About this house rental
Buck Horn Lodge is located at 3800' above Maggie Valley with spectacular views of downtown Maggie Valley as well as near and distant mountains. We are located near the end of the road with no other homes in view where the cool breezes blow.
The secluded home is furnished with everything you need for a relaxed vacation.
In the kitchen there's a range, refrigerator w/ice maker, microwave, blender, toaster, Keurig & coffee pot w/filters, toaster oven, toaster, lots of pots and pans, dishes and silverware.
The large dining room table seats 8 and there's a table on the deck for outside meals. Also on the deck are 6 rocking chairs for reading, morning coffee, or afternoon relaxing. The night time view of the valley with the lights is spectacular.
The living room features a large fireplace (firewood is furnished), 2 leather recliners, a love seat leather recliner, two Lazy Boy recliners, and a smart tv. WIFI is provided. You can log into your streaming services on all televisions in the house.
This home is NOT motorcycle friendly due to the curves and rough gravel.
Featuring a large Master Bedroom with it's own private deck. You can enjoy your morning coffee in the King size bed and watch the birds, squirrels, and chipmunks play on the deck. There are hummingbird feeders with lots of hummingbirds flying back and forth feeding. In the evening you can retreat to the bedroom and enjoy the electric fireplace, watch TV, or enjoy the view of downtown Maggie Valley at night. The Master Bath features a large shower and spacious vanity. There's plenty of space for your clothes in the walk-in closet. There is an A/C for times when the cooling breezes are not cool enough (which doesn't happen very often).
Upstairs there are two large bedrooms each with a kingsize bed. Each room has a smart TV. These two bedrooms share a bathroom with a tub/shower that is located between the bedrooms. Each bedroom has it's own A/C unit for the rare night when they are needed.
The basement has a small bedroom with a queen size bed. This bedroom has it's own private bath with a shower. Just outside the bedroom is a sitting room with a smart TV.
There is also a washer/dryer downstairs (bring your own laundry detergent).
Located in the garage is a gas grill and a charcoal grill(bring your own charcoal) for cooking out and a ping pong table (the paddle boards are not included with the house).
If you are looking for some exercise take a walk to the top of the mountain. It's about 1 1/2 miles and in the summer you can pick blackberries to eat or make a blackberry cobbler. When you get to the top the views are spectacular. Be sure and take some water.
Maggie Valley has lots of shops and restaurants. There's two parks on Jonathan Creek, one on each end of the strip, where the kids can play in the cold water creek.
Also nearby is Waynesville with more shopping and dining; Lake Junaluska for beautiful walks around the lake, tenis/pickleball courts, paddleboard/kayak renals; Cataloochee Valley where you can view the elk in the evening and tour old homesteads; the Blue Ridge Parkway with its views; Harrah's Casino in Cherokee; Biltmore Estate in nearby Asheville; Great Smokey Mountains National Park, and lots of hiking trails and waterfalls.

Cabin was better than advertised and all contact with owners was both pleasant and helpful. This will be our first choice for all future stays in or near Maggie Valley. The view of Maggie Valley and surrounding mountains from the deck is probably the best that any cabin has to offer.

We stayed here with our 3 daughters, their spouses, and our granddaughter. There was plenty of room for everyone. The house was stocked with everything we needed! We were pleasantly surprised to find spices and lots of pots and pans to make our cheeseburger soup! I would recommend this place to anyone wanting to escape for a while and enjoy God's beautiful creation in a spacious, clean home!

Amazing view
Great cabin, view and host. My family had a lot of fun there. My wife is afraid of heights, so the road up to the cabin made her nervous. I thought it made it unique and secluded yet close enough to get in to downtown. Really fun setup. Will stay there again

Enjoyable Family Christmas
We had a great time being together as a family enjoying Christmas at Buck Horn. The house had everything we needed. The only issue we had was unexpected winter weather made getting to the house very difficult. The owner was very attentive and lined up a neighbor to help us get back up to the house. Overall a great time and would love to visit again.

Magical Place
Our family loved this beautiful cabin up high in the mountains with a view of Maggie Valley. We enjoyed the wildlife. We saw hummingbirds, all kinds of other birds, chipmunks, flying squirrels, bats, and a raccoon at the house. We saw a baby bear crossing the road on the Blue Ridge Parkway and of course the elk. We had everything we needed at the house.

Beautiful view
The house has an amazing view. I wish we could have enjoyed the porch more, but the weather was cold in February. The drive up to the house was nerve wrecking at night, but we made it. The two bedrooms upstairs were less than great. One “king” bed was two beds pushed together with a huge gap in the middle and squeaked with any small movement. The other bed was uncomfortable according to our guest. The home was also lacking central heat which made warming the first night a little hard, after that it was very warm and cozy especially with the wood burning fireplace. The wood was well stocked and the house was actually very well stocked with spices and other essentials. The TV was easy to use and the WIFI worked great. The towel warmers were a nice touch in the winter! Overall we had fun, only a little disappointed in the beds as we were expecting a third true king size. Maggie Valley was super cute and had lots a yummy restaurants!

Geeat cabin with an awesome view!
We really enjoyed our stay Buck Horn Lodge. The cabin is quite large, and our family of 5 never felt crowded. The master bedroom is huge and I loved the fireplace!! The kitchen is well stocked and we did a lot of cooking. The view is absolutely awesome! The drive up had us flatlanders from Florida a little nervous the first few times, but we adjusted to it quickly. The property owner was very responsive to my questions, and returned my deposit the day we left! I highly recommend this cabin and we would definitely stay here again!

Great View!
Very nice home with a great view of Maggie Valley. My wife loved the master bedroom. It's a tough drive up the mountain (7 switchbacks), but not so bad once you get used to it. We're thinking about coming back here next year.

It has a fully equipped kitchen, nice furnishings, comfortable beds and a large porch with excellent views. Every morning and evening, we enjoyed the rocking chairs, the cool mountain air, and birds singing in the trees. Less than 5 minutes to the main road in Maggie Valley.

Maggie Valley Vacation
My family and I had the pleasure of staying at Buck Horn Lodge last week. It was the perfect house for us. My mother in law enjoyed having her own space downstairs, the twins loved the upstairs and my husband and I loved the master suite. We spent most of our time on the deck, enjoying the hummingbirds and the beautiful view. The kitchen was nicely furnished and had everything we would need. My husband and I enjoyed the mile long climb to the top of the mountain and enjoyed the view at the top. It was centrally located to many places, such as Cherokee (great hiking and swimming), Lake Junaluska (canoes and kayaks for rent) and many places to tube or white water raft. The house is in a neighborhood but there are not any houses truly visible from this one which made it very quiet and peaceful. It was the perfect retreat from our normal busy lives!

Heavenly
Beautiful home, gorgeous view!
The road up to the house is very steep, but don't let that stop you. It's a part of the adventure of getting away! The house is spacious with a luxurious feel. We enjoyed watching the town below and reading in the rocking chairs on the front porch. It rained while we were there; but honestly, watching the clouds move over the mountains and valley was truly relaxing. The kitchen is well stocked with cooking pans and dishes, even spices. The owners leave sugar water for the hummingbirds and feed for the bird feeders. Watching the birds is a treat! One problem we had was finding the right light switch for any room in the house. You pretty much have to try them all. Also, the bedroom downstairs is in the same room as the washer/dryer. Not horrible, just takes some extra planning when you need to wash clothes. The house sits high on the mountain, so you don't need the air conditioners during the day -- in JULY!! Maggie Valley is a small town, literally one road. A beautiful waterfall, Soco falls, is a short drive away, and an even shorter hike to reach it. Willie Brooks BBQ is a great place to eat, and there are a few antique stores to browse. Overall, an excellent place to stay!
