About this house rental
Enjoy your island getaway at this newly re-finished home on the highest point of Great Guana Cay in the Bahama Islands. The property is located right by the exclusive 'Baker's Bay'. Great Guana Cay uses names as addresses and ours is called "Pirate's Place". The whole 2-story light colored home with brown porch can be rented for $1050 a night (includes Value Added Tax or 'VAT'). Each floor has a separate, outdoor entrance. There is a five night minimum stay and a $500 refundable deposit (assuming no damages). The balcony on the second floor has great views of the Sea of Abaco and Atlantic Ocean. You may see seaplanes land and drop off island visitors on the Sea of Abaco side.
Although you can explore most of the island on foot, you can also rent a boat to explore other islands. In addition to reserving a boat, you can also rent a golf cart (the island’s main source of transportation - highly recommended), or go on a snorkel/scuba trip by stopping at the local dive shop, Dive Guana (located by the island's main ferry dock).
Bring your snorkel, fins, and mask so you can explore off the reef located on the island's Atlantic side after a short cart ride down to the beach.
Amenities include: a kitchen complete with refrigerator, microwave, stove, and sink, televisions in all rooms, and internet.
There are restaurants and multiple bars on the island for when you want to get to know the locals. A small grocery store is located on this island for any needs you might have, or for having a night in after your day of exploring.
Upon booking, we ask that you let us know the time of your arrival so we can have our key keeper meet you at the dock and take you to the house. We recommend that you check the local ferry schedule prior to booking your flight to ensure that you get to spend as much time on the island as possible.
There is a filtration system for the water and a water system for using rain water. Please remember it is a island with limited fresh water sources, so please CONSERVE the water. There is also a generator in case the power on the island goes out.
Although we hope you enjoy your stay with us, we ask that you please respect the property and refrain from smoking.
*Please exercise caution on the deck and do not leave any children unattended on the deck. By agreeing to rent our space you are agreeing to release us from all liability, indemnify, and hold us harmless from any actions for personal liability or theft of personal property.

This property was sadly misrepresented in a number of ways. I recommend staying elsewhere on the island for a similar price. We were forced to check out after night one of a five night stay and checked into a different property. Here are just a handful of the issues:
The house is clearly in poor shape with everything in beaten up condition
The “grills” are unrecognizable pieces of metal stands in the “backyard”
The “yard” has little grass / lots of gravel
It’s a dangerous property built on a steep sloping hill with no outdoor lights. Be careful!
There are not tvs in the rooms as advertised
The downstairs rooms have a strong smell of mold/smoke/water damage
The power at the house goes out repeatedly
I could go on and on. For $1k+ a night, rest assured that you are far better off looking elsewhere.

We came for a week to dive. Nine of us, and mixture of singles and couples. When we arrived we stopped at the grocery store in marsh harbor and brought about $800 worth of groceries with us. Not bad for nine people. We had dinner out one night and the bill came to that much for one night. We like to cook so the rest of the meals We're pretty much at the house. It's a great venue for group. Large dining room table that fit all of us easily. The main room has the kitchen sitting area and dining room. Plenty of seating for all of us to hang out and have a great time . The power on the island went out a couple times and the generator for the house worked great. It was well stocked with plenty of kitchen necessities to supply the entire group. Dive shop and boat or a short golf cart ride away as well as nippers and grabbers for drinks and fun. Air conditioning worked great. The Internet and Wi-Fi went up and down a bit and they brought out a new router, I'm sure some of that had to do with the island service as well. Which I had a great time and much of it had to do with the house in terms of being able to interact as a large group comfortably. I would recommend it and I would go back
