We had an excellent time staying at this house. The kitchen was very well equipped, both in terms of appliances and other tools, and in terms of food items. Beds were comfortable and outside seating was nice. The owner was very nice and let us keep our camper there a few extra hours after check out. We would stay there again.

Husband and I stayed for a week. Our dog loved the private cul de sac that was in the back of the house. Nicely decorated and comfortable. Kitchen well equiped. Super easy to get to Lead. Could walk it but its about 1/2 mile. Hostess was very responsive to a tv issue we had. Would definitelty stay there again. We trailered our ATV and there was plenty of room to park Suburban and trailer. Nice bonus to have a garage to keep our Side by Side in. Great trip!

This 100+ year old home was fun to stay in and feel at home - old charm with modern conveniences. It was fun to see ‘the sites’ but come to a quiet place to relax and rest. Great little walking trails/streets in 3 directions. It was nice to have a garage for our vehicle although we felt completely safe and secure. We hope to come back next fall.

We couldn't have been more thrilled with our accommodations with this property. The house was extremely clean and beautifully decorated. We spent most evenings on the front porch enjoying a glass of wine after a long day of exploring the area. The beds were super super comfy, which made the experience all the more better. Our stay here was just the ticket we needed to decompress.

I love Craftsman style homes and this one didn’t disappoint. Location was perfect for our stay. Our Papillon pup enjoyed her walks in the neighborhood. Quiet neighborhood. Aside from 1 bathroom because we all love 2, it was a lovely stay. Adding we were aware that it was only 1 bathroom. Thank you for adding a new memory to our many trips to the Black Hills.

The property was so beautiful. The porch is to die for and early morning coffee/ late night drinks sitting on it was amazing. The home is located perfectly so you can do everything you want to do. Also, we asked for an hour later check-out as our plane arrived later and they were super accommodating. 10/10 recommend.

A very pleasant (and quiet) home. Checkin and checkout were smooth and easy. Use of the garage was a wonderful piece of mind with the regional threat of inclement weather. Not really a big issue in my mind, but the homeowners allowed the neighbors to utilize the garage during our stay. Was surprised to see people in the garage we we arrived home after our meetings. Neighbors were pleasant, so not a big deal, however we had some personal gear stored in the garage at the time.

The historic "Flower of the Hills" was undergoing repairs and we were most graciously upgraded to VICTORIAN DREAM. What a pleasant surprise!
Nicely furnished home in The Hills (literally!)
This home has undergone a lot of restoration work but as with any 110+ year old home the effort is never completely done!
We totally enjoyed our stay and the 'flavor' of the Victorian Experience. The communication and effort presented to us by Anneliesa was top notch and her concern for our comfort was well noted.
We'll be keeping Anneliesa's number on our speed dial for our next getaway!

NOTE: this review is for Victorian Dreams, and not Flower of the Hills. The owners, Anneliesa and Jim, moved us to another home (Victorian Dreams) due to maintenance on the rental we pre-arranged. They are very conscientious in maintenance and restoration and pride in ownership shows throughout this home. We loved staying at this house. It was so well appointed and full of character. It was top of the line in the way of appliances. The pantry had all the basics for food preparation. Lots of fluffy towels in the bathrooms. Many of the original details such as ornate hardware, wood floors and bannister were left intact in this home and the owners thoughtfully restored only areas that brought it up to today's standards, such as the wonderful Thermador stove! Loved using that! The bedrooms presented with Victorian furnishings and the beds were extremely comfortable. They appeared like new mattresses with memory foam. Very comfortable. We definitely recommend this beautiful home and plan to visit again. Nancy and John

Perfect for us
We enjoyed our stay. House was clean and very ready for us. We really liked eating our breakfast and drinking coffee on the porch every morning! The queen air mattress was helpful. The kitchen was everything we needed. Would have liked the option of pulling darker curtains in the living and dining rooms but not a big deal. Appreciated the effective communication and affordability.

Comfy beds. House as described.
Beds and pillows were comfy. Kitchen had everything we needed. Quiet neighborhood. Nice neighbors. Great porch for sittin and sippin. Plenty of room for the four of us. One thing that we felt needed immediate attention was the sidewalk from the garage to the house on the closest side. We did have a safe way through the man door or the back side but would have been more convenient to use the closest path. But definitely not a deal breaker! The house was as described. Cute older home. We had a great time. Thank you for sharing your home with us!

The house was our home for seven days. The kitchen was well stocked with kitchen utensils and the beds were very comfortable. The double garage was a great bonus. Anneliese responded promptly to questions we had.

If you love 12 foot ceilings, this is for you!
Property is a work in progress. Charming decor for the period of the house!! Just needed a few more instructional notes such as TV operation, washer/dryer and dishwasher. No guest book to sign. Due to shortage of help which we understand owner was not quite ready for us. Could use a few more window shades for privacy and blocking sunlight. Couch and beds very comfortable!! Loved having the 2 car garage!! And deer in back yard.

Historic Home in Lead, South Dakota
This property was our Home base for 6 days. It was centrally located and we were able to visit all the parks/sights on our list. This home was roomy and met all our needs. The bed was comfortable, the kitchen was nice and the shower was great! We had a great time in South Dakota!

Great Historic House
This is such a great property and so well stocked. I have stayed in close to 20 different VRBOs in several states, and this one was the best stocked I have ever been to. It had every kitchen item/appliance you could think of and so many spices and staple food items. And the garage is huge!!! We were there for the Sturgis Mustang Rally so having covered parking for our classic automobiles was a must and this was perfect. It was a great place to come "home" to after long days of adventuring in the black hills.

Vacation House in Lead, SD
We loved the house, and Annaliesa was excellent to work with. The house was clean and in a great location for the various Black Hills activities, and Annaliesa was extremely responsive if we had questions or issues, and she provided some great local recommendations. Loved all of the updates to the house, and it was fantastic to have the garage for our vehicle. Would 100% rent this property again the next time we make plans to be in the area.

Lovely home - quiet neighborhood
This house was just so cute and perfect for our group of 4. The location was perfect for visiting sights in the area, but much quieter than Deadwood. The little town of Lead is also great and looked to have lots of restaurant choices, but we cooked all our meals at the house. The kitchen was well stocked and we easily found everything we needed. Our favorite spot was on the patio with the big umbrella and wildflower backdrop. The owner was A+ in communication and worked hard to try to fix an issue we had while we were there. I wouldn’t hesitate to stay here and highly recommend this property for its historical age, condition and location to everything in the black hills.

Great old home
The restoration done on this home was perfect. We stayed there for the Sturgis Motorcycle rally. We were so close to deadwood and Sturgis. The beds were comfy. Kitchen had everything you needed. Even some food for our stay. Bedding and towels were provided as well. We could park our truck and trailer on the side of the garage, and park the bikes in the garage. Great views and very quiet. We had a great time.

Just like home
Very clean and comfortable. Close to activities. Had everything you could need in the kitchen, even roasting pans and crock pot. I could have made Thanksgiving dinner in there. Wonderful view from the porch. Grill on the deck was hooked up to gas so I didn’t need to worry about running out. Roomy space. Very responsive to any request we had. Had a very enjoyable experience.

Large space Great Hosts
We enjoyed the large space. We were busy every day and it was great to come home to a place we could spread out. The large garage was a bonus. Enjoyed the wild life (deer and turkey)that used the patio for a path. House had plenty of extras, was clean, and comfortable. Contact with hosts was great.
