The house is beautiful, located in a lovely neighborhood.
It has everything you need for the pool, cooking, games, everything. And Jean checked in on us and made sure we had everything we needed.
I highly recommend booking this place!

The home was great and the owner was very accommodating.

Used this base to regroup on our driving tour of California, jusr as we expected

The house has everything you could ever need. Bath supplies, cooking supplies, bedding, etc. I should have brought much less.
The house is set up like a U-shape around the pool. This is perfect for two families as one family has one side with a bathroom and bedroom, the other family can have the other side of the U with two bedrooms and a bathroom. The living room is in the middle.
The kids took over the living room and the adults enjoyed the beautiful backyard overlooking the pool for most of the time.
Universal was 1 hour away and Disney was 40 minutes with traffic.
Jean checked in on us multiple times. Everything was absolutely perfect.
I recommend this VRBO to everyone!

Worked out perfectly.

The property is wonderful. Well kept, attractive and a fully loaded kitchen. Which is great as we like to cook. The backyard and pool were perfect. The kids loved playing in the water while the adults enjoyed the shaded patio. Beds were comfortable, rooms good sized. It was a lovely place to celebrate with a small group of people. Eugenie was a great host - quick to respond and accommodating. I would absolutely stay there again and recommend the place to anyone.

Staying at this property was such a wonderful experience. The host, Jean, answered all my questions promptly and provided recommendations for the area around the home. We would definitely stay again and recommend to others! Thanks again Jean!

We definitely enjoyed our visit on the property. The pictures doesn't do this place justice. All questions answered in a timely manner. I would definitely book again for my next Cali trip.

We had a very nice stay at this property. Everything was very clean and the property was as described. One thing that was not clear was that there is a single room attached to the house, which was rented to people we weren’t with. The house and this room share the pool area, so it was a bit close. There’s also a lot of stuff in the house… we thought it was things people had left behind from other stays until we came across a prescription bottle from 2004. I’d recommend bringing extension cords for charging devices in the bedrooms (two prong). The bedrooms were very dark at night. Great walking area. The host was very nice and responsive.

The house is super cute and the neighborhood is lovely. Communication was easy and prompt. We wish we stayed longer!

As the title states, the stay was simple and we very much enjoyed our time. The pictures provided are accurate, Jean is very quick to respond, and the house had anything you could possibly need. The travel time to the airport and port of call were minimal. I would stay again!!

We were on a convention in LA and used this place to stay. Im so happy with our stay. From the old style home to the wonderful community. There's a lot to offer. Please do yourself a favor and look into resting here. You wont be disappointed at all

This is a spotless house with great retro look, it’s everything you could want in a home base. Within walking distance to restaurants and shops, the house also stocks more amenities than you will ever need! Jean is a wonderful warm host who made us feel right at home, she’s very knowledgeable about Long Beach and has all kinds of recommendations for dining, entertainment , etc. The backyard feels very private and is a lovely sanctuary with sparkling pool. We definitely recommend!

Family funeral gathering with family members traveling from Australia and New Zealand. With all of our different tastes, everyone agreed that this was a charming, good vibes only, type of house with clean lines and quaint pieces that highlighted its midcentury architecture. Loved learning the history of the home and the host was simply lovely. Wish the weather cooperated in order to enjoy the pool but we plan on returning in the summer.

Owner was super detailed with everything regarding the stay. House was spotless! We wanted to stay off the beaten path of downtown LA. This house was in a great location. Not too far from LA, Disneyland and other cool attractions on the coast. Very close to shopping, restaurants, bars and grocery stores. Came out with the family from Chicago to see Elton’s final concert in the U.S. at Dodger Stadium and spent a week in the LA area for a much needed vacation. This house was a great home base for our family… great memories made here. Would definitely come back.

My family and I were in town for my grandsons’ combined birthday party and we enjoyed our stay at Bixby Beauty, lots of room, inside & out! We definitely will check availability for our next visit!

Stayed at this lovely home because it was close to the Rancho Los Cerritos where my daughter got married. It’s a wonderful mid century home decorated with period furniture that is very comfortable and fun and provided a great space to visit with family and out of town guests before the wedding. The kitchen is well equipped and the beds are comfortable. The pool area that would be nice during the summer but too cold for Nov. There’s laundry available which was great since we were there for a week.
Although we didn’t meet Jean, she responded quickly to my messages and questions. My daughter accidentally locked her wedding dress is the bedroom and was freaking out. My panicked message to Jean was quickly responded to with where the key would be found so crises was averted.
It’s a great neighborhood and close to many restaurants and grocery store aren’t far. I can highly recommend this property and would stay again in a heartbeat. Thank you Jean for offering such a special property for our stay.

Admittedly we have many people we love in and around Long Beach. We hosted an
intimate gathering of 12-15 folks. The Cartagena St location, amenities and 'at home' atmosphere complimented our soiree that allowed all who attended a wonderful time and all who didn't a regret they will not repeat. Thanx to Gene and her crew, we're prepared to reserve again for next year.

The property was just as described. Great space inside with a private pool and garden like space in the back. Quiet, pleasant neighborhood close to our daughter’s home. Jean was a fabulous host, responsive to all or needs, truly wanting us to enjoy her property. Would have loved a heated pool, but new that going in. The granny suite was particularly useful for my daughter and her family to have privacy. All the amenities you would ever need. Jean was very generous to us. Thanks so much for all you did to make our stay comfortable.

Great Location
This property is in a nice, quiet neighborhood. It was so convenient to restaurants and a short drive to the beach. It only took us 35 minutes to get to and from the Burbank airport. It took about an hour to drive to Universal. We also drove to San Diego. It could be less than an hour and a half drive depending on the time of day.
There needs and pillows were so comfortable that I slept like a baby.
Jean was so nice and even checked in via messages.
I highly recommend this property!!!

Home away from Home
This property was such a gem. We felt right at home! Everything that you could possibly need was there. We stayed for 5 nights and actually had movie night and home made dinner a couple nights. The beds were comfortable and the rooms were very spacious. Washer and dryer was very nice to have access to. The pool is beautiful and private. Communication with Jean was very prompt, she is a lovely lady. The location of neighborhood was very clean and close to grocery stores and walking distance to several local restaurants. I would definitely stay here again. Thanks Jean!

My family and I recently stayed at this property for a few days. The location is in a nice and safe neighborhood. The house has everything you could ever think of needing. The pool was so refreshing and much needed due to the indoor temperature of the house. When we arrived we tried to turn the thermostat down but to our surprise the host controlled it from an app on her phone. This was disappointing. We were told that she would turn it down which she did but the house remained a steady 84 degrees and it was set at 65. When reaching out to her we were told the thermostat must not be working and she has a technician scheduled to arrive the day we were leaving. She suggested we open up all the windows at night. It helped but never got below 76 in the house our entire stay. Eugenie has offered to make it right with a partial refund but have yet to receive it. Hoping it was fixed for the next people to enjoy.

Beautiful
This house was amazing! We were there for my son’s wedding! The over 70 crowd stayed at this house! It was perfect! Everything was accessible! It was clean and in an amazing neighborhood! The house is beautiful! The owner, Jean, was extremely kind! Everyone had a great time in the house!

Our second stay at this distinctive property
This is the second time we have rented Jeans place. So obviously we like it. It was designed by a locally notable architect and provides a distinct kind of California living experience. The house is very warm although the pool is cold!

My friends and I were looking for a space to relax and enjoy each other’s company while being close to Long Beach. This place hit all the marks. It was easy to get in and check out was simple. We loved the space, the backyard is amazing and has everything you need to be comfortable. We were able to walk to bars and restaurants and is quiet. The only thing is there is a granny flat and the entrance is in the backyard. Our group didn’t mind and they did not bother us at all. Just think it’s a good thing to call out.

We had a lovely time at the Bixby Beauty! The house had many special touches throughout. The kitchen was well stocked with anything you would need. The bedrooms were charming with comfortable beds. Even though it was chilly, the kids couldn't resist swimming in the pool. We look forward to returning.

Host was wonderful.
We were on the go most of the time so we didn't spend a lot of time at the house. Pool is nice but like the review said not warm yet--we even had wet suits. I'm sure it's amazing once it's warmer.
Beds are firm if that's what you like.

Awesome experience!
The property is very nice & beautiful. Very accommodating and I can’t stress enough how attentive and nice the property manager, Jean, is. She accommodated us at every turn we made and I definitely will be back! Thanks again, Jean!

Real LA Living in comfort and distinction
We stayed five nights - a 92 year old on her first trip since pandemic, her niece and nephew, and a 10 year old boy. It was fabulous - a very convenient location in a quiet neighborhood. The house is very spacious with a layout that is classic mid-century modern - so it felt as if you were living in the 1960s. The pool is beautiful, and our 92 y.o. went swimming every day. No worries about parking, which is plentiful. Beds are all great and there's plenty of towels. We did a lot of cooking in the kitchen which is very well equipped. The house is also very airy - we didn't need the air conditioner during our stay, although there is also central a/c.

There were five of us ranging from 14 to 75 years old and everyone had a great time at Jean's place. The pool was a big hit as was lounging on the back patio. The house was a gem and stocked with everything we needed. One of the best rental experiences I've ever had. Thanks so much, Jean.

We were in desperate need of a vacation but didn’t feel safe traveling far with a 6 month old, so we made the quick drive down from LA for a week at this amazing house! The decor was so quirky and fun in the mid-century modern style, but the house is totally up to date with Roku TVs, air conditioning, etc. It was just what we needed… everything was spotless and the kitchen and bathrooms were totally stocked with everything you could possibly need (and an awesome fancy coffee maker as a bonus!). The pool was great and the beds were so comfortable. The location is perfect … easy to walk to stores and restaurants, though we mostly ordered in for COVID safety and there were lots of great local choices. Jean was very easy to reach when we had some confusion with the keys. We would definitely come back!
