If winter activities are your goal, the beautiful village of Breckenridge is just a short drive north where you can enjoy premier Colorado skiing, dining, and shopping. Keystone, Arapahoe Basin, and Copper Mountain are also close. Or, stay near home and cross-country ski to your heart's content. We have it all!
The Irish Rose was built with families in mind. The main level has a great room with a gas fireplace and floor-to-ceiling windows showcasing the beautiful mountains and trees. There are two main level bedrooms, one with a queen bed, and one with double bed and trundle geared for up to three kids. The great room sofa also pulls out to a queen-size bed. The master bedroom loft has a queen bed, washer and dryer, along with a small private balcony. There are full baths on both the main level and the loft.
The cabin also has a lower level with a private entrance in the back which is only used occasionally by the owners during periods of maintenance and upkeep. It is never rented and will almost always be unoccupied during your stay.

Such a great location and the views were unbeatable! Our kids had a great time playing in the woods and the creek and enjoyed adventuring around the local area. We enjoyed watching deer and moose in the mornings and loved hearing the creek from the house. It was peaceful and the only sounds were those of nature- very relaxing! The house was well equipped for our stay and very easy to check in and communicate with the owners.

We had a great time at the Irish Rose. It is beautiful cabin in spectacular mountain setting. It served us well as a hub for our many activities. Its location allowed day trips to Breckenridge, Buena Vista, Leadville, Frisco, and everything in between. We took advantage of the proximity to four 14ers that my son and I were able to summit with them bring only 20 minutes from the cabin. Our family enjoyed exploring the property, watching the wildlife, and the hot tub in the evenings. We even lucked out and happened to be there when the burro races came by, an extra treat. We would highly recommend.

Had a great time with adult children. Beautiful views, plenty of room for everyone. Accurate description of property. Nicely stocked kitchen. Wish we could have stayed longer.

This property was at the base of Mosquito Pass, and the mosquitoes definitely showed themselves, but nothing a little “OFF” can’t fix. The property was amazing, very active wild life! You also have a beautiful view and can take trails not too far down the road. The inside of the property was also amazing, cozy, and lovely as well. Definitely recommend!!

The Irish Rose is an amazing location; tucked in the CO mountains with a stunning view and everything you need! It isn't overly fancy, but it is clean and cozy and our family of 5 (2 adults, 3 teens) found this to be a perfect "home away from home." From a well stocked kitchen, to laundry, a closet full of games and movies we always found what we needed. We loved the hot tub and the view of the night sky and enjoyed several moose sightings from the living room. The Irish Rose is surrounded by nature and off the beaten path, yet is a short drive from the bustle of Breckenridge or the small town pace of Fairplay. We enjoyed a long hike each day. The only two complaints we'd have is: The master/loft bedroom could use a new mattress, it was quite saggy. And be sure to pack your bugspray, the road is called "Mosquito Pass" for a reason; the mosquitos were large and plentiful. This did limit our time outside the house more than anticipated. Overall, we loved the Irish Rose and would recommend it!

The pictures for this property really do not do it justice. We had a truly wonderful stay at the Irish Rose and were able to comfortably accommodate six adults. The area was quiet and just the right amount of secluded. The entire group would highly recommend this property.

This place is amazing! The location, views, and wildlife made this trip for us. We saw more moose than we've ever seen driving to and from the house and one on the property. Lots of toys, games and local books. The kitchen was one of the most well stocked I've had, they have everything you will need.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 5star review.
We stayed 6 nights. All pics and descriptions are accurate. The cabin was warm and cozy. The hot tub was great to use after a day of skiing. The home had everything we needed while there. The home owner was excellent to communicate with, answering any questions we had. Was fun to see moose and the scenery was beautiful. A very nice, secluded place to stay!

The Irish Rose was a great weekend getaway for our family. The home was cozy, well organized, and the property was beautiful. We enjoyed some board games, watching movies, playing in the snow, and soaking in the hot tub in negative temperatures! The owners were great with communication leading up to our stay, making it easy to find the property and simple to gain access once we arrived. Thank you for letting us enjoy your home.

What a peaceful and relaxing time at this wonderful property. My friend and I especially enjoyed the views of the snowy mountains. Responsive and friendly communication with both Rich and Shannon. Enjoyed too the friendly and easygoing vibe in Fairplay. Great value for everything packed into this property and area! Thank you for sharing it with us!

Our family (myself, my husband and our son) had an amazing vacation! Although we didn’t see any moose behind the cabin, we saw a lot within 1/2 a mile of the cabin including a huge bull moose, 2 other smaller bulls and plenty of other with their calves! The cabin had everything we needed for our stay and the communication with the owners was very good and they responded very quickly to any questions we had. This was by far the most wildlife we had seen that close to a cabin (we vrbo quite often) and it made my son and husbands year seeing the moose, elk, chipmunks etc.! Thank you again for a great vacation!

Absolutely gorgeous piece of property, its definitely up there in the elevation and we had some issues with it especially with the kids. But we all thought it was worth it including the kids! Very peaceful area and absolutely gorgeous when the aspens are changing. Thanks for having us Rich and answering any questions I had along the way! Appreciate you sharing your slice of peace on earth!

The pictures don't even kind of do the property and overall surroundings justice.
We saw deer, we saw bunnies, we saw Moose!! and no bears thankfully!
The proximity to Breckenridge, Buena Vista, and too many outstanding natural areas to count was great.
Ready to move to Alma!

Wonderful place to just get away. We ranged from 23 to 91 in ages and we always had something to do. We saw space x, the percid meteor showers and 2 moose. The only disappointment was someone placed the wrong movie in a holder that we wanted to see….hard times lol. Thank you for sharing your home with us.

Stayed at the Irish Rose in Alma for 2 weeks in July and what a great choice. The cabin itself was spacious, very clean and in a great location. Loved the privacy and the land that cabin was situated on. The deck and the land were amazing. Loved exploring the property and saw moose and deer just about everyday. The location was great if you like to be in the woods. Was the last place on a dirt road with access to Mosquito Pass for off roading and Mosquito creek for fly fishing which we did both. The towns of Alma and FairPlay were the quintessential Colorado mountain towns that had everything you needed. The cabin with the floor to ceiling windows made for a relaxing home base for our many Colorado Adventures. If you love the outdoors and seek the peacefulness of the woods then we would highly recommend staying at the Irish Rose. We would definitely stay again and complete the many adventures that we were unable to get too. This cabin's location offers 3 towns Alma, FairPlay and Brekenridge as destinations for dining out and shopping. Beautiful area. beautiful cabin and property.

Beautiful secluded cabin, great views, and very peaceful. A plus was getting to see the moose. We loved our time here and will be back.

This property is absolutely gorgeous, it was exactly what me and my family were looking for. It offers privacy, nature and beauty.
We had a couple of issues though, the house itself was not cleaned well at all. The pots and pans were filthy when we pulled them out to cook, the coffee pot had burned coffee in the bottom of the pot and the hot tub hasn’t been cleaned in a while.
It looked clean until the jets turned on and we saw the film of dirtiness floating on the top. We all broke out in a rash from it.
They really need to reconsider who is taking care of their beautiful property because the dirtiness takes away from all of it.
The beds and pillows are HORRIBLE, please invest in your guests and give them something comfortable to come home to after a long day of hiking. These beds are so lumpy and the pillows are paper thin. It was such a disappointment, for what they charge nightly I expected A LOT MORE in regards to cleanliness and comfort.

My kids and I absolutely loved this property. So much to explore. It was close to town and very convenient to the needs that we had. We spent A-day in Fairplay (South Park) which the kids really wanted to do. It was cool to learn the history of the town. Then we spent the next day in Breckenridge the weather was beautiful! The hot tub was great we had a full starry nights. We will definitely would recommend !!

A wonderful property with a variety of different features to keep the family interested. Like animals? There is a salt lick with direct views from the house. Saw a handful of moose during our two night stay. Like history? There is an old gold mine in the back yard and tons of other old mining equipment strewn across the mountains. We found the remains of an old tram system to get ore off the mountains. Hiking? Lots of big peaks around that seem a bit less trafficked than other spots in Colorado. Just want to relax in seclusion? The hot tub with sunning views or the fire pit by the rambling brook are for you. A high-quality rental with a responsive and considerate owner and a very fair nightly price. Our family couldn’t ask for much else with our visit to Colorado.

Awesome place. Thoroughly enjoyed the property and the proximity to hiking, Breck, and Frisco. Lots of wildlife. Great home with spectacular views. Mosquito creek was running hard with all the snow melt. Again great place.

This place is perfect for your remote Colorado retreat. The house is cozy with some great amenities and even better views. We used it as our home base for the ski trip. Would definitely stay here again!

Wow! Warm, Inviting comfortable home. Arrived after dark. Enjoyed the relaxing hot tub after a day of skiing. Woke up the next morning with a breathtaking view of the Pennsylvania Mountains.

Beautiful, private cabin nestled amongst the pines and aspens, but still very close to Alma, FairPlay and Breckenridge. My family of 6 enjoyed 2 nights at the Irish Rose. Half of us hit Keystone for a day and the other half went XC skiing in Frisco. It was so nice having a short drive back to the cabin. The mountain and starlight sky views from the hot tub were amazing!!!! We’ll be back.

Couldn’t of asked for a more peaceful stay. Woke up with a moose in the back yard taking a nap and she came all the way up to the hot tub. It was breathtaking to watch the snow fall all day and enjoy the fire. Can’t wait to go back in the summer!

We had a great time at the Irish Rose for our ski vacation. I enjoyed the wonderful view and it was the perfect place for us as we prefer to prep our meals and stay away from the resorts. Well kept and serene.
