About this house rental
"Treetops" is a little touch of heaven! Away from the hustle and bustle - the office desk or the paddocks - our unique house offers an escape that is both functional and picturesque. This truly beautiful property, nestled in a tropical garden, offers a quiet getaway only six minutes walk from Durras beach in the Murramarang National Park.
The attractive cedar house is well laid out with quality furnishings and comprises two upstairs bedrooms with one King and one Queen bed. Downstairs there is a rumpus room with bunks and Queen bed, entertainment unit with TV and DVD and a second bathroom. The external staircase to the rumpus room downstairs is covered and leads from the decking area - children over 5 yrs love this room as it gives them a sense of adventure!
Visitors will enjoy a well-equipped open plan kitchen and living area which has very recently been extended. This has enhanced the views to the garden and allows more light to filter in. The renovations open out to an extended and very spacious deck complete with barbeque, market umbrella and outdoor furniture. Inside there is a great range of adult and children's DVDs, CDs, books, games and activities to suit all ages and interests.
Our house is very private and very quiet.
There is no town water in Durras so that rainwater is collected for house usage and restrictions such as short showers and guests providing their own towels and linen, are requested. Despite having to be mindful of water, you will find there are many attractions to this beautiful environment. Magnificent parrots, pigeons, bower birds and finches alight the deck providing interesting photographic opportunities and the enjoyment of feeding our bird life and the odd cheeky possum! Kangaroos and their joeys are constant visitors as well as the very occasional goanna and a resident, non-venomous diamond python!
Over the last 13 years we have welcomed lots of families and couples from all parts of the globe to our home which has many of the extras we know you will enjoy. Do come and try Durras - we think 'Treetops' is the pick of the bunch!

What to do in South Durras
South Durras is one of many beautiful beaches along the south coast located in the Murramarang National Park. The scope to venture out and explore this magnificent coastline is limitless. You can take a bike or simply walk the tracks to find these hidden gems. On the other hand, you might simply want to stay and relax in peace and tranquillity at beautiful 'Treetops'. Winter is the perfect time for doing this with the fire to keep you cosy and the opportunity to snuggle up with a good book or your special person!
Although there is no restaurant in South Durras, if you want to enjoy a meal out or breakfast next to the sea, Batemans Bay is not far away and also has an array of shops, movie theatres, galleries and sporting venues. Fishing is plentiful in Durras along the beach or off the rocks. You might be lucky enough to watch a pod of dolphins or even whales in springtime. The lake provides a perfect opportunity for kayaking and the calm waters are ideal for toddlers. I am told that the skate park at South Durras is excellent and is being upgraded. Swimming and walking opportunities are bountiful. And if you enjoy birding or 'twitching' you have a perfect spot at 'Treetops' to watch and enjoy!

There were 6of us. Three couples in our 70’s and 80s. All family. We enjoyed the space, the deck and Bbq, the smart TV and music. Went for lots of walks and as a “birdie “ I loved the variety of visiting birds The kitchen was superbly equipped and the beds comfortable

We had a wonderful few days in this great beach house with wraparound plant and animal life. First time I’ve heard a frog for ages and the birds were spectacular. Fiona, the host, was very kind and organised.

We just a wonderful week at Treetops. Treetops is in a quiet location, walking distance to Durras beach and the Murramurang National Park
The property is very clean, well presented with all the mod cons. Loved how quiet and isolated the property felt but being so close to everything, a family needed
Thank you Fiona for being a great host, comms was excellent, prior and throughout the stay
Treetops is a hidden gem suitable for couples, young families or families with teenagers, like ours.
Durras beach is suitable for all, with smallish waves but I would recommend going in the morning as we found blue bottles, were out, in the afternoon
Thanks again Fiona for sharing your wonderful property.
I highly recommend Treetops.

Had a brief stay with family and the accommodation was fabulous, warm, plenty of places to watch the birds or visiting possums and kangaroos. A short walk to the beach and 20mins to batemans bay.
Owners were awesome and super good with communication.
Would stay again but longer.

Relaxed beach house vibe
The house is well equipped and well thought out. Not huge but the wide deck adds plenty of extra room to spread out. It was perfect for our small family reunion after Covid had prevented us being together - it had been almost 2 years since seeing my son & daughter in law so a very special holiday. The bird life is fantastic & provided plenty of entertainment. Fiona was always quick to respond to any queries & very helpful when I had left some things behind. A most enjoyable break in a comfortable house in a lovely location. Would stay again.

Amazing time at Treetop holiday house!
We found that Treetop property is very welcoming and charming. Trees all around that gives you privacy. We loved the fire place in the evening and feeding all the colourful friendly birdies in the morning. Great place for family, have everything you need, fully equipped kitchen, games, books... just need to bring your own bed sheets, pillows and towels unless you pay extra for it. Great location, close to the beach. Fiona is an amazing host! Easy to communicate with and makes sure we have everything we need. We recommend this place, we had a fantastic time!

Tranquil rainforest setting
A very cosy, beautifully equipped sanctuary in a rainforest setting, lovely photos and paintings on the walls, very comfortable bedrooms and with gorgeous parrots, possums on the rainforest deck and kangeroos hopping by. 5 minutes walk to the dreamy cookies beach, with clear clear water and little fish ,rays and good calm swimming. A fantastic log burning stove for those cold winter nights and Batemans bay about 20 mins away for supplies . Highly recommended ; we will be back !

Cosy and leafy. An ideal spot for Sth Durras beach
We loved staying here but didn’t realise that the downstairs accommodation did not have internal access. It is the same thing as the rumpus room. So we had to bunk together upstairs with the kids. Would suit families with older children and teenagers.

Wonderful house in South Durras
We had a great stay at Treetops. The location is quite unique, in the middle of the National Park and a short walk away from the beach. The house itself is big, with natural light and a big terrace surrounded by trees and birds. Fiona was a great host

Very Relaxing
Treetops is a beautiful house. I loved all the little extra touches.
The only complaint i have is the house is run on tank water which I had not known. I paid extra for linen, very over priced i think. The top bunk bed was not made and the second bedroom. It would of been nice to have a choice in which beds to sleep in.
But other than that it was a nice week away.

Beautiful weekend away!
Highly recommend Treetops! The house is in a gorgeous spot and feels very secluded in the trees, comfortable and well-equiped with essentials, and nearby beaches are absolutely beautiful. Just make sure you bring ANY linens you might need (pillowcases for master bedroom, bath towels, bathmat etc – if you forget anything though Batemans Bay is only 20 mins away and Woolies has everything you need and open till 10pm!). We had such a fabulous stay and definitely hope to be back!

We were very happy to slow down for a few days surrounded by beaches, forest, birds and kangaroos. Treetops is quiet and comfortable, in close proximity to Bateman's Bay. The whole process was seamless.

Amazing house
We went with our 3 year old and friends. The house was in an out condition. The little touches were so thoughtful. The house was at a peaceful location and the highlight of the stay was the birds that would come to the deck everyday. The woodfired heating was an added bonus. Amazing experience overall. Will definitely come back

Cosy holiday home among the birds and trees
Treetops had a cosy atmosphere. The fire place in the middle of winter was a real gem! The children loved the separate downstairs bedroom. The birds were a source of raucous entertainment. The location felt very private.

Peaceful and relaxing
A lovely quiet place where you can feel at home but still be on holidays.
The fire was so nice and cosy and the birds in the morning were a delight. I wanted to pack the bed up and bring it home, it was so comfortable.
The kitchen was well equipped which made it easy to cook from home instead of having to go out for dinner.
Thank you for having us

A beautiful spot - short walk to the beach
Tree tops is a beautiful spot to stay. We had native birds feeding out of our hands in the mornings, and after a brief stroll to the beach watched pods of dolphins jumping out of the water.
The house is very comfortable, heating is fantastic and beds were very comfortable.
Only one point to note for families looking to stay - the 3rd bedroom is accessed outside the house and therefore may not be great for younger children.

Weekend getaway for 2 families
From the minute you pull in to Treetops, you know you're in for something special! A beautifully appointed holiday house, with room for 2 families with our teenagers retreating downstairs. You can tell Fiona and Geoff enjoy their house as a holiday bach by how well the kitchen is stocked for cooking and entertaining. The wildlife is just beautiful and very approachable, birds of all colours visit on the deck and seem to propmt you to grab some seed from the pantry. Beds are very comfortable and fitted with quality doonas and covers. Overall cleanliness of the home is outstanding. The corner store is a 2 minute walk and Cookies Beach is an easy 10 minute walk. Lake Durras has lots on offer and a 5 minute drive away. Fiona and Geoff are simply a phonecall away if needed. This well thought out property, location and facilities make it simple to walk in, put the bags down and start relaxing!

A must for kids
The bird life is phenomenal, the kids loved the birds feeding of their hands and the possum who come in at night. Evertything you need to be comfortable and we loved the fire. Local shop just round corner and beach is beautiful. We really enjoyed our stay

Perfect weekend away!
We had the most relaxing time while staying at treetops. The property has everything and more to ensure our stay was comfortable, almost like being home. It was a cooler weekend so we enjoyed sitting in front of the fire, watching some movies and kicking back. Probably the best part was the quietness and darkness that you just don’t experience in the city. It’s close to bushland, walking tracks and lovely beaches! I can’t wait to come back and stay at treetops, hopefully longer next time as 2 nights is just not enough!

Tranquility
Geoof and Fiona's property is the best. It transforms you from the present to a tropical island. It is simply beautiful to be part of. The comfort of the house is exactly what we were looking for from the warmth of the fire to the peace and quiet of sitting on the verandah watching the king parrots eat on the freshly placed seed in the bird feeder. Its easy walking distance to the beach was also a must do, as it took only about 10 minutes. We loved our three night stay and will be back :)
