The house is great! Full kitchen, full laundry, fully stocked bath towels. We had 4 bedrooms. The porch is great, cant really see the water from the porch but you're only steps away from being on the beach. We enjoyed sitting in the rocking chairs, listening to the waves and enjoying the breeze. They have chairs available right on the beach access. Just grab a chair and go. They also provided a beach shade which was super easy to use and kept us from getting sunburnt. They provided coolers as well. Saves so much room in the car not having to carry all of those supplies. The owners are extremely kind and helpful. We really enjoyed our time. We also celebrated my daughter's birthday while there. We made a day of it at the aquarium, then played on the beach, and ended our day riding the music express on the boardwalk. Fun for all. I would definitely recommend this property and would rent again. Thanks for letting us stay! Lacey, Matt, Lucas, and Mady.

I recently had the pleasure of staying at this wonderful rental house near the beach. The location was incredibly convenient, just a short walk to the beautiful shoreline. The host was exceptionally friendly and easy to work with, making the whole experience smooth and enjoyable.
One thing to keep in mind is to bring a few daily living supplies with you, such as toilet paper, trash bags, and laundry soap. This small consideration didn't detract from our overall experience, and we had a fantastic stay. I highly recommend this place for anyone looking for a beachside getaway!

We visited Carolina Beach for a girls weekend (4 adults and 4 teens). This was great for us. There was space and privacy for each of us, as well as great spaces for gathering. I will definitely check this spot for availability the next time I plan a trip to Carolina Beach.

I arrived (mother of 3), w/husband, my 15, 18 & 21 yr old w/1 friend each. This was a family/birthday wkend for my son. We are big UFC and Celtics fans. We planned to enjoy a day at the beach, have a bday meal, and enjoy a night watching a big UFC event. We arrived and strangly were approached by the owner which felt awkward right away, she directed us all how to park, and insisted on giving us a tour of the small place before giving a key. It was uncomfortable & seemed weird right away.We then were told they live upstairs- DOES NOT say this in the listing! That is deceptive! I would have NEVER booked this place. We like privacy, and stay away from controlling owners-like these older folks. It put a huge "damper" on the entire wend and knew our excitement when we watch games etc, would rub these old folks the wrong way, but we did our family fun, laughed, played card games, enjoyed wine, prepared for the celtics game. We hooted as the game was close, got excited like people do, and clapped. But no means were having a big party-Duane=owner- pounded on the door and said other guests complained and would call the cops! Wow! They didn't realize we knew the guests under us and we spoke to them both- they did not complain-so he lied and it was actually the owner saying this. It completely ruined our son's bday weekend-we couldn't show excitement or have fun! It was horrible. both owners were controlling and expect people to not let lose from busy lives after spending $1000s! NOPE!

Girls weekend was a huge success in large part due to this stay. We had everything we needed and everything was clean and access to the beach was amazing. Close to everything fun to do in Carolina Beach. Highly recommend!

We came to celebrate a son’s graduation from UNC-W. What a great house for family to gather! The owners have thought of everything! The space is comfortable and well equipped. We ate fresh crabs outside on the picnic table- they even had crab crackers in the kitchen! We definitely recommend this house and hopefully will be back! Thanks for sharing your awesome house!

We loved how close the home was to the beach and easy walk since we came for a fishing tournament.
The house was nice and clean. We had 8 family members and the floor we were on would sleep 10.
The listing did say they would prefer cars and of course we were driving trucks and it was very hard to park at the home and we had to pay for one truck to park off site. One of the other rentals had a truck too.
If you plan to drive a truck I would recommend staying somewhere else. I would also recommend bringing tissue and paper towel. The home didn’t have a full roll
of either when we checked in.

We escaped for a multi-generational getaway to the beach. We set out with hopes to relax and enjoy time as a family, but were welcomed to so much more. Genevieve and Duanne were the perfect hosts for the week and they have really thought of everything you could possibly need to make your stay enjoyable. From beach toys and tents for our 9 month old, to coolers and games for the big kids. The house was well stocked, better than most vacation rentals we visit. The location was perfect as well, right on the beach, and short walk or drive to all that CB has to offer. We look forward to returning in the future.

Our family surprised my husband with a birthday beach trip. We were nit disappointed. From check in to checkout, Genevieve was a gracious and attentive host. The space wascperfect for the two year old. We found many treasures inside and outside to entertain us all. But the sunrises from the front bedroom windows above everything was worth the trip.

We had the best time. We’ve came to Carolina beach for years - but after staying here, we have found our new permanent vacation rental! Genevieve and Duane were so accommodating and nice. The place had anything we could need. Umbrellas, beach gear, games to play together, extra blankets.. you name it! We have already booked our next stay!

We had a girls getaway for three 60+ aged ladies! This is the perfect ocean front place for friends or families! And just steps to the beach. It’s an extremely clean and absolutely gorgeous second floor apartment. We were so glad to find this place and can’t wait to go back. If you arrive at night just be aware that the beach has a high step down where the waves crash against the sand at high tide. But it’s a gorgeous wide beach! We loved this place!!

My family and I stayed here for a long weekend while we were in town for a wedding. The place was very neat and tidy and the private beach access and views were awesome! The hosts were great, always available for any questions, and very quick to help with any need. This place was definitely inviting and made for a great trip.

This home was immaculate and directly on the beach with its own private boardwalk to the beach. The backyard had corn hole and lovely little gardens. The patio was perfect for the evening with a beautiful ocean breeze. The bedrooms were spacious and comfortable and everything was immaculately clean. Lots of living room space for the family to gather for food and card games. The hosts, Genevieve and Duane were so kind and welcoming. We enjoyed our stay so much and will definitely book with them again! Thank you for a wonderful week!

We had a great time staying here for the weekend. The house was very pleasant and we had plenty of room for the 8 of us that were staying. The hosts were nice and helpful and we had very easy access to the beach. Would definitely stay there again!

We wish the weather would have cooperated, but we still had a good time. Overall, the house was nice but there were a couple of issues such as a bathroom shower that was leaking downstairs and we were not able to use it so six people had to use one shower. There were several tiny, baby roaches in the kitchen and bathrooms, and also in the bedroom that we had to kill. Overall, the location of the house was really good. However, there was a lot of noise outside with people being really loud even at 11:30 PM at night. Not sure if there is a noise ordinance after a certain time , or not. The unit itself was nicely decorated and the owners were nice

This older home is very clean and is decorated well. Owner met us and was efficient and friendly. Location is on the beach and has a boardwalk out the back door.! We rented the 4 bedroom and we did not realize that we did not have the whole house. Renters were below us. The other groups were friendly and not a problem but we had to be careful of noise. The only reason I gave a 4 star instead of 5 is the parking. Only 2 spaces allotted for each unit. We had 10 in our party and had to resolve parking 3 midsize cars. Overflow parking is more than 2 miles down the beach and was an additional cost. The home however was clean and met our housing needs.

We have a beautiful time. There was beach gear and games that we hadn't expected that make it more enjoyable. The online listing didn't show all the bedrooms and bathrooms so we weren't sure what to expect. Everything worked out well and we had a great time.

I thought I had rented the whole house, but that wasn’t the case! Instead I had only rented the second floor of the house! The house was four separate units with tenants occupying the bottom floors! The weather was very nasty, so instead of having my mom’s celebration of life on the beach, we had to stay inside which disturbed the tenants underneath us! I was told it sounded like a “heard of Buffalo”! There are only 2 parking spaces for a rental that says it can accommodate 10 guests! You have the option to park your car at the owner’s friends house for $10 or $15 a day depending on the size of your vehicle! The friends house is about 2 miles away from the property. Not convenient! My guest that came to the property had to pay for parking! I wasn’t able to relax and enjoy time with my family instead I had to taxi people back and forth to their cars! It seems there should be more information upfront, so others can be more informed prior to booking.

The unit is very clean and has “old beach house” charm. The feel of great grandmas home, subtle to strong musty odor, outdated appliances (oven temp light does not work so you have to guess the temp, fridge door does not shut without a shove, washer works when it wants to), unlevel floors, bathrooms that are very narrow, shower head 5 1/2 feet from floor, old stained tub, toilet 3 inches from wall. Windows in home do not have coverings except for bedrooms - which are thin curtains that do not block bright light from neighboring condo building. We were provided 2 partial roles of toilet paper, a partial roll of paper towel, 2 small hotel bar soaps, 2 dishwasher pods and a small bottle of dish soap - for a 9 day stay. Linens and towels are extra charge, bed linens were plentiful, one towel and wash cloth per person.
When we booked this “home” 10 months ago it was represented as a “beach house” the ad even spoke of the beautiful 3rd floor view. VRBO advertises single dwellings / structures and no owner contact. We quickly found out that this was the opposite as we were greeted by one of the owners for a tour, she stated that she and her husband reside above but “would not bother us.” It was not the beach house we thought we rented but one floor of a beach house (there are 2 units below and one above - where the owners live). The outside space for gathering (where the one grill and corn home are) is actually shared by all units. The beautiful back porch of the unit is up against the shared space, there was no private space for our family to gather. The owner was present daily, blowing sand off the walk in the am with a leaf blower and doing multiple other tasks right outside the windows and by the porch. It was very uncomfortable as we were expecting private space our family could enjoy. During our visit we contacted VRBO with our concern of the misrepresentation of the property and owner contact. The VRBO Representative we spoke with stated she would escalate our concern and discussed finding us alternate accommodations. A few hours later I received an email stating that our case was closed. AND, the description of the property was changed to condo and references to the third floor and such were removed from the listing.
I will not rent through VRBO again as they did not stand behind their advertised business model.
On the positive side: unit is very clean and has direct access to the beach which is beautiful.
