Searching for the perfect location for your next family reunion or business retreat? Look no further than Park Place & Boardwalk in Rockaway Beach! With partial ocean views, an expansive covered deck, and all the comforts of home, this charming duplex makes a spacious and fantastic vacation headquarters just across from the sandy shore. Its two distinct units, with combined eight bedrooms and four full baths, make it easy to share a large property that can comfortably accommodate everyone!
As a duplex, each distinct side offers the privacy of a self-contained space, but with lots of room to mingle. The main living areas of each unit are located on the upper floor to make the most of this house's partial ocean views. Containing a cozy living area, full kitchen and dining nook, each space offers plenty of room to spread out and relax in groups or find a private, solitary spot to rejuvenate.
Both living areas have hardwood floors and are decorated in soothing neutral tones, with multiple sofas to provide an abundance of seating. Cable TVs with DVD players are located in each great room, so you can make some popcorn and take turns hosting movie nights after long, lazy days of beachcombing, kite flying or bird watching. The front wall in each space is made up of wide picture windows and sliding glass doors that lead out to the separated deck, filling each space with natural light and allowing you to enjoy the beach town views throughout the open living rooms.
The kitchens are fully stocked with all the pots and pans, dinnerware, and serving utensils needed to prepare meals for the group, including dishwashers for easy clean-up. Grab a stool at the breakfast bar for a quick snack, or gather around the dining table by the ample windows for a dinner with a sunset view. Open the sliding doors and gain even more space to get together. Outside, each deck has a gas grill for lively summer barbecues.
The secluded master bedroom is located on the upper floor in each duplex, with gorgeous handcrafted king beds (one with a canopy, while the other has a curtained four poster frame), carpeting and separate small sitting areas. Each master suite also has a private, full bath on this level.
Heading downstairs, in addition to a large family room with sofa, cable TV, and plenty of space for kids to play board games or puzzles, each duplex has three more bedrooms, a full bath, a laundry room with washer/dryer and WiFi throughout. Two bedrooms on each side offer plush queen beds, and the third has two sets of twin bunk beds for up to four younger guests. Altogether, twenty guests (ten in each duplex) can share this eight-bedroom combined space very comfortably, and there are plenty of warm blankets, fresh linens, and fluffy towels provided for everyone.
The dog-friendly retreat also has a nicely-sized backyard, so there's green space to move the party outside. This prime location in Rockaway Beach boasts seven miles of sandy beach, accessed just steps from your door. The shops and dining at the center of town are just six blocks to the north and Twin Rocks State Park is one mile to the south. This home is well positioned for guests who want to be close to all the action, yet still enjoy plenty of peace and quiet.

Was very nice to be able to fit all of our extended families.. walking distance to the beach

We had 20 people at the property. With beach so close, many showers were taken after beach activities. With only 4 baths, it was the most used place in the house.

Close to beach. Wasn't as clean as I would like and it wasn't ready for us to check in on time

Overall this place was well enjoyed by our family. A little on the pricey side, but that’s probably typical for this location in the summer

Great proximity to the beach in a quiet neighborhood, with plenty of room for our family gathering of 15 people and 3 dogs!

So close to the beach. Plenty of room which was delightful. Kitchens were well stocked with everything you might need. Beds were comfortable. Heaters if you are cold, or fans if you are warm. Lovely place for a weekend with family.

We loved all the room and the open balcony that joined both units. There are stairs that go up to the kitchen and living rooms, so if you have elderly this may not be the right rental for you. The king-size bedrooms were amazing and both units were very clean.

We had a FANTASTIC visit! Please, Please, Please replace the King size mattress!

Our whole family, 19 of us came to celebrate our 50th wedding anniversary, and the house was perfect for the 19 of us! The beach access was wonderful, and having four areas of the house, where various smaller groups of us could gather was perfect. The house was clean and well-maintained, and the kitchen was perfectly stocked for family meals. Great experience!

Excellent location and plenty of room for the eleven adults and four children in our family group.

The properties were well maintained and gave us the ability to come together as a big group or break apart into smaller groups as needed. We especially enjoyed being able to go between properties on the upper deck. It rained pretty consistently so we spent quite a bit of time inside and it worked well for us.

We had an incredible 3 night stay at this property. There were 17 of us and the sleeping situation was perfect. The 7 kids stayed in the two bunk rooms and all adults and couples had their own bedrooms! The rooms were plenty spacious and the bathrooms were clean (bring your own soap- none is provided).
There were plenty of beach toys (even though we brought our own) and lots of games and puzzles. The dvd player on the boardwalk side was a little wonky - no remote to be able to control the movie so we just had to do auto start and let it run.
The house is in great shape with tasteful decor. The kitchen was well stocked, though the knives could really use a sharpening (I’ll bring my own next time - it was pretty hard to cut onions and apples). I liked how there were a few seasonings in the cupboard (cumin, onion powder, salt, baking powder, etc), but bring your own Saran Wrap and tinfoil or ziplock baggies if you use those. There was always plenty of comfortable seating and the kids could play downstairs while the grownups relaxed upstairs. There are tons of blankets and extra pillows so no one was ever cold or uncomfortable.
There is a view of the ocean from the top floor which is so nice. You can watch the sunset right from the deck! The beach is so close, and we were able to pickup a beach wheelchair for my 93 year old grandma who was just tickled that we were so close and that we could push her. (Wheelchair can be picked up in town right across from troxel’s rock shop - it is free and public access!).
We also drove up the coast 8 miles one day and swam at the North County Recreation district pool, which the kids loved. We rode the train (pretty spendy for that short ride - we won’t do that again).
All around, we hope to return to this place and enjoy beach stays in the future!

The duplex really worked out well for us.

We booked this for a family get together. Nice space on both sides with plenty of room for 11 across the two spaces.
There is shared access on the deck via a door making for easy back and forth traffic.
The space was clean when we arrived and the kitchen large and well supplied. The electric fireplace on the 640 space is a nice touch. At the time of this review the 640 side has a Traeger BBQ and the 630 side has a gas BBQ with extra propane tank.
Nice laundry room on both sides, convenient for drying rain soaked clothing.
They do accept dogs and there is a backyard area, but it isn't fenced, so dogs need to be monitored and on leash. There is no back access, you have to go out the front and walk alongside the house on either side.
Beach access is just down the street and the beach is clear and open with a short easy to walk path.
Plenty of parking for 5 vehicles.
We did have a few problems in that there was a heavy wind storm that knocked down a section of gutter which banged against the house and a window all night. It made sleep difficult on that side.. The power was going on and off intermittently as well. When Vacasa was contacted, they promised a return call and maintenance assistance. This never happened. We had to go out in the wind and rain to secure the gutter in the morning.
The next day the power went out for good. No heat, no light and the cell access went out shortly after. On the positive sign we found 8 eLanterns that we were able to use to provide light and get around the spaces without injury. They could also charge phones via a USB port. Good job and well done to the owners for this foresight! We were also able to do some basic cooking on the gas grill that evening.
Although we had a four night reservation, we had to leave after the second night because of the lack of power and heat.
We cleaned up as best we could with no vacuum or light, but apologize for not doing our usual job of leaving a place cleaner than we found it.
Hopefully we can get some kind of credit or refund from Vacasa for the unused time and dog fees. They have not returning repeated phone calls or messages. We did speak to a Supervisor, but have not received the promised return call two days later. Not very impressed with Vacasa.

Many rooms and convenient

The house was exactly as described. Short walk to the beach and having 2 fridge/kitchens was a plus.
The oven was broken in one house and Vacasa did a good job communicating.
The oven that worked set off the smoke detector every time we used it- even though no items were burning. When one smoke detector goes off, it triggers all of them in the house. This was unfortunate when there were napping babies and that it happened every time we used the oven.
One of the other reviews mentioned not enough toilet paper. This was an issue for us and we only rented the homes for 3 nights. We had to go out and buy more toilet paper mid stay.
We loved that this home allowed multiple dogs! And the beach toys provided were great for the kids.

We had my dad 80th birthday here. Having the two separate dwellings made it really nice considering we had so many people. I would definitely recommend this place for large groups and it is just a hop and skip to the beach.

We rented both units and had plenty of room for all our 13 family members plus 4 dogs. The great room on either side is big enough to gather and the extra kitchen helped with meal prep. It’s only a few steps to the beautiful beach. And an easy drive to Tillamook for shopping. We’ll be back!

Plenty of room for everyone, clean and comfortable. Easy walk to the beach for family fun and watching beautiful sunsets.

Overall good

Our extended family group of 8 had a lovely time on the Oregon coast and enjoyed our stay in Park Place and Boardwalk. For the most part, the accommodations were very comfortable, but we did encounter a few bumps.
What went right:
The bedrooms and bathrooms were exactly as described and a good fit for an extended family group with a wide range of ages.
There were plenty of pots, pans, dishes, and utensils.
It was lovely to be so near the beach. Although there really isn’t a view (except a sliver of one from the Boardwalk side of the duplex), we enjoyed the sound of the water and being so close to the beach.
While there is not a lot happening in Rockaway Beach itself, the town is a convenient distance from Manzanita, Cannon Beach, Seaside, and Tillamook (which has a Fred Meyer and Safeway).
Where there’s room for improvement:
We arrived around 7pm, after a long drive, to discover that one side of the duplex had not been fully cleaned. There were lots of crumbs and some hair on rugs, floor, and couches. In addition, we found a large pile of used towels in the laundry room and a full washer and dryer. To Vacasa’s credit, their customer service contact responded immediately to my call, sending two people to the house to finish the cleaning (even though it was Saturday night) and refunding our cleaning fee. Our group appreciated their prompt response.
We were advised on the first night that the dryer on the other side of the duplex wasn’t working and asked not to use it. This wasn’t a huge hardship because the dryer on the other side was working, but it was an inconvenience.
There was no Wi-Fi on one side. Vacasa’s support contact advised us that the people on that side should use the Wi-Fi from the other side. While we made this work, the signal was weak. It would not have been an acceptable solution had anyone in our group been dependent on Wi-Fi for work or if the people staying on the two sides of the duplex hadn’t been together.
It would be safer if there were grab bars to hold onto while exiting and entering the bathtub/showers.
Aside from these relatively minor issues, all went well, and we look forward to visiting the Oregon Coast again in the future.

We really enjoyed our stay for a family reunion. The location was perfect, and having two kitchens was especially helpful.
The rental is managed through Vacasa and we had a difficult time communicating with them through the VRBO app. I did have to call to get our check-in information since I didn’t receive the email but the representative was very helpful. If you rent this property and have questions, I would call Vacasa directly.
Even with the difficulty communicating, we would stay here again. Beautiful location! It was nice being further south from the more touristy areas as it felt like we had the beach to ourselves.

The place is very convenient for the number of party I have.

We loved being together. The front glass doors were well used. The sleeping quarters we convenient. A few complained about the bed but its always hard when your away from home. We loved the convenience of the beach. We maybe could have used one more bathroom but we had a lot of teenage girls.

We had we had three generations staying with us. It had been a long time since we had all been together so this was a big treat to all of us.
The weather was good but didn’t cooperate with us a few days. But that’s ok. We still enjoyed ourselves.
This duplex was perfect for what we needed. There were plenty of bedrooms. We only had a backup on the bathrooms a couple of times. There were plenty of towels for everyone. The gathering places were great. The adults could be together and the kids still had rooms to go to be together. Kitchen was great. Laundry facilities were very useful. We did need to go get some bleach and run it through each washer before use to try to get the mold and moldy smell gone. I think that is a common problem with front loaders. I think that is the only thing that needed to be attended to.
The beach was wonderful and a short easy walk.
If we returned to this area and had 17 of us again we would put this house at the top of our list.

close to the beach, ocean view from top deck, kitchens were well supplied, laundry rooms were very helpful, and gathering spaces were comfortable.
suggestions: 4 rolls of TP not enough for 14 people for a week. a couple of the queen beds were not as comfortable as the rest of the beds. although great kitchen items, they were unevenly sorted between the kitchens.
still highly recommend and would consider again if we have the big group. thank you!!

Perfect for a large group
We had a family of 19 persons and this duplex held us very nicely ! The beach is across the road and quite close, It was a wonderful family week end and we all thought we need a extra day or 2 next year!

Overall it was a great stay. We loved that it was roomy enough to all be together but was set up to allow for private space and quiet time also. Biggest drawbacks were the BBQ grills were filthy and not working. We managed to finally get 1 1/2 burners working. Also, remotes were missing for the tv's. And the bed in the master bedroom of Broadway was not level. The head of the bed was about 3 feet lower than the foot.. And a last minor item is that only 2 garbage bags were provided and 2 dishwasher soap pods. But we had a great time.

Beach house
We had a wonderful family stay, however there were some obstacles. The BBQs were in horrible condition and one of the 2 didn’t work at all. There was also one toilet that had to be plunged after each use. Check in was changed the day of arrival from 4pm to 6pm, then after several phone calls I got a text that we could check in at 4pm, but when we got there, they were still cleaning. Hard to just wait with several young kids.

Great family gathering spot
This served our need very well. We had 6 couples and it was nice to have 6 rooms with king and queen beds. The bunk rooms were good for the grandkids. The great rooms were good for gathering. The only complaint was that the supplies were lacking., We had to buy paper towels, salt and toilet paper. It would have been nice to have some camp chairs for the beaches. We had to buy those too. It was nice to have dishwashers, but a disposal would have been nice. There were plenty of towel, blankets and bedding. Overall it worked very well for us and we had a great time.
