and the Jetty. Perfect!!!!

Well … where to start … The location of the property IS perfect. Right on the water, 5 min walk to the Jetty, 7 min walk to the pub, 10 min walk to town. Once you park your car on the driveway (that can easily hold 4 cars) you’ll never need it for the remainder of your stay. ‘The Shack’ is very basic for all your needs and it is comfortable. It has charm, it could do with a spot of renovation … however, you’d then have to change the name! Rustic is the way here. Beds are comfortable and warm, amenities are all good, hot water is HOT so be careful and there is a fire pit out back which CAN be used even during fire season. Confirmation was given by the owner and everything was safely monitored from start to finish. Common sense is a must when using the pit! Now, the cons. Mosquitoes & bugs are EVERYWHERE and they get in the house very easily (even with everything shut). It annoyed me to death because I was bitten repeatedly during our stay even though I killed hundreds of them on a daily basis. It doesn’t help that I react badly to each bite … but, I persevered. ‘The Resident Mouse’ - Yep, you read it right. There is a resident field mouse that comes with the property and pops up from time to time. Now, it never bothered us. Nor did it get into our food, spread disease, contaminate utensils or anything stupid like that. We hardly saw it and we let it live out its day to day routine in peace. The owner put down mouse traps so, if you’re freaked out right now, don’t be … all is safe. Screen doors could do with some more security and better locking features. As much as we wanted air flow through the property at night in the bedrooms it wasn’t always possible. Simply because the screen door (in our bedroom) could be opened from the outside. On the whole, our stay was well needed and ‘The Shack’ provided. We were warm, comfortable, well rested and relaxed. The fishing was amazing and we were out on the jetty almost every single day. Please consider this place for your next holiday because you will not be disappointed. We certainly were not disappointed and SHALL return as soon as financially possible.

The views are beautiful, it was nice until the next door neighbors intruded by jumping the fence, intoxicated harassing us and our two small children, money was stolen and the neighbors music was loud until 5am. The owner contacted me twice, rudely, once waking me up on my birthday accusing me about our 8 guests staying and how many cars parked in the drive way. Then again about the music complaint when it was actually the other Neighbors music. Accused of 3 dogs when I only had 1 dog and the advertisement states pets are allowed. The forth room is adjoined to another, so little to no privacy for two rooms. Then the owner charged an extra additional $300 for cleaning, with no photographs to prove this, when in fact we left the place clean & tidy, we even washed, dried and folded the towels and put the rubbish and bins out. The weather was the only perfect thing all weekend. Would not recommend to stay here.

Went for a week with my family and 2 well behaved cavoodles. The Shak was a great place for us to relax with all the comforts of home. We all had an amazing time there, we had seafood platter on the veranda in the evening it was a perfect setting looking out on the water. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

We loved this place so much! Lovely comfortable beds, perfect scenery, gorgeous weather, everything you need within walking distance - it was just perfect! We loved the shack and loved Streaky Bay. It’s in a great location and every afternoon we sat on the beautiful deck enjoying the views and sunset. Loved being able to walk into town. I can also highly recommend hiring a tinny from Killas if you’re into boating and fishing. Overall I just can’t fault the shack. It’s not 5star but the way it’s being perfectly setup with everything you need makes for a luxurious holiday. Thank you Larissa.

The listing states wheelchair access & no way could you use a wheelchair. Would have been nice to be informed that the gardener was coming in on Wednesday only to be woken up 9am to lawnmower, we were on holiday. To many steps for me to feel 100% save moving around with my limited mobility & needing to use a cane. If able bodied this is would be a great place.
