About this house rental

"Jaybirds" is a three bedroom, two bath single family home on one level with a king in the master, one queen bed and one double. Jaybird's is located in the country on the 275 acre Abbott Valley Homestead and is sited in a secluded area amidst swaying tamarack, birch and aspen. A fully equipped kitchen, dining area and master bedroom open out onto a lovely patio with a BBQ and dining area which is great for outdoor morning coffee and evening meals. A fire pit is perfect for relaxing and listening to the trees sway in the breeze and later for stargazing. There is a swing set and easy access to North Abbott Creek which is a paradise for nature lovers. Jaybird's was recently remodeled. While it retains the original knotty pine and charm, it is equipped with all the modern amenities and conveniences for your comfort.

Main reason for a 4 star is due to the mattresses. They tend to sink in the middle. Everything else was fine.

The house worked well for our group of four people. The kitchen was stocked very well for meal prep with plenty of pots, pans, dishes… for us. The property was about 10 minute drive to the main Apgar entrance to GNP. We had a good impression of the property and location.

The house is back a gravel road surrounded by trees and nature. There are other houses around but it still feels as though you are secluded. The house was perfect for our family of four and the kids enjoyed the swings and rope outside. Glacier National Park is not far at all from the house and easy to get to. Doyle was an amazing host and would absolutely stay in the house again!

Very nicely updated property in the woods. Lovely flowers. Well equipped kitchen. Fire pit and gas bbq. Great lighting inside. Easy access to Glacier National Park (but it was so crowded there). 4 y.o. grandson loved the swing!

They stay here was fantastic!! We had a great time and enjoy taking walks around the area and swinging on the swings in the yard. The proximity to Glacier National Parks West Entrance was great and we truly enjoyed our time there. The host, Doyle, was great and extremely helpful. Thank you for making our trip of a lifetime complete!!

Jaybirds was a great place for our family. It was close to Glacier and other sights. The house had everything we needed and then some. It was obvious that the owners went out of their way to have everything one would need: the kitchen was stocked with everything we needed to cook, there were extra towels, blankets and pillows amd much more! We enjoyed exploring the property - the kids loved playing in the creek- and staying in rural Montana! We would highly recommend!

The cabin was super clean and comfortable and in a terrific location for accessing West Glacier. The surrounding area was quiet and beautiful. I would definitely recommend this cabin for visits to Glacier.

We enjoyed our stay. All was in order, clean, attractive, comfortable and quiet. Our host was responsive and easy to get in touch with. We appreciated the full kitchen, the washer and dryer and plenty of hot water! It is an easy distance to the entry of Glacier N.P. Thank you!

We had a little hiccup in the beginning just because I didn’t receive an email about how to access the property but when I inquired about it, Doyle responded quickly. The house is very nicely set up with all the amenities you need. We did have problems with the TV but we were on vacation in a beautiful place so we decided to enjoy nature instead of the TV. The beds we’re comfortable and the home was very clean.

We stayed at Jaybirds cabin for a 6 day trip to Glacier National Park. The house was perfect for our family of 4 with college age kids. Clean, quiet and well appointed- within 20 minutes of the West entrance. We loved hanging out at the back patio table and listening to the birds. Very happy and would stay here again when we return.

This property suited our party of 6 perfectly. Close to West Glacier and also the town of Columbia Falls nearby for groceries and restaurants. The property was very clean and although we didn’t spend a ton of time there, when we did we really enjoyed the patio area. We could hear neighbors every now and then but never encountered anyone; property felt secluded.

Beautiful, peaceful and private. This was ideal for our week in Glacier National Park. It was perfect as a hub to come home to after spending each day in the park. Only about 15 minutes from the park entrance. I had read reviews that the beds were comfy, and I have to say they were SUPER comfortable, a real bonus. We enjoyed this property so much we will be planning a family reunion there in the near future. The owners of the property of so accommodating and helpful. Thank you for everything!

We had a perfect stay, easy check-in, great communication. The house is very clean and has a great atmosphere. Garden is beautiful, colibris flying around you when dining outside. Great access to Glacier NP!

We stayed for a couple of nights, in order to be close to the west entrance (it’s about 15 mins away). The house was great and is situated on a beautiful homestead that our toddler liked exploring. There’s a fire pit and outdoor seating, to enjoy those summer nights as well. We also found the beds super comfortable and would definitely stay here again when coming up with family!

Less than 10 minute drive to GNP (one of the closest accommodations coming from the west we saw). Easy access to highway 2. We had everything we needed; stayed for one week with three kids, two adults. Beds were super comfy after long days of hiking. Host was great, checked in with us shortly after our arrival to make sure we had everything we needed. Highly recommend this property, would stay here again. If this place is booked; check out other properties within the Abbott Valley Homestead. It's absolutely gorgeous and plenty of privacy. Plenty of room for kids to run around and play.

We very much enjoyed our stay at Jaybird's. The location was perfect, rural and private with great outdoor spaces. The home was also close to Glacier, so that at the end of a long day, it did not take long to reach our accommodations. Inside, there was enough space to spread out, yet gather together when we ate. It was great to have 2 bathrooms and a large kitchen. The beds were comfortable. We enjoyed the fire pit. The grandkids liked the swing set and open space to through balls around. A few things that might make the stay even more perfect would-be air conditioning as we had really warm/humid conditions during our time in NW Montana. A few games/puzzles would have been utilized. Perhaps a screen to stream video to so multiple people could watch (in our case the track and field world championships) would be nice. And in the kitchen, more ice cube trays, an instant read thermometer and some covered microwave dishes. Thanks for being available to answer questions and provide a few items that were missing. We also appreciated that the home was clean and ready for our group.
