About this apartment rental
Your home away from home that is all about R&R and reconnecting with the outdoors. A spacious modern suite with all you need for a perfect get away. There is no TV so you can thoroughly enjoy the peace & quiet. We do have free wifi. Cell phone coverage is spotty. Enjoy your coffee or wine out on the deck listening to nature. We have a gorgeous secluded 25 acre wooded lot. Enjoy!
This suite was all built by Brett over 3 years; completed in 2011. All appliances are new full sized stainless steel. Soap stone corner sink. Granite counter. A dining table that seats 4. Linens are provided for short term guests. If you are staying longer than 2 weeks we do ask you provide your own linens (queen sized sheets & towels). We have plenty of blankets & quilts for both beds. The sofa pulls out easily & has a very comfortable larger mattress. The bathroom has a standup spacious glass corner shower with over head heater, light & fan. Washer & dryer are located in the bathroom. Please bring your own laundry soap. Just ask to use the BBQ grill (you'll need your own charcoal). The corner gas wood stove heats the space nicely.
We are in an outdoor paradise with all winter, summer, spring, and fall activities. Just 90 minutes from Boston, 45 minutes from the Manchester airport, 20 minutes from Colby Sawyer College in New London.
Summer is absolutely gorgeous in New England. Weather varies & frequently changes but can range from 50-80's. We do have a window unit air conditioner if needed. And there is a very large ceiling fan.
Fall leaf peeping is at it's best here in NH peeking around 2nd week of October (depending on the weather) and going for a long drive or hike is a must.
Winter adventure is all around as we are very close to skiing at Mt. Sunapee Resort, Ragged Mountain, Pats Peak, and Eastman Cross Country Center. We generally cross country ski the nearby snowmobile trails. You can snowshoe our property for some great exercise.
4 Wheel drive and or All wheel drive are highly recommended in this area. The house is located ~1 mile off the main road and is a very compact dirt road. The road is town maintained for snow plowing and sanding.

Great home base for a ski vacation
This was a perfect home base for our family of four to enjoy a few days of skiing at Mt Sunapee. All the thoughtful details made it feel like home and it was so convenient to be able to cook up meals and wash our ski clothes after a long day of skiing. Thanks for a great stay!

very peaceful and quiet
I was very pleased with this rental, it was very peaceful and quiet. My daughter is student over a Colby-Sawyer College and needed a weekend away from the dorms to do some studying and this fit the bill perfectly. Even with unexpected snow it wasn't a problem going down the dirt road and up the driveway. The apartment was spotless, although a little chilly the first day. The heat hadn't been on very long but the gas fireplace warmed it up nicely! With that being said, if you rent in the winter, bring your slippers...the floor is cold, socks aren't enough. The apartment is over a garage!!
All in all it was a great rental! And would recommend it.

Quiet and relaxing
Had a wonderful trip, loved the suite it was private and had its own entrance. The studio itself was lovely and so was the view. Cindi and Brett were kind and helpful. I loved that there were many books and some games in the studio. A great place to escape to if you want something quiet and detached.

Enjoyable area to explore
The studio was comfortable, clean and quiet. Cindi and Brett were great hosts-available if needed. They greeted us when we arrived and gave us some advice on dining and outdoor adventures and put the ac in the window which we needed one night.
We rode our mountain bikes on the Sugar River Trial which was beautiful, but the trail had some sandy spots that made it very difficult to pedal. There were several ATV's on the trail also which was fine except when they came by and kicked up a lot of dust.
We also did a 2-mile climb to the summit of Mt. Sunapee which was a great trail but difficult if you are not in decent shape. The view at the summit was beautiful. You could also take a ski lift to the top and walk down the mountain. The Adventure Park was also open with other cool stuff to try especially for families.
The State Beach also rents kayaks/canoes for an hour or a half day starting Memorial Day weekend.
Flying Goose had great nachos and my husband loved the beer brewed on site. They have a solar-powered brewery on site that we would have loved to have checked out but Brewer works weekdays only.
Pizza at Bubba's was good - wood fired pizza oven. Grab a pizza to go and find a spot across the street overlooking the lake.
Sanctuary Farm Ice Cream was delicious - fun place to hang out with kids. Animals to pet, etc.
Mill Stone on Main St. had delicious food, drinks and excellent service. French Dip was delicious.
Sunapee Harbor was quaint with shops and small restaurants. Preservation Center was worth a visit.

Great studio, perfect for 2-4 people, very friendly owners
The studio is perfect for 2-4 people - huge, well-stocked, with large windows overlooking woods, a large deck & private entry. Conveniently located near Mt. Sunapee Ski Resort. Also, bunch of convenience stores & super markets nearby or on the way close-by. Cindi & Brett are very friendly & accommodating. When I forgot to buy eggs on my way, Cindi readily provided their own farm-grown, organic eggs. We will definitely come back and I highly recommended Cindi-Brett's Studio.

Our Second Visit to Chicken Farmer...
When we decided to return to New England this fall there was no question where we would stay. We were thrilled to be able to visit "Chicken Farmer I Love You" once again. We had a delightful stay in this quiet mountain retreat. Everything was just as we remembered...a lovely, cozy studio in a beautiful, tranquil setting. Cindi and Brett are such gracious hosts and made sure that our every need was met. We highly recommend this property for a quiet get-away and hope to come again.

Beautiful studio near sunapee mountain
We had a lovely stay here. Brett and Cindi were great hosts and had great suggestions for the area. The studio was very close to Sunapee, which made it perfect for a ski getaway. The room has a nice little kitchenette and was very private.

New England Vacation
My husband and I visited New England for the first time this fall. Our stay in Cindi and Brett's studio couldn't have been more perfect for us. This pretty, comfortable, and clean studio located in a gorgeous and peaceful setting was a delightful "home away from home" while we toured New England. Our hosts made every effort to make us feel welcomed and comfortable, and were available to meet our needs. The rental exceeded our expectations and we would highly recommend it to anyone seeking a quiet and peaceful get-away in a beautiful setting. Our only regret...we live so far away that we can't visit more often!!
Thank you, Cindi and Brett, for an absolutely wonderful vacation experience in your lovely studio rental. I do hope we can come again.

Our "go-to" stay in Newbury
My wife has family and friends in the area, and we have now stayed with Cindi and Brett numerous times when we visit (and are planning more stays). They are very welcoming and the apartment is a perfect "home away from home." Highly recommended!

A fantastic and peaceful retreat
I grew up in a small town but have to fly into Boston for business and I'm confident that I couldn't have found a better place to stay or better hosts nearly anywhere. I'm not a friend, relative or business associate but I felt as if they treated me like I was all of the above. It was a great way to relax. Lakes nearby, a friendly pub or two with decent food (try the fried Seafood platter). Some gift shops and art galleries...a stream..a fly shop. A little bit of everything for anyone.

The accommodations exceeded our expectations!

Quiet & Calming w/ only 1 bar of cell service
Quiet & peaceful w/ just about everything you need. Clean & orderly. It is off the beaten path on back roads so even though the distance to nearby attractions are not far it does take longer. We ate @ Bubbas the 1st night but you need to get there before 9:00 & that was on a Friday night.
Owners were super nice & extremely helpful & accommodating.

Loved its so much we stayed the rest of the winter!
Simply perfect from the Studio (bigger than you think) to the hosts Brett and Cindi feeding us up with home-made cakes. We stayed every weekend over the winter we could. Felt like coming home.
I can give you the usual adjectives - comfortable, clean, quiet etc.

Sister's Retreat
My sister and I found this to be a very lovely place to stay while we enjoyed the Lake Sunapee area for a few days. Cindi and Brett were wonderful hosts. The very spacious studio apartment was spotless, had a super comfy bed, comfortable couch, and a kitchen area. The deck outside provided a great place to enjoy some refreshments and see the fabulous night sky - very private and very quiet. A little off the beaten track, but we loved it and would highly recommend
