My friends and I stayed here for a spring break weekend and had the best time! Location is great- we even walked to Main Street! Big lot that doesn’t feel overcrowded, too. Plenty of space to park!

We enjoyed this house so much! The house reminded us of my great grandparents’ house, which made it extra special to us. From the style of the house to the decor, it all stirred up so many memories and warm feelings of their home. There was even a coaster set identical to the one my great grandparents had. The house was very clean and had a great location. My kids enjoyed the pocket doors in the home and the big yard. The neighborhood was very nice for walking the dogs. It was a very nice place to stay and we would love to stay there again sometime!

Great house clean and in a great quite neighborhood and convenient to down town. Very easy check in.

We knew when booked, it wont be great experience. But did not expect it as bad as it was. They have tried to renovate a run down house. But most of the things are still in bad shape. Especially condition of doors, beds, couch and dining table is really bad. Dining chair leg support just came off while someone was sitting. Bunk bed is somehow adjusted in what would be a pantry or store room. Trash can was already full. Yard was not maintained as well.
The only good thing was appliances were new and clean. Towels were ample and clean as well.

This house has a very unique layout and does the job but is very dated. It has a great porch for sitting and is in a quiet neighborhood.

Very clean, very relaxing to leave the doors open and feel the nice breeze through the screens. Nice to nap to the sound of the wind chimes. Very quiet neighborhood. Loved snooping through the house looking at all the collectibles, books and games. Also a plus- dog friendly. We brought our dogs and they loved walking around the quaint neighborhood. Everything we needed in the kitchen. Great stay all in all. We were in town for a wedding and would love to come back again!

The home was decorated with very interesting dishes and statues ( angels). The two sitting rooms were great. The kids used one and the adults used the other one. The house was supplied with interesting books. It also had puzzles and games. We enjoyed sitting outside under the largest tree in the evening! Large dining table was also nice.

We loved the décor and 40s feel of the house. Place has a warm welcoming feeling that makes you feel right at home. We truly enjoyed sitting on the back porch on such beautiful nights

Retrofitted 3 bedroom house, unlivable 3rd bedroom
The description says it has 3 bedroom but the third bedroom hardly qualifies as a bedroom. It doesn't have AC and bathroom window looks into the bedroom, so you can barely get any sleep (there is no obstruction of light or sound coming from the bathroom)! The standing shower in one of the bathrooms reminded me of tiny, claustrophobic showers on a ship. The other bathroom has no exhaust and turns really hot starting late morning. Patio furniture needed a bit of dusting. Don't think I will book this property again.

Comfortable and quaint
Clean and comfortable home. Well equipped kitchen. Nice location away from the bustle of main street. Beds were comfortable in the 2 main bedrooms. We enjoyed the dated decor. As another reviewer said, it look@ like your grandma lives here. It was just as we expected.

Great Unique Home!
We absolutely loved our stay! The house is in a quiet, quaint neighborhood with huge lots and a ton of outdoor space. The back porch is perfect for relaxing! The inside is just as quirky as it looks in the pictures, very much somewhere your grandmother would live while still being clean and fresh and inviting. I highly recommend if you're in the area!

Huge lot, good location, plenty of room.
We would stay there again! The bedroom with the bunk beds does not have a vent, has a plug in heater. We went in May so it was comfortable but may want to bring a small fan for hotter weather.

Revisiting Fredericksburg
Previously we lived in Fredericksburg for fourteen years. Turns out we knew the person who had owned this home during that time. The house is charming and the neighborhood is as well. The beds were very comfortable. I have criticisms but that doesn't take away from this being a charming home. There was only one hand towel to be found in the kitchen. There was no kleenex in either of the two bathrooms. I found the property management company difficult to obtain answers to my questions. The additional charges above the quoted price per night were higher than any other of the VRBO homes in any state that we've rented over the years.

Charming
This house was much more lovely than the pictures. All the wood work and tile were reminiscent of another era. It was spacious and accommodating. Clean and functional. The sprawling porch was PERFECT for morning coffee and just visiting. It is In a great area and not far at all from the downtown shops. We will definitely book this property again. And btw, the pull out couch was even comfy!

Cute House
The house is very well cared for, and everything we needed was provided. It's about 3/4th of a mile from the main street shops and restaurants, but it was an easy drive. The neighborhood was very quiet, which was a nice change from the closer options.

Wine Trail Retreat
The home was spacious and they fixed a beeping smoke alarm quickly. The room with bunk beds would be great for a family with children. I already referred a friend.

The overall stay was good and we'd recommend it for people to stay.
PROS:
-The house is dated, but clean and charming, with ample space to hang out inside and a cute back porch.
-It was a little further than expected from the main area, but that wasn't a big issue for us as we were mainly interested in the wineries and ordered in food.
-The rooms are a great size, beds and linens were clean and comfortable.
- The kitchen was well stocked with necessary cooking items and coffee.
- quiet neighborhood, would be great for a family
CONS: When we walked up the front door was open, it freaked us out a little. Vacasa Management was extremely quick to send someone out and have the house checked out.
- The main door you go in and out of doesn't stay locked. You can lock it, but if you shake the knob a few times the door opens.
-one of the toilets was not functioning for the first day we were there, having a group of 4 made this somewhat inconvenient, but again management sent someone out and they fixed the problem immediately.
Again, overall we enjoyed our stay. the dinning/living area is spacious and we were able to all hang out comfortably. The location isn't as close as stated, yes the address is given AFTER you book, again, for us it wasn't a big deal, definitely not walking distance though, unless you like a long walk.

Nice house
We enjoyed the house and location. Third bedroom not much more than a closet. Dining table was falling apart. Bathrooms were clean and pretty but drains were extremely slow. Not enough TVs only one in the small den. Kitchen is nicely equipped for home cooking.

A Step Back in Time (NOT A GOOD ONE)
RENTER BEWARE:
First, I live in Fredericksburg and needed a place to stay for a week - after my house sold and my new one closed.
If I was coming to Fbg to be a "tourist" this is NOT when they are looking for.
This house, grandma died and they put the VRBO listing up. It is NOT nostalgic, it is an OLD house, there are cobwebs and caked on dirt in the windows. The yard is huge, but not kept at all and there are limbs all over the place.
it is a very dark house. The BLUE bathroom is old and nasty, including the black mold on the tub. It takes at least 30 min to drain.
There are ceramic figurines everywhere. I was waiting to find her clothes still in the closet. So it is not kid friendly.
Also, be aware - the 3rd "bedroom", with the bunkbeds. Is a porch they enclosed. There is no AC in there.
The kitchen is not very well equipped (?? there are 2 coffee pots - which makes no sense), and all her old pots and pans are still there and everything is very mismatched.
We killed two very large yellow jacket nests on the porch - note: the pic is the back porch.
If I were coming to Fbg to visit - this is NOT what visitors are looking for.
Also, twice I attempted to contact the property manager - there is no way to contact them except email or the 800 numbers - which i did both and still have not received a call back.

Great for family gathering
We loved the property! It was listed as being 0.2 miles from town and that was not accurate (more like 1.2) but otherwise quite nice.

Great weekend!!!
The house is very nice and had everything we needed for a great sibling gathering. My only complaint is that the location claims to be 0.2 miles from the center of town which entered into my decision criteria but it is actually closer to 1.2 miles, too far to walk back and forth. Otherwise a great place!

Like grandmas house
The house was nice, quiet neighborhood, good location to Main Street. The house did have a musty smell, like walking into your grandmas house. There is a lot of breakable things so I would definitely recommend maybe downsizing on the decorations! I wouldn’t recommend for small children. Great house for a girls getaway or a couples getaway.
