About this house rental
If its fun and relaxation you're looking for, The Harrington Lagoon Hideaway is your place. Have fun creating memories and trips to look forward to. Located minutes away from the historical town of Coupeville on Whidbey Island, this house offers not only a peaceful sanctuary, but a stepping-stone to the magical waters of the Puget Sound. This house is on a huge corner lot with a neighbor on one side and the Lagoon on the other.
Upon arrival to The Harrington Lagoon Hideaway you'll have plenty of parking room for your guests and your toys including a Boat, Travel Trailer, or RV. The front and back lawns are large enough to accommodate most outside activities. A huge front deck will give you and your guests plenty of room to enjoy the warm morning sunrise and the cool evening sunsets. In the back of the house, a covered patio will give you and your guests shelter outside if the weather turns rainy, or a nice retreat from the sun on those hot summer days.
At The Harrington Lagoon Hideaway, you'll enjoy views of the Puget Sound, Mt. Baker, and Camano Island. Also, an unobstructed view of the Harrington Lagoon, which is home to many different species of wildlife including: Bald Eagles, Blue Herons, King Fishers, Osprey, numerous water fowl, and even sea otters on occasion. Deer are often spotted in the area too. Of course here, salmon fishing is more than just a hobby; it's a way of life. If you have a boat, bring it! We have a community boat launch that you can use at your leisure. The launch will put you just minutes away from Penn Cove. This is where the world famous Penn Cove mussels are harvested and shipped across the nation. Also a few minutes away, by boat is Oak Harbor (by car about fifteen minutes). Here you can enjoy most of the amenities that a big city would offer but with a small island appeal. A short drive from The Harrington Lagoon Hideaway is the Keystone/Port Townsend ferry. Here you can take the ferry to the Olympic Peninsula. This is a 45 minute ferry ride one way. The location of the home is unique because there are so many different things to do and see but all are either minutes away or a short drive.

The kitchen was stocked better than any we have stayed at. Beds comfortable. Good location. The host communicates very well. The power was out in the area prior to our arrival and they kept in frequent contact as the day progressed. Happily it was restored just as we were a few minutes out. We will stay again!

2 small families had a great time. Love the location.

We enjoyed our stay, mostly due to the cleanliness, roominess and location of the property. The house itself and the surrounding neighborhood are older and the view is partial. Otherwise, check in was smooth and communication was great.

The house felt like we were staying at home. The place is very comfortable with all the features of home. Plenty of pots, pans, cooking utensils, comfortable beds and a good wifi. The location is another plus for us since we were able to launch our kayak from just down the street. The only negative was the US Navy touch and goes during one night but that is an issue everywhere on Widbey Island. Coupeville is just a short drive from the house and a wonderful place to just walk around. The house has air conditioning but we did not need it. Close up the house during the day and open the windows at night. We would recommend this place for somewhere to stay on Widbey Island.

We loved the location of the house for our sisters’ vacation. It was great for relaxing and going from one end of the island to the other. The house was definitely one of the best furnished for anything we needed that we have ever stayed in. We would stay here again.

Check in was seamless. Pretty view of the lagoon and rocking chairs on the front porch. The house was clean and the kitchen was very well stocked. There were toys for the children and the neighborhood was very nice and quiet. Very close to Coupeville, Langley and Oak Harbor. We will stay there again at some point.

We found this vacation home on beautiful Whidbey Island. It was just the getaway we needed.
Home had everything we needed to relax and unwind.
Located in quiet community near the beach. It appealed to me because I like to 🦀 fish. I was able to use the private community boat ramp and the fishing was excellent nearby off shore. There was just the 2 of is this time, but this home is large enough to bring more of family on our next visit. It was easy to reach our Host for questions if we had them. We look forward to our next stay. Thanks

Took our 82 year old mom to our old stomping grounds. Saw old friends, listened to the sound of freedom (Navy airplanes) and enjoyed beautiful fall weather. Taking my hubby back to this same place soon! Highly recommend! Host was AMAZING!

Myself, my parents and my two young children had a fantastic stay. This was my second time and my parents first time visiting this lovely vacation home! Everything you need is there, the home is clean, close to enjoy day trips or just enjoy the ocean and lagoon that’s on your doorstep. We all hope to be back soon. Especially my 2.5 year old who has asked to go to the beach house several times since we’ve returned home! Thank you for another wonderful stay!

We decided to have a short family getaway with our infant and toddler to explore Coupeville and Whidbey Island which we had never been to before. The location was perfect to explore the area and for quick trips into Coupeville. The house was extremely clean, easy to access, kitchen was stocked, our son loved all the toys (especially the beach bucket), neighbours were friendly, and the welcome binder was very helpful. It is obvious that Suzan takes care of her home and the needs of all her guests. We hope to return soon as there is so much to explore and enjoy!

The property itself was great. There were some safety issues that were not particularly kid friendly, (picnic table bench was broken, horseshoe pit was not affixed, so when sitting on the logs they began to roll away (and oops, there were a lot of termites!)
But it was exactly as described, not too precious for a large family gathering.
It was really well stocked with every tool we needed. We loved the walk to the beach and the resident great blue heron who scared us silly every night from the trees nearby.
Recommendation: Make sure you document the state of the property (more detail is better) We were charged for stains on sheets and towels from self tanner/makeup/tinted sunscreen and we didn't bring or use anything tinted or colored. When the charge was debated, there was no flexibility despite the cause of the stains not being known, and host was hostile and accusatory.

Stayed here last year too. Both times very clean and well kept. Games and dog toys. 11 and 7 year old love it. Saw deer, a bald eagle, her eaglet and a whale. Would definitely go back.

Nice house with lots of room, excellent kitchen, accommodating hosts. We were here as a base for car shows on Saturday and Sunday. It was a great comfortable place to land and relax. Local folks came by to see the cars and talk, take some pictures.
Here are a couple suggestions - the outside of the front of the house could use a good pressure washing - it's appearance, when we got there, made me worry, but turned out the inside was immaculate. There was only one single bed in the one bedroom, we didn't need it but it shows 2 in the pics on VRBO

Peaceful Lagoon House
This clean, peaceful home was the perfect location to not only relax, but to explore the island. The home itself is located in a quiet neighborhood with a beautiful view of Harrington Lagoon and the Puget Sound, Camano Island, and the top of Mt. Baker in the distance. There is plenty of space both inside and out for families to play and relax. The birds and rabbits provided morning and evening entertainment throughout our stay. It’s just a short drive into Coupeville, but centrally located to explore all parts of the island. The Georges were wonderful hosts that go above and beyond to ensure a fabulous stay on the island.

Well managed vacation rental
We were on Whidbey Island in July 2022 for our son's wedding at nearby Crockett Farm in Coupeville. We were a party of six and all was well. We have stayed in many vacation rentals over the years and previously owned two ourselves. We found this property to be exceptionally well-appointed. But for a medical emergency, my sister her husband would have joined us in their camper and as advertised, there is plenty of space to park an RV.

Perfect for families with small children
I rented this property for my daughter, son-in-law and their four little ones. The location is on a quiet cul-de-sac, perfect for trike and bike riders. A private beach is within walking distance and provided hours of sand play and shell hunting. The kitchen is well equipped, and the barbecue outdoors was great for cooking while observing the children playing. My family loved this place!!

Spacious, comfortable house for a Whidbey retreat
This was one of the most comfortable VRBO properties we have stayed in: it was spotless, well-appointed, and more than large enough for our family of 3. The open floor plan made it easy for everyone to be together without being on top of each other, and the selection of extra bedding, towels, games, etc. was much appreciated. It is a little bit of a hike to the beach, past a bunch of 'private property' signs, but the lagoon was great for a kid to paddle around it. Would definitely stay there again!

House was perfect; great location, kid friendly and clean!
House was perfect; it was kid friendly and clean! Location of the house made for an easy drive in to Coupeville which was nice when toting kiddos around if we forgot something! Would definitely recommend it to anyone looking for a place to stay on Whidbey.

Perfect weekend away!
The house was lovely and the location was perfect. We could walk to the beach, watch eagles soaring above and ducks on the lagoon, and take a quick trip into town to stroll around Coupeville. Our kids loved the toys and games, and we appreciated the fireplace and views. The kitchen had everything we needed to cook up the Penn Cove mussels we bought in town.
