Loved the peacefulness of the location; well appointed cabin with everything needed for the stay; attentive owner checked in with us and offered to be available as needed. Only suggestion: amenities listed coin op washer & dryer - clarify that nearest is 7 miles away.

Peaceful place to stay - but close to Acadia and the Bold Coast. The cabin is great and the host is incredibly helpful.

Paradise to me is a beautiful water view from a shady forest, and when combined with comfortable clean lodgings and plenty of room for the pup to run around, Milam Camp was better than I could have hoped for. Greg’s hospitality was great, and the camp was very well stocked with dishes, pots, and pans for an easy stay. We tried the row boat and kayak, swam in the pond, and took little day trips around to the sights. A wonderful stay!

Peaceful and beautiful setting— loons, eagles, ducks- oh my! Cabin is excellent — clean, well-equipped kitchen, grill, fire pit, kayak, life vests, plenty of Adirondack chairs, even WiFi. The view is incredible- bring binoculars! We loved our stay and would definitely rent here again.

We loved our stay at Camp Milam. The property was well appointed, comfortable, and charming. We enjoyed swimming in the lake daily, relaxing on the hammock or front porch, and eating s’mores around the campfire. Perfect place to get away from the hustle and bustle of daily life!

Once again our stay was amazing! Such a perfect place to get away and relax with nature. We had several Eagle sightings while enjoying sunsets on the dock and a great display of fireworks on the 4th. The Milan camp never disappoints!

It was a nice spot right by the lake. I wish we could have stayed longer. Well situated for familes or couples wanting to get away from it all. Quiet and secluded.

The home was exactly as described. Peaceful, quiet and a perfect setting for my outdoorsy family. Our boys (13 & 15) took the John boat out at least 3-4 times per day and caught no less than 10 fish each time out.
The ride into Bar Harbor and Acadia was easy and only about 45 minutes from the house. The recommended nearby restaurants were great. The house had everything we needed, beds were comfortable and there was access to Wi-Fi.
We would stay again and recommend it to anyone who loves the outdoors.

This was our fifth year at Camp Milam, and it just gets better. We enjoyed it all - swimming, kayaking, sitting on the porch and reading, cooking in the well-supplied kitchen. I can't say enough about what a wonderful place this is.

We had a great stay! The cabin was just as we remembered it and had everything we needed. It’s perfectly located for a trip to Bar Harbor or Acadia, but a short drive later, you can be back at the water’s edge, enjoying a glass of wine and listening to the loons. My teens loved getting out on the pond. Thank you Greg for sharing your wonderful cabin with us.

Once again the Milan camp was an amazing place to spend an entire week! This was our second stay which will likely become a yearly favorite. The camp is perfectly located, nestled in the woods just feet from a beautiful pond. Such a great place to unwind and enjoy the surrounding nature. During our visit we saw several loons and a Bald Eagle on a couple occasions. Within an hours drive you can visit Acadia National Park and Bar Harbor as well as many other attractions. Two big thumbs up for this camp!!!

Great vacation property! Owners were so friendly and went out of their way to accommodate us. Kayaking was great on the serene lake, the lunes were fun to listen to and the fall colors were stunning. Enjoyed the rustic cabin, furnished very well with all needed. The fire pit and hammock also got. good rating from us!

What a perfect VRBO experience! This rental will allow you the opportunity to spend time on a beautiful, serene and peaceful property. The Milam cabin is cozy, clean, and well furnished with just about anything you could need. The host, Greg, is incredibly accommodating and available at any time for questions or concerns. The hosts truly go out of their way to make your stay extra special- from the delicious treats that await, to the well maintained property, the recommendations of places to eat and visit, and the very helpful notes around the house. The cabin itself feels so comfortable to be in, in every way. The lake is beautiful and serene—our dog loved it here as much as we did. Our only regret is that we weren’t able to stay longer! This was the perfect place to experience some peace and solitude and reconnect to whatever or whomever it may be that you wish to. A wonderful VRBO find!

If you like a quiet and serene setting, this is the place for you. We enjoyed kayaking on the pond in the day and watching the sunset in the evening. One afternoon I startled two ducks that were napping on the dock. One flew off to the water but the other just looked my way and then continued to snooze. A few minutes later the mate rejoined on the dock and slept as well. I sat within 6 feet of them and witnessed their duck naps up close. We especially appreciate that our dog got to be with us for a memorable 2 weeks. Also, in terms of creature comforts: the bed was super comfortable and the shower had ample hot water.

We wanted something quiet and off the beaten path from Acadia National Park and Bar Harbor, and this was perfect! The cottage was clean and comfy! Beds were super comfy, and the porch rockers were where we spent a lot of time soaking up the sounds of moose and loons while we relaxed watching the lake. The house had everything we needed, from kitchen supplies to camp wood waiting for us when we arrived. We highly recommend it, and hope to return sometime!

My husband and I have done a couple VRBO’s, and this place is, by far, the best place we have stayed! It was clean (it even smelled good!), the location is beautiful, and the owners are wonderful people! The master bedroom bed was very comfortable and I loved the skylight above the bed. I really cannot think of anything that we didn’t like about the house and property. It was hard to leave and I wish I was back there!

There are not enough superlatives for this property. We have stayed here several times and plan to come next year because it is so perfect. The cabin itself is beautiful and comfortable and very well-supplied. The property around it is a beautiful example of the Maine lake country that we love so much - pines and birches, a lovely slope to the lake, a dock perfect for launching boats and swimmers and for watching the sunset. Chairs are in all the right places - at the lake, by the fire pit, on the porch where us older adults sit and read and gaze at the lakeThe hosts are incredibly welcoming and helpful. You'll come in to a welcoming, clean house and a supply of s'mores making!

The Milan cabin is rustic but has all you need. Very comfortable beds and pillows. Comfortable chairs. Fans for the heat. Various places to sit outside and take in the lake. The lake is super to swim in. We were very thankful to be there.

A true family vacation!
This cozy camp has everything you need to create some truly magical memories. The area is so quiet that our family was by far the loudest thing for miles. Any of the outdoor seats are the perfect place to start your day. The water might be smooth as glass or the breeze might be creating gentle waves that produce a peaceful rhythm against the shore. Walk down to the dock and you can go fishing while seeing the eagles and ospreys. The water is very clean and you can see small mouth bass and schools of white perch right from the dock. We were also regularly visited by a mama American Black Duck and her babies. Take the kayak around the island in the pond and you'll see even more great wildlife. The yard and private road were perfect for our kids to do a lot of biking and they loved having an encounter with a very grouchy crayfish. The camp is central to a lot of attractions, beautiful scenery as well as great local food. Everyone talks about the lobster in Maine but the crab seems to be a well kept secret. When you're ready to cook in, the cabin is well equipped with plenty of utensils, cookware and a Weber grill. There are also some really good places nearby to get great local produce, meats and seafood.Gather around the firepit at night and listen to the loons while you roast marshmallows and enjoy a glass of wine or mead from a local vineyard. All of these amenities are all made better by the hosts, The Milams. They really made sure we felt at home and their vast knowledge of the area is priceless. They made this the perfect choice for our family vacation.

The Milam Camp is the perfect place to unwind and enjoy nature!
I stayed here for the week with my family, and we had the most amazing time! The Milams are excellent hosts! The camp is beautiful, cozy, clean, and surpassed our expectations. It is the perfect, peaceful place to enjoy nature, unwind and unplug for a little while. The camp has excellent wifi, a tv, and games in case there’s inclement weather.
We had lots of fun fishing (my son caught his first freshwater fish, a large White Perch), we went swimming, and we spent time relaxing outside, and enjoyed the campfire. We also spent some time at Acadia, which wasn’t too far.
As a hobbyist wildlife photographer, this camp was a goldmine. I enjoyed my morning coffee outside by the water every morning, and I waited for the Ospreys, Eagles, Loons, and other beautiful wildlife to come around so I could photograph them. We were often visited by a friendly female American Black Duck and her ducklings. I even had a Hummingbird flying around me on multiple occasions! At night, we would hear the Loons singing and calling to each other.
We were sad to have to leave, but we are thrilled with the time we spent at the camp and with the memories we made there. So, bring your bug spray (this is in a wooded area, on the water in Maine, after all), get your fishing license, and go have a relaxing time at the Milam Camp!

This is a great camp in very peaceful location. The weather was perfect during our stay and the camp had everything that someone could need. We were also treated to a great fireworks display that we watched right from the dock! Looking forward to staying again!

Maine Vacation
The Milam's cabin on the lake is a very peaceful and relaxing place to spend a week. The cabin is close enough to places like Schoodic Point and Bar Harbor to take day trips. The fishing on the lake was great. We caught plenty of bass and white perch. We would return again.

Pictures and descriptions will not do Milam Camp justice. The cabin is perfect and stocked with everything you could possibly need, and even stuff you won't! The property is secluded and private, but a short drive to big attractions. The host was THE BEST I have ever worked with, went well above and beyond with the check in process and along the way! Our only regret was leaving... next year we will be shooting for a two week stay!

Little piece of heaven!
This is a wonderful property to unwind, relax and enjoy nature’s beauty. The camp is very comfortable and clean and has everything you need in a well equipped kitchen, internet, comfortable beds, great outdoor living with fire pit, hammock, even a kayak and boat! Well located to visit sites both north and south in beautiful Maine. The owners have thought of everything and are great hosts. We would stay here again, most definitely!

Greg and Donna are amazing!
If I could give 10 stars for the hosts I would. Greg went above and beyond to make sure we were happy and had everything we needed. Their place is like a little oasis, and it felt like we had the water all to ourselves! Loved how peaceful it was, and our dogs hated us for making them leave. There were some real gems to eat around the area - be sure to read the notebook from previous guest for great recommendations!
We loved our stay and cant wait to return to Maine!

Country/cabin/lake experience that's close to Acadia
We enjoyed the quiet lake cabin after we hiked all day at Acadia. The house is stocked well with all the necessary supplies plus the fire pit and kayak are good additions. The loons were cool to see on the lake. We loved the property and would definitely come back again!
