We had a perfect week in Lake Leelanau!! This property is perfect! Just 3 minutes to a grocery store, 10 minutes to Suttons Bay and Leland ( for lots of beaches, shopping and restaurants)! The house has everything you need with games for indoors and outdoors, kayaks, a huge yard for kids to play, and a beautiful crystal clear lake!

Clean, spacious cabin with any amenities you’d need, plus a large yard, dock and shallow swimming area for the kids to enjoy!

We booked this last minute and we were so glad we did. Easy day trips to Suttons Bay, Leland and Sleeping Bear Dunes. The lake by the house was world’s largest kiddie pool…clear water, great for kids, great for swimming and we loved the kayaks and beautiful sunsets. House was well stocked (minus a hairdryer) and we had a wonderful trip! There were 5 of us and it was a perfect size!

Our family of four had a lovely time at this cute, very clean property .It was close to so much & the sunsets were amazing! The house had everything we needed & my kids enjoyed having their own rooms. Some instructions on how to work the tv would be nice. It took my tech savvy husband a little while to figure it out! We really enjoyed our trip to Michigan and our stay in this cute house.

We’ve stayed on this lake five or six times, and we always love it! The house was lovely, and very clean. We loved the close access to the lake—you get both sunset & sunrise, if you want. Our only concerns were directions about TV use, and figuring out the thermostat, which we conveyed to the management company. I would recommend this house, and DEFINITELY stay there again! It was close to everything we wanted!

Been coming to the area for the last 20 years. Our long term rental was unavailable and we found this property. Clean and comfortable, the property filled all of our needs. Would recommend.
3.0 / 5.0
Because the property is SO OPEN, it meant that there was nowhere to go to "get away" from everyone else. All of the beds are full size, which I think were meant to fit 2 people each, but that did not work for us. So when it was raining, like for 2 days straight, we felt like we were going nuts trying to share this space together. It was so loud! We felt "boxed in". It just ended up being a really rough week for our family and the house definitely contributed to that. The property is great! But it should be advertised as being a VERY open space, and it was "comfortable" for 5 adults, not 7, or even 8, as advertised.

Great place to stay, awesome lication with great views. We had a small sailboat and rented a pontoon for the week and were able to dock the pontoon and tie the sailboat up to the mooring bouy. Only minor little thing would be the beds. One is a queen the others are fulls so not much room for two. We had 5 kids and three adults and used the sofa's with an air mattress we brought. Overall a great place and perfect location

The house is charming with everything you would need. There are really only 2 bedrooms and an open loft that looks over the living room area. It was perfect for us but may pose an issue for light sleepers. Management company would not divulge address until right before arrival...since we had family in the area, we had wanted to know the exact location. Management company policy seemed unreasonable. That was our only complaint.

We booked the Marcia Lee Lake House to celebrate my & a good friend’s 50th birthdays. The combined TC/Leelanau/Old Mission area is one of my favorite places on Earth, so I wanted to bring my sis & some of my best pals — who had not visited the area before— up to celebrate a big milestone. Per usual, the trip did not disappoint & the Marcia Lee Lake House was an excellent home base. The location is great & the property is beautiful! We loved just walking through the backyard to the lake to soak up the beautiful sunsets. We also used the provided kayaks & built a fire in the fire pit. The house itself is airy & open & well appointed with an ample kitchen, nice bedrooms & a roomy loft. The house is attached to the owners’ home, but there is no shared wall as a garage separates the two homes. Can be a little tricky to find; follow the small wooden “Marcia Lee Lake House” signs & turn left onto a shared drive when you see the small, vertical green “6541” sign. You’ll then wind around to the large shared property & “your” cabin will be the farthest of the two. Again, we really enjoyed our time there & would book again.

Annual rock hunting trip to new venue this year. Peaceful property with lake access, beach, and gorgeous views.

Everything we needed. Beautiful outdoor area by the lake. Kayaked and enjoyed the neighborhood loons. Comfortable beds and very clean. It was difficult to locate, but we enjoyed the stay. The only thing we would have liked was a bit more private area for sitting. Loft is open to the living area so difficult if not everyone has the same sleep schedule.

Weather was great - temps in the 70's (in 90's at home)
Rental property incredible, second time at this location.
Lake even better than we remembered.
Six of us went, two of us in our 70's, three adult children and one teenage grand daughter.
One of us old folks had to use a wheel chair, we were able to navigate the house and the yard down to the lake (with assistance).

Great place. The rental was very clean and provided all of the advertised amenities. The lake front provides great swimming with shallow clear waters and a sandy bottom. This property was located on a beautiful area of Lake Leelanau. Beach was shallow and owner provided 3 kayaks. Overall our stay was very nice. We had an issue with the septic backing up which took 3 days to correct. We could not use washer, dishwasher, kitchen sink was backing up, but we took fast showers every other day. When you are paying top dollar to stay at a lakefront property , your comfort should not be compromised. The property owner seemed genuine in her efforts to resolve the problem. However, each time I spoke to Visit Up North I received the standard corporate answer. I was told I could wash my dishes in the kitchen sink. Would you wash dishes in a sink backing up with sewage? I was told I could take a shower at the property owner’s house. Weird. In the end they refunded us less than 1/2 day’s rent. We will not using Visit Up North again

It was not what was advertised. The listing was advertised as a 3 bedroom unit when I booked the rental. We arrived to find one of the bedrooms did not have a window and the secondary escape from the room was a locked door which could not be opened. This made the room useless as a bedroom.
The description of the property does make it clear that the unit is attached to the owner's house.
When I contacted Up North Regarding an issue encountered with the property, the owner of the property showed up and got very short with me for calling the rental company. For this property you are NOT to call Up North, but deal directly with the owner. The owner was not pleasant to deal with and I do not pay to go on vacation to be treated so rudely.
In regards to the condition of the unit, while the unit is pleasant, the furniture is nicked and scratched. I was really disappointed with the hand me down quality of the furniture.

A perfect space for our group of 8 with plenty of room outside for the kids to run and play. We were delighted to find the house clean and well stocked with everything you could need. It was great to have a grill and plenty of outdoor seating. Easy access to kayaks made everything a breeze, especially when managing small kids. Remember to bring life jackets for adults and children, unfortunately we were ticketed for not having them.

Annual family vacation in lake Leelanau
A very nice week. Accommodations were very clean and well-cared for. Good location on south side of north lake Leelanau. Convenient to grocery store and gas station . Short distance to Leland and Sutton’s bay. Yard was great for picnic and games. Plenty of chairs for relaxing. Firepit at lakeside with wood was a very nice touch. We rented a pontoon boat for the week. Very shallow around dock which makes it a bit tricky but it was just a short boat ride to “the drop off” (sandbar). Would love to stay again.

2nd year staying here!
This was our second year in a row staying at Marcia Lee. We lake hopped for a few years prior (Torch, Crystal, Glen) and finally found our favorite cottage and lake! We enjoy taking the boat up to Leland and staying near the narrows is absolutely perfect for kayaking up to Boathouse winery and paddle boarding. Beautiful property and wonderful place all around! Will be back in 2021!

We had a wonderful week at the Marcia Lee Lake House. We have been going to Lake Leelanau since 2001 and have always stayed at the same beloved location. Our regular cottage was unavailable this year, so we booked the Marcia Lee. It exceeded our expectations in every way. The interior was lovely, clean and particularly well-stocked with everything we could need. The bed was comfortable and the living room furniture was great for reading, knitting, relaxing, and enjoying the view. The view over the lake from the beach/dock area was particular nice. And we LOVED the location. It was minutes from everything we like to do and from restaurants and wineries we love. Particularly nice was that the cottage is located on a section of M22 with a wide berm and limited traffic, so we could bicycle our of our cottage to Leland, Sutton’s Bay and Lake Leelanau without having to load the bikes in the car. A great rental home in a great location!

Marcia Lee Lake House
We have been coming to Lake Leelanau in the fall since 2001, and have generally stayed at the same property. However it changed hands last year and was no longer available, so we had to find a new place. The Marcia Lee Lake House was a fabulous replacement for our regular rental. It is a beautiful property, both the home and the setting. It appeared to have been recently renovated and was spotlessly clean and everything was in good working order. The bed was comfy, and the kitchen and bathrooms were well stocked. The living room furniture was comfortable and the lighting is excellent for reading, knitting, etc. It was convenient to have a washer and dryer. The view from the beach area was gorgeous. But best of all was the location. It was centrally located for everything we love to do. From wineries to restaurants, to knitting stores and groceries, we were minutes from everything. Best of all, the property is located on a quiet part of M-22 and we were able to hop on our bikes and bike to Leland, the Village of Lake Leelanau and Sutton’s Bay. It was great not to have to haul the bikes in the car to ride. Loved the property and we had a perfect vacation!

Lovely spot on the lake
It’s nice once inside and the back yard is big. The area around the fire pit and deck is beautiful and peaceful. Kayaks were provided which was great. The beds weren’t super comfortable, but overall the inside is nice.

Location, location, location
Traveling with 3 kids under 6 this property was ideal and true to it's description. The lake was lovely, clear and shallow for a very long way. Being in the spacious backyard using the fire pit, kayaks, and space was our favorite. Geographically also close to all the cute towns - Leland, Traverse, Sutton's Bay, The Dunes and more!
In transparency when you drive up you see the backside of the duplex and I was concerned until we parked and walked around the front. It was very quiet and secluded with all the things we wanted.
Simple suggestions would be to add kid/outdoor friendly plates and cups; and beach towels. Traveling from Texas so packing these essentials was not possible. From a cabin perspective, my preference is a more minimalist look so removing some of the extra furniture in the loft that isn't usable would be a nice touch. Some simple updates on decor could go a very long way.
would recommend!

Beautiful log cabin interior, with plenty of space for guests. A well-equipped kitchen, and endless outdoor space. On the rainy days (though thankfully these were very rare) there are fun games to play indoors. On the sunnier days, the options outside are varied. Sunbathe in the lounge chairs, kayak on the lake or narrows, which are right around the corner (and three kayaks are provided), build a campfire at the fire pit near the lake, or stargaze on the lawn. Sunsets can also be breathtaking. Hosts live on the grounds, but we felt like we had the place to ourselves 99% of the time. There isn’t much to walk to, as the town is tiny. But it’s a short drive to Fishtown and also not too far from Suttons Bay. The garbage situation is hard to figure out, so make sure to ask someone ahead of time!
