About this cabin rental
Location, location, location! My cabin is within 6 miles of the New River Gorge Bridge in a secluded wooded area. The cabin has two bedrooms, and a sleeper sofa, a full kitchen and a hot tub. The cabin is 6 miles form Adventures on the Gorge (AOTG). AOTG is the largest adventure resort in the state. They offer whitewater rafting, zip lines (2 courses), rock climbing/rappelling, mountain biking, Timber Trek (obstacle course in the trees-new), paint ball, stand up paddle boarding, kayaking and much more. They have three restaurants/bars. I am the founder and retired CEO of AOTG and I would be glad to help you plan your trip or answer any questions about the resort or the area in general.
When you visit Fayetteville, you’ll find a small town with a lot going on. It’s a great place to visit on vacation- friendly folks, great shopping/restaurants, small town atmosphere, and world class thrills, right next door to the New River Gorge National River and Bridge. Bring a taste for excitement and a desire to relax. We will handle the rest.

Was a nice little cabin, just right for husband and I celebrating our 50th wedding anniversary. It was very convenient for us to site see in the many places around the New River. Had everything we needed. It was quite and cozy.

We stayed for two nights and I wish we had a few more! The cabin was adorable and comfortable. The hot tub was great after a day of hiking at New River Gorge. Don’t miss the Glade Creek Grist Mill falls a few miles away also. We would come back and we would highly recommend!

Place is not far off 19 so getting to Fayetteville and New River trails was super easy. We had a great time and enjoyed the hot tub.

Loved it. I’ll be back soon

This property has multiple cabins right next to each other so no privacy. Cabin is right off main road so be ready for road noise. Deadlock on our cabin took multiple times of code entry to engage. Found front porch kitchen window was not closed completely or latched. VERY soft mattress. Screen door does not latch. Had to pull or push closed. Porch swing in need of repair.

Booked 3 nights to hike the New River Gorge National Park trails. This was a great location for our "base camp". Very convenient to the NP trails and restaurants. Cabin was well equipped and highly functional.

My son and I had a fantastic time, the cabin is clean, and everything was as advertised!

everything was overall very good. hot tub was already ready to go; appliances worked well. the chair swing outside collapsed while in use, but fortunately nobody was badly injured. location was quite ideal. would have liked more amenities like soap/shampoo for shower; more towels; toothpaste; but overall quite good

It was a nice clean cabin with a big yard and fireplace. It was nice to sit out in the evening with a campfire.

This was a family vacation, with some coming from the Midwest and some coming up from the South. The cabin was clean and looks exactly like the pictures. It was comfortable enough for our party of 5 to sleep well, shower with hot water, and enjoy the hot tub. The price was on target. The location was perfect for all of the hiking, water rafting and restaurants. We were set back far enough off the road to feel secluded. We had free access to the washer & dryer. We left the place as we found it, although the owner was kind enough not to have any check out policies. Most VRBO rentals want you to do laundry, sweep, take out trash and etc. We highly recommend Mountaineer cabins. We would return again, since our family dynamics are likely to not change.

It was a pleasant stay. Hot tub was nice. Bedrooms were clean my only complaint with the bedroom was the matress was too soft for my liking. Bathroom was clean but the shower was a little small. Not enough non slip applications on the floor (I almost fell) and there are no hand rails. Good stay though.

Enjoyed our stay - house was comfortable and a convenient location relative to activities, but the road is loud until later at night.

The experience with the cabin was excellent. This was for my honeymoon and it couldn’t have went better.
The location, cleanliness and amenities of the cabin were perfect.
It’s secluded but close to all the area has to offer. New River offerings, Babcock and Hawks Nest State Parks, food, fun and adventure.
The hot tub, cabin and laundry were all clean and in perfect working order. The fireplace contributed to many relaxing evenings.
I will definitely stay here again and I highly encourage anyone else looking to enjoy the splendor of the area to do the same.

This cabin was great and it was just perfect! A full sized refrigerator, a complete kitchen, the cabin was extremely clean, perfect private hot tub that was screened in so no bugs!!! Great living room with an awesome fireplace (need to bring your own wood which can be easily purchased from the Exxon 2 minutes down the road). Awesome front porch, an outside picnic table with fire pit which was awesome! Also, a charcoal grill on the front porch(need to bring your own charcoal which can be easily purchased 6 minutes down the road from the food store). Overall, a perfect and great stay! Will definitely stay here again and would highly recommend staying! Also, less than 10 minutes, to the national park and 2 state parks with great hiking! Great cabin!!!

Perfect Location! Our teen enjoyed it alot! Great Spring Break 4 day getaway! 2 bedrooms and a pull out sofa. Nice fireplace, wifi, direct tv, boardgames, and HOT TUB! We came from Indiana and went to Moundsville State Penitentiary Tour (very interesting), stayed overnight at Holiday Inn Express (very nice&24 hr pool) then drove next morning to Point Plesant-town of Mothman. Visited shops and museum then ate at Village Pizza and had a delicious pizza and wings. When we arrived at this comfy cabin. Beds were comfy, fire and hottub relaxing, lots of board games and very clean and relaxing. We did the Bridge walk tour and ate lunch in Fayetteville at the Wood Iron-yum! And visited shops. Finished up at Hawks Nest State park and ate dinner at the hotel restaurant overlooking the gorge called the Gorge Overlook Restaurant-highly recommend!!! Another small yummy friendly place. This cabin is close to everything yet secluded and quiet and relaxing!!! We want to come back in Summertime and white water raft and venture out more-so much to see and do. Nice Adventure and Nice cabin made it relaxing and comfortable. Thank you!!!

Perfect cabin in very close proximity to the National Park. It was super clean and well stocked with things you may need during your stay. Hot tub was hot and clean and very private. Fireplace was great, but you'll need to provide your own wood which is a non issue. Overall very pleased!

Really enjoyed the stay it was extremely cold outside so I was a Lil cold the first night inside the cabin. We probably spent $100 extra for firewood. We enjoyed the fireplace and the hot tub. I would definitely stay again.

Everything was great until Saturday night Bunch of cars parking in front of the cabin a rented. I was enjoying the hot tub and relaxing that was the purpose but all this cars parking in front of the hot tub. People were loud and my boyfriend and I didn’t feel comfortable with all that people there even though the hot tub was private it was annoying to hear and see all these people. Lots of people for one cabin. I couldn’t enjoy my Saturday night at all. The cabin was great.

We stayed here while visiting the nearby national park, as well as state parks. The cabin felt remote and private, but was 10-15 minutes away from almost everything we wanted to do!
Check-in was super easy. Communication was great and the host accommodated us with an early check-in before we did the bridge walk tour. He also provided wonderful food suggestions!
The cabin had more than enough space for the two of us! The shower had great water pressure and was hot right away. The full-sized fridge was perfect for us to freeze our icepacks and keep our food in.
The hot tub was a highlight for sure! It was private and PERFECT at the end of the day after hiking. Being enclosed with a screen helped with bugs (mosquitoes) too - I usually am a magnet but didn't get bit.

Great cabin for a hiking and rafting getaway

First, we were impressed by the ease and clarity of the instructions for access to the property. Then, we were impressed with the cleanliness of the cottage.
There were some things that seemed a bit "tired" and in disrepair that were less impressive. Like the old saggy beds (both rooms) and tiny shower.
As we were leaving, someone came to drain the hot tub and get things ready for the next guest. I really appreciated that. Knowing it was drained, cleaned and refilled for us--made it feel extra nice!
