About this cabin rental
Enjoy the peace and tranquility of a quiet mountain lake, towering pines, amazing sunsets and dark night skies filled with bright, sparkling stars. Our lakefront cabin overlooks Saturday Pond, a spring-fed, crystal clear lake which is home to several loons, hawks, great blue herons, osprey and an occasional eagle and moose. The lake is 179 acres with maximum depths of about 25 feet and has bass, perch and pickerel in its waters which makes for great fishing. Saturday Pond is located in the town of Otisfield, Maine about 35 miles northwest of Portland near the Sebago Lakes region.
This charming cabin is neat, clean, comfortable and has many of the amenities of home. With a porch furnished with wicker furniture and a large picture window, the cabin provides spectacular views of the lake and its wildlife. During the season, pick blueberries out the front door of your cabin or gaze at the brilliant stars in the dark summer skies. The cabin has a common area which houses its living, kitchen and dining areas. The living room has a futon which can open up to sleep additional guests. Inquire about our other cabin located nearby - great for another family or set of friends. Your very own private compound on the lake!
Perfect for those lazy days of summer filled with swimming, canoeing, fishing (off the dock or in one of the lake’s coves), reading a book in the hammock, lobster dinners, barbecues, and cooking marshmallows for s’mores over the fire pit overlooking the lake. For a change of scenery, drive to the Maine coast for the day to swim at one of its many beaches, visit its lighthouses and quaint towns. Or, enjoy the crisp days of autumn, fall foliage and breathtaking mountain views while visiting the many antique shops, gift stores, local farm stands and country fairs. Shopping abounds only forty-five minutes away in the Mount Washington area of North Conway, New Hampshire or about an hour’s drive to Freeport, the home of the original LL Bean store and many designer outlets. Or, visit the many shops and fine restaurants also an hour away in the Old Port Exchange in Portland.

Upon arriving at the cabin, the view of Saturday pond was enough to convince us we found the right spot. The cabin was recently renovated on the inside and was very well appointed. When we met the property owner Ellen, she was extremely nice and generous. We thoroughly enjoyed the cabin and it's amenities. We plan to go back next summer and hopefully we can fit it into the busy rental schedule. Thank you Ellen!

We had the most relaxing and idyllic stay at this camp. Our 11 year old grandson was able to fish every day both from the dock, from his kyack, and from a canoe at the camp. He enjoyed every single minute and did not want to leave. Our old English Setter loved being by the water and watching the activity.

Had a 10 month old reservation cancelled on us as we packed our car to head to a family wedding. Since we planned on taking our pups, we were frantic and with great fortune, stumbled across this listing. The owner replied to our request quickly and check in was smooth and welcoming. Photos of the property are helpful, but didn't depict how clean, comfortable and lovely the cottage and the exterior grounds really are. I've never experienced a rental so well stocked and with quality equipment and supplies. Cabin stayed warm and comfy, plenty of hot water and very good wifi and cable offerings. Owners were very pleasant and helpful, but were respectful of privacy and we barely were aware they were nearby at a neighboring home. All in all a wonderful stay with perfect weather that we'd love to repeat. Thank you!

We were so delighted with our stay at this property. Ellen and Jim were gracious and inviting hosts. The accommodations were exceptional and the views were spectacular. On the day of our departure my husband and I were very sad to leave. We are planning next year's excursion. Thank you for everything we loved it.

Thank you Ellen, we had a great week. Your place is gem! Super clean, quiet and great decor. Nice quiet private area by the water and easy access for the kayak. Spent lots of time relaxing in the hammock and on the porch reading. You were very thoughtful lending us the vest with the handle for our elderly dog Tuco. Thank you!

We've lost count of how many times we've rented this cottage, starting years ago when our daughter was young. My husband and I still keep coming back to this peaceful place. The hosts are lovely people, and the cottage is clean and comfortable, with a well-equipped kitchen. We appreciate the quiet and tranquility we find here, swimming and canoeing in the beautiful pond, and enjoying the wonderful sunset views.

Serenity
Situated on a quiet pond in the heart of the lakes region of Maine, we felt immediately relaxed. We had everything we needed for our trip, and felt like we had been there for days, instead of two nights. We highly recommend this gem, and look forward to returning.

Great cabin
Really enjoyed the cabin with my family. Hang at the lake all day grill dinner every night and taught my daughter to fish.

A sweet little classic Maine lakefront cabin. Rustic but comfortable with modern amenities. Nice location on a beautiful, peaceful pond and very friendly, helpful owners!

We had a wonderful week. The weather was perfect for swimming, kayaking and fishing. The porch was perfect for watching the one thunderstorm we had and was our go to spot for coffee, breakfast and listening to the birds in the morning. They supplied a large charcoal grill and all of the utensils. My one wish was for a gas grill. I would have grilled much more. Overall, 5 stars.

quiet & relaxing
Thank you for a wonderful experience on Saturday Pond. The lake was perfect, seeing the loons and sunsets and enjoying the fishing. We loved the little cottage feel and how clean and comfortable everything was. The screened-in porch allowed us to read, do some puzzles and watch the storms on rainy days, too!

Peaceful, clean and cozy
This was a lovely mini vacation for parents weekend. It afforded my daughter and her friends a place to get away from the college campus. It had everything we needed except maybe an extra blanket! Thanks Ellen and Jim. The kayaks were a definite plus.

Adorable Cabin, really kind owners, and wonderful pond to swim in and watch sunsets!
My mom, one year old daughter, and I had a fantastic stay at this adorable cabin! It was stocked with so many essential items and provided us a lovely place to spend our 4th of July vacation - which also happened to be one of the hottest weeks of the year! The pond was crystal clear and warm, and the water entry was perfect for kids! The dock was a great place to sit on calm mornings to enjoy coffee and at night to watch the beautiful sunsets! The rooms were clean and the beds were comfortable! We met our hosts the first day there and they were so nice and accommodating! We will definitely be coming back!

Amazing
What a beautiful place and location on Saturday Pond, we had a great time grilling, sitting by the fire, and we even took a canoe out on the pond. The sun would set perfectly over the pond. I would definitely look into going back in the summer so that I can swim in the pond.

Fabulous, immaculate, beautiful property!
The cabin is gorgeous, all wood, cathedral ceiling in the main area, newly re-done, immaculate and cozy! The property is gorgeous with waterfront views of a beautiful sunset each night. We loved relaxing by the fire pit and taking in the fresh air and nature. Our kids loved running around the yard, swinging in the hammock and dipping their toes in the water. The owners were so nice and accommodating, they introduced themselves and let us know how to reach them in case we needed anything. But we didn't need anything, because the house was already all set up for us. We would love to come back and visit again!

Great weekend getaway!
We stayed at the cabin for the weekend while attending a wedding in the area. Ellen was great to work with and very accommodating. The cabin was great and fit 4 adults very comfortably. The view of the lake is amazing! Very peaceful and quiet!

Amazing setting, wonderful stay
Situated on the shore of peaceful Saturday Pond, our rental (Cabin 5) was everything we needed to relax and get away from it all. Simple functional kitchen, we kept bathroom and bedrooms, air conditioners (didn't need them much), ceiling fans. We loved the shared canoes and kayaks, but really all you need is to sit on one of the docks and watch the clouds go by. Good communication, clear directions to arrive and how to do everything needed (trash, etc.) Decent enough internet (we wanted to get away from it all), plus we watched some olypics on the tv at night. Definitely would reccommend, with the only caveat being you are sharing the docks and gigantic yard, was not a problem at all for us and our three kids.

Perfect cabin, with a perfect porch overlooking a quiet lake.
People who rent properties should come and stay here to learn how it should be done. In my opinion, this is the perfect cabin. It is appointed perfectly without being cluttered, it is warm and welcoming, and the owners do not overburden you with rules, making you feel like you will be lucky to get your deposit back. I am somewhat picky on cleanliness, and this cabin was very clean. Also, the owners were happy to provide me with linens, as I live in Texas and certainly could not bring my own.
With respect to the environment, not only is the cabin itself delightful, the lake is beautiful and peaceful, and the area is very quiet.
Things to consider: no dishwasher, washing machine or dryer; no restaurants close by, and the closest ones that we found were pretty mediocre. I am also pretty picky when it comes to restaurants -- I prefer healthy options, so I was better off going to the nearby farm stand and preparing my own food in the wonderful, cozy cabin.
There are five rental cabins on the property, but there is a pretty good amount of space between the cabins.
