North Slope Historic District
Our neighborhood is known as the North Slope and is part of the National Historic Register. 24 hours a day you will find people walking, jogging and walking their dogs. The North Slope is filled with incredible 100 year old houses, giant trees and ocean views. No two houses are the same. Some of the best historic homes in Tacoma are here, most were built before 1930.
Bing Crosby was born two block from the condo at 1112 N. J Street, Tacoma.
The Large Mansion next door to the condo is the William Ross Rust House, built in 1905 for William Ross Rust, then President of the Tacoma Smelter and Refining Company.
A few minutes by car or a short walk and you are in the Stadium District or Old Town. Slightly further and you are in the Proctor District or on 6th Ave. Hip Strip, slightly further and you are downtown, or at Point Defiance.
-------------------------------------------
Old Town
Old Town was the original Tacoma. Founded 1865, Old Town's historic streets and beautiful water views make it one of Tacoma's special neighborhoods. Old Town offers coffee shops. neighborhood restaurants and the Ruston Way waterfront walk. Old town is a 3 min drive or 17 min walk from the condo. Note that the hill down to Old Town must be walked back up and it is somewhat steep.
-------------------------------------------
Stadium District
Stadium is a perfect mix of everything that makes Tacoma wonderful. From the iconic Stadium High School to the beautiful old historic homes, tree lined streets, parks, restaurants, coffee shops, and a bustling business district with a grocery store (Stadium Thriftway). The Stadium District is a 4 min drive or 15 min walk from the condo.
-------------------------------------------
Proctor District
The Proctor District's charming storefronts and quaint older homes remind me of a small town movie set from 1950. The nearby University of Puget Sound serves as a hub of events and shows. Proctor has several restaurants, coffee shops, two supermarkets (the Metropolitan Market and a Safeway), a library, post office, bowling alley, and the historic Blue Mouse movie theater dating from 1923. The Proctor Farmer's Market takes place every Sat from mid March to mid Dec. The Proctor District is a 5 min drive or 26 min walk from the condo.
-------------------------------------------
6th Avenue
6th Ave is funky, artsy and a little grungy. A favorite hangout for nearby University of Puget Sound students for both studying and letting loose. Cool shops, day spas, boutiques, coffee shops, salons, restaurants, bars, and live music. 6th Ave is the historic dividing line between North Tacoma & Central Tacoma. Homes on both the north and south sides of the 6 ave are similar, but the price of homes on the south side of 6th ave are considerably more affordable. 6th Ave is at a crossroads between neighborhoods. 6th Ave Farmers Market that takes place every Tuesday in the spring and summer. 6th Ave. is a 5 min drive or 25 min walk from the condo.
The address is 1006 N. Yakima Ave., Tacoma, WA (Condo #3).
The side streets around the building are 100-year-old cobblestone and very bumpy. Please drive slowly!
There is a front parking lot and a rear parking lot. Park in the front parking lot. Use any space. Ignore the Tow-away signs.
Walk up the stairs on the right side of the building. Turn left and walk straight. Pass Condo 1 and 2 and then you will see Condo 3.

Great place to stay in Tacoma.
We've stayed in two different units and have had a wonderful time in both.
The units are very clean and comfortable.
The kitchen works well and the views of Puget Sound, especially early in the mornings, from the balcony on unit 10 are marvelous. The decor is pleasing and the Klimt prints add an elegant touch to the ambience.
The owner/manager is efficient, quick to respond to questions and very pleasant to work with.
Highly recommended!

GREAT STAY!
Came into town for a concert at the Tacoma Dome. Looked on VRBO for a place that would be close. I know very little about Tacoma so I very much appreciated the summary of this property. This place is in a great part of Tacoma. It not only was close to the Tacoma Dome but it also has great trees, views of the water and cool cobblestone street. Inside the condo was clean, cozy, well equipped with all of the things you need for a great stay. Dealing with Ron was effortless and actually pleasant. The price was very fair. I Would recommend to anyone, and will be back. Enjoy

This condo is clean, quiet, attractive and comfortable. We would love to come again.
We found the condo to be very inviting and comfortable for our stay. We loved how it is nestled in an historic neighborhood with amazing old homes all around it. We wished we had had more time to just walk around and look at each one. The beds were comfortable, the kitchen had all we needed and the owner was very responsive. We would recommend this place to others and would love to come back for a longer stay. And if it had been warmer we would have enjoyed the balcony....maybe next time..

Wonderful Property
This property was just as pictured in the ad. The neighborhood was nice and the peek a boo view of the waterfront was very enjoyable. We really appreciated how well stocked the condo was. There was plenty of laundry soap, shampoo, conditioner, dish soap, toilet paper, paper towels, and coffee for our stay. It made traveling from the East Coast so much easier. We will definitely try to stay at this property again the next time we visit Tacoma.

Great location!
Great stay at the Lanai as usual. This is the 3rd or 4th time I have stayed in one of Ron's places. All good, clean, well stocked, addressed a wifi issue quickly. Love the location to visit our son at UPS. My only request is to allow shorter stays and we would be back each and every visit!

Great place to stay.
We were in Tacoma for Parent's Day weekend at the University of Puget Sound.
Very convenient location for the school and the waterfront as well assay drives to coffee places and the Metropolitan Market - a good place to buy provisions or have a meal.
Comfortable mattresses, and a good place to go in the evening after the day's activities.
Enjoyed it very much.
Will definitely stay there again when we return.
