Our family loved staying in this excellent house, right on the main walking street in Amboise. The house is charming and comfortably appointed with everything our family needed. The private courtyard is perfect for morning coffee and evening dinner. We could easily walk to shopping, restaurants, the Chateaux, Da Vinci house (Clos Luce), and Loire river where there is a great walking/biking path and we rented bikes. We especially liked that our whole family could go to dinner and since the house was so close to everything the kids could leave early and walk home. Susan the Host is wonderful and very responsive. Highly recommend!

This house is very clean, super cute and in a perfect location. You are able to walk to all of the different activities within Amboise. We had plenty of room for our family of four and loved having the convenience of the washer and dryer. The property owner was extremely responsive and easy to work with. We would love to return some day and stay again!

The property is in a great location and well presented, but do have a couple of suggestions:
- two fans for 4 bedrooms is not adequate, it was 37C during our stay and very uncomfortable.
- no sheets and only a doona make it even worse without fans
- noisy with garbage collection at 4am three times per week
a shower curtain would assist in the main bathroom as there is no way to stop water spilling onto the floor and there is no floor drain so we had to continually mop up the floor to keep it dry and stop slip hazard

This historic home is simply beautiful and its remodel was exceptionally well executed. Loved the large rooms, clean hard surface floors, patio, and spacious dining room area! Susan was great and a very kind and communicative host. Thank you!!
Our only (very minor) suggestions would be to (1) disable automatic hall lights, which awaken everyone and impede a good night’s sleep; (2) provide more bed pillows; (3) provide hand towels for bathrooms.
We really look forward to our return to this lovely property!
Thank you!

We were schedule to stay at the property beginning May 24. On May 9, my father was taken to the ICU with Bacterial Meningitis and placed on a breathing tube. My parents were coming on this trip with us and we were very much looking forward to it. We of course could no longer travel with my father as he was in critical condition for the next few weeks. I explained the situation to the host and she said she was sorry about our situation but we would still owe the full amount. I understand there is a cancellation policy however we were stilled charged the full amount including the cleaning fee as well as an “additional guest fee” (we didn’t stay there so these should have been discounted). We fully expected to pay a cancellation fee but charging for additional guests and a cleaning fee seems ridiculous when the place was vacant.

What a lovely home for a family or large group traveling together. We were a group of six. My husband and I plus two adult daughters and spouses.
There was plenty of space and a full bath on each of the bedroom floors.
Kitchen and dining room were well stocked and we enjoyed multiple meals in the house as well as several in local restaurants.
We had trouble finding any activity or restaurant we desired in Amboise much more than ten minutes WALK away. Near-by parking was a breeze, once we figured it out, in complimentary parking. Our biggest complaint was we should have stayed longer. We find we have lots more on our list to see and I would base here again in a heartbeat..I hope for an extended stay when we return!
Thank you Susan;)

We loved our stay here. The house was very clean, comfortable, and well furnished. Really appreciated the washer and dryer! The owner and managers were quick to respond to our questions. Very helpful. Rue Nationale is a pedestrian street during the day and is very quiet. It is walking distance to the Amboise castle, restaurants, bakeries, and little shops. DaVincis house is also walking distance (bit of a hike for us!) and was our favorite historical site. Loved Amboise!

This is a beautiful home, clean and had everything we needed. Communication with Susan and Greg was excellent. They gave us some recommendations for dining and we found these recommendations to be our favourite restaurants, off the main roads but close to the rental..superb! We would never have found these. A great stay in the heart of Amboise.

This house is central to anything you need and the castle.

The property was as advertised. It is a lovely home in a fantastic location. Amboise is a terrific base for exploring the Loire Valley. Very centrally located and thus convenient for exploring all the famous chateaus. The home is perfectly situated in Amboise with easy and close access to restaurants, bakeries, and, of course, the local chateau. We had a wonderful stay.

Ideal location in town. House is a perfect example of what a vacation house should be. It is not fancy, but it had everything we need. Simple layout -- kitchen, living room and office space on ground floor, two BRs and laundry on first floor, and two BR on second floor. We all were delighted and strongly recommend this property.

Our family had the most wonderful time. The property was in the perfect location and across from a lovely bakery. We were able to spend evenings with the family and play games.
The host was very responsive. We had a wonderful time. Thank you

The property is a lovely antique townhome on a bustling street in the old section of Amboise. It is a short walk to the Chateau Amboise and just a bit longer to Chateau Clos Lucé. There are mouth watering boulangeries and other small shops just steps from the door. It's located about ten minute's walk from the Amboise market.
There is a well-equipped kitchen, clean rooms and bathrooms, a large dining table and a lovely, small backyard.
Parking is a bit tricky on the street, but there is ample parking about 150 meters away in a public spot where the meters are off from 18:30 until 0900.
We would certainly book again on any return to beautiful Amboise. Thanks!

We loved this place. Breakfast and afternoon family time every day in the courtyard. The place was beautifully decorated and inviting. The location was perfect and even in the heart of Amboise, very quiet. Fans are also provided for the evening or two that was a tad warm for sleeping. We loved this place!

The property was perfect for four couples, though be mindful that all bedrooms require climbing stairs, with 2 on second flour and 2 on the third.
The house was nicely appointed and the kitchen was well equipped. We cooked several meals in the house and didn't want for any appliances or utensils. There was no drip coffee maker, but the french press was perfect for us. We loved that the house had a separate washer and dryer, both of which worked well.
We enjoyed sitting in the back patio/courtyard area in the evenings ... especially when we could hear jazz coming from one of the area establishments.
Bathrooms: It was nice to have a water closet on the ground floor. Be aware that there is one shower in the 3rd floor bathroom that all who want to shower will have to share. There is a handheld showerhead installed in the 2nd floor bathtub, but it is lower and there is no shower curtain. Both full bathrooms had double sinks, which was nice. There was one hair dryer between the two full bathrooms.
Location: We felt Amboise was more quaint and slower paced than neighboring Tours and Blois. Access was easy and the arrangement worked well for four couples coming and going, sometimes together/ sometimes not. It's a full 20 minute walk to the train station, but the Max Earnst bus station is a very short walk and the bus ride to/from the train station is about 4 minutes. From there, it's a quick 8 minute train ride to Tours for easy access to the rest of the Loire River Valley. It's also an easy walk to: a market, pharmacies, bike rental, tourism center, shops and restaurants galore, and attractions (Chateau d'Amboise, Château du Clos Lucé).
Susan was great about communicating in advance, quickly answering whatever questions we had. There were also local property managers that responded quickly to a question we had.
Would definitely recommend!

A newly refurbished property in the heart of Amboise. Situated on the main street running through the town. The recently refurbished property was clean and spacious. We had a fantastic stay and would definitely recommend to others.

We had a marvelous stay at Susan’s apartment in Amboise. Fantastic location with patisserie, restaurants, shopping, and historical sites within easy walking distance. Susan and Gilles were readily available to help answer questions. Very comfortable home and nice enclosed patio. Would definitely stay there again.

We really enjoyed our stay in Amboise, with the property being clean, well presented and communication with Susan brilliant. The property was well located to all things and we loved being able to stroll down the street in the morning to the local bakeries for fresh croissants. Would definitely come & stay again.
