The wide-open, multi-level living space features a dramatic floating glass staircase and floor-to-ceiling windows with direct ocean views. Plenty of seating and a flatscreen television make a comfy spot for hanging out with your crew. You’ll find yourself pulled outside again and again through the glass doors to the huge oceanfront deck overlooking the Gulf of Mexico. Relax here with an ice-cold drink while you listen to the sound of the waves against the sand, the call of coastal birdsong, and the gentle offshore breezes rustling the palm trees. Take a deep breath, and feel all your stress wash away with the tide.
The massive kitchen features gleaming quartz workspaces, stainless steel appliances, and a massive sub-zero refrigerator. There is plenty of seating for meals between the kitchen island and dining tables (both inside and out on the deck).
With seven generous bedrooms, there’s enough space for everyone to find some privacy. On the ground level sits a fun bunk room detached from the main house, with 2 full over full bunk beds and a twin over twin bunk. There are four bedrooms up the stairs on the main floor. The first bedroom has a king-size bed. The second bedroom— dubbed the Whale Room— has a full-over-full bunk bed with an attached trundle. The third bedroom is called the Mermaid Room and features a twin-over-twin bunk bed and a twin-over-full bunk bed with an attached trundle. The Whale Room and the Mermaid Room share a full jack-and-jill bathroom. The fourth sleeping space on the main floor is a queen sleeper sofa in the library.
On the upper level, the sumptuous master suite will take your breath away. A king-size bed faces a wall of floor-to-ceiling windows that frame a stunning view of the sea. Wake up each morning to this gorgeous view, take your morning coffee out to the upper-level deck space, and watch a cotton-candy-pink sunrise light up the sky. A huge en suite bathroom has a glass-enclosed shower and a soaking tub. Another bedroom on this level has a full-over-full bunk with an attached trundle, a full-size bed, and an attached bathroom.

All of the stress of packing up for a beach day— sunscreen, ice, snacks, towels, toys, drinks, ugh!— simply disappears here.
In the evening, serve up fresh seafood from the gas grill and then gather around the beachfront fire pit— think gooey s’ mores for the kids and frosty cocktails for the adults. A convenient outdoor shower is ideal for rinsing off sun-kissed skin. Ready to go exploring? The Jamaica Beach Pool and Splash Pad, Pleasure Pier, and the Strand are only a quick hop-and-a-skip away.

We were a little disappointed in the condition of the place based what we had seen on the photos. I realize the hurricane caused some of the decorative issues, but none of the things we experienced were mentioned as a problem had communicated. In fact, we were told it was good to go.
There are a number of issues that need to be addressed: The A/C for the upstairs did not work well and needs maintenance. The various portable fans around the house do not work or are missing the power cords. The door handle to the jack-and-jill bathroom comes off. The GFCI plug on the back porch is not functioning. Lots of utensils, but no hotpads or trivets. A couple of the deck chairs are broken. The firepit is unusable. Wifi doesn't reach the downstairs bunk room.
Yes, this is a long list and probably overwhelming. Apparently many (or all) of these things have been a problem before as they are on the reviews. So, maybe shame on us for not reading the reviews more thoroughly.
It's nice being right on the beach, but it's also very near a public entrance. We felt the need to put our stuff out early just to ensure we had a space in front of the house.
Overall, for the price you are paying, it's more about having the rooms and beds rather than staying in a nice place. Don't expect a very nice place and you won't end up being disappointed.

Sadly this home is not as it appears online. The home is in great disrepair. It was advertised as a luxury home, and we were willing to pay a premium price for such a home to house our large family. However this is not a luxury home. The location is amazing. But the home was dirty, (don't think the ceiling fans have ever seen a duster),cobwebs in the cabinets.Dirty dishes and silverware in the drawers and cabinets. The floors were dirty, not only sandy, but sticky. Many things in disrepair, faucet handle came off, had to hold it just right to turn on the shower. A drain pipe under the sink in a bathroom wasn't attached,so flooded the lower cabinet. (my husband tightened it, as best he could, and we didn't use the sink anymore) There were lots of roaches. I understand the gulf coast and roaches, but I also know with regular exterminators coming in, the problem can be helped.Internet worked on the first day, then was out, called BeachBox, said they'd call me back but didn't. Sand and mud washed up on drive from the hurricane hasn't been cleared off, so it was impossible to not track sand into the house.Bedroom with hideabed is not a bedroom, shouldn't be advertised as such.Kitchen is well stocked with silverware, plates and glasses.3 coffee makers,1 works, Disposal sounds like it's on it's last leg.Bare sheetrock on the mainfloor ceilings, many beds, mostly bunkbeds, could use another bathroom for as many people who can sleep.House feels old.Very unkept. We're very disappointed.

Property location amazing. Only house around with direct beach access. Rained before arriving and house had leaks. One is over bed in the main floor bunk room. Three coffee pots only all one works. All in all amazing place

Beautiful home in the photos listed not the same place in person floors were very dirty house reminded me of a party house for large groups. Lots of damage to the ceiling issues with mold plug-ins not working only positive was beautiful view. The house was very nice property before like in the photos, but has definitely been neglected. We never took our sandals off due to not feeling clean. I only wish it would let me post photos. Was told to put the trash in the trash cans, but they were overflowing .The grill was completely rusted out not usable at all. Does not look like they’ve cleaned up since the last storm hit sad because this property could be one of the nicest on the island , When I sent messages to the property manager, only thing I got back was check out is at 11. If you leave early, please let us know. If you’re looking for cleanliness, this is probably not the property for you👎👎👎

The house is large but in need of LOTS of repairs. Many of the lights and fans inside and outdoors we were never able to get turned on. When we arrived at the property, one of the A/C units was not working at all. The refrigerator and freezer were not working properly, they were not cooling and we lost a lot of the food we purchased for meals. We had repair people in the house three times, trying to get the problems rectified. The kitchen is very poorly stocked for cooking. No pot holders at all. Very few bowls. The blender did not work at all. The entire deck is in need of many repairs and a good cleaning. The second day we were there, the latch to the gate pulled tight out of the wood and had to be repaired. There is a vent for a humidifier on the balcony that has no cover on and our toddler got hurt because of it not being properly maintained for safety. When using the washer and dryer, we discovered that the dryer vent was not connected and the hot air and lint was being vented into the house. The floors in the house were not clean when we arrived. We spent lots of time just weeping up sand. There are no blankets for any of the beds. Some of the bedrooms do not get good air for from the A/C. There were several stand alone fans in the house but none of them worked. The communication with the property manager was prompt and most of our issues were taken care of quickly. We were very disappointed for the money psid with the condition of the home.

Great stay, house was prefect.

When we arrived for check in at 4pm, cleaners were still there. Floor was wet and took a lot of our time to dry. I know bird poop is normal for beach fronts but there was a big pile of bird poop near the door in the patio. They did not even bother to clean it up. Bird poop everywhere, even in the tables outside. Grill is very rusty and ancient. Bought a grill from the dollar store and left it there for the next occupants to use. and the couch needs to go.

We visited the area for a family vacation. For a large group it is an excellent space. Everyone had their own bedrooms and bathrooms in every corner of the house with showers. The kitchen was well stocked with utensils & appliances were nice including an extra fridge. The beds were comfortable & bedding was nice. The deck & lights were great with a stairway that led to a super clean beach. The house is located in a great area within about 10 miles of Galveston. The house was clean and the floors all tile. There are ALOT of stairs and you have to climb them to get to the main floor. Tons of windows to let the sunlight in as well. Two TV areas on the main floor. We had a video game on one and HULU on the other. The fire pit/patio were nice & it’s a nice yard to hang out in. We had room for a volleyball net & lawn darts. Now, If you are expecting a sparkling house this is not for you. The clear staircase walls and floors had a film from being washed (clean but cloudy), the patio windows were dirty enough to cloud the view. A few of the walls have chipped paint, one of the couches has a broken sinking cushion though it was super comfortable anyway. There is a big awesome dining room table with cloth chairs that were stained.Outside walls had some stucco that had fallen off. Communication with management was sub par resulting in security/law enf. questioning our presence the first night. Mostly a great place to stay if you can overlook the little things. Overall a good choice.

Great property, my family and I enjoyed staying here

Spectacular and breathtaking view when you walk up the stairs and see the ocean out of the large panoramic windows for the first time.
High end appliances and finishes. Large areas and lots of bedrooms, all with an amazing view.
Overall the exterior could use a fresh coat of paint or stain with a few touchups of interior paint, and the flooring could be updated perhaps with luxury vinyl tile. These are only suggestions and does not affect the overall view or vacation experience.
I would recommend and would stay there again.

The house was what we needed. 11 people aged 6-76. We had lots of fun hunting down shells. There are cosmetic things but we live nearby and know what salt water does to the exterior of houses. Management was quick to answer any questions. Overall great experience, oh and both ovens worked for us.

If all you are looking for is a large house on the beach and nothing else matters this is the place. Unfortunately the house has been neglected and in need of repairs and updates. On the first day the top floor shower leaked down in the kitchen area. The leaks have been happening for a while as was evident by the bubbling in the ceiling paint. I am sure they will reply they were not aware or they have been repaired but obviously no inspections have been made and I doubt more than a quick fix was done. Also the living room furniture was severely worn and needs replacing, nobody wanted to sit on it. Here is summary and request for a partial refund that was ignored without a response.
Some parting feedback. It started raining last night and leaks were found in the skylights over the entryway stairs and west side bedroom on main floor ceiling which could not be used due to dripping noise and puddling. With the loss of a bedroom and bathroom shower due to leaks, family room tv had black lines, oven, ice makers, ceiling fan, and speaker system not working, I would like to request a partial refund. I understand and expect some things to happen but hope you will agree this was above and beyond a few minor issues.

The bunk beds were to low and only had one mattress which is not good for people over 50 which was most of my family members. The ice machine did not work, the ceiling leaked over the entrance stairs making it slippery, the ceramic tile in kitchen was raised causing tripping concerns and the downstairs room was too cold. I left my toiletries bag in upstairs bathroom, how can I get it back?
5.0 / 5.0
I've read the other reviews and some of it is fair. There are some cosmetic issues in many of the areas/rooms (i.e. touch up paint needed or matching tile), but nothing that crazy or disparaging.
Ants and broken appliances can occur at anyone's house without notice, so take issues like that with a grain of salt, as they were all the resolved when we showed up. Also, all of the appliances worked, except for 1 of the 2 stoves (1 was enough for us) and the separate built-in ice-maker (which is a luxury device anyways). There is also an additional side fridge and 3 arcade machines which aren't highlighted in the listing, which were great.. I can't speak to the heat issues, as we went in October, so we were relatively comfortable.
All in all, I would give it 4.5 stars, as it's not "perfect", but it's still a great stay at a great location, great view/deck, great layout/vibe/furnishings, and looks like a mansion compared to the neighboring houses. I thought it was a fair price based on my previous rentals, but I guess everyone will have their own opinions on that.
3.0 / 5.0
The biggest complaint - it was too hot inside. The house has a tremendous amount of windows without curtains. In august, between 3-8 pm, the house is unbearable hot…thermostats were reading 84-87 degrees, despite the air conditioners being set at 71. The system will not allow for setting it under 71 degrees. Not sure why they don’t have curtains? We were trying to have a formal indoor dinner, but could not due to the heat… management did not respond back when I asked to lower the air conditioner to under 71 degrees.
There’s are 2 ovens …one does not work. Ice maker wasn’t working. Needs some repair ( peeling paint, etc) and updating. A bunch of paint cans were found in the entry way which was not aesthetically appealing. Not enough cleaning supplies…no dishwasher detergent. 2 extra trash bags. Tiny soap bars - not enough for 25 people. No keurig coffee machine ( most luxury places have that).
However, it’s a large house and can fit 25 people …great for a family get together - perhaps in the fall, winter or spring when heat is not an issue. It’s very spacious. 2 fridges - both worked great.
The balcony is cooler with a breeze so sitting outside is a great option.
30 second walk to the beach with your own access.. views are very nice.
Lots of stairs in the home so beware if you have any elderly people in your group…
Overall, a great place to host a family, but they need to figure out a cooling mechanism for the summer ..87 degrees indoors is too much!

My kids and I took a family vacation together and we had the best time. There were 19 of us and the house never felt crowded. Everything we needed was available. Even though it was so hot we were able to sit on the deck everyday and it was so nice with a nice breeze. We didn’t have any issues until the last day. We weren’t able to open the lockbox. Russell was quick to respond and give us a solution. We would definitely stay again. The access to the beach was the best thing about the house and the view from the master bedroom was amazing. Give this house a try. You won’t regret it.

We had such high hopes...especially with the owner confirming all problems addressed....ants all over you kithchen counters...on into the wine cooler area....pipes or a pipe burst...gushing water on the ground floor....unfinished painting...on walls around dining area..plus ceiling problems in the kitchen...first floor is never ever cool...can't believe no blinds have not been put up....overall misleading in their marketing ploy....and do not expect 5 star for the price you pay...to think for that kind of money what we could have had....no thank you Estate
1.0 / 5.0
Positives - good location and nice outdoor space
Negatives-
Listing issues
1) there were supposed to be 7 bedrooms but there were only 6 with the sixth not having a door
2) there were supposed to be 4 1/2 bathrooms I guess that would be correct if somehow you call an outdoor shower a bathroom
House issues
1) two doors would not close or lock due warpage and one double door was screwed closed
2) A/C would get to 72 about 2 am after climbing to 79 during the day. This was aggravated by lack of window covering for large window and skylights (would be great in winter
3) the dryer took 2 hours to dry towels due to venting issues
4) There were numerous significant cosmetic maintenance items
5) Although there was an ice machine and a refrigerator ice maker neither were functional - we were supplied four ice cube trays
Amenity issues
1) We were provided 1 small bath towel, 1 washcloth and 1 sink towel for a five day stay (requested additional towels 3 times and then we purchased our own) - remember it was taking 2 hours to dry 25% of the towels
2) the coffee, sugar, etc provided did not last thru the first morning
For the price paid the house was a disappointment

This place could be fantastic except for the fact it needs a lot of work. Ceilings in dining room , kitchen and one if the bed rooms are a mess. There's missing tiles in one of the bathrooms. Railing outside is dangerously loose. We encountered ants and bugs in kitchen and dining room. Washer and Dryer are old and dryer barely drys clothes. Ice machine does not work. Double oven does not work. Towels are dingy and cheap. No lights on outside stairs, outside electric plugs does not work. Someone is letting this place run down. Some areas are ok but the amount of money we paid except for the deck and views this place was disappointing.
3.0 / 5.0
Firstly, this house is not a 7 bedroom house. It is 6 bedrooms and sofa bed in a tv room.
Secondly, it is not a luxury house experience. More like a large spacious hostel or party house. Nothing about it is luxurious except the size and the location but the actual house has seen better days. Tub does not hold water, parts of the ceiling are chip wood planks screwed on to fix big hole,
Thirdly (an most painful) is that it is a glass house that has no window covers and lets all the blazing heat into the house during teh day. despite the AC running on blast, The house was so hot we had to go outside to cool down with the breeze. Totally unacceptable. Too expensive to be so uncomfortable.
Thirdly, since the house is hosted by another platform, for service, you don't talk to the owners you talk to a rotating number of distant house managers, some of which are less than friendly.
Overall, the value for money was not there if you are looking for a luxury experience. If you are having a party, it will do fine.

I was very disappointed in this home. The pictures online do not match the current shape of this house!
There was mold and water damage all over the walls in the Whale room, the bunk beds are flimsy with thin mattresses on the floor on the bottom bunks, several drywall area imperfections that need to be addressed. The house was also very dirty upon arrival and after the cleaning service came the floors were still dirty. I paid allot of money and I feel I got taken advantage of by false advertisement of the houses true condition. The AC unit filters were so dirty that we had to take the filters out for the AC to function. This house was supposed to be an Estate, but instead was a state of dissapointment

The location of the property was perfect. The view from the main bedrooms, dining room and kitchen is amazing. The refrigerator was big enough to fill it with all the groceries we bought they even had a second refrigerator for drinks. We grilled and cooked some delicious foods.
4.0 / 5.0
The property was beautiful and the view was incredible. The house did have some damage we noticed when we checked in( chipped paint, cracked ceiling, broken door lock) and the fridge has to be repaired during our stay, but the property manager was kind and always available to answer questions. My only complaint was there were no towel bars or hooks in the bathroom or on decks to hang towels to dry. Overall, it was a beautiful house on a beautiful beach and we made lasting memories with our family. We would rent this place again.

Truly enjoyed our stay in Jamaica Beach! The Estate is as described on the listing; check in and out was a breeze and accommodations were perfect for our large group. Security patrolled throughout the weekend, on and off the beach so that was a plus.
The down side is the internet was iffy, we couldn’t connect even after following all the steps in the instructions. There are bird nests in the rafters on the deck so we learned where to stand and not & there are some cosmetic things that need to be addressed. But, we truly enjoyed our stay and the fact that it’s right on the beach with your own walk way over the dunes was worth the minor inconveniences.
I would definitely recommend staying here!

We got a great deal on this beach house and the whole family enjoyed.
5.0 / 5.0
We booked this home for our family reunion because of the proximity to the beach, and we absolutely loved this house! The private walkover was so convenient for being able to quickly get to and from the beach. The kids loved the little bunk room on the first floor and I myself love the huge dining room table and kitchen. And the beds were so comfortable! Honestly it felt like we were staying at a 5 star hotel or something! Just such an incredible stay!
3.0 / 5.0
The location was phenomenal! The house was in need of extensive repairs.
4.0 / 5.0
The view was beautiful! After waiting for 4:00 to check in we still had to wait an additional 25-30 minutes because the code sent did not work. I had to call and was told the code was wrong and that an email was sent changing code but it wasn't received. The shower in Master bedroom was out of order and the mattress wasn't comfortable. We had problem with electricity and maintenance came out and said we needed to call electric company. In the meantime my son found box which solved the problem of which maintenance should have been aware of. A few days later someone came from electric company so had my son not found problem we would have been without service in some areas. Too many bunk beds, I would have preferred more queen size with a bunk bed. Overall I liked it and would recommend it.

We had a beautiful weekend here! The location right on the beach was perfect!
2.0 / 5.0
This home needs repairs. During our stay there were 2 roof leaks where water entered the home, 2 spots in the home with patches of visible mold, an oven that was duct taped shut with "out of order" on cardboard, broken tiles, patched spots where repairs were underway and 3 bunk beds that were missing ladders (so the top could not be accessed). All issues were photographed and management was contacted immediately. 2 individuals came on site to view the damage and issues but there was no follow-up. I would not stay here until extensive work is done.
5.0 / 5.0
Would definitely book again! The home was absolutely beautiful and accommodating. Host was very responsive! Had a great time.
1.5 / 5.0
The house was spacious and was able to accommodate our large group. The location and access to the beach was perfect for our group. The multiple automobiles on the beach were new for our group and a distraction that we had not previously encountered even though we were aware of this when the house was booked. The interior ceilings in the dining area have sheetrock patched over what appeared to be a previous leak from upstairs. The appliances were old and in need of replacement, the lower oven did not heat per temperature settings. The refrigerator/freezer was a daily concern with constant defrosting and inability to load food items into the refrigerator and had to utilize coolers with ice to maintain cold temperatures for some food and drinks for the week. We were not able to utilize the freezer and lost all ice cream and popsicles purchased for the week. Message was left with maintenance related to the refrigerator and no follow up was completed. No sheets were left out for the sofa beds.

Truly the best on the island!
We loved every minute spent at this home! Truly the very best on the island! The views from the home and decks are simply amazing, the floor to ceiling windows are unlike anywhere else I've seen in Galveston, and the direct walk to the beach is so convenient! This was the only house we saw with a direct beach access, which saved us a ton of time hauling beach gear! We are already looking forward to next years trip!

Beach front & Large but needs a little maintenance
The beach-front location & space in the house were great for a group vacation. The deck from the house to the beach was very convenient especially with young kids to be able to go back & forth . There was plenty of parking space for multiple cars & the sitting area on the exterior of the house on the back deck was very spacious & comfortable. The bedrooms had comfortable bedding and very clean, but the bathrooms could use some maintenance on the sinks and bathtub in the master upstairs. There were some cracks in the tile flooring that need to be repaired & the hand/safety rail on the back deck needs to be secured so it’s not so flimsy. The charcoal grill downstairs is pretty old but we were able to make it work, might be worth bringing one instead though. Overall was a good trip, the home just needs to be maintained and have some touch up work done for the price range it’s in.

Huge house
The house itself is awesome. Balcony is huge, plenty of space for activities and you have your own beach access bridge. Owner/Management was also easy to get ahold of.

Mother's Day
It was a place to spend time with friends and family. It was built in 1990 and is a classic.

Senior trip
The house was in the perfect location, and was beautiful, BUT it needs much work and a good cleaning. There are a lot of water issues, as far as leaking, and there are many broken tiles all over the house. Lots of bugs as well. Other than these things, the house is great for a large group and is perfectly located directly on the beach. A few repairs and the house would be perfect!

Family Easter
Great property for large families. However not much privacy in bathroom with no window coverings over the glass door. Would prefer more “real” adult beds not in the form of bunks. All in all this is a great home in a great location with the beach so close. The decking is great and the views are beautiful. Loved hearing the waves lull me to sleep and having gorgeous sunrises. The beach is a drive on beach but was kept very orderly although music from various cars could be very loud. The police patrol the area and we all felt safe even when some cars were still on the beach at three and four in the morning.
