We had kids and there were boards full of nails left all over the porch. I’m not one to leave reviews but when I leave my work to relax and end up doing work it forced my hand. Someone is lazy and dropped the ball and should take accountability but like the real world no one will.

My father, my cousin and I visited for a week long fishing trip. It was a beautiful place with an absolutely amazing wrap around covered porch. We had great views when we were not on the water. This property also has a private covered boat dock which was super convenient. It's also a gated entry so very private and secluded. Overall great place to say, would definitely come back.

Awesome weekend on the water!
We had a wonderful time staying at this home/cabin! It had awesome views and very peaceful with the wrap around porch for plenty of sitting! Brought our boat and although the slips weren’t functional, we tied the boat up to the dock each night with no issues! Would highly recommend anyone wanting a peaceful, clean and awesome lake experience to book this place! There is also a marina just across the water as well!!

Unable to stay at this property
To get to this property, a four-wheel drive vehicle is needed. Check-in wasn’t until 4 p.m. The owner told us paved road turned to gravel, and to go slow. There’s no way to make it up the step grades unless you get a running start(this was confirmed by locals that stopped to help). We were driving a Ford Explorer, and got stuck in loose gravel several times. When we finally made it to property, the gate combination lock did not work. We received call from couple traveling with us that they were stuck on 12 degree grade. They were pulling a brand new expensive boat behind a Ford Expedition. We made the descent to help. The 18-wheeler wrecker could not assist. By the time they had inched vehicle & boat in reverse down hillside, it was completely dark. Decision was made to not attempt to climb this gravel incline. A local resident that stopped to help us offered his property to leave boat overnight. During this fiasco, we had to find another place to stay. The closest hotel with vacancy was in Corinth MS. By the time we got checked in, it was after midnight. The property owner was not accommodating. I’ve requested total refund. Pictures were forwarded to VRBO customer service

Worth the climb
This cabin was great for a weekend getaway for a friend’s birthday. The wrap around porch and the views were spectacular! The last portion of the gravel, VERY hilly road to the cabin was a little tricky. (I wouldn’t take a 4 cylinder car). Ask for the padlock gate code before arrival. The brick work of the stairs and walking path to the water and boat dock were gorgeous, but be mindful that you will get a workout going up and down. We would definitely rent this cabin again.

Beautiful Home....BUT
The views all around this home were beautiful! Being able to sit on the deck, enjoy the nice breeze and watch others fish and jet ski was so relaxing. On the other hand, Mr. Walker was VERY rude to my husband. When we arrived at the beautiful home, there was a lock on the gate. My husband contacted Mr. Walker, as this was his first time booking through VRBO, to ask for the code to the padlock. Once we entered the gate, the door code listed in my husband's VRBO account was not correct, therefore we had to call Mr. Walker a second time. As we walked to the front door and around the deck, we noticed piles of wood laying around and inside the home there were soooooooooo many millipede looking insects in the downstairs and living room areas. My husband called to inform Mr. Walker who proceeded to use profanity towards my husband and informed him, "We were not getting any money back." Money back? That was certainly not our intention. My husband wanted Mr. Walker to know the wood was lying in the property walkways, which made it hard for us to walk around certain areas. Also, we did not expect there to be an issue with bugs. We swept the first night and they were just as bad the second and third night. On the last night, one fell on my face from the ceiling and that was enough. As much as we enjoyed the beauty of this property, it was hard to get past the disrespect from Mr. Walker and the bugs.
Mr. Walker, we are hardworking people who unfortunately have not been able to travel since COVID. The last thing on our minds is cheating someone out of money. We did not WANT or NEED a handout. We LOVE to travel and enjoy new places. We paid a decent amount to reside at your lovely home for 3 nights so all we wanted was to be comfortable. Your rudeness towards my husband was UNACCEPTABLE and just about ruined the trip. Good thing we were able to keep in mind the purpose of this trip. Hope you have more patience with your future guests. We weren't irate and didn't expect you to be either.

Time activated master lock?!?!?
The good; The location and cabin are amazing. The owner was in the process of finishing the wrap around porch which in my opinion gives you some of the best views on the entire lake. The cabin it’s self is great. Its rustic, it’s a cabin, not a 5 star resort. It was exactly what we wanted for a weekend getaway to the lake. It was a great place to detach. No WiFi and we never turned the tv on.
The bad; Some of our family drove in from Texas and arrived an hour early. I called the owner to see if we could get in an hour early. The lady who answered his phone said that was not possible and would interfere with the cleaning crew. I asked if we could get the access code to the gate so they could pull the car off the curvy gravel road. She said the locks were all on a timer and would automatically allow us in at 4pm. It was a master lock. I tried to explain this to her. She didn’t understand. I asked that the owner call me back with code but we never heard back. MAKE SURE YOU GET THE GATE CODE!!!! They didn’t answer my calls at 4pm either. So I climbed the gate and found keys in one of the drawers. After entering it was obvious that the cleaning crew that we would have been “interfering” had not been there at all. Dead insects all over the place. So we spent the first couple hours cleaning the kitchen bathrooms and bedrooms. Had the place been cleaned and the owner communicated with us, I would have probably given the stay a 5 star.

Thanksgiving Getaway Misery
Whatever you do don’t rent from this owner who is rude and Unaccommodating if something goes wrong!!
What started out as a much anticipated getaway for Thanksgiving, it quickly turned into a nightmare!
After proudly surviving a hair raising drive in, with inclines and switchbacks that easily rival any mountain roads I’ve driven, we arrive at the quaint cabin on the lake. The roads were billed as hilly!
Upon arriving we started unloading our coolers and realized pretty quick that the refrigerator was not cooling properly . After opening and shutting the doors a few times, it started cooling a little. We were hopeful!! The owner was contacted and was very rude and accusatory telling us to get in the car and go home now! He said that he did not like grippers, that he knew I wanted a mansion when I asked about an ice maker and people who wanted something for nothing after I said I would dispute it with VRBO. He said that nothing was wrong last week!! That was last week. He never said “ I’m really sorry, let me check on that.”
On Wednesday the fridge died completely and we lost most of our food including Thanksgiving dinner. We had a little ice we brought in just in case, which we used for a few things. The closest ice was 45 min away.
Contacted owner and no reply.
I liken this to renting a car on a 95 degree day only to find the air doesn’t work!! Trip ruined!
We arrived Tuesday and left at 10:30am on Thanksgiving day. Trip ruined with Nothing else to do but go home.
My hope is that the home owner will do the right thing and refund two nights.
A few positives...comfortable beds, very clean, pretty view and beautiful landscaping.
GOOD LUCK FOLKS!

Nice getaway
We arrived and let me start by saying, you need a 4 wheel drive to get to property.
The cabin reminded me of cracker barrell, it was a nice rustic house. The outside and landscaping could have been cleaned and maintained And the boat slips need some maintain with as well but overall, we had a great week!

Lake life
Beautiful property on the lake. We enjoyed our stay. Reviews on point. Lots of stairs to get to the dock and boat lift pretty loud but operational. House lighting a little dark, but otherwise as described. We had the best time at the cabin and made great memories!

Beautiful view
Overall it was a beautiful place to stay ! The only thing I would have changed If I could was the 85 stairs to lake and Be prepared for the last mile before the property. Very steep curvy gravel hills . My daughters car had to be unloaded to get up the hills . We tried 3 times to take off fast and make it up before we thought of all the junk in her trunk ..Kinda of fun too though .. lol

Beautiful view!
Loved the view! We had a wonderful time. the beds were comfortable. we grilled and cooked every night. kitchen was well stocked. one night a storm blew through and power went out for a while, but the neighbor next door was super nice bringing over a flashlight and candles.
One negative though if you plan on renting a boat. You can actually see the marina across the lake, but it is an hour drive to get there.

Amazing water access/slightly neglected cabin
First, I thought other reviewers were exaggerating about the gravel road. If anything, they were not emphatic enough. This property should come with a warning that you really need to drive an SUV/truck. We drove an old minivan full of kids and enough food, etc for a full week and barely made it up the gravel hills. On both the way in and out there are very steep, gravel hills that required multiple attempts to get over the hills in our van. Likely a non-issue with appropriate vehicle so just be prepared.
As others have noted, the house is extremely remote. Pack EVERYTHING you’ll need for your trip.
The view and water access are incredible. The stairs are long and steep down to the water but there’s a small “beach” and a dock that offered hours of fun swimming for my kids. Some days the water was kind of yucky with detritus but the kids didn’t much care. We rented a boat a couple days and while the drive was long, the boat ride is super short to the marina across the way.
The house has a nice layout for a family. We slept upstairs in the master which has its own bathroom. Kids slept in the 2 basement bedrooms. The 2nd bathroom is on the first floor.
While there are TVs, none of the remotes had working batteries. We’ve learned to bring our own equipment to watch movies in lake houses b/c there are often issues.
WiFi was non-existent. We messaged the property manager who told us “You are going to much better to use your phone for internet with AT&T or Verizon. The dish network there does not work very well at all and I don’t know the password” We couldn’t find the password on the box as instructed and never got it to work. We use Sprint and got so-so coverage.
The kitchen is small but functional. A small old electric range is surprisingly good. The cabinets were a complete disaster when we arrived. The kind where you open them and stuff falls out. I spent several hours organizing them and there was plenty of space once everything was sorted. Lots of cookware, the best of which is a number of cast iron pans in various sizes. We stayed for a full week and I cook a lot so between the cookware supplied and what I brought I had nearly everything needed. They need a new cutting board. The wood one in the kitchen was broken and I can’t use glass cutting boards with the knives I brought. No dishwasher. Very little in way of pantry basics, pack everything.
Altogether we had a lovely visit, just need to be prepared :)

Peace of Paradise
This house was perfect for our family. We vacationed with two grandparents and my family of 5 with 16,14, and 9 yo sons. The house worked well. Covered boat house was great for our boat rental and sea doo. We spent most of our days on the water or fishing under the boat dock. There are roughly 150 steps from the house to the water and a fairly steep climb. But my parents handled it fine (70+ years old). The kitchen was plenty for our group. Porches were great and views that are perhaps the best views at pickwick. 2 minute boat ride to Eastport marina for gas and food. Nice people at marina who were very helpful. Mr Walker was easy to contact and helpful as well. Highly recommend this rental.

Great House and View.
The house was very well maintained for a rental, and the view is awesome. The only thing is that you have to drive 25 plus miles to find a store... Gas, drinks, Ice and other needed vacation items, so you better pack big prepare to drive a while.

Beautiful View
Very remote location, bring everything you need with you. There is however, an abundance of peace and quiet and beautiful views of the river. Boathouse is a plus, but you will get your exercise going up and down the hill. Owner was very easy to work with.

nice rustic cabin, great view
A great get-away. Nice sleeping arrangements, well equipped kitchen, great view. It is a long , steep walk to boat ramp , and the "beach" consist of a small area with rocks, no sand , and a large brush pile. Boat dock is very nice . I would suggest taking every thing you need, no grocery stores nearby.

Amazing!
This house was truly amazing! It's nicer than the pictures. The view is beautiful, the boat slips have a lift, house is well maintained, and it's right on the water. The huge retaining wall they've built also makes the house easy to find on the river. The only downsides would be the last 1/2 mile on your way to the house is a treacherous gravel road. I would have the more skilled driver drive that portion. Also the walk from the house to the dock is probably around 100 steps. It's not that bad, but you don't want to forget something when you make your way down. Our group of 6 had a blast and will definitely be back.
