About this house rental
Yough Treehouse is located in the town of Confluence nestled in the Laurel Highlands Mountains. Our private home sits on 2 acres of land along the Youghiogheny River at the tailwaters of the dam. Surrounded by protected woods (recently purchased by Western PA Conservancy and trails are in the works), at the end of a one lane road but within walking distance to town. We are 400 yds to the Great Allegheny Passage bike trail.
Our secluded, custom build home is well equipped and clean. The open floor plan in the kitchen/living area and large deck with grill make for ideal socializing. The house has lots of windows and is bright and cheery.
Yough Treehouse can accommodate up to 6 people. We have 2 bedrooms and an open loft for sleeping and 2 full baths. The master bedroom has a king sized bed and full bath including a claw foot tub. The second bedroom has 2 twins. And the loft has a queen sized bed.
The kitchen is well equipped with everything you'll need. There is a gas grill on the deck. All linens and towels are provided. There is a TV/DVD, highspeed, wireless internet and free local calls. Verizon/Sprint/AT&T cell phones work well from the house. The house has central A/C.
Our home is kid friendly and there is a highchair and portacrib. With 4 distinct seasons, the house is available year round.
Without leaving our property you can enjoy the natural beauty of the area while relaxing on our spacious deck over looking the river. Or listen for geese, ducks and other birds on the flagstone patio with built in fire ring or while soaking the hot tub. Fly fish for trout in the well stocked tailwaters of the dam in our back yard. Watch for great blue heron, osprey or if you are lucky the bald eagles that fish here as well.
Make a day swimming and boating at the Yough Lake just around the corner. Take a break from your ride through from DC to Pittsburgh on the bike trail or spend the day biking shorter routes in either direction. Kayak or pick up a raft trip in nearby Ohiopyle. Make this the perfect retreat for trips to the 2 Frank Lloyd Wright homes Fallingwater and Kentuck Knob. We are centrally located to the ski resorts (Wisp, Seven Springs & Hidden Valley).
Whether you are looking for a romantic getaway, a family planning the ultimate recreational vacation or old friends looking for a quiet retreat our home is the perfect setting. For larger groups please consider the http://www.youghriverhouse.com/ Riverhouse just down the road (sleeps 12). Or consider renting both the Riverhouse and Treehouse. The houses are walking distance apart.
Come back year after year and explore the wonders of the Laurel Highlands.
Please note that there is a security camera/motion detection light- facing the driveway, that we use to monitor when the space is vacant.

Our second stay at Yough Treehouse, we will keep coming back, such a good experience in the Ohiopyle area. Very private and serene.

We thoroughly enjoyed our visit to the Yough Treehouse! The weather had turned cooler which made the hot tub and fire pit that much more inviting. The house was clean and well stocked (games, blankets, filtered water). Being able to bring our dog was another bonus.
The location is in walking distance to the Lucky Dog Cafe, where we had a really good lunch, and to Riversport, where we rented some kayaks. The bike trail is also right there, so if you want to bike or just take a nice walk you are all set!
We hope to come back and stay again sometime!

Wonderful property! The house was clean and well stocked with everything we needed. Kara was quick to respond to any questions we had, before and during our stay. We had a great time exploring Confluence, walking the trails, dinner at the Lucky Dog Cafe and ice cream at the Outflow. We loved the falls at Ohiopyle and the laurel caverns. A lovely home, inside and out (even better than the pictures.) would love to see it in the fall!

Three is us friends rented your house for the weekend, but complications at home resulted in only me being able to come. I thoroughly enjoyed the house and was very comfortable. I felt safe walking around the area, and it was quiet in the evening and overnight. We all may come for another visit.

Place was great. Owners should look at screen door to patio as the rollers need adjustment. Would definitely stay again! In our top five of VRBO’s we have utilized!!

We had a wonderful five star experience at the Treehouse from beginning to end. Kara was super helpful and quick to respond with everything. The Treehouse is exactly as described and better and we had everything we needed to enjoy the weekend. The Treehouse location is perfect. We enjoyed easy bike trail and river access. We would 100% recommend the Treehouse and definitely stay there again.

Great house. Super clean and beautifully decorated. We couldn’t have ask for anything better for a birthday weekend away. We were a little early in the year to enjoy the Lucky Dog Cafe, but we enjoyed exploring the area. Would not hesitate to stay here again. Thank you Kara.

The location of the cabin is an absolute fairy escape. From the gorgeous cliffside and surrounding forest, to the bumbling brook, the stone patio and porch overlook, the indoor decor is tasteful and they really did have everything you could need. Plenty stocked on kitchen essentials (and extra like a boil pot/crock pot), toiletries, and soft towels. We had a blast exploring local hiking trails, Ohiopyle. A few shops/restaurants closed for the season, re-open in April, how ever found a shop where I got a Amish handmade leather satchel for only $34. The host is so kind, responisive, and absolutely saved my life by finding a lost camera memory card that we coudnt even find before departure. I highly recommend and I honestly cant wait to return myself during summer season and stay here with this host again.

Our New Year's retreat at the Yough Treehouse was truly wonderful. Kara's responsiveness and accommodation made the experience exceptional. The hot tub by the river was a highlight, providing a serene escape. The spacious rooms were perfect for our family, and ownership's thoughtful touches, such as the high chair and pack and play, made it incredibly accommodating for our infant son. A highly recommended getaway for families seeking comfort and relaxation.

A beautiful home for a peaceful getaway. This home is extremely clean and the owner Kara is a down to earth type of person and easy to work with. We enjoy seeing the updates made to the home over the past 8 years of booking. The Treehouse is located in a quiet and private area but close enough to the main road and stores, restaurants, etc. The Treehouse is a real gem.

Pittsburgh Ladies weekend for our 8th year. This place is THE BEST. They are always adding extra items to make it a more relaxing weekend. New Lights in fire pit area make it easy to find your way. Railings help to get you safely from house to fire pit. Just can't say enough about this amazing place. We visited Neubauers Market House, 36 East Church Street in Uniontown on our way home. It is a magical Christmas experience.

We loved the treehouse. Not only was it meticulously clean, but all the furnishings were comfortable and the tiny details were so appreciated. The string lights are so pretty at night, and the river sounds lulled us to sleep at night and were the first things we enjoyed with our morning coffee. This was the perfect getaway for us and our dog. We could all our meals at the house and had everything we needed. During the day we discovered that there are a lot of places to explore nature nearby, and next time we would love to bring our bikes to explore the GAP.

The house was comfortable and well equipped. Very good location convenient to beautiful Ohiopyle and Fallingwater. We hiked the trails at Ohiopyle to many beautiful waterfalls. Cucumber Falls was our favorite. Hiking to Cucumber Falls from visitors center along river was gorgeous with fall foliage. Thank you.

The Treehouse was just what we were looking for and it did not disappoint. The home was cozy, comfortable, and clean, with everything we needed. From the well equipped kitchen, the great hot tub and fire pit, views of the river, peace and quiet, and close proximity to the bike path and a nice town. We look forward to returning in the future.

The house was great and listing is accurate. This is located in Confluence about 10 miles from ‘downtown’ Ohiopyle. Confluence sits on the edge of Ohiopyle State Park so the house provides great options to visit downtown and to also experience other parts of this beautiful Park if you have only visited the center (which was the case with us). Lucky Dog Cafe is walkable from the house and had great food and cold beverages. Dog friendly too! Just like the Yough Treehouse. This was our first vacation away with our hound and we’re already looking forward to planning the next one! Thank you, Yough Vacations, for making our trip easy and comfortable!

We we’re very happy with the Treehouse. From sitting on the back deck watching the river with your morning coffee to a very nice fire pit and a wonderful hot tub to end your day. Private setting but very close by to kayaking, hiking, a cute little town and only about eight miles from Ohiopyle. The house was fully equipped with everything you could need with sweet added extras you don’t see in most rentals. We had a fantastic time and would definitely stay here again. I don’t just recommend the house, the owners are very accessible and helpful. We actually were able to stay an extra day that made it even better.

The property is all house. Nestled back with woods around you. The loft is awesome. 2 beds would be better up there, but the other (2nd) bdrm has the double beds. Showering, get in and out. Don't have 2 people showering at once. A quick drive to the campsite across the way has an awesome fishing spot for fly fishing. The town has a hardware store, gas station/restaurant and those ladies are very nice. Dollar General for all your needs. Grocery store for meats and things. The ice cream parlor, outlook is awesome. Ohiopyle is a must see, explore. McClure is a good hiking spot as well. It was very comfortable and the board games was a nice touch. OhioPyle state park, ramcat access point is awesome to explore. Some Frogg Toggs are a must for the river by the home. For some reason, the water is sooo cold. Lol... very enjoyable and would go back. White water rafting is a must. Kids 10 and up are fine. Definitely go to the natural water slides, go down them with jean shorts. Just in case! Sorry for any typos, sent from my phone.

Another relaxing time at the Treehouse. Extremely clean and tidy. Many updates since our last visit. Kara, the owner is great to work with. Have recommended their vacation homes to family and friends. Found a neat eatery called Bubba's BBQ on 5064 National Pike, Markleysburg. Brisket is excellent and the pulled pork. Hours are on FB. Also found a neat antique shop called Blue Moon in MD. Looking forward to our next vacation at the Treehouse.

Our family of 5 kicked off our spring break with 2 nights at the treehouse. The house was super cozy and comfortable! We spent the day enjoying the waterfalls and overlooks in Ohiopyle, and the evenings in the hot tub, roasing marshmallows over the fire, and playing games in the house. The kitchen was well-stocked (crock pot, griddle, and the water cooler were perfect!) and the deck was relaxing! We loved our stay!

This was our 8th year of renting the property for our girls weekend. On our way to the property we decided that the treehouse is like a warm blanket. It just takes you in and wraps you with comfort. Looking forward to our 9th visit.
