—Kathleen's Review: "We chose this cute cottage over staying at the Graduate Hotel and we made the right choice. It's an easy walk to the Square, and walking through the pretty Bailey Woods trail to campus was the No. 1 reason we chose this property, and I’m so glad we did. Why mess around with Ole Miss parking when you can just walk through the woods (or down University Ave.) to get there? Loved it."
—Nic's Review: "Everything from the communication to cleanliness of the house, this cottage has all you need. Walkable to the square, Faulkner’s home, and Ole Miss campus it allows you to walk wherever you want to go. Lesley and her husband were extremely welcoming and took extreme pride in their home. Will definitely come back for all future trips to Oxford. Cannot recommend this place enough if your looking for a quiet place in the best town ever."

I can’t say enough wonderful things about this property. It was comfortable, welcoming, safe, beautiful. The location is perfect, it was an easy walk to the square, just around the corner is the beautiful Rowan Oak property that I enjoyed walking so much (which the owner suggested to me, along with numerous other things which I also did) I am so grateful for her kindness and thoughtfulness she had for me (I was staying alone) and I can’t wait to get back and stay again (and again)

We were in town for a football weekend and my husband’s first experience in Oxford. The neighborhood is beautiful, and the walk to campus and the Square were easy (in good shoes, of course). Lesley thought of everything in the cottage, and it was very comfortable. Grab this listing if you can!

This was the perfect place for my family and me to stay when in Oxford. It is probably the coziest bedding we’ve ever seen in a VRBO location. To include the sleeper sofa that my two teenage daughters slept on. Lesley has added lots extras that show her attention to detail… and you can’t beat the location . Will definitely stay again when in town !

Cute, clean mini cottage within easy walking distance to the square and maybe even better…walking to Ole Miss through the pretty trail through Bailey Woods. We chose this cottage over staying at the Graduate Hotel and I’d hoped we made the right choice. Walking through the sweet wooded trail to campus was the No. 1 reason we chose this property, and I’m so glad we did. Why mess around with Ole Miss parking when you can just walk through the woods to get there? Loved it.

Absolutely everything about our stay at the Walkington Cottage was a dream.
Our host Lesley, was in contact with the exact info we needed, always at the right time, and she made sure we felt welcome and comfortable from start to finish.
The cottage is well appointed with thoughtful details throughout…..including the delicious, smooth Velvet Ditch coffee, freshly ground and awaiting our arrival……a wonderful way to start each day.
We enjoyed our time in Oxford immensely, and the Walkington Cottage played a big role in that. We walked to The Square and to Ole Miss to watch their game against Auburn (Rebs won it!), and the walks were easy and pleasant. I could walk those beautiful Oxford streets every day, and never tire of them. There’s just a special kind of magic in Oxford. There really is.
It was difficult to leave behind family, and say ‘goodbye’, and leaving the cottage, where some of our sweetest memories of this trip were made, was also bittersweet.
We are thankful and appreciative to Lesley and her lovely ‘home away from home’ for everything.
Until next time……Hotty Toddy!

This is a really great property. The owner has everything set up so perfectly with attention to many details - the coffee, bathroom supplies, bedding, etc. it was very easy to access and the location is very convenient. Will definitely stay again. Only downside is renting it before others! It will be in high demand!

This cottage is in a perfect location for Ole Miss, the square and Faulkner’s house. It is just as described and you feel right at home staying there. The host did everything to make us comfortable, including leaving umbrellas by the door on a rainy day! Thank you for sharing your little piece of heaven!

Charming Oxford cottage
My husband & I love this property. Everything from the location, comfortable bed, shower with good water pressure, the amazing coffee (which the owner roasts herself) was perfection! We’ve stayed at numerous properties in Oxford over the years and this is one of our favorites. I wish I’d found it sooner. It is clean, well stocked, and very private. The owner has masterfully updated the historical property without sacrificing its character & charm. We look forward to staying here again!

loved, Loved, LOVED!!!!
LOVED everything! Adorable…cottage and the sweet owners. The cottage was absolutely perfect with all the amenities. The owners went the extra mile and forgot nothing!!! Their hospitality was wonderful. Checked in on me. They were always just a text away with recommendations for restaurants, nail salon, spa, etc. Even brought me a lantern when there was potential for bad weather. Location was perfect to the square and University. I will definitely be back!!! Thank you for sharing your home with me!

Wonderful cottage near almost everything at Ole Miss
This is a terrific property near almost everything at Ole Miss - you can easily walk to the Square, campus, and Rowan Oak. The cottage itself is wonderful - very well appointed with a deck and private yard where deer occasionally pass through - a great bonus and so unexpected given how close it is to the Square. The owner is so thoughtful and her attention to detail was clear in both the property and our stay. You'll feel like you're staying with an old friend - we'll definitely stay here again!
