About this chalet rental
Our beautiful Deer Run Chalet is located in the Stanislaus Forest close to parks, great views, dining, swimming, fishing, hiking, and skiing and has access to a private neighborhood lake...We have many great reviews on other popular reservation portals. You’ll love our chalet with its high vaulted ceilings, wood-burning stove, modern yet rustic decor, comfy beds and high-end furnishings, open kitchen, and the amount of space. Great for couples, solo adventurers, business travelers, families and groups up to 10. Great location close to everything and terrific wkly/monthly discounts!
The Chalet:
Our beautiful chalet has been given modern updates. This includes the bathrooms, kitchen appliances, new flooring throughout, paint and decor, and beautiful log beds and furniture. We have a campfire ring and a lovely covered porch to enjoy the lush surroundings. You'll love this tranquil and relaxing place in the forest.
This chalet has what you need; bedding and pillows for all beds (10 people), bath towels, kitchen utensils and cookware, double oven, dishwasher, coffee pot, toaster, blender, 8 qt slow cooker, some basic items (basic spices and cooking oils, etc.), hand soap, dish soap, and paper products. You will need to bring your own toiletries and beach towels, and extra blankets/pillows/sleeping bag if you have extra guests (more than 10 people).

- Air hockey table
- Beach chairs and cooler for lake use

Guest access:
We will not physically be in the area during your stay. Full access to the chalet is provided, excluding some locked cabinets and a pantry closet for our personal items. There is a master suite with a cal-king bed and a master bath with a whirlpool tub. The upstairs has a full bath and two bedrooms with lovely log furniture and a vaulted ceiling (one room has a queen bed and the other room sleeps 6). All beds have waterproof mattress and pillow covers. There is also an open loft overlooking below. Enjoy relaxing in our large great room with an open kitchen and dining room and updated media center with flat-screen smart TV (and another smart TV upstairs). There are plenty of games and puzzles to enjoy.
We offer access to a beautiful private lake in the Lakemont Pines neighborhood for swimming, fishing or lounging on a kayak or raft, or even a paddle-boat. Full guest access for 5 guests is included with your rental and includes lake use, snack shack and lodge activities (Snack Shack and lodge are typically open from mid-June thru Labor Day). Day-use wristbands for additional guests are $5 each. We are also less than 2 miles from the beautiful, and public, White Pines Lake…so many choices!
We want to ensure that you have a great time so please call us or email us with any questions or concerns during your stay.
NOTE: We love kids, have 3 of our own, but due to the numerous stairs/staircases and lack of child safety gates we feel our chalet is best suited for children 5 yrs and older.
LOCATION: We are ideally located and are a convenient 5 minute drive to the local market, brewery, cafés, ski rentals and rustic shops. We love how centrally located our chalet is!
PARKING: There is an abundance of parking, with two different driveways. We strongly RECOMMEND that lower cars/sedans use the more level parking/driveway to the left of the main driveway. The main driveway has a steep incline at the street line and lower vehicles could have a problem entering/exiting (you’ll understand when you see it. :) 4-wheel drive and lifted vehicles will be fine.
SNOW CLEARING: Although Arnold does not get as much snowfall as Calaveras Big Trees and Bear Valley up Hwy 4, there can be plenty of snow at times, so be prepared with the proper vehicle (four-wheel drive, chains, etc.). We have a snowblower and shovels for your use in the garage if needed. Professional snow clearing of the driveway for an additional cost can be provided if desired, so please inquire if interested ($90-$150 depending on the amount of snow).
Despite the recent snowfall, we are still in the midst of a drought - please conserve water and be careful with fire in the campfire ring.

The cabin was clean, well-stocked, and conveniently located to everything. Unfortunately, the weather didn't really permit us to be by the water, but we did We enjoyed our stay very much!

The home is conveniently situated off Hwy 4 and in a quiet neighborhood. Very clean property, good amount of supplies to make you comfortable and LOTS of options to keep you entertained. Very spacious rooms and the games are a much added bonus. The host is awesome - prompt communication, friendly and did everything to make us feel comfortable.

Excelent house with all amenities. Perfect for families and friends. 5 minutes from grocery store and restaurants. We got a lot of rain but that didn't ruin us our stay since the house is well equiped (games, tv, internet, Ping Pong, air hockey table).
We recommend it.

We stayed at this wonderful home for the Thanksgiving holiday. The house has a large open front room and the kitchen is well outfitted. A bonus was the double oven. The bedrooms were a good size and the beds were comfortable. We had a good time playing air hockey and the table pacman games were fun. We hardily recommend this home.

We loved this property so much! Already planning our next trip. Was perfect for our family of 5. Not a single complaint. Everything in the chalet was awesome.

Arnold Family Vacation
The Deer Run Chalet was perfect for our family. We went on several hikes which were amazing. This includes the big trees north grove and the Arnold Rim Trail to cougar rock, which is definitely a challenging hike but we’ll worth it.
We went to Murphys several times and really enjoyed the wineries and ice cream. Not all of the wineries are top notch but by far our favorite was the Hovey Winery.
The chalet was immaculately maintained and the details in the owner’s book was extremely helpful and accurate. I highly recommend Arnold and the Deer Run Chalet.

Perfect Memorial Day Weekend
We spent a perfect Memorial Day Weekend at this lovely house. The house was perfect for our group and had about everything you could ever wish for. The girls enjoyed the air hockey table and did an impromptu tournament. This house has the best equipped kitchen of every vacation rental I have ever stayed in. Made cooking for a group of 8 a breeze. The location is very convenient and the private lake just down the road is an absolute gem! The owner (Jackie) was very responsive and super easy to deal with. If we ever come back into the area, we'd try to stay here again for sure. Highly recommended!

My favorite summer trip!
My family and I thoroughly loved everyday of this trip! The house is big, clean, fun, and exciting! My kids had a blast and it gave me some time to just enjoy some pace and quiet with my husband. The highlights were the arcade table, air hockey, the b-b guns!!!! And the lake! It was a great time and the owners are very kind and flexible! I hope to visit again!

This was a very relaxing and enjoyable stay. The cabin was well taken care of. All amenities were available. Game tables for kids/teens. Centrally located to lakes, grocery store, restaurants, hiking, and fishing. Great communication with owner. We will be back again!

Such an amazing getaway
The property owners really have thought of everything. Book it! You won’t be disappointed! We had never been to the area and loved exploring but also just loved hanging out at the house. The place has such a homey feel. Our kids loved the air hockey table and arcade games and my younger kids were so excited when they found the trains in the closet. My kids are all 3+ and I would probably be hesitant if traveling with a younger toddler because of the stairs and banister but the owners even have a baby gate at the bottom of the stairs. They really have thought of everything possible to make your stay as relaxing as possible. The master bed was very comfortable with the topper on the mattress and the jacuzzi tub was very relaxing. This was by far the best vacation rental I have stayed in and we hope to come back someday!!

Another great visit!
This house is wonderful, and we were so happy to be back for a second visit! Not only is there lots to do at the house (air hockey, video game table, totes of toys for the kids) but it’s easy to get to Big Trees, Bear Valley, Murphy’s, and more. We love it, hoping visit #3 isn’t far away :)

The Honnymoon Destination of our Dreams!!
Location of the cabin is perfect. Close to grocery store and shopping. Beautiful grounds with wildlife throughout the day. If your an overpacker, you might want to cut back because this cabin is STOCKED. Kitchen is stocked with much more than needed for cooking. Linens in abundance. Inside of the cabin features an open floor plan that is still cozy. More amenities then we can remember to list off. Highly recommend this place to recharge, relax, and enjoy what Arnold has to offer. Host are amazing to work with and very considerate of those they host. We will definitely try to come back as often as possible.

Awesome Family Getaway!
We stayed for 3 nights in this very beautiful, well-maintained, comfortable cabin home with so much for everyone to do, including our teenagers who loved the video game console upstairs (with over 400 games), the air hockey table in the garage, puzzles, etc. My husband and I enjoyed having a master bedroom and bathroom away from the kids, and we cooked breakfast every morning in the well-appointed kitchen, which was extremely well-equipped. The location was central to everything including Big Trees State Park, the grocery store, and restaurants. The homeowner(s) were excellent - we had great communication throughout. They were always very prompt and helpful with our inquiries, and they really care about the folks who plan to enjoy their cabin. It was a pleasure to work with them. We visited during a heatwave in the area (over 100 degrees) and were concerned about not having A/C, but the trees provided so much shade and there are fans throughout the house so we were always comfortable during our stay. We also did a load of laundry before we left, which was inside the home, super convenient, and well-stocked. That made for a nice return home with clean clothes. We definitely recommend this cabin, and look forward to our next stay!

Perfect in every way
We’ve stayed at a lot of VRBOs, but I have never stayed at one that was so fully stocked! We came prepared with so many items that we didn’t need (because they were already there!) From games to beach chairs to kitchen gadgets to extra pillows... and everything in-between... they had it!
The house is super clean and organized, the location is central to everything (we went to White Pines Lake, Calaveras Big Trees, and Ironstone Amphitheater for a concert), the owners are friendly and very responsive... I honestly have nothing negative to say about this place. I would definitely stay there again!

Beautiful Home near Bear Valley
Terrific facilities near beautiful Sierra lakes and hiking trails. The house is beautifully decorated, wonderful for families, and very well-equipped from cooking utensils to games. The campfire ring was great. We had lots of fun at the neighborhood lake, trying out their various swim toys, and the kids especially enjoyed their snowball fights at Lake Alpine, completely unexpected in mid-June. Thanks for making our stay so memorable.

We had a wonderful experience at this property. It was very clean and had everything we could possibly need. We loved it!!!

Great place for family
The house was very neat and comfortable. The hosts were super friendly and responsive. Lots of space for 4 adults and 2 kids. Everyone slept well- the beds were comfy. The kids loved the video game table and the air hockey! We were lucky to have snow right out our door, and the drive to the nearest sno-park was really easy, maybe 15-20 minutes. We were happy to be able to borrow sleds from the hosts. It's a short stay from Murphys, also. That is a super cute town: lots of tasting rooms, Firewood restaurant had good family friendly food, good prices. We also popped into the local book store, the toy store and Nelson's Candy Kitchen (twice). Missed out on the cavern tour, though. Oh, well, next time! We'd love to visit during the summer. It's so beautiful and mellow out there in Arnold.

Beautiful home & wonderful snow weekend
This home is really fabulous and beautifully designed. It has a great layout and was really spacious for our two families. The air hockey and old school video games were a big hit with parents and kids alike. Sledding and skiing up in Bear Valley was a blast. We all want to return in the summer to have some lake fun.

Wonderful Arnold Rental
To state this home was amazing, would simply be an understatement. Of the rental homes we've stayed at over the years, this was BY FAR the cleanest, the best stocked, and the most organized (with complete instructions on all items of house). We utilized the, included, five passes to private lake for an spectacular day on the water with fun-filled kayaks, paddleboats, cornhole, ping pong, and even rented a couple paddleboards at nearby rental store. Owners, throughout entire process, we quick to respond to questions. We had nine in our party and the home accommodated us flawlessly (large dining table was the best!!!). We will definitely be coming back to enjoy this wonderful home and area.

One of the best vacation rentals we have used!
Everything about this stay was wonderful. Contact with the owners before our stay was helpful and courteous.
The house itself is beautiful, well maintained, and VERY WELL ORGANIZED. The owners, Jackie and Mark, even took the extra step of labeling all those pesky light switches, so we knew right away which switch went to what light.
The house has nice amenities and comfortable beds and pillows. It is also less than 10 minutes away from Big Trees State Park, and all that the park has to offer.
We look forward to staying here again!

Great vacation getaway
This place had everything a family needs to have fun on vacation. Activities were enjoyed by young adults and parents. We used the tags for Lakemont Pines access and returned in the evenings for dinner around the spacious dining room table. Would totally recommend this place to anyone vacationing around Arnold summer or winter
