As a family of six, we are always looking for affordable lodging. We had booked this home before and felt comfortable doing it again. There are many updates that could be done. The beds were comfortable. Beautiful setting, plenty of room for everyone, basic amenities. Be sure to pack toilet paper and garbage bags as you are supplied with a minimal amount.

Stay: late Oct 2023 for 4 nights
The house is a dated beach house. Not in bad condition (exceptions below), but dated and used enough that it didn't feel clean.
The bathroom had a painted popcorn ceiling with mold on it, so we ran the bathroom van the entire time to keep it dry(er) in the bathroom and also to keep negative air pressure on the bathroom.
There was a standalone dehumidifier by the wood stove in the main area that we ran the entire time we were there. We emptied its water collection tank (a few gallons in size) about two times each day. By the end, we were able to keep the humidity in the house to around 47-52%. The house didn't smell really musty, but it did have a bit of that smell when you first walked in.
Along with the datedness of the house, there were a number of things that needed some TLC. Things like, one of the lamps in the main area was finicky; some of the dishes weren't clean, so we had to wash anything before we used it; the kitchen cabinets had an old cabinet smell that made other things smell like that; there were cob webs in the upper sections of the main windows; etc. Made you wonder what else might have been missed...
When booking this rental, it was hard to tell if the management company (Vacasa) might have improved things because of similar feedback from other renters. From what I can tell, they have not. I'll be looking for something newer and more obviously clean next time.

This house is in a neat location, and it is within walking distance to the beach. You have to cross a road and walk a short way alongside the road, but that's ok.
The house itself, well, it's a bit light on amenities, rather minimal, and seemingly hasn't seen many upgrades, but it has all the basics. Running water, a shower, beds, a refrigerator, lights, electricity, heat (once I found the thermostat, but that was a "me" problem). There are some towels by the front door, which was nice. Also, the washer and dryer were super convenient.
The upstairs bed was pretty lumpy. I stayed on it the first night. I switched with my daughter the next morning and the downstairs bed was much better.
The checkout instructions said to start the dishwasher, but there was no dishwasher, so I hope it sufficed to just rinse the few dishes we used. The small kitchen sink only had one section, so a full washing of the dishes is going to be tricky. But that's just a bit of nit-picking. A few more small things, the outlets were ancient and could be replaced so they aren't loose, and the bedroom door isn't aligned with the door jamb, so it wouldn't close without basically forcing it down. It'll be broken clean off by a future visitor who is determined to lock that door. And the Internet was very slow. But we weren't there to surf the net, so not a big deal.
One thing I quite liked was the noisy heater. We were there in September and the nights were cool. Furnace noise is very comforting. That's one thing I miss with these newer, quiet furnaces.
On one of our mornings, a group of eight elk moseyed through the neighborhood, a few of them stopping to graze on the vegetation in the front yard. That was a nice touch. One of the highlights of the trip.
There are massive trees around the property. That's pretty cool.

Location was perfect for us! We enjoyed being able to walk a short distance to the beach and Haystack Rock every day. It is close to the Southern part of town on a quiet street, so you can walk to some restaurants and shopping. The house itself could use some updating and TLC.

Could use some updated and more comfortable furniture. Very nice to have a wood stove!

My wife and I stayed for a month from mid November to mid December. This is not the ideal time to be in Oregon for most people but we wanted a change of scenery and a get-away from the usual routine. This worked out very well for us. It was our first time on the Oregon coast and was a great retreat with lots of quiet and beautiful nature. The house was comfortable and met our expectations.

Needs work with basic cleanliness. Rusty registers, musty smell, cobwebs and insects, mold in bathroom.

Great location, everything in the house worked, and a beautiful area around the house, like living in a tree house. If we come back this way we would certainly stay here again. The beach is 2 blocks away and wonderful.

Convenient location! Plus nestled in the quiet & wooded neighborhood. Ample sleeping options. Definitely needs new couches as they're beyond repair to be comfortable & very small kitchen if you want to cook. Enjoyed our stay!

Family and cozy environment
We never rented a cabin for the whole family before. The price per night was really cheap comparing with the comfort of the cabin. We are already talking about renting again the same place

Family, all adults
Only thing better would have been an ocean view. The access to beach was very near. Could walk into Cannon Beach.

Keep coming back every year
We love this place and love the location. Has become a home away from home. Thankful for how easy it is book, the great views (just a block away from Haystack Rock!!) and of course the fireplace. We have enjoyed the stay for the past 3 years in the fall and look forward to coming back again next year.

Lovely quiet forest setting!
The easy access to the beach, while being on a quiet gravel road and close to the bike path through Cannon Beach made for a wonderful retreat for us and the kids! Lots of walking into town for ice cream and visits to the beach. The layout and big windows make the space feel large and for our family of 5 beautifully.

Beach escape
We escaped the snow event in Washington just in time to make it to this lovely little hideaway at the beach. The neighborhood had a local herd of Elk hanging out at the end of our street, the street was quiet, picturesque and calm. The rental house was perfect for our little family of 5, lots of room to spread out and a full kitchen for meals at home.
Discovered that we are not very capable with a wood stove, but it was warm and cozy when we gave in and burned a duraflame log in the woodstove.
Would definitely book again!

Nice Covid Christmas 2020 Getaway
Somewhat above average beach house. Spectacular beach walks a short walk away. Downtown limited due to covid-19 in late 2020 - not their fault. Haystack Rock spectacular at evening low tides. Interesting hikes, etc. within an hours drive. Bring your own coffee, tea and sugar if you need your morning caffeine and wine glasses if their are more than two of you...

Older home in great location but needs to be cleaned better
The location of the house was great and the check-in and check-out process was easy. The house looks a little older in the pictures so I wasn't too shocked that it smelt like an old house (i.e. grandma's house). However, my biggest issue was that it was not clean. There were cobwebs in all of the window sills, it was dusty in a good amount of places, the dishes and cups were mostly dirty, the bath mats were dirty and the drains in the sinks and shower need to be cleaned out as they quickly filled up. If these issues are taken care of, I would definitely recommend this place to a friend due to the location and the price was very reasonable.

Great location, substandard property.
This property is ideally situated in Cannon Beach. There is easy access to the beach and to town. The cabin itself, however, was substandard. A smell of mildew permeated the entire cabin. There was a serious lack of basic amenities. We cannot recommend this property unless some serious improvements are made.

Me and my two teenage boys had a good stay in Cannon Beach - this house had what we needed and is in an excellent location!!

Cute chalet style house
The house was well equipped and cozy. It smelled a little musty when we first entered. Very close to Haystack Rock and the main road. It was very quiet at night and had beautiful landscaping around the house. Can't wait to get back!

Great setting, convenient location, lots of room
This place is a short walk to the beach & to a local quilt store. It is clean and it has a beautiful outdoor setting. There was plenty of room for our stay & we will be booking a return visit to this house.

Great location, just 1 minute walk to Haystack Rock and Beach! Cabin is well equipped in kitchen and all around. The only thing we did not get to work was the TV- instructions would be great!

So Great
Highly recommend. Close to Haystack. Able to walk to the beach every day. Enjoyed the walk to Pelican Brewery and Sleepy Monk several times. Loved the home. Great stay!

Great location!
We had a very nice stay. Great location, very close to the beach, we could even walk to the downtown. The cabin is functional, the futons are quiet firm but it was OK for the week end.

Haystack Hideaway
The location was great, and the house was clean and very comfortable. We had all the kitchen supplies we needed except the coffee pot is way to small. The wood stove was definitely a bonus and I will be staying here again!

Family vacation - Cannon Beach
Overall we had a great time in Cannon Beach. We were walking distance to Haystack Rock and Sleepy Monk for a morning coffee. Lots of room in the cabin (only 4 of us) and the ability to watch Netflix on the TV was great at night for the kids (need to have it installed on your device). Home was clean and central. Only one of the three beds had an actual mattress the others were futons and a bit "firm". Nice deck for a morning coffee and all the supplies in the kitchen if you want to eat in. Our kids had a blast and we will definitely be back to Cannon Beach.
