About this house rental
Relax and enjoy spectacular waterfront sunsets year round from our beautiful, peaceful lakefront home. Only 10-15 minutes from Bellingham's core areas, yet a million miles away from the rush of city life. Our home is ideally located on a dead-end road, in a very quiet section of the highly sought-after sunny side of the lake. We enjoy bright sun well into the evening year round. Our home is perched just above the lake at an ideal elevation - high enough to offer an unparalleled, panoramic view of the lake removed from any boat noise, but low enough to be just steps away from our private beach. We have wonderful neighbors, but our property is so private that you may never see them.
Constructed of cedar logs and situated on 1.1 park-like acres with over 200 feet of no bank private water front, our spacious home feels like a resort lodge. The house includes 4 large bedrooms plus a loft, a bright well-equipped kitchen, a large open living area with floor to ceiling windows, a recreation/home theater room, and a large jacuzzi/soaking tub. We can sleep 10 in real beds (4 queens, 1 double). A large dining table just off the kitchen on the expansive deck provides a great spot for alfresco dining. Our study is equipped with a large built-in desk, high speed internet connection and printer. In addition, we have high speed wireless access throughout the house. With lots of southern exposure the house is bright and sunny year round, offering spectacular views from almost every room.
There is no shortage of recreational activities. Two kayaks and a small aluminum fishing boat are available to explore the water in our backyard. If you'd like to bring your own ski boat, we have a dock and one of the few private boat launches on the lake. Our spacious private beach is double the size of most other lakefront properties in the area. It includes a large dock, fire ring, two picnic tables, a BBQ, lots of seating and plenty of space for waterside relaxation and games. As is true with most properties in our section of the lake, the house is set across the road from the beach and at a slight elevation, which affords stellar views, peace and privacy. The beach is just steps across a very low traffic, quiet road and can be accessed via a set of stairs from the house. Those with mobility issues can conveniently drive right up to the beach.
On rainy days, you can choose from a large library, a wide selection of family games, or a home theater room with a 62' television, X-Box 360 and a large collection of video games, Blu-Ray and DVDs. On the main level, the large open living room has a stereo, but no television, and is a great place to curl up with a book by or just enjoy the panoramic view through the floor-to-ceiling windows.
There are many great spots to escape with a good book or just to enjoy the view and the wildlife (eagles, deer, and geese are all frequently sighted). You can also fish from the dock or enjoy a scenic walk on the 3 mile long lakeside trail that starts a short stroll from our home. Keep in shape with a well-equipped home gym (elliptical, recumbent bike, and free weights). Take a bike ride along the lake. Golf on one of Bellingham's many excellent courses. Ski or snowboard at Mt Baker. Or best yet, simply relax on the expansive deck with family, friends and your beverage of choice. Whatever your interest, there is something here for everyone in every season.

The house accommodated all 10 of our family members nicely - lots of bedrooms and bathrooms, plenty of areas for kids and grownups. Large kitchen for cooking up our meals, and space for all at the dining table. Nice large dock so we were able to keep our boat moored there, no need to take it out of the water each day- and appreciated having a launching ramp too. Everyone had a great time! Thank you Jaret - was so nice to meet you during our stay as well.

We had a great visit - 10 of us staying at this house and 5 other family members staying at another rental down the road/lake a few houses/docks down the way. The views were amazing and we loved swimming, boating, and fishing. Fun to have hiking so nearby. We arrived after dark our first night and it was hard to find - try to arrive at this amazing destination in the light of day!

This property was great for our 3 generation family vacation! Big spaces to gather, comfortable beds, well equipped kitchen. The lakefront area and dock were amazing. It's a quick drive to town, but felt like a real getaway.

Absolutely, beautiful property and house. We loved the hot tub, the bonfire, the waterfront, and the overall feel of the house. The only bummer was that the fireplace did not work.

The location and views from this property are stellar! We had 3 couples and the house is very spacious and comfortable. The main living/dining areas offer spectacular views. The house was very clean and functional but there are dated elements, especially in the kitchen. The oven ran at least 50 degrees off, the microwave latch was tricky and wouldn't run sometimes and the bottom drawer of the refrigerator fell out when the door was opened. The beds offer very little support and are very creaky, making a good night's sleep tricky. The listing says there is a launch for jet skis and I told the owner we would be bringing them. Luckily we didn't because the floating dock was pulled up on the land and we wouldn't have been able to launch them. I was told it was pulled up for winter but my understanding was that it would be pulled down by the time we came since it is late spring, I communicated we were planning on using it and was told we could bring the jet skis. Even given these downsides of the interior, we all came for the beautiful outdoors and enjoyed our stay. We couldn't have had a better view and great beach access!

This home is very spacious and accommodated the 10 of us very comfortably. It was well equipped and clean. There are a lot of activities available for everyone. We had a little difficulty finding the place (the address must be typed into iPhone maps rather than just clicking on the address) but once there we had the best time! Highly recommend this space for large family gatherings.

Me and 9 friends had a wonderful new years eve at this house. The only issues were that the fireplace wouldn't turn on! Otherwise it was well equipped and was pleasant to stay at, with plenty to do.

This was the second time our group of friends have stayed here for a getaway weekend. Just a beautiful view of the lake and surrounding landscape from the house. House itself if very well equipped for cooking, etc... Hope to come back again someday!

The house is located in an incredibly beautiful area. Large windows overlooking the lake are magical. The house was spacious and very clean. Not sure how, but owners have managed to ensure solid sunshine for the entire stay, which I understand is not always the case up there. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

My partner and our group of friends have stayed here twice now. It’s a very comfortable, clean and well-equipped cabin. Hot tub is gorgeous and so is the view. The private beach is so nice and the grounds are lush. We will be back!!

This beautiful house is the perfect central location, balanced between fun in-town activities in Bellingham and Fairhaven and the stunning hiking opportunities of Mt. Baker. The beds are comfortable, the kitchen well-stocked, and the view of the lake lovely. A few small maintenance issues but our host was responsive and helpful. Highly recommend and looking forward to returning!

Perfectly lovely spot to get the 8 of us together for a few days, mostly to plan our upcoming cousin reunion in Lynden. We 8 were sponsoring that 60+ ppl reunion and this week gave us the perfect place to stay, plan, and enjoy our planning time together.

We really enjoyed our long weekend at Kerrie and Jaret’s home. We were a group of 10 adults and a few kids ranging from almost 2 to 5 years old. Loved how kid friendly the house was, especially gates at the top of the stairs. We spent most of our time at the lake across the street and had a blast using the water toys they provided. The hot tub was perfect and sauna was the cherry on top! The house is spacious and very comfortable, felt like home! Would highly recommend Kerrie and Jaret’s place to anyone. We hope to be back one day!

Place was great. Lots of room. Has everything you need. Hosts were great. We didn’t realize until just before our trip that there was a road between the house and the beach. Reading the description closer, it does say it, but it wasn’t obvious from the pictures. The beach area was great, it just would have been a bit better without the road and steep hill between. Would still definitely recommend this place as a rental.

Right on the lake, but still close to town and all the mountain biking you could ever ask for. The owners were very friendly, yet very respectful of your privacy. We had a great time. 6 of us stayed with plenty of room for more.

For us it was a great family get together. The steps down to the dock are pretty steep. Several enjoyed a swim and kayaking. Fishing was not great, but what can you expect in late July.
Good hiking nearby.

House was accurately depicted in photos. Had a great “out of the city” vibe and overall was exactly what I was looking for. The separation of the lake area and house area was great, and the waterfront area is huge and comfortable. No complaints here, would definitely stay again. Thanks for allowing us to make some great memories!

The property is very much as depicted in the listing. Communication with the hosts was very good, including being helpful and patient with changing dates and getting the new payment correct. They provided a second pack-and-play for our second grandchild which was very helpful. The beds were comfortable and the bedrooms had plenty of space. There is a lot of outdoor equipment to use to enjoy the lake. Kitchen was well-equipped, and the laundry was very convenient. The views of the lake are beautiful, as you can see in the photos. Note that there is no air-conditioning, and the beautiful afternoon sunshine
really warmed up the main level. There was plenty of room for our big group - 7 adults and 2 one-year olds. We would definitely consider staying again if our travels take us back to Bellingham.

We had a great time at this house. The owners were helpful and kind, and we all found plenty to keep us occupied (pool table food ball, kayaks, floating water mat). We'd love it if you reinstalled your diving board, (but understand that sometimes things wear out). This is a beautiful part of the lake with greta views and plenty of sun.

And this is why you should read property details as well as ask questions thoroughly. We did not realize there were 64 steps down to their beach. And there were no clear pictures of a somewhat busy road bisecting their property in front of the beach! Not a great situation for my older inlaws and family. We were told we could shuttle them down to the beach with the road in front but we opted out of that option. Several blinds did not work properly to reduce solar gain on our summer getaway.

There were 5 couples of us all the men are seniors who served together during the Vietnam war. The property is beautiful along with the area. Great places to walk or just hang out. Very memorable reunion.

Took 10 people a bass boat and a wave runner, the house was perfect, lake front area was a big plus with a private boat ramp made our stay so much better! With some people still working and others (2 teachers) just trying to relax the views and Wi-Fi were perfect. Was the perfect way to start our summer!!!

Kerrie and Jaret’s home was beautiful with tons of natural light and wood. The kitchen was well appointed for our various cooking needs. The lake was easy to access from the house and we were very comfortable during our stay.

Hosts were amazing about getting back to me right away. Very accommodating with flexible check in and checkout time. So fun to use the boats and sit on the dock and the deck in the sun. We’d love to come back! Thank you!

Myself and 9 friends stayed the weekend at this lovely cabin. It’s very spacious with many bedrooms and bathrooms, so we were all very comfortable. The living area/a are roomy so everyone can hang out together comfortably. The view from the deck is gorgeous, hot tub is mint, surrounding area is very lush and green, beachfront perfect for bocce/sunbathing and taking dips in the lake. I highly recommend this place.

It provided us a place to stay when they were all in town and really gave them an awesome look into the beautiful PNW. The hosts were incredible and accommodating. Quick to reply to messages and wonderful. I would highly recommend this home!

My sister lives in Bellingham and this was the perfect retreat for a family Easter!
We did lose power on Easter Day due to winds but that is out of the owners control and it was restored by the end of the day. How is stunning we loved playing board games with the gorgeous view in the background. Would def recommend.
