The home is located on SW shore of Lake Keowee in South Carolina off Highway 188 on Maughan Trail, approximately six miles from the town of Seneca and only 16 miles from Clemson University.
This exquisite 6,000 square-foot lakefront home was built and decorated by the family matriarch with the goal of having a vacation home large enough for her six children and fourteen grandchildren to enjoy together. The main house has 8 bedrooms and 5 ½ baths, with the owner's suite (Master) on the main. ***The apartment over the garage that is NO LONGER available.*** All of the bedrooms are very spacious and beautifully decorated.
The gourmet kitchen was built for a CHEF - features include a nine-foot island with a prep-sink, double oven, a five-burner gas cook top, and a pasta faucet. The dining room has 2 large circular tables. Each table has a lazy Susan and can seat 8 to 10, plus there is counter seating for four. Also, there is a small wet bar with an ice machine close by! The spacious deck has two picnic tables for enjoying lunch outdoors in wet bathing suits. The picnic tables can seat 12 to 16 kids/adults, and are less than 10 feet from the kitchen.
A fixed, covered wooden dock with attached gazebo overlooking the lake and three undeveloped islands, offering peaceful serenity. In addition to a swing, the dock has a water hose and power is available. The 18,000 acres of water and a 300-mile shoreline make Lake Keowee a popular place for boating, fishing, water-skiing, swimming, camping and picnicing. There is a public boat ramp a few minutes away, so you are welcome to bring your boat and leave it at our dock. The house also has two kayaks to explore the pristine lake with all of its natural beauty.
The backyard has a level playing area with room for volleyball, three-legged races and other activities for the children. Large hammock for watching the late night stars. Below the level playing area, the backyard gently slopes down to the lake. The driveway has ample space for ten cars. Downstairs has a children’s playroom filled with toys and a separate family room so the adults can enjoy the peaceful upstairs living room. There is a separate card room for the adults. Great property for a large family. The lake and beach is perfect and there’s lots of equipment/ toys there to use!

This property is so spacious and has an amazing setting! The kitchen is very well-stocked. We had a total of 13 in our party and had plenty of space. We will be coming back again!

Did not want to leave the property - activities for all age groups. We rented a boat, went white water rafting came back to the house for dinner. The entire family loved the beach and kayaking. Owners were extremely helpful.

The property was beautiful with an amazing view of the lake ,with easy access to the lake and dock. The house was equipped with everything you needed. The kids of all ages enjoyed the Kayaks and Paddle boards. The only downside we had was a cold and rainy 3 days for June. Unexpected, but made the most out of it. Would definitely recommend this property.

The property and owners were perfect. They had things there and available that I hadn't even thought we would need, but used. As clean a property as I have ever seen.....A super experience......

We had a great stay at the Maloney Lake House. The house is perfect for a large gathering. The location and setting are lovely, beautiful and peaceful. We were in town for my sons graduation from Clemson University. It’s a little farther from Clemson University about 24 minutes but the few times we had to make the drive it is worth the ride. The property has more than enough bedrooms and bathrooms to accommodate everyone. The kitchen and decks are just amazing and there is plenty to do right on the property that you really never have to leave.

There’s no way to state how amazing this house and property are! Our large family after-Christmas get together was the best we’ve ever had. I give the credit to the Maloney family for the way they have created a place that provides not only a more-than-comfortable home, but also a variety of activities for all ages to do. Kayaking, volleyball, football, playing on the beach, hanging out on the huge outside decks, card games, board games, scavenger hunt and hide-and-seek were all the activities our family participated in. From ages 4 to 69 - everyone had a blast making great family memories.
We loved all the “little” touches that make a stay better and easier. We enjoyed having the ice machine, two choices of coffee appliances, a second refrigerator, and a large pantry area. The kitchen has plenty of everything you can want for your cooking needs. Comfortable beds, large bathrooms and a “secret” hideaway for the little ones to play in added to the appeal of this house. The first morning there, we got to witness the most beautiful sunrise over the east part of the lake and it was a peaceful reminder that our blessings are many.
Thank you Maloney family for sharing the blessing of your lake home with us!!

This property was perfect for our large family (14 adults) celebration. It has an ideal layout for multi-generational gatherings. Everyone could gather in the large common areas, but also had privacy in their own bedroom and bath. The back deck provided not only a beautiful view of the lake & the green activity area, but also gave more gathering places outside. The protected inlet beach entry to the lake was ideal for lake access for non-swimmers in the group, launch area for kayaks/SUPS (included with the property) and overall raft floating/swimming. The location of the covered boat dock provided our access to the lake to tube/ski etc. without interfering with the others that wanted to use the beach. Overall, this property is one we will definitely revisit when another large family gathering is planned.

Fabulous stay for graduation and family reunion
This was our first stay at the Maloney house and we loved it. It was the perfect place for celebrating our Clemson grad and family from all over the US to rendezvous for the occasion. Kayaking, Paddleboarding and boating added to the wonderful experience. And having Julia on-site was an added bonus for us to hear the history of this family vacation home.

The Maloney Family Lake House was perfect for our family vacation. The house is extremely spacious and clean. My sisters in law & I commented that we have never stayed at a more well stocked vacation home. We had everything we needed to cook family meals all week. Between the kayaks and paddleboards provided, the beach, the dock & all the outdoor toys we had plenty to occupy us for the week. We had an amazing week here & wouldn't hesitate to book this home again in the future.

Amazing week for our family reunion!
This place provides something for every age, and our entire group of 19 couldn’t have been happier. Great house, great location & great owner. Responsiveness was excellent and we lacked for nothing. Hands down this was one of the best places we’ve stayed for our family reunions.

Family Reunion
This is an amazing place to stay if you have a large family. There were 24 of us and we all loved it. Some complained about the mattresses being uncomfortable. The pictures they show of this place don't do it justice. much bigger and nicer than the pictures. We are coming back again. It was a beautiful week at the Lake and we enjoyed the beach and the home. lots of space with little hidden treasures.

A Great big Family Gathering
We had family gather from across the country and had a great week at the Maloney House. There was plenty of space for all 24 of us. A few issues with the cable and internet but were fixed promptly and we didn't spend much time indoors anyway because the cove and dock swimming area was fantastic. A lot of time relaxing by the water. Easy to get to from Atlanta or Greenville airports (GSP is easier) and simple to go to town to shop or even play golf at the Walker course at Clemson. Lots of great family times and memories made.

July 4th stay
Our family of 19 stayed at the Maloney Home over the week of July 4, 2019. Everything was as advertised. The Maloneys clearly take meticulous care of their home and everything was in perfect order. We had a wonderful time in our rented pontoon, swimming off the dock and beach, playing volleyball in the yard and utilized the open living room plan for family gatherings in the evenings.

Wonderful! Couldn't have been better!
All of our family, of 24, fit in the house! It was spacious and there was plenty of light. The kitchen was amazing-everything you'd ever need-large pots, plenty of dishes and silverware. Plenty of eating areas. The bedrooms and baths were great, with plenty of hot water. We were there in the winter but 2 days were "warm" enough to play on the beach and outside. Great neighborhood to walk. Wonderful home and we are thankful for our time together under one roof!

This house is very comfortable and well taken care of. Great layout and so many beds!
What a wonderful house--perfect for our family reunion. We so enjoyed having your big house - big enough for all of us to stay in the same place for a change. We loved the two big dining tables and the spacious kitchen for all of our good cooks. And it was nice to relegate the football fans to the downstairs media room so that the rest of us could talk and play on the main floor. We have come here twice in January, so don't take full advantage of the water, porch, basketball area, etc., but it sure looks like a great place to play outside in warmer weather. Thanks so much!

Plenty of elbow room. Many rooms to enjoy. Therefore, did not feel like 25 people in house. Bonus
Plenty of activities to be involved in. Kayaking, camp fire and or Suntanning on the mini beach, hanging out in gazebo, playing volleyball, paddle boarding,

Our Annual Family Reunion on Lake Keowee
Dear Maloney Family,
This place has become a beloved space of gathering and respite over the last five years, and is serving as a backdrop for memories for a new generation. My kids begin looking forward to our week at The Maloney Lake House the moment they leave. We love the house, the cove, the kayaks, the paddleboards, the bunk rooms and the new the pool table. Our family of 7 kids, and now 7 children with spouses and grandchildren fits perfectly in this nine bedroom home. We are so grateful for this space, the memories and the way this time together anchors our family and provides respite for the year. We LOVED the NEW main level balcony - Well Done! Thank you for continuing to open your home to us. You deserve 5 Stars.
Best Regards,
J.Meyer

Family Reunion
Beautiful and roomy home. Beautiful view of the lake. And 32 family members from GA, NC and PA. We all had a wonderful time. Loved the kitchen and the porch. The yard was great for corn hole, playing tag and hiding Easter eggs. Though the water was cold, the little ones and the teenagers didn't mind getting wet. Michael was great to work with also. We definitely will come back for future reunions.

Lovely, spacious home
We had a marvelous weekend reunion with space for all the grandchildren and quiet bedrooms for the older couples, too. Has a nice little beach for outdoor play, a walled yard, and brand new 2nd floor deck off the kitchen and great room. Plenty of dining space and chef-equipped kitchen. With 2 ovens, we were able to make a wedding cake, and served home made pizza to all our guests. Great price for early spring, and enough to do indoors to cherish rainy days as much as sunny ones. Beautiful location; though there are neighbors, it felt like we were isolated from the world. Would definetely return and recommend!
