UPSTAIRS / The tastefully-decorated newly-renovated, Tybee Time apartment has a complete kitchen with stainless appliances combined with the attractive living area that features a full sized sleeper sofa for a plus one. This bed is not suitable for anyone over 6'. Two barrel-shaped, comfortable red sitting chairs are made for relaxing, reading or watching television, which has DVD capabilities. The bedroom accommodates a queen size Sleep Number bed with adjustable firmness mattress. A spacious closet with shelves, suitcase stand and coat racks provide plenty of space for clothing and personal items. The screened porch has two comfortable red rocking chairs that are just right for a relaxing finish to your day in the sun. An energy efficient, ultra quiet Mitsubishi heat pump AC/heat unit offers plenty of heat during cold months and plenty of cold air conditioning in the summer. Ceiling fans inside and on the porch gently move the air as well.

This apartment is just right for a couple or a couple with a small child or two adults and a close friend who doesn't mind sleeping on the sleeper sofa. The downstairs apartment may also be rented to allow for plenty of room for family and friends.

On the south facing wall is an incredibly beautiful ocean life mural designed and painted by world renowned artist Mary Jane Volkmann who was assisted by owner Cathy J. Sakas. On the front of the cottage the sassy Octopus watches over her Lair.

Our nightly rates vary with the seasons and include a two-night minimum, plus hotel/motel taxes & fees (see rates). Discounted weekly and monthly rentals are also available.

Such a cute apartment equipped with everything we could have needed for our stay but didn’t bring! Including beach chairs, fans, etc. Would absolutely stay here again!

Located in such a great spot. Short bike ride from beach, right on the bike trail and down the block from the IGA. It is small but was perfect for me and 2 kids. Very clean and the bed was very comfy. Would stay again!

Visited Tybee for the 2nd time. Family is stationed in Savannah so came in and decided to stay on the island instead of in town. What a great decision!

We truly enjoyed our stay at the Octopus Laire. Great central location where we could easily walk to the beach or the market and a quick drive into Savannah. Cathy was very thorough and quick to respond if we needed anything.

I love the 2 block walk to the beach! Fishermen’s pier was a gold mine of a find! The red rocking chairs on the porch is my favorite place to relax & people watch!!

The owner of this property is very sweet, connects with you and thorough. Great communication with any questions I had, the place was very clean, convenient to the beach ( a walk away). All pictures and descriptions are exactly that. The atmosphere was that of the beaches and ocean which added to the atmosphere for me of being on vacation. I really enjoyed a sleep number bed ~ smiles~. I am sure to come again, but for much longer next time, and this was my first of many to enjoy in the future.

Online listing details spot on. Very clean, with eclectic decorations and comfortable furniture. Located on a "bike path" street with very little vehicular traffic. West facing screened porch was icing on a very colorful cake! Convenient to beaches, restaurants, and shops. Honestly, our departure came way too soon. We hope someday soon to return!

Walking distance to downtown and beach. Just park your car and go explore! 2nd time here and it doesn’t disappoint. Bed is so comfortable and a good shower. Will be back !

We stayed five nights at the Octopus Lair and it did not disappoint! It was extremely clean and inviting and a great price! We had everything we needed for our beach vacation. The location was perfect! Almost everything we wanted to do was a bike ride away and renting bikes was easy and a really fun way to see the island. We got an Uber for the dolphin tour and to spend the day in Savannah, but other than that, we were able to walk or bike everywhere! We came home each evening to a quiet, clean place and slept like babies! Thanks for sharing this beautiful spot in the world!

We enjoyed the location in dynamics to the downtown area and the beach and went for lots of walks. The firepit and the front screened in porch with a good view were very relaxing. The bed was comfortable, the kitchen appliances were newer and the free on site laundry room was definitely a blessing. Savanna was only 20 minutes away and was beautiful. You'll enjoy it.

We really enjoyed our stay. It was close to the beach and to all the restaurants.. It is a clean environment ..The only issue we had. We would have liked to have a better living room experience.. the couch is very uncomfortable could not sit two people comfortable. I think a small chase lounge or a small sectional would work better for people to enjoy sitting next to each other.

We’d never really spent much time on Tybee, but we were pleasantly surprised. We found Cathy’s rental by chance and have since decided we will be going there often! It is in walking distance to almost everything that we wanted to do. Everything was sooo clean! The screened in porch was a major selling point as my husband and I love to sit on the porch and talk. The place is small, but sooo intimate and provides everything you could need. I think the kitchen is bigger than our own! We didn’t utilize it this time, but have plans for next time. Hands down, one of the best vacations we’ve ever had.

We had a wonderful stay here for our anniversary. The location was perfect for riding bikes everywhere we went. You can get to all areas within a 10 min bike ride. The apartment was simple and had everything we needed.

The Octopus Lair is such a cute place! Very clean, had everything we needed, and right in the middle of Tybee Island. We were able to ride our bikes everywhere. It is a perfect spot for couples to relax and enjoy the island. Host was awesome and sent us tons of information and recommendations! We would definitely stay again!

It’s what kids and I needed. If we could, we would live there. Easy to walk to beach, restaurants. Felt so safe, being a single mama that’s very important. Help us just to enjoy everything. Check in 12 snd check out 12 was a plus! Who don’t want a full 24 hours for your money. Great price. Pray get to stay again soon!

My Husband and I just got back. This place wad perfect for the two of us. Close to grocery, bike rentals and Sting Ray's The screened in porch was lovely to sit in at the end of the day. Owner was quick to reply.

House is cute and in a great location but does need a bit of TLC. Unfortunately we had an issue with the AC but Cathy did her best to handle the issue. She was very receptive. The House is in a great location if you are a walker, quick walk to the beach. House is closer to the Pier and the area around Fannies. If you want to be near North Beach, lighthouse, etc. it is a pretty far walk, we did it one day and the lighthouse and felt it for the rest of the week (21,000 steps not counting the lighthouse :). My suggestions - I know you try to keep your costs low but these shouldn't cost much - need a laundry basket, food strainer, dish strainer to dry dishes and recycling bin, we would have had no problem taking the cans to the recycling spot but had nothing to put them in. All and all a nice trip, nice area, could be Super space with a bit of maintenance.
