About this cabin rental
Nestled in the woods of the Blue Ridge at Beech Mountain, make the Dennis Den cabin your next romantic getaway or family adventure.
Whether you are coming up for skiing in the winter, hiking and biking in the spring, experiencing the magic of Wizard of Oz in the summer or taking in the changing of the leaves during the fall. This charming and modern log cabin is the perfect four season destination.
The Dennis Den is off the beaten path but it’s just a quick 5 minute drive to the slopes, restaurants, the free sledding hill and the general store or a 2 minute walk to the Upper and Lower Pond Creek Trail for a nice hike. The cabin is also convenient to Banner Elk (10 minutes), Grandfather Mountain (20 Minutes), Boone and Blowing Rock (35 minutes).
• Cozy up by the Fireplace – don’t worry about chopping firewood, just cozy up to the thermostatically controlled gas fireplace and enjoy the views from the den
• Relax Outdoors – enjoy a book or beverage on the wrap around porch while sitting in vintage bentwood rocking chairs. Take in the beautiful rhododendron, roast s’mores on the fire pit or BBQ your favorite meal on the gas grill.
• Enjoy the Wildlife – see the deer that meander by the cabin nearly every morning and evening, listen for the chipmunks that scurry through the leaves or simply enjoy the birds that frequent the woods.
• Modern Conveniences – you don’t have to lose touch with the real world because the cabin is equipped with all the modern conveniences. WiFi, Cable, Smart TV in the Den with access to Amazon, Hulu, Netflix and Disney+ and the upstairs bedroom has the same along with some board games and puzzles.
The Dennis Den is a log cabin built in 2006 and has a split level design. The Master Bedroom with Queen Bed is on the main floor as are the Den, Dining Area, Full Bathroom and Kitchen. Upstairs is a Second Bedroom with Twin Bunk Beds, a Futon (full) and second Full Bath. With 16 foot ceilings and windows all around, the Den is great place to relax by the fireplace. Should you have extra guests, one of the sofas in Den is a pullout that can sleep 2. For those with a little one, we have also Pack-n-Play in the upstairs closet, so don’t worry about packing one for the trip.
The cabin is fully equipped with everything you’re accustomed to. There are lots of great dining choices in town but should you want to cook, the kitchen has everything you need (Keurig, oven, microwave, refrigerator with ice maker, pots, pans, plates, cups and utensils). If your days ends up leaving your clothes wet or dirty, the main floor has a washer and dryer to get things ready for the next day and there’s a private parking pad can accommodate several vehicles. We provide all the linens and towels, so just bring what you need to make your stay enjoyable.
Our family has made lots and lots of memories at the Dennis Den and we’re hoping you, your family and friends will do the same.

Overall it was clean. Everything worked well. It was exactly what we needed for our time at Beech Mountain nice, easy road even with heavy snow road was extremely well-maintained. We had zero issues. We will be returning to this location for Beach Mountain as it is an annual trip for skiing for us.

The cabin was very cozy and the environment is beautiful. We had an amazing time snowboarding nearby at Beech mountain. Will return!

Upon our arrival the Cabin the weather had become quite treacherous with high winds and flood warnings. Rob was very attentive to making sure we let him know when we had made it in safe. Both our vehicles are all wheel drive and we had no problem. The town does a great job of plowing and laying salt after ice and snow. The parking is very good and it is a breeze to get to and into the Cabin. The cabin was well stocked and clean and very close to the parking lots for Beech Mountain. We had a very good week and would choose the Cabin again. Thank you.

The cottage was perfect. Very, very comfortable and well stocked. I would highly recommend this rental. The area is beautiful and worth a visit.

The house was clean and inviting! We even saw 5 deer wondering through the yard! Quiet neighborhood! Easy check in and check out! Would totally stay again and recommend it!

the property was great for us as it is very close to a lot that we own

Picture of the front of house is misleading. Parking is above and you have to go down a hill. It was difficult for my mother (91). The reason I chose this house was because it only had 3 steps. It was convenient to everything we needed. Could use a good cleaning. Some furniture not dusted, water scum on inside of sink cabinet in kitchen, house had a strange odor.

I spent a month at the property. I had everything I needed to prepair meals, beds were comfy, any issues that arose the owner responded within the hour. Close to the store and restaurants. If I could have stayed longer I would have. I would recommend this to anyone that wants to decompress or entertain your who family.

During our stay we spent most of our time on area trails. The cabin is close to multiple trail sites. This was our first time taking our dog so it was nice that the owner is also a dog owner and was accommodating to us bringing our pet. The cabin was well furnished with kitchen needs and also close to the towns of Beech Mtn and Banner Elk for when we wanted to eat out. Lots of privacy, which we prefer.

Had an amazing stay with the family. Very peaceful

Very unkempt. When I swept, full of dirt and dog hair. No consideration that guests were coming - closet, bureau, medicine cabinet messy and filled with owners belongings. Oversized furniture in small space. Bugs in light fixtures. Grate over filter never cleaned, spent an hour cleaning it in the bathtub. Poor lighting. Road often closed with daily construction

Deer Meet and Greet
It was amazing to see all of the deer visit the yard. We had at least 8 visit. The house is cozy, perfect for a family or 4 adults. Just stop at the grocery store on your way in and you won't have to leave the mountain. If you go to Banner Elk, make sure you eat at Stonewalls. Its superb!

Fall Getaway
This was a perfect short getaway for us and our little dog. Cozy house, kitchen is nicely stocked with dishes and utensils...even sharp knives!
Great hiking, and comfortable beds.
We would come again!

Plus vs. Delta
First the plus...the kitchen was well stocked, the place was clean and the beds we're comfy. It was very homey. The Delta...improvements.... We had trouble knowing what to do with trash as there was no sticker for recycling center and bears got into outside containers. No fault to owner but it was right on the road with a lot of loud vehicle and foot traffic. It would have been nice to have more deck space as the living area inside was small. Overall, we enjoyed our month and we're happy with the experience.

Will stay again!
Quiet cozy cabin. Owner is very responsive to any questions. We stayed this past June. The kids loved it and we enjoyed ourselves while staying there. Nice quiet neighborhood and friendly residents. Many deer! Absolutely loved it and will be visiting again!

We will be back! Good Value & Responsive Property Manager - we will stay again!
I'm going to give this an honest review - and let me say we will rent this property again as we found the property manager helpful and responsive & the property was a very good value.
Let me start with what we loved about the property - the location was great! Easy access to everything on the mountain - just minutes from Fred's, ski lodge etc
While it was just me & my husband staying there, it can comfortably hold a family of five. The listing says it can handle 8 - & it can - but it would be a very tight fit.
They were also very flexible with us on allowing our five dogs (we have show dogs) to stay with us. It can be difficult to find a house willing to take that on.
The kitchen was well supplied with everything we could possibly need to cook full meals. It also had a great big charcoal grill outside that was perfect for the night we hosted our extended family for a cookout.
All appliances are fairly new & all worked well.
The master bedroom was small, but had a memory-foam mattress that was very comfortable. Plenty of blankets for cool nights, and plenty of pillows for everyone. The bed had a leg that had been broken (& repaired) - so it doesn't look great, but was comfortable for sleeping.
The second bedroom looked very functional - & has its own full bath. Would have been great for kids - their own space to sleep & play.
The house has a great porch that wraps around at least half of the house - it was wonderful to sit out there each morning & evening & enjoy the sounds of the mountain. The property feels nice & secluded. Plenty of privacy.
Now, some of the things that could have gone better...but are not deal-breakers.
We arrived for our one-week stay late on a Saturday night. When we arrived, the house had not been cleaned after the previous guest had departed. We were not happy. BUT Rob was extremely helpful & had the cleaning company there within 15 minutes. They did a great job, & had us all taken care of quickly.
The property does not have bear-proof garbage containers...& the mountain has a healthy population of garbage-educated bears. This means that you cannot put trash out of the house unless you know when the trash is collected or driven to the local dump (no info provided on this for our stay). The consequence was a HUGE mess of trash spread all over. Rob did come & clean it up, but it could have been avoided with bear-proof trash cans.
Overall, we had a great stay & found management very responsive.

Beech Mountain Cabin
The inside cabin was clean and in greqt condition. The grill does not work. Outside trash bins need to be repaired so bears do not get in to trash. Overall great rental.

Nice mountain vacation
Really enjoyed our stay here and very relaxing place. Each morning and evening greeted by a family of deer right outside as well so kids loved that. All amenities are well stocked. All was great except had some dead bugs upstairs and in the bathroom but I believe this was the first rental after the restrictions were lifted so has been vacant.

Perfect
I brought my family of 4 for a 3-day snowboarding weekend to Beech Mountain. The listing was exactly as advertised and super close to the mountain and restaurants etc. We would definitely stay here again and recommend this listing to anyone. The owner is very responsive and helpful.

Cozy family cabin
This little cabin was perfect for our family of four. My two daughters (5 and 8) stayed upstairs and slept in the bunkbed. I did have one small issue with the bunkbed and that was the horrible squeaking that happened anytime you moved. This was slightly annoying during the night as I could hear every move my kids made in the bed. My daughters LOVED having their own space upstairs (bathroom included) and called it their castle. The rest of the cabin is very cozy. If you are looking for tons of space, this cabin is not for you. It was perfect for us though. Very clean and had all the necessities. We used the firepit outside and made some great family memories. The gas fireplace was not operational during our stay due to their being an issue with the gas turning off and on. The owner shut the gas off for safety reasons and was waiting for the gas company to correct this. The owner was very responsive and immediately responded when we contacted him. Very kind person!
I read many other reviews about this cabin and everyone talked about the wildlife coming right up to the cabin. The second we arrived we saw an entire family of deer RIGHT next to us. This continued all of the days during our stay. It was awesome! The deck of this cabin wraps around half of the cabin, however it does not cover the back of the cabin. The views you will get are from the side entrance of the home. You can still see all of the gorgeous mountain views, but they are not directly off the back of the cabin and are sideways.
Overall our stay was amazing and we look forward to future visits.

This sweet cabin was lovely to stay in; we enjoyed the location, which is a short walk to a hiking trail, and we enjoyed Beech Mountain as a whole!

Loved this home!
Couldn't have been more pleased with this property for our mountain stay. It is an adorable cabin tucked away high on Beech Mountain with everything you need for an easy, restful stay. The kitchen was so well thought out and provided dishes, glasses, cooking utensils, pots, pans, measuring cup, spices, toaster, microwave, dish washer, flatware, paper towels and napkins, and all so plentiful and easy to find. The den has two full size couches for plenty of seating and it was great having the master bedroom downstairs with a full bath and a spacious room upstairs with bunk beds and a futon for my 12 and 14 year old children, along with their own full size bathroom. They also have lots of board games available which provided great and unexpected entertainment for our whole family. Even with high 70's and an 80 degree day during our stay, the open windows and ceiling fans provided a very comfortable, cool house with the temperature inside never rising above 75 during the warmest part of the day. The porch was wonderful for deer watching and we enjoyed a beautiful trail that is accessible right from the house. Beech Mountain has lots of restaurant options and we loved heading down the mountain to Banner Elk for other conveniences. There is a Food Lion and Lowes grocery store in Banner Elk. The cabin is quiet and although there are houses nearby, the trees provide great privacy. Overall, we couldn't have been happier with our stay. Rob was always available and quickly answered any questions I had. He made everything so simple. Would definitely stay there again!

Nice cabin with everything you need
Great stay. Very close to the slopes we actually had to take a shuttle from the overflow parking that was further then our cabin due to the parking lot being full. Cabin had everything we needed and then some with iinternet, sleds, and fire TV. The deer came to the yard several times. Small cozy cabin overall great stay.

My husband and I visited this cabin for our 2 year wedding anniversary and it was perfect. The fireplace is beautiful and great to sit by after a long day of hiking. The cabin is also very close to many beautiful places. We went to Linville Caverns, Grandfather Mountain and the blue ridge parkway. They were all in reasonable driving distance from the cabin and the local views make any drive worth it :)
The owners were very quick to answer any questions we had and the cabin was so clean! I could go on and on about this place but you should stay here and see for your self. :)

We had too leave Florida due to the hurricane that hit us. We called many places on the way up. Than we found this very nice well cleaned and very adorable place in the mountains. Called beech mountain. The town was so cute and the people where very friendly. We went to Fred's and grocery and place to eat it was like a hallmark movie. Most of all the owner Dennis is the nicest and most understanding person. We will for sure be back again and stay in this cabin.

This house is in a great location, just minutes out from Beech Mountain town center. Was spotless when we arrived; and well supplied and equipped. We were there mid-July during a "heat wave" and house was cool and comfortable all day, and bordered on chilly at night. It was great sleeping with the windows open. Our two older children loved sleeping in the upstairs bunk beds. Very close to a moderate hiking trail that ascends to the Overlook. Deer on and around the property thrilled the kids!
We will definitely seek to stay at this property again!

Had a wonderful time staying at Dennis Den! Internet access was great so I could get some work done in the evenings. Easy drive to the slopes! Definitely visiting again!
