The Georgia "Rocky River Lodge" (and her sister "Riverstone Lodge (VRBO #324274") is your dream cabin that is large enough to accommodate large groups that gives you the rustic cabin feel with all the features you would have at home! Located directly on the river we have all the amenities including canoes, kayaks and tubes that are provided for your enjoyment along with a basket ball court, volleyball court, horse shoes and for a memorable vacation in the North Georgia Mountains near the quaint town of Ellijay.
Our upscale cabin is located in the beautiful gated river community of Coosawattee River Resort situated directly on the Coosawattee River.

Myself and a large group of friends visited the Rocky River Cabin in June of 2024 and had an absolute blast. The property was beautiful and had so many things to do. The pictures truly don’t do it justice. The surrounding area is beautiful and clean. Would definitely stay at this Cabin again and highly recommend it for anyone wanting a fun and relaxing time in the mountains of North Georgia!

We had a wonderful time here! The basketball court, volleyball net, ping pong table and foosball kept the kids busy. The house was close enough to Ellijay's cute little town with great restaurants. We loved seeing all the deer around!

The cabin is great and has a lot of good things about it. Tons of activities and a hot tub that was very clean when we got there. Rules were easy to follow and had a great view of the River. We would come back to this next time we do a mountain trip.

Rocky River was perfect for our bridal party to stay in the weekend of our wedding! There was plenty of space, plenty of things to do on the property alone, and had a gorgeous view right on the river! Sarah & Ian were very helpful and responsive!

We came for a long weekend retreat and enjoyed the location on the river!
The property is in need of several repairs/updates. The kitchen had not been wiped down and there was significant dust accumulation in the upstairs bedroom. The basement shower curtain liner was moldy. There were also several items of clothing left out in the yard.
We wanted to vacuum at one point, but neither of the vacuums was in working order. The crock pot was missing a side clip so we had to use a hair band to attach it in order to cook supper one night.
None of these things prevented us from enjoying the visit, and if it weren’t for the steep driveway it would be ideal. The drive way is terrifying.

The property is ok we always stay in properties near the river but this house is the worst we stayed at , to spend 400+ per night and find the house filthy, dirty , a lot of spider webs , dust that you can clearly see is from months of not cleaning properly. The pillow covers with stains, food on the couches, on the floor, and the list go on.... but the worst was one of the bed has the sheet cover with a big whole and they try to fix it by putting a BLACK TAPE!!!! I sent all the pictures to the owner and she only said i will talk to my housekeepers.... but yes i spent $2,800+ and i even had to go buy my own pillows and covers so dissapointed specially because i see its been mentioned before and thought everything was fixed but not.... i think owners dont care and she didnt even offer for part of the money back or simply send housekeeping nothing. I will never reccomend this place. Unfortunatly vrbo doesnt give an option to download the pictures otherwise i would of done it

We brought our youth group on a retreat and the house was great for us! Plenty of space, we loved the River and hot tub! Volleyball and basketball were a hit with the kids! The kitchen was perfect to set up a food bar during meals! We really enjoyed our time in the mountains!!

Overall we were very pleased with our stay. On the day we checked in I was a little early and had the opportunity to meet Mr. Hamilton. Ian is an amazing person and gave me a personal tour of his property and even told me about some of the outdoor activities that were near by. My wife and children had an amazing time and we look forward to visiting again.

I was able to easily find it with apple maps despite concerns from checkin instructions. Personally didn't find getting there, or steep driveway others complained about to be an issue, nor did the 7 other drivers in my party.
Place was clean and comfortable with great instructions and check in procedure documentation.
The place is optimized for large groups, so the fact it only comes with one set of toilet paper roll and paper towl cheapens the experience for what was otherwise a greatly configured rental property.
Overall, my group had a great time and would recommend.

We were able to check in early as the cabin was not rented the day before. Over all, the cabin was nice. Plenty of dinner table room for our family. Evenings were spent in the living room area by the wood burning fire place. Unfortunately, we underestimated the cold and didn’t have enough fire wood delivered which ended up costing us way more in wood than if we just ordered more. Plenty of sleeping options and tons of cooking utensils and apparatus in the kitchen.
All in all, we had a good time. We happened to be there during one of the coldest Christmas’ in YEARS so the weather definitely complicated a few things but Ian was extremely helpful and easy to reach. BTW, if you want to be somewhere with zero cell service to get away from it all, this is the place. High speed internet worked very well though so you have options.
My ONLY recommendation is that anyone that is considering renting in the winter where the possibility of snow or ice is likely, BE CAREFUL as the drive way down is steep. We had no issues with our 4x4 vehicles BUT two wheel drives will be a little nerve racking.

Awesome time at this cabin lodge, or how we like to describe it: a log home! We came with our old college group of friends and enjoyed the spacious and warm home. There was plenty of room to house our group, along with having a bed for our group. It's right next to a river and it is so peaceful to hear the river in the mornings and nights.
The interior was beautifully decorated. We were pleasantly surprised to see the Christmas decorations when we entered the lodge. The kitchen was as described and had a few seasonings for options, and SO many pots and pans.
The outdoor space was HUGE. Perfect for field day-like activities or general sports, like throwing a frisbee, using the basketball hoop, as well as the volleyball court. All the amenities were nice (i.e. high speed internet, hot tub, canoe, fire pit, TV, washer & dryer).
The owners are also very friendly and responsive to any questions we had ahead of time. Absolute great time and great for a weekend getaway with a larger group.

We very much enjoyed our stay. The bedrooms on three floors allowed separation and privacy with the extended family but we had all the space we needed for our time together. Seems miles away from anywhere but only minutes from the Apple Festival 🍎, and anything else we needed.
Highly recommend getting groceries on the way in...you won't want to leave!

Overall we all had a great time staying on this property. My only issues were that their requirement was for us to clean the dishes and wash the towels, but we were not provided with laundry detergent or dish soap. We had to go out to the store and purchase our own cleaning supplies to fulfill the cleaning requirements of the property.

My family and I stayed at Rocky River with two other families that we have vacationed with annually for the past 6 years. This location was my favorite trip so far.
The kayacks, and tubes provided with the location provided hours of entertainment for everyone. The Basketball court was a big hit as well. The space inside provided ample room for everyone and the long table in the main room allowed us all to eat together.
The steepness of the driveway was frightening to me at first, but we all had no trouble navigating up and down with ease (even in the rain), once the initial shock wore off.
It was perfect for our larger group with lots of children.

We had a blast! It felt like a hidden gem, but it was conveniently located for easy access to grocery stores and activities. The lodge is private and beautiful and offers everything needed to have a true North Georgia mountain experience. My family and I a blast!!

Family Vacation
The cabin was very nice inside. The outside could use a good cleaning. Family was scared of the steep driveway which made unpacking harder since they wouldn't drive down to the cabin.
The river location and water access was great. The water toys and sports toys could use upgrade. Overall the experience was great. Everyone had a good time.

Worth the money
We enjoyed the lodge and the location right on the river. The place needs a deep cleaning especially the covered porches/balconies. The stove needs some work as the handles appear to be partially stripped. One was difficult to turn off the igniter so we quit using that burner. A new washer had already been ordered. Hosts were very accommodating, quick to respond and friendly. Yes, I would stay here again because the price was right

Youth summer camp
Ian and Sarah are just fabulous to work with. This is the second time we have stayed in this cabin and it’s perfect. The location and amenities are everything you would hope for when taking a mountain trip. We went for our annual summer youth camp and the kids had an absolute blast. They were never bored! We will be back again!
