The house was lovely with great access to the town and restaurants. The owners were quick to respond to any questions we had and provided a great experience. The house has something for everyone, especially a fun hideaway loft for the kids.

Nice, but check in date was horrible. Kind of ruined our entire trip.

This is our third visit and it gets better each time we go. The home is very well stocked with the essentials for a great stay.

We love this house for the location and the backyard.

We loved the house so much and want to go back! They go above and beyond and think of everything! Loved being able to walk to town, that’s a game changer! Kids cried to leave!

The Cedar Street house is great... perfect location, walkable to everything, beautiful surrounds and views and even with the very close proximity to the village feels tucked away in its own little pocket of forest. The house was immaculate and very well appointed with supplies for our family of five and furball companion. Would definitely stay again.

We LOVED our little family getaway! Cabin is just as described, the small creek was running, saw huge squirrels and bluejays in the yard! Here during some rain so our planned hike had to be cancelled but walked the town and neighborhood instead which worked out great! Came across a nice big running creek with the dogs! And we woke up to some snow on the ground in the mornings that was absolutely beautiful! Wish we stayed a little longer!

I was originally hesitant to stay “in town” because I was concerned it wouldn’t provide the full “mountain cabin” experience but this was really the best of both worlds. We were within walking distance of everything but as soon as you stepped onto the property it felt like you were miles away. The property was perfect for our (adult) children their dogs and our 2 year old grandson. We were able to give him a “wilderness experience” without leaving the property. The place is well kept but not immaculate, which is perfect with dogs and young children. Ours are all well behaved but it’s still nice to be able to let them have fun without worrying about them damaging a bunch of fragile decorations. There is a small part of me that wants to give this property a bad review just so it is more likely to be available the next time we want to visit Idyllwild.

We love Idyllwild and decided to do a long weekend with another family. The 8 of us included adults, teens, and tweens. There was enough space for us to sleep, relax and play board games, and enjoy cooking meals. The bonus was how close it was to everything. We never used our car unless it was to leave town to find snow. The property is super clean and had everything we needed. We also loved the super cute outside with a porch to sit with everyone and even a bridge over a little creek for the kids to walk and explore. We'll definitely be back!

We had a wonderful weekend on Cedar Street. The home was so warm and cozy! We appreciated the artistically placed touches throughout the home. The living room was much bigger than it appeared in the photos. We had lots of family time playing games around the beautiful fireplace. We appreciates being able to walk to restaurants, shops and grocery stores from the home.
We were unable to enjoy the outside due to the rain. We will be back again to spend some time in the awesome backyard.
Melissa was very responsive and helpful. Her kindness regarding our dog’s stay was valued by all of us!

We are repeat guests, and just love the well appointed cabin, peppery and the proximity to town! We got lucky enough to experience a few inches of snow to the delight of my kiddo. A warm fireplace, plenty of exploring to do, and a quick walk to the shops made for a relaxing few days and family memories. The cabin is spotless, we love the layout and lots of thoughtful extras! Thank you for another phenomenal stay. We can’t wait to visit again!

Our stay in your home was wonderful. We came up for the weekend from San Diego, the kiddos loved the yard, it was perfect for exploring. Also the Lava room was a hit. As a family with small kiddos we loved the location and not having to drive into town, the short walk to town was just what we were looking for. We had a fantastic time and enjoyed all the animals we saw in the yard. Squirrels climbing trees, woodpeckers, the tiny chipmunks scurrying across the porch and some frogs. Thank you for being such a wonderful host! We will be sure to recommend your home to family and friends who come to visit Idllywild.

This was our second stay on Cedar St. We were comfy and cozy (and stayed cool with AC). The location is walking distance to town and can’t be beat! Thank you, Melissa. You made us feel right at home. We’ll be back.

We wanted to escape the loud kabooms from 4th of July and we achieved that immensely. This home feels like a home; comfy and spacious.
Great outdoor patio and property. So much life growing and chirping in the trees! Loved it.
It’s about one large lot/church with parking lot away from the main road and town. So close to restaurants and shops! Perfect location.
We fished at Lake Hemet (20-ish minutes away) and also fished at Lake Fulmor located pass Pine Cove. So close to both.
The market in town has about everything you need and this home supplies tons of kitchen thingamabobs and doohickies to help with your cooking A-game!!
Overall, I would choose this spot in a heartbeat and I’ve already recommended this house to my work bestie and her teen family.
BTW: my 11 year old LOVED the LaVa LoUnGe (lava lounge). Such a cool space. Thank you for hosting us in your beautiful yellow home.

This house was perfect for what we needed and the location...absolutely perfect! There was a lot of care put into this house and it had everything for the 8 of us and a doggo. It was so close to everything but still felt like it was out in the forest. What a great setup. Thank you for making it a wonderful trip to Idyllwild!

My husband and I took our daughter, her boyfriend and our dogs for a chill mountain weekend. This little spot was perfect! Beautiful property, really well kept house. It was so clean and comfortable, every bit of info was very clear and the one little hiccup there was (no hot water, pilot light was out on the hot water heater) was addressed really really quickly. The dogs were happy, tons of sniffies in the goat and lovely yard, all the beds were comfortable, tons of kitchen equipment and extra linens and just…anything you would need! Location is perfect to walk to coffee, donuts, drinks, dinner. It honestly was an ideal weekend, thanks in large part to this great rental. Would 100% recommend to a friend and would stay here again if back in the area.

We had a fantastic stay at the Cedar Street Retreat. The house is perfectly located right off of the main road in the center of town, but being toward the end of a quiet side street made it feel quiet and removed. The house itself is comfortably furnished and beautifully decorated. We loved it!
Our visit was right in time for a little winter storm, and the house was the perfect place to hunker down and avoid the rain. There were plenty of board games and books, and of course the lava lounge, which our kids loved! We were also so glad to have the large yard to enjoy when we got a bit of snow. When the weather cleared up for a while, we were able to walk anywhere we needed in town, which was perfect for us.
We truly enjoyed our stay and hope to book again in the future!

Best location. Nice home. Cool backyard. Kitchen well stocked. I wish the beds were bigger... if you are used to your space in bed, the house won't sleep more than 3-5 people. Beds were noisy, beddings were nice and comfy with lots of pillows. Overall, we loved it there and will be back.

The property is well-maintained and a 2 minute walk from the center of the town. My kids loved the lava lounge upstairs, sitting in the cozy living room watching TV, and playing board games. The kitchen had any appliance or cooking utensil we could possibly need. Property managers were very communicative. Would definitely stay here again

My family had such a great time on our trip. We always head to the mountains during the holidays and this trip was one of our most memorable. My kids loved the Lava Lounge. The location of the cabin was perfect. We enjoyed walking into town. And the property was beautiful. Melissa was a wonderful host and had everything ready to go. The cabin was so well organized which made it super easy to relax and enjoy. We’ll be back for sure!

We arrived in a snow storm and were so happy to be at the cottage. Everything was cozy and the beds were really comfy and top of the line. There was fire wood there for the fireplace and lots of recommendations for exploring around the area. It is a beautiful home and perfect for a family or friend vacation. Located right in town too!!!

This place is amazing - lovely, quiet, steps from town center and restaurants. Beautiful outdoor space, BBQ and kitchen, the sheets on the beds are AMAZING!!! Smart TV's, fireplace - it was the perfect retreat and we will be back!! The hosts are amazing to deal with!

I've stayed at this property for the month of August two years in a row. It is a great choice for families with children. My grandsons enjoyed several scavenger hunts throughout the wooded yard. The property is private by nature of the many trees and the location. Walking distance to town makes it even more desirable. Evenings around the fire pit were relaxing after daily hikes and barbecue dinners. I hope to return again next year!

Comfortable cabin for the whole family
We spent 3 nights and had fantastic stay! The house is well-outfitted (stocked kitchen and bathrooms) and very comfortable (nice layout with central hang out zone and cozy furniture). The outdoor space was a highlight - our group included two children ages 3 and 5, 2 parents, and 2 grandparents - and the kids loved all the animal decorations, bridges, and pathways in the backyard, while the adults enjoyed the deck and patio seating (great for bird watching!). Our first few days were warm and the house stayed very cool with just fans (didn’t have to use the AC). The kids also loved playing with the toys and games that were at the house and climbing the ladder to the lava lounge. It was a pleasure working with Melissa - definitely recommend this place!

Wonderful place in the heart of town.
We had a great time at the Cedar Street house. There was more than enough room for our family of five (including the dog) to spread out. The kids loved the Lava Lounge. We enjoyed smores by the fire pit on a brisk spring night. Everything in town was so walkable from the house that we rarely used the car. Thanks for a super stay.

Cozy, cute cabin, walking distance to everything in town.
We had a great stay! The property itself is worth exploring and feels like a secret garden with paths, bridges, and lots of natural beauty. The cabin is comfy and cozy. The vaulted ceiling in the living room made the space feel light and bright with lots of nice little decorative touches that made it feel like home. We had everything we needed. Walking to town was so convenient and easy. We loved walking around the corner to pick up fresh donuts and coffee. We got some perfect weather too. So we did a lot of exploring.
Melissa and Emma were very responsive and helpful with any questions we had. I can’t think of any issues we had. Everything was simple and easy. We would totally book this cabin again for our next Idyllwild visit.

Fresh pine scent
We didn't spend enough time at the home. Only 2 nights. Would like to have a full week sometime. Also, weather was cold, so not alot of time was spent outside. Would be a wonderful place in Spring.

We stay here regularly and are never disappointed. For some reason the water heater pilot light went out and the owner had a handyman out to light it within 10 minutes - impressive.

A Great Idylwild Spot
This was a great cabin for 8 (two families of four). The little boys slept in the lava lounge and the older girls shared a bedroom, too. In the other wing of the house, there are two good sized, comfortable bedroom for adults. The couches are very comfortable and the fireplace is a treat.

Wonderful for kids, even without snow!
We loved the large grounds (bridges and lots of space to run and chase squirrels in), clean well-stocked house and the lava room and night sky display in the loft kept our 5 year old totally engaged. Perfect location walkable to shops and restaurants and a wonderful children’s playground.
