This property sits right along the ocean on one on the most cared for beaches in the area. The local hospitality is awesome, and the community surrounding the house is full of wonderful short and longer term residents. Our family was very comfortable and will definitely visit again.
Thanks for making this holiday fantastic!

The house is better than the pictures. The views are unparalleled. The property manager went above and beyond in securing childcare for us when our nanny got sick at the last minute. The pool was perfect for small children who are learning to swim. There is even a communal space just outside the pool gate with a hammock. Cabarete has been a charming destination for us since before we had kids, with a a relaxing vibe, good restaurants and a car-free, shoe-free lifestyle. Almost everything you need is along the beach and a handful of fun excursions are a short taxi ride away.

This spacious home offers gorgeous views and easy access to Cabarete beach. The kitchen is well-stocked with any cooking tool you might need, and there is plenty of seating inside and out. The area feels private, but is an easy walk down to the bay area. Everyone was very friendly and easy to coordinate with. This was one of our favorite rentals in Cabarete!

We loved the location! The house is right in front of the ocean and you can sit and watch the kite surfers from the grassy area behind the house. The only thing I didn’t like was the floors were slippery for our little twin 1 year olds, but immediately Erika brought over a coupe of floor mats to try to help! She was very attentive and responsive to all of our questions or concerns. We felt very safe with the constant security guards that were on staff for the community. The people in the neighborhood that lived there were also very friendly. We had a great stay and would stay here again.

The house was as described. Right on the beach within walking distance from town but still far enough to not be overwhelmed. The place was clean and the service was great Opt in for the chef services so you dont have to stress about anything! Kites were in the air everyday and the place next door rented equipment at a fair price. One thing I do suggest is bring your own shampoo etc because there wasn't any in the house.

Stayed for 4 night over Christmas and couldnt have asked for a better experience. The location is amazing, the beach is gorgeous and there is plenty to do within walking distance of the villa. Absolutely loved it, just about as perfect as it gets!!

Exactly what we needed in a vacation.
Superb location and villa was excellent with a few minor issues. It took 3 days to have properly working fridge that made ice. This was important as we needed ice for our drinks. The TV was not working and after it was repaired, it still did not work. Cleaning and security staff were amazing. Please tip them as they do a wonderful job.
Overall the villa and location was perfect. Erica was very helpful during our stay.
Highly reccomend this villa if you have a large group.

We rented this for our 4 college age children and ourselves for DEC 31- JAN 6, 2017. House worked well for a family of 6 (5 actually made it). The following are my comments by category:
House stuff: master bedroom bed was the most uncomfortable mattress and height for people over 40
Other room beds same level of quality but at least right height from floor
Bathrooms comfortable and user friendly
Living room furniture not used because we sat outside most of the time on house VERY NICE patio furniture
Kitchen not up to standards of American households- no actual oven, cooking with propane indoors, and giant water bottles to cook
There is literally nothing in the kitchen BUT plates, cups and silverware. You need to buy salt, pepper, ice, etc.
AC in bedrooms only- not a problem for us because we are there in winter, but Living area may get warm in summer
AC in bedrooms works really well!
No access to laundry unless you tip maid to do your personal stuff
Pool is great and perfect for when the beach is crazy rough with wind
Beach:
In mornings it is swimmable for adults who are strong swimmers. NOT FOR SMALL CHILDREN
In afternoons so many kite boarders and wind that you will not enjoy beach outside of just watching others play
In evenings it is great for a walk- kitebaorders clear out around 6pm
Not Caribbean white sand- but very big beach area and steps right from the house back porch- NO SHELLS
Security- never felt safer/ guards at front and back where beach enters 24 hours per day. Gated area and very few people coming and going we never closed our doors when we were home
Town- typical small beach town with lots of tourist shops and people wanting to sell you tours.
Island- Do the waterfalls- but if over 40 or in bad shape do 12 or less- we did 27 and at 48 and slightly chubby I thought I was going to die
Transportation- taxis are easy to get and motorcycle taxis are even cheaper- don't need to rent a car unless you plan on going to other towns
Staff- cook and housekeepers DO NOT SPEAK any English, not a problem because one in our party speaks a lot of Spanish, but could be a challenge if no one speaks Spanish DO NOT SHOW UP on a holiday- everything was messed up or closed because of our arrival on NY Eve

Great House - Adding Travel Tips For First Time Visitors
Cabarete is a great little area so we are happy we chose this house and this area for our first trip to the DR. The most important thing we learned is to fly unto Puerto Plata airport. We saved a little but of money flying into Santo Domingo but it cost us a full day of driving and was a super stressful drive.
Fly in during the day. Bahia De Arena is the name of the housing development where the Villa is located and it's not super easy to see off the road. Fly in any day except Sunday as the office is closed and Erika ( works in the rental office) is really the person that can help your stay go easily.
If you fly into Puerto Plata you can get a taxi to the house and then later rent a car in town if you feel you need it. Everything is in walking distance but it was handy to have a car to go get grocery's and to get to our day excursion destination. The next best person to know in town is Joseph who owns an excursion business next door to Iguana Mama excursion business. Use Joseph for your bookings and he can also give you much needed advice and education on restaurants and just getting around in the area.
The House! Great house and you really can't beat the fact you have a pool and the ocean right in front of you. We enjoyed both every day all day. The house has 4 bedrooms and is very roomy. The main bedroom has what we would call a king size bed. The second bedroom has a queen. The third bedroom has 2 double beds and the kids room has 2 sets of bunk beds where our teenage sons all slept comfortably. The house is equipped with everything you need. The cleaning lady Jaqueline was very nice and good but speak no english so if you want her to do the laundry you have to let her know and we paid extra for this service. We tipped her $5.00 a day and then $25.00 at the end of our trip. The pool/yard man Morano is very nice and helpful and we tipped him $35.00 at the end of our trip. If you need anything extra from anyone let Erika know and she can communicate.
We booked Illuminata as our cook for 3 nights. You can get the menu from Erika and Erika arranges. Grocery's cost about $30.00 for 8 people and we paid her $30.00 - $35.00 per evening she cooked. Her fish and sauces were amazing as well as the stew. Pass on desserts. She speaks no english so you need to let Erika know if you have an special instructions. Also if you state you would like to eat at 6:30 make sure she is at the house by 3 cooking. Late dinners every night.

Awesome location
Great house for groups or large families. Our group of 12 (5 adults and 7 teenagers) were quite comfortable in the house. The location cant get any better as the house is 20 steps from the beach making it easy to get out to kite or just hit the waves. The walk to town is easy and having the Cabarete Coffee Company only minutes away was a huge plus (they have great coffee and food). All of the staff was very friendly and helpful, in fact, one of the security guards noticed our flat tire on our rental car and proceeded to help us change the tire! Also, as others have done, we had Illuminada cook for us and it was fantastic!
A few areas of criticism on this house; the kitchen was under-equipped and for lodging asking as much as they do for a weeks rent they should have it fully stocked with plenty of utensils etc. Additionally, the view of the ocean/bay from the patio is blocked by the wall and hedge. The pictures don't show you that view, only one from the side of the house where there is a view. Also, having some furniture on the rooftop patio would be huge - it's an amazing spot with great views and could be a fantastic spot for happy hour and more.
All-in-all its a great house and you can't beat the location!

Villa was fantastic
Property was right on the beach. Beautiful view. We had our own pool. Every th was as described. It is well managed.
Air Con was good and the place was really comfortable. This villa is the best located in the complex.

Beautiful Beachfront!
Our extended family of 10 enjoyed a week in this fabulous beachfront property! The house is gorgeous and directly on the beach. It is in a gated community with 24 hour security. The manager, Mark, was very helpful in answering questions and making our arrival seamless. On windy days, the beach is loaded with kiters and windsurfers from about 11am on...not good for swimming. However, morning boogie boarding was great and on low wind days the swimming was perfect! The beach is clean fine sand where you can walk out quite a ways before it gets too deep.
We hired a cook for the week, Illuminada. She was wonderful and arranged though Mark. She prepared some delicious local dishes that we enjoyed tremendously. Ana cleans the house daily which was great considering all the sand we trekked in. Manuel did a great job cleaning the pool and the grounds.
The house itself was in great condition. There are four bedrooms (two bedrooms with queens, one bedroom with 2 queens and one bedroom with 4 bunks). It was clean and well cared for. The only trouble we had was with the dishwasher and one of the air conditioning units...which were a plus for sleeping! The pool was perfect for the kids...age 12 and under. It is an easy walk to downtown Cabarete...a great spot for lunch or dinner.
We kited, windsurfed, paddle boarded, zip lined, visited the monkeys, visited the local school with donations, jumped off waterfalls, went fishing, body surfed, built sandcastles, swam and walked for miles!
It's a wonderful vacation destination!!!

Simply Amazing
We LOVED our stay here!
The house was perfect… one of the best, if not the best property in Cabarete. We were four adults and three kids (aged 4, 6, 13) in Cabarete for some R&R and kite boarding. There was lots of room for us to eat together inside or out, hang out as a group or have some quiet time apart. The pool was fabulous and maintained every day (half the pool was shallow enough for my four-year-old to stand). The location on the beach was ideal as we could launch our kites directly in front of our house. The view was fantastic and watching the sunrise from the patio was the perfect way to start the day.
Property manager Mark was extremely helpful in arranging a ride to and from the airport (for seven people and all our gear), as well as suggestions on where to bank, exchange money, and grocery shop. His office is on site so he is always around to deal with any issues or questions that may arise. He arranged for the amazing Illuminada to cook for us and we had many delicious meals. Housekeeper Ana was great, always a smile and a special "Hola" for the kids.
We took kite lessons from Damien, Marie, and Cory of StarKiting (highly recommended). They are located in the Bahia de Arena complex and conveniently bring all their gear down to the beach in front of the house, which was perfect as we were able to hang out at the house as we waited for the wind to come up.
If you don't hire Illuminada (or another cook), it is a short walk along the beach to a string of restaurants. The Cabarete Coffee Shop is a two minute walk away at the entrance to the Bahia de Arena complex. They sell delicious espresso, sandwiches, and brownies.
One thing I would bring on a future visit is a few beach/pool toys for the kids as there was nothing like that at the house. Otherwise, the place had everything we needed and we look forward to returning one day soon.

A pristine, perfectly located Villa close to Cabarete, but not too close!!!
Our family of 6 (4 teenagers) really enjoyed the experience of this Villa on Cabarete beach (West-end). It was in great shape, renovated I believe for the most part. Very comfortable with many nice sitting areas inside and out of the Villa. In a private enclave of other Villas, which made you feel secure and special and located right on the beachfront with a Stone wall and hedge to provide you ultimate privacy. Everyone in our family, without exception, found this place to have all we needed for a comfortable, convenient vacation away from the noises and distraction of resorts, yet close enough to walk to Cabarete Beach for a meal in the evening. Kite Surfing for us (when the winds were up) was very enjoyable to watch and added an excitement of sorts to our stay. The stretch of beach from one end to the other was great for sunrise and sunset walks or jogging during the day for exercise. The sand and beach access at waters edge was perfect and poses no problems for kids, seniors or even non-swimmers as it is a gentle sloping beach with no sudden drops at the waters edge. You don't need a car if you plan on staying in the Cabarete area for you entire stay, other than airport transfers. Great restaurants located withing a mile or less and all the other shopping that you might need is close by. Also the Pool was a great addition and is very clean and well kept, great for a rinse off after spending the day at the beach. The maid does a superb job daily and is very pleasant and stays out of your way.
All in all this Villa was a special treat for our family and allowed us to spend quality time together without distractions.
We would definitely go back to this Villa. LOCATION LOCATION LOCATION!!!!
Thank you to Mark the Manager for being available for us if we needed any questions answered. He was a great help.

just the best
The house was fantastic, the pictures actually don't do it justice. the view is spectacular. We were here for a week for a reunion/bachelor party with 8 grown men and the house had plenty of room. the building manager mark was attentive and responsive. We will definitely be back

Ideal location, plenty of space, good food and interesting tourist attractions
Bahia de Arena is a gated community of 19 houses. Just feet from the beach, this house is in the absolutely prime position within this small development. There is an almost constant breeze and there are plenty of room around the house, garden, patio and pool area for relaxing and taking in the wonderful views, especially of the kiteboarding.
We traveled as two families (each with two teenage girls) and found the house well equipped (including board games/wifi/books). The pool was also a big hit. There was maid service/pool service every day other than Sunday. There are a couple of good supermarkets in Cabarete and the house was well equipped to cook at home, this said we had some memorable meals out --at Bliss (we went there twice, it was so good), Natura Restaurant at Natura Eco Cabana and Spa and at Brasero. Also tried great baked goods/coffee at the Belgian Bakery. Only one disappointing meal out really -- at Jose O'Shays -- though the name alone should have been a giveaway! We also booked to have a chef come cook for us one night -- well worth it -- this was one of our favorite meals.
In terms of things to do locally, one not to be missed trips is to Monkey Jungle & Zip Line Adventures : this place is a new concept in self-sustaining, charitable giving -- the place operates a professional zip line park and separate hands-on experience where you get close up to spider monkeys in a reserve-like setting and its owners uses yr tourism dollars to fund an on-site, free dental/medical clinic for the poor, and provide jobs paying above average wages to its staff of locals. Would also recommend taking a yoga class at Natura Eco Cabana and Spa (beautiful oceanfront setting) or a tennis game or horse ride at the Sea Horse Ranch - an oceanfront resort nr Sosua with a v professional Equestrian Center. Right outside of town there is also a great half day adventure at the El Choco caves and national park: you get to swim in several underwater caves and explore the tree and plant life around the caves.
Our only criticism of Cabarete is that it could get quite noisy during the evening -- this said the house was the right distance away from the center of town (close enough to walk in along the beach but not so close as to be disruptive). If we have one criticism of the house it is that we would have loved to have some outdoor furniture on the large rooftop terrace, which also needed to have lights replaced.

Absolute paradise!!!
I have stayed at Estrella 3 times now, with the most recent stay lasting 2 weeks! THE HOUSE was spacious with an open floor plan, perfect for our large party of all ages; people sat at the dining table with their laptops, cooked in the kitchen, played cards or watched tv on the sofas, and read magazines in the glass nook, as the north coast winds came thru the doors and windows. There were 4 patios. 4!! The front lounge area is where i sat every morning and drank my coffee while my kids ran around the property. The back patio is where we ate almost every meal, which overlooks the yard and pool. The pool is surrounded by a perpetually blooming hibiscus hedge (& there always seemed to be a nice shady area at any given time). Last but not least, the roof deck screamed for a hot air balloon launch pad, roof top yoga, or a dance party, because it is out of this world! THE LOCATION was perfect for our family with young children. Without being on the sand, the house is right ON THE BEACH and was only a 2 minute walk to the sand, priceless! We easily packed up our beach gear and were at the beach in the drop of a hat. Likewise, we returned just as easily, washed off the sand at the outdoor shower, jumped in the pool, and were ready for out next activity. If you are a kiteboarder, this is where all the fellow kiters of the community ran to check the winds; if the winds were up, you would see them running back to their houses/apartments to grab their gear. We walked into town almost daily with 2 toddlers, an easy 10-15 minute walk without kids or a 25 minute walk if you are going to chase the tide in and out, collect shells, and stop and watch the kiters. Cabarete is a fun, low key, rustic yet trendy little beach town that is right off the beaten path. THE SERVICE was outstanding and consistent. The daily maid service was always pleasant, in fact, it has been the same people every year, who we now know. The pool guy even brings fresh coconuts and pours the juice into pitchers. The management company was very responsive to all of our needs. There was a great selection of games to play, baby gear (infant bath, high chair, crib, toddler utensils etc.), pool floats, etc. From the airport pick up, to arriving to Estrella, the most coveted house of Bahia de Arena (which I witnessed when other renters of the community gawked at our house and even a couple asked for tours for possibly renting in the future), we couldn't have asked for a more spectacular stay!

Everything at your fingertips!
