About this house rental
Set on 12 acres with stunning views of Lake Norfork in the Ozark Mountains of Arkansas, Anedodi is an exclusive cabin rental hideaway. Decked out with premium features throughout the house, decks and landscaped gardens. Every detail is impeccable, from the luxury organic bed linens to the giant egg bathtubs and natural wood, silk and wool decor. A cleansing experience for mind body and soul - the house has been designed to be 'green' and create a healthy, relaxing environment for your family.
Named after the Cherokee Indian word for 'adventure', there is plenty to keep everyone entertained. From exciting water sports, to fishing, hiking to waterfalls, biking, climbing, crystal mining, antiquing, playing golf - or just relaxing on one of the plush daybeds or hammocks scattered around the extensive grounds.
The perfect respite from city life - all you can see is green trees, the clear fresh mountain water lake, deer, butterflies and hummingbirds. Anedodi really is a taste of paradise - a chance for you to kick back, experience new things as a family and have no cares in the world for an endless week of fun.
Anedodi offers a spectacular lake-view pavilion, complete with chandeliers, perfect for weddings and family gatherings. On the lower level is a spacious open air deck which could seat up to 100 guests, which can be easily transformed into a dance floor under the stars as the evening progresses.
Have a dip in our 40 foot luxury heated pool (open April - October) then relax on the giant, plush daybeds or sun loungers, all with wonderful views of the lake. Try out your own personal 9-hole Frisbee Golf Course - Experience one of the most up and coming sports in America. Fun for all ages, test your skills through strategically placed baskets throughout our giant oaks. Rainy days can be spent in the games room enjoying the pool table, table tennis, piano, or in the living room with games, TV, and local wildlife books.
The highlight of any trip to Lake Norfork is getting out on the beautiful clean, clear water. There are very strict guidelines restricting any development around the lake which is the reason it remains so natural, quiet and clean. Lake Norfork is one of the most exclusive lakes in the region. However these restrictions also apply to boat docks which are very limited, so there is not direct water access from the house. Fortunately, there is a full service marina only 5 minutes away which offers a variety of boats for rent, along with gas, supplies etc. It is impeccably maintained and has slopes for wheelchair access etc. If you have your own boat and trailer, there is ramp access less than a mile away.
IMPORTANT NOTE: Anedodi has a sister property which sleeps 30 people - Equani Lodge, VRBO Listing #915590. It is just a 15 minute drive away, with stunning lake views, and a private pool.

Upon arrival there was grease all over the cabinets and the counters and microwave had not been cleaned. There is black mold all over the wallpaper upstairs in the living room and masterbedroom. The fridge in the game room is rusting at the back. There was dirt in all of the rugs and dirt all over the gameroom floors.

Ten years ago, we were struck by the listing and took our family of 5 (parents and 3 college kids) and enjoyed our visit. This year we decided to return with the same crew plus three grand-children and our kids' spouses.
The property views, proximity to the marina and the wonderful accommodations fit our group's needs perfectly.
Highly recommend and we thoroughly enjoyed our visit.

We had a very fun and relaxing week with our family. Most of the days and evenings were spent playing and swimming in the pool. The view was beautiful during the day and lit up at night. There was plenty of space inside and out for kids and dogs to play. The property has something for everyone. Sean was just a text away for any questions we had. You won’t regret booking Anedodi.

Beautiful home and property! Help with questions was only a phone call away! Very sweet people- owners and property managers. Had so many extras for comfort and fun - family games, pool floats, etc! We have already booked their larger home for next Labor Day! 😊

Our family hosted my parents 60th wedding anniversary celebration at the house. It was perfect. We had around 25 guests and 10 of us stayed at the house. The property is beautiful, there's something for everyone. We enjoyed the gorgeous views, the pool, the wildlife, the frisbee golf course, the huge deck, the game room and everything else the house had to offer. In the late evenings we laid by the pool and gazed at the stars. The sunsets were beautiful too. Hilary and Sean were easy going and answered any questions we had right away. Our family had a wonderful weekend and made great memories that will last a lifetime. I highly recommend Anedodi. It truely is an adventure.

We had a good stay. It was a big family vacation with grandma and grandpa all the kids and spouses and grandkids. 12 of us total. Kids and most adults used the pool multiple times a day!! We stayed in pool till almost midnight every night! Kitchen was stocked very well with pots and pans and utensils. The kitchen was a bit dated but it definately was good to cook in! We ate at least 2 meals a day there all week! The downstairs could use some fox ups but nothing major. I will say the bedroom downstairs with 2 full size bed the beds only sit about maybe a foot off th floor and mattress is super thin with no box springs so it was hard sleeping and very hard to get out of bed each day for us. Everyone else said they slept like a dream??!! This place was very nicely located to do things at Buffalo river, white river, and bull shoals, also recommend the mini golf place(Little T’s ??) in town! It’s super nice!! We ate every meal that we made There out on the covered deck since the 12 of us wouldn’t fit in the house at table. The deck is supper nice and the fans are awesome out there! Our kids took tents and put them up on the covered patio, but beware…if you do move the trash cans away from that area to avoid raccoons and bears!! I would definitely recommend this place to others. My mother in law may disagree but the rest of it thought it was nice. Only thoughts :could use some recliners and comfier furniture, it would be nice if more than one tv was available to watch in the house (grandpa and grandma only wanted westerns and Fox News so the kids were desperate for a retreat to watch their shows sometimes!!), and last - there needs to be a hummingbird feeder there somewhere. One poor hummingbird was trying to eat my nieces swimsuit as it was draped on deck to dry!! We had a very good stay!! Pool was AWESOME!!

Anedodi was the perfect place for our family vacation. The house had every amenity that we could possibly think of or need. We did so much cooking in the two weeks we were staying and the kitchen was fully stocked with everything you need.
The house was so spacious that even though there were a lot of us, we were not cramped in any way.
The deck was absolutely perfect for hanging out and being able to view the beautiful property and lake. And between the swimming pool, the game room, and the disc golf course, there was never the possibility of a boring moment. The adults and kids equally had a blast.
Lastly, the property manager, Sean, was amazing. If we needed anything or had any questions at all, he was always available and quick to reply.
Really plan to stay at Anedodi again. Thank you!

Good Family Location
We enjoyed the accommodations with an amazing view and lovely pool. Plenty of room for our family of 11, incl a toddler & baby. Few suggestions: remove doors on kitchen upper cabinets, they wouldn’t stay open; and replace the worn leather sofa.

A great week!
A total of 21 people (not all at once) enjoyed this property. It was SO HOT - so the pool was fantastic. Lake was flooded so we walked every day past the campground to the lake and were able to let the dog play and wade in the water. House was the most well stocked property we'd ever had (rent VRBO 2-3 times/year). My two aunts came prepared to cook all meals and they found everything they could possibly need. The small "nursery" off the kitchen did not get used as a nursery, but a place where we put things we didn't want kids to get - first aid kit, meds, my son's drone, etc - so that was nice to be able to lock stuff away. Property manager responded quickly to all questions. One suggestion would be more shade at the pool. There are two umbrellas, but it wasn't enough for that unrelenting sun. A sail-type shade may be optimal, but would likely require a permanent structure to put it up, so may not be feasible. Another suggestion would be drying racks for swimwear - we ended up hanging stuff over the deck and then bought a drying rack. Also, the house is used for some very nice events, but we used it more as a "beach house" - so we had kids running in/out with wet suits, flip flops, etc. There were no indoor "rugs" to put shoes on and we ended up putting a beach towel inside all the doors so we didn't track stuff all through the house. We really liked the outdoor fans so the kids could dry off after swimming yet not sit in the stagnant heat. The other thing to be prepared for are the ticks - we have ticks were we live, but not like this - or maybe I'm just used to being able to wear pants. Several people playing the disc golf (they had a blast by the way) had 20-30 small ticks all over them by the time they were done - despite spraying shoes/socks (pants weren't an option in the heat). We are a river family from Missouri - none of this was new or bothered us. Obviously, no fault of the owners - but just be prepared. If not in the grass, then not an issue. None of these are complaints - merely suggestions based on different needs of potentially different groups. Overall, we had a great time and the house was wonderful - pool was awesome and we'd stay there again without question.

Beautiful low effort, no worries vacation
The property is just as beautiful as it appears in the listing. The interior looks better in person than it appears in the listing as well. There's a few great elements that don't show up in the listing too. There's 2 acres or so of nice open space between the house and the road with widely spaced trees and disc golf course. If you're coming here for a wedding it would be a great place for all the kids to run around and get their energy out without disrupting the main event. The amount of amenities and just in case stuff in house is almost absurd - anything you might need or could possibly forget is probably in a drawer or closet somewhere. The property owners are responsive, easy to deal with, and generally very nice. I'm looking g forward to coming back here.

Wedding venue
The Anedodi made for an amazing wedding venue. The hosts demonstrate amazing communication. There were a couple things that didn’t work.

Beautiful property, amazing view of the lake!
Private, quiet area with plenty of room for parking and the kid to run around without worry of getting into traffic. Kid had a blast on the swing set and playing in the pool! We were worried about having service but had excellent cell service the whole time. Host was very responsive when we called with questions.

Great Wedding Venue
Such a beautiful home overlooking the lake! All decorations and archway provided for a wedding as well as tables and chairs. Plenty of privacy and room to have a great time. My only 'complaint ' would be that the pilot light on the hot water heater kept going out but we just re-lit it so no biggie. All of my wedding pictures are stunning with the lake and mountains in the background! Plenty to do for everyone from the game room to the pool. We would love to revisit Anedodi again!

Christmas Family Get Together
The owner is extremely responsive and allowed extra pets which was very nice. The check in process was very simple. The property is very nice and has a wonderful porch that goes almost all the way around the property with ample sofas, chairs and tables. The property location and view is beautiful. The back porch is great for morning coffee or evening drinks as well as relaxing and enjoying the fantastic view. The property has nice features e.g. walk in showers and separate bathtubs in 2 of 3 bathrooms (other bathrooms just has walk-in shower); nice washer/dryer and great game room with pool table and ping pong table; refrigerator, large TV, etc. The kitchen is fully stocked, but the oven needs a deep clean. The fancier coffee maker is very slow to brew, but there is another basic coffee maker as well. The beds are nice, but the mattresses were all a little hard for our preference, but nice just the same. The upstairs bathroom has a vent return under the sinks, that is a little cold coming out during cooler weather. (of course our downstairs group was hot natured and liked a cooler temperature downstairs). I would definitely recommend this property and love to go back in the Fall when leaves are beginning to change and pool is still open. Has a nice pool with lounge chairs. Pool is covered during off season. Thank you Hillary (owner) for all your information and flexibility on dogs! We look forward to staying again in future!

Our Thanksgiving get away!!!!
Kid w were disappointed that the pool was closed. They enjoyed the game room downstairs. They love playing board games. The beds were a little low and hard to get out of because they were so low to the floor. Especially when you are a senior.
When cooking the upstairs gets so hot, that the downstairs was cold because the furnace didn’t kick on. We had to open door and window to cool upstairs down.
The kitchen was stocked w pots and pans. Baking dishes was a nice surprise. I was surprised to see that there were spices in a drawer, sugar and salt. Also coffee. I brought my own coffee pot which uses the pods.
It’s a beautiful place. We relaxed and watched a lot of football.
All the family couldn’t come due to medical issues. We invited John’s cousins husband to come with us. His wife died on Oct 9 and he didn’t have anywhere to go. He enjoyed the football games. He doesn’t have ESPN so he got to watch a lot of football and really enjoyed it.
My 17 yr old grandson said let’s come back next summer.

Wedding at Anedodi
I would recommend Anedodi for your outdoor wedding. The view is amazing & the covered deck makes a beautiful reception area. You'll get plenty of great pictures! The pool was nice in the background since it lit up. I don't think the pool heater was working so we didn't swim much. The fire pit was off to the side so we were able to have a nice area for people to chill & make smores when they weren't dancing. There pictures that show outdoor heaters but they weren't there when we visited so we picked up our own at the local Lowes. We rented the wedding package & they had a shed of items onsite that made the process easier. It included tables, chairs, votive candles, table cloths/runners, a welcome sign, a wedding arch with tulle/flowers, and other decorations.
Aside from wedding, the house was very nice. Think of it as an upscale cabin. The kitchen was stocked with all of the items you'd need to cook & clean. The bedrooms were pretty comfortable and clean. There were a couple of issues with the rooms: The bedding in the master bathroom had some stains on them upon arrival, the downstairs king bathroom smelled like sewage so we completely stopped using it a few days into the trip, & the beds in the two doubles room were really low (likely meant for children so older adults may have trouble getting in & out). The owner was very nice leading up to the stay & quickly answered any questions I had. She also reached out after checkout for feedback on our stay. Overall, we had a comfortable stay & I would book this property again in the future for an event.
Also, I had alot of trouble visualizing the floorplan of this house prior to my wedding stay. So if you're in the same boat, read on for a description to find out if it fits your needs. There are 3 bedrooms plus a game room for sleeping. The first floor bedroom has a king bed with a door to the main deck. This bedroom attaches to the only bathroom on the 1st floor. So while it is the master bathroom, you'll be sharing with anyone you have at the house when they're upstairs. The rest of the bedrooms are downstairs. There is king room with an ensuite bathroom. The next bedroom has the two double beds. This room also has an attached bathroom but it has a shared door to the hall because those in the game room need to share this bathroom. The game room has one queen bed and a daybed with a trundle. All of these rooms have a lake view and doors out to the lower deck.

Family get away
The property is nicely appointed with many amenities. There is room to spread out. Noise does carry. - and that was tough with a little one. The pool cover was broken and we had dishwasher issues but the manager was helpful and it worked out. The road into the property winds around and is stressful to navigate in the dark, so plan to get there early. It was very clean and we had a great time.

Beautiful views!
I cannot say enough about the views from Anedodi! Absolutely breathtaking. The hosts were very responsive, the wildlife was plentiful, and the community was friendly. This was our second stay at Anedodi, and I can tell it has been booked constantly. Some of the little maintenance details were not as tight as in the past. That said, the property is amazing and the hosts are great. i will definitely stay again!

Family Vacation
The stay was awesome. The house is a perfect size, plenty of bathrooms, plenty of things to entertain everyone. The inside was clean. The beds were comfortable. Linens very clean. View was unbelievable.
I’m very picky so the issues I had were just that, me nit picking. Towels need replaced. Pool cover was broken which was a safety feature I had anticipated with small children. Patio and deck furniture could use cleaning.
We plan to return next summer.

Our review
We had a couple of hiccups, but Sean was really good to work with. The view is amazing! We had a very HOT week while we were there, so the pool was awesome! This house is NOT for people who have bad knees or any issues with steps. The house is pretty much as it is described. We were rather surprised at how low some of the beds were. The house was well supplied. Overall, it was a great vacation and we do recommend staying here. Big thanks again to Sean!

A Beautiful Retreat on Lake Norfolk
We have just returned from a week long stay at Anedodi. It is a beautiful property and my interactions with Hilary and Sean were friendly and helpful. Renting the pontoon boat for the week was a great opportunity. We especially appreciated the well stocked kitchen. However, as in most VRBO rentals, we did have to buy paper towels and toilet tissue after using the complimentary items left for us. The pool is a great size and fun for both adults and children. And finally, the views were to die for. Thanks so much for helping me to have a wonderful 70th birthday celebration with my family!

Best Annual Trip Ever!!
I’ve been coming to Mountain Home every summer for the last 30 years and this was the best property we’ve ever stayed at. Grandma, Aunts and Uncles, all of our kids…there was something for everyone and we’re so thankful for the thoughtfulness of the owners and attention to detail in creating a true retreat!! Will recommend this beautiful property to everyone and hopefully be back soon!

Beautiful views
The view from this property is beautiful and the pictures don’t do it justice. The house was clean and spacious enough for our party. The beds were comfortable (memory foam type) and there were plenty of towels. We had the hot water go out, but the property manager was able to get someone out quickly to fix it and the serviceman that showed up was friendly and professional. This place makes you feel away from it all, but the town and all of its amenities are within a 20 minute drive. You must try Holy Smokes BBQ if you visit. Hope to visit again one day.
