Idle Days is a beautiful remodeled home on Rock Creek. It has amazing views of rock formations and the open water. The home is located in a quiet area that is very relaxing. Enjoy the screened porch with lots of seating. You can swim in the very deep, clear water, jump from the top of the 2 story dock or lounge in the water. Endless options for a relaxing getaway or a full day of playing. 3 levels of decks with chairs to provide endless lake viewing options. You can dine outside on the screened porch or on the deck with a large dinning table. The house has approximately 3,200 square feet of centrally heated and cooled living area. The house features four bedrooms, four bathrooms. 2 levels of living including main and lower level fully equipped Kitchens and Living areas with large flat screen TVs. Both levels have an open floor plan with combined Living, Dining and Kitchen areas. Main Level has full sized washer and dryer in large Laundry room with laundry detergent provided. 2 Master Bedrooms on the main level both have attached bathrooms. One additional large bedroom is also located on the main level with the bathroom across the hall. 4th Bedroom is located on the lower level with a large bathroom across the hall. This is a great place for kids with easy access to the game area with a Foosball table, games and a dart board (magnetic). The main level open living area is large and can accommodate multiple families comfortably with seating at the kitchen island, seating for 8 at the dinning room table, a large sectional couch and an additional sitting area all in the same open room with fabulous views of the lake. There is a covered single slip boat dock if you decide to bring a boat. The dock has power and lights. The power to the dock can be shut off. There are approximately 40-45 steps from the deck to the dock walkover. This is average for Smith Lake. We are located in between Rock Creek Marina and Duskin Point Marina for convenient gas fill ups. This lake home provides everything you need for your vacation getaway. Linens, beach towels, life vests, laundry soap, utensils, pots, pans, small kitchen appliances and even some pantry items (sugar, flour, spices) and the owners strive to make your stay pleasant and enjoyable. The town of Arley's main street is less than 10 minutes away and has a fabulous grocery store that also makes their own biscuits and out of this world croissants. They have a deli where you can call in and pre-order delicious smoked chicken and BBQ ribs. They also have pizza, deli items, sides and desserts for any size group. Other restaurants are also located in Arley. Ask us about our Paddle Board (2) Rentals. Ring camera is located at the front of the home.

Everything was as described, and Tracey was very easy to work with. The kitchen is equipped with anything you could possibly imagine, lots of extra towels and bedding. We did not utilize any of the water toy choices. Some of our family members had some in a nearby home, but the view sure is lovely! All of the chirping crickets and toads at night is very soothing to sleep with!

This was the best experience I have had through VRBO. Our hostess Tracey was amazing. She responded promptly to any questions we had. The house was stocked with all the cooking items you would ever need. There were even some stable spices there. There were plenty of towels, etc. The house was great. Nicely updated kitchen and bathrooms. The beds were all very comfortable.
The owner manual for the house had all the information you needed regarding checking in and out.
I would highly recommend this house if you have a large group. We had 12 people and every one had a bed to sleep in.
The location was perfect. It only took about 15-20 minutes to get to the nearest convenient/ grocery store and the Dollar General.
I cannot say enough about how wonderful Tracy was from beginning of our reservation to our checkout.

Idle Days covered all the bases. It is located in Arley with easy access to a grocery store and a few restaurants. Duskin Point Marina is about ten minutes away by boat and is where we rented ours, making a day on the lake very convenient to our home and gas. Our home was very clean and incredibly well stocked. Sleeping arrangements were ideal for our family of eight adults and three grandchildren. We enjoyed a beautiful water view, slip for our boat and plenty of water toys, Lily Pad and life jackets. Idle Days is highly recommended. We’ll be back!

My family of 11 traveled from two states to celebrate our dad's 70th birthday. We had all of the family (from age 3 months to 70 years old) in one house, eating all meals and spending time fishing from the dock behind the house. We had all of the things we could possibly need within the house and more. It was well stocked and really clean. The host was really responsive to any of the things we needed and was a joy to work with for the rental process. We would definitely stay there again if we had a chance.

Grandparents & 3 families with small children under 4 years old. The family enjoyed the beautiful setting and the grandkids loved the swim pad along with their dads especially. All kids that went into the water had life jackets and had had swim lessons. The best memories for a bunch of cousins and the family. We have been before and we'll plan to return in the future!

This was a great place to stay. This house and manager/owner has been our favorite place we have stayed at on smith lake. The dock was amazing easy to get into and plenty of room for our 23’ boat. House was well stocked and floor plan was amazing as every bedroom had it own bathroom. Don’t hesitate to stay here.

Tracey was an awesome host, easy to get in touch with, and very helpful. The house was very clean, had any kitchen appliance you could think of, and was well stocked. There is abundance of beach towels also which was nice. Would highly recommend this home!

The house was great and the owners had provided just about everything one would want at the lake. Kayaks, beach towels, life jackets, deck chairs, screened porch, and much more. And the kitchen was stocked better than any I've encountered on our vacation stays. Would definitely stay again.

We booked this trips as a bonding trip for 3 families, and could not have been happier with our stay. Tracey was an excellent host. She provided all the information ahead of time and was very accommodating. There was a slight maintenance issue that was handled efficiently with lots of communication.
The house was stocked with everything we needed, and we did a good bit of cooking inside and on the grill.
The kayaks and water mat were such a fun bonus the kids. The deck was fantastic for lazing around. So many spots to enjoy.
We have already booked a stay with her again in August. We can’t wait to be back.

House is amazing. Best stocked rental I’ve seen. Host was great and checked in to see if we needed anything. The dock is the perfect spot to spend the afternoon and the screened in porch is perfect.

This was a ladies’ weekend stay and the house provided an excellent centralized gathering space along with amenities galore! Plenty of towels, board games, pots, pans, blankets, pillows! You name it, the house has it. While the gathering spaces are lovely, there is also plenty of space for escaping the group and having quiet alone time.

Our family of 9 needed a quiet getaway to relax and enjoy family time. Idle Days was the perfect place. The home was beautiful and spacious with lots of space to either get together or retreat away for some quiet time. The kitchen was by far one of the best stocked we’ve ever seen. Tracey was always available to answer any questions and offer any pointers. I highly recommend this beautiful getaway.

This property did not disappoint. It is as beautiful in person as it is in the pics. We have never stayed in a property that had as many amenities as this one. The kitchen is very well stocked and if you forget a spice or any kitchen essentials no problem cause Tracey has it covered. The beds were very comfy. The view of the lake is stunning, and we had our morning coffee out on the deck. We loved the boat dock; our guys fished and enjoyed the Kayaks every day. Tracey was very attentive and helped with anything needed. We will most definitely stay here again. If a relaxing, worry free Vaca is what you are looking for then look no further. I give this property and its owners 5 stars.

We stayed here for a weekend and it was perfect. We loved the screened in porch and the rooftop deck on the boathouse. The kayaks were a big hit and the cove is a perfect spot to safely use them. Kitchen had everything we needed. Great place!

This house was PERFECTION! From the very well stocked kitchen, to the super comfy beds, we couldn't have asked for a more fabulous place to relax & unwind. The view was gorgeous, and the icing on the amazing vacation cake was Tracey, the owner! She was lightning fast in her response time to any questions we had, and made us feel very welcome. We cannot wait to come back!!!

This house can handle 14 people with ease. The beds are comfortable, the kitchen is set up for serious cooks and diners, the porches offer a wide and beautiful view, and the double-decker dock is an endless source of recreation. Tracey is an excellent host, very quick to anticipate and respond to questions. Prepare to relax.

Perfect location for everything!
What a fantastic clean and comfortable lake home for our family of 13, six adults and seven grandkids. Plenty of rooms and room for everyone with so much useable living space outside. Huge Upper deck, a middle deck, and a superb floating dock with two deck areas, one upper deck for jumping off into the lake and one at lake level for all the water toys. The home comes with a very large lily pad island and two kayaks and two rentable paddle boards. We rented a pontoon boat from a company at Duncan Bridge Marina which is only about six miles (15 minutes) from the home by water and about 25 minutes by car. The location is ideal for skiing and towing water sports all within sight of the home and without a lot of activity during the week for our stay. We plan to return next year, so wait until we get our reservation in and then you should reserve a stay too! You will not be disappointed.

This home has everything you could want for a week on the lake. The kitchen is well supplied with cooking pots, pans, bowls, etc. the beds are comfortable and the pier is perfect to lounge around and enjoy the lake.

Family Gathering
Idle Days is a beautiful lake house with everything you could need provided for you. The decor and feel of this home is warm and welcoming with the gorgeous Smith Lake spread out in front of you. We visited the US Rocket & Space Center in Huntsville and Rickwood Caverns. Both were great day adventures, well worth the drive. Hanging on the dock, fishing and kayaking were the best. BBQ and banana pudding from Sons of Arley Store made the perfect final dinner. Hope to visit again soon.

Great place to relax!
Our women's group had an amazing time at this beautiful home. Everything we needed was provided. The beds were quite comfortable and we enjoyed hanging out on the dock, the decks, and the screened-in porch. It was peaceful and the perfect place our group to rest and be renewed. We hope to come back again!

Just not a good fit for us.
First of all we thought since the description mentioned a 1/4 mile driveway. So I assumed it was more secluded or at least private. Well it's not. There is houses on both sides within a few feet. So there was a noise complaint, that we were playing too loud. Second of all we had 2 grown kids that stopped by for a few minutes and the owner was trying to cancel our stay unless we were back to occupancy level. Then washing machine didn't work, the maintenance guy had come turn the knobs to get it to work. So obviously they have been aware that the washer needs to be replaced. Since he and the owner said u have to play with settings on it since won't work sometimes. Thirdly I could b wrong but I thought when being recorded inside or outside you were supposed to first be made aware of it. It wasn't until they thought we had too many guest was I made aware that we were being monitored 24/7.The home and dock was lovely in and of itself.
