About this house rental
Our place is in close proximity to art and culture, and near great restaurants. The Balloon Fiesta park is only 4 miles away. Balloons pass by year round. Skiing, golfing, biking, and hiking, are all close by. You can catch a train to Santa Fe only a mile away.
You’ll love my place because of the old world charm, the light, the neighborhood, and the outdoor space. My home is good for couples, solo adventurers, business travelers, families (with kids), and crated furry friends (pets).
Our place has thick adobe walls. The original house was built in the 1940s. Rooms were added as needed, in true New Mexican style. The house has really been updated with modern amenities, but we've tried to preserve its charm. We have a very relaxing patio, with a nice BBQ grill. The kitchen has stainless steel appliances, and is very user friendly.
Guest access
You can access all two acres of our property. The only area that is off limits, without prior notification, is the storage/casita structure in back. You have all access to the house, front yard, and patio. You can walk back to the orchard, or even stroll around in the pastures.
Interaction with guests
We have a property management team that can answer questions and meet you if there are any problems. The owner is accessible by email, and can also answer questions.
The neighborhood
The original neighborhoods and settlements in New Mexico all occurred near sources of water, where food could be grown. That is the type of area our house is located in. It is lush and green. This is something that contrasts much of the desert landscape, and adds a true beauty that artists Ansel Adams and Georgia O'keffee captured.
Getting around
We are very close to I-25 and Paseo del Norte (near Journal Center). Downtown Albuquerque and the airport are about a 15-20 min drive. Santa Fe is about 45 min to the north. The RailRunner commuter rail is a mile from the house, so that is also an option to Santa Fe (the plaza) or downtown Albuquerque.
There are plenty of parking spaces on the property.
Also, there are extensive bike trails in the area, including one along the Rio Grande. Everything is very accessible from our location.
We have artwork from a local photographer on walls throughout the house. It adds a special ambiance to the house. The artwork may be purchased as well!

Great location in the North Valley, convenient to Paseo del Norte, Alameda, and Rio Grande Blvd to get anywhere you need to get to in town. Convenient to the Balloon Fiesta Park, and shopping. Grocery and drug stores are nearby for food and other essentials.
Check in and communication with the manager was easy and no hassle. Property had everything we needed for our 5 night stay, visiting family for the holidays.
We had family members come over to the house to 'hang out' several times. Anything more than 5 in the living area would be uncomfortable. The dining table sits 6 comfortably.
We did not use the patio area due to the time of year, but there is plenty of space to enjoy a drink and a meal during the more temporate seasons. A grill is available.
The washer and dryer are newer, at the time of this review, and washed our clothes just fine.
Overall, we would definitely stay again.

I loved the house, it is in a quiet neighborhood, we drove 10 hrs and owner let us check in early. It does need a door on the master bedroom it just has a curtain. I will definitely use him again. The kids loved the chicken in the back.

We stayed 5 days at the Village Casita. Nice and comfortable and although we had an issue the first couple days, it was resolved quickly by property mgr and maintenance man who were very helpful. Very quiet neighborhood and close to all amenities.
