You will not find a better spot on the Island!
I have been coming to Barbados for over 20 years. When we are too many to fit with family, the Bellehaven is always our first choice. You cannot find a better place to stay. Picture listening to the waves as you drift off to sleep. And if you want AC which is a big plus in the summer especially, each bedroom is amazingly cool! Sit on the porch have your breakfast and stroll down to the beach at your leisure. It is so nice not to have to make going to the beach a huge all day activity, having to pack everything and hope not to forget the sunscreen or your favorite book. When you live across the street, you can grab a beach chair (there are many provided) and head down to the beach with little else than a towel and a book. Run up to the house for lunch/snack/nap and come right back. Rinse off with an outdoor shower and you don’t need to pack many clothes to come on vacation because you have access to washer and huge clothes line. Hopefully you can disconnect but if not, the WIFI is excellent. Plenty of towels at your disposal, full kitchen, lots of paperbacks to chose from and did I mention the beach across the street? Look no further, this is the place to stay!

The property is fine and roomy with vintage/retro furniture unchanged for years. The bathroom could do with updating, as could the kitchen. But the feel of an established family home is still evident. Big garden with a tortoise and green monkeys, plus terraces back and front to escape the heat. The beach is 40 feet away and lovely except for an unexpected influx of sargassum seaweed which made swimming unpleasant. The big local event is Oistins Fish Fry on Friday night which was fun. You can walk there and try fresh fish with music and dancing. But arrive by 6.30 or you will be in for a big wait. Our hosts and the maid were helpful and charming. Highly recommended but hire a car to explore the island. It is small but public transport would be challenging. You could walk to food stalls and the fish market, but a car would be good for a supermarket. Our only big downside was having to pay the bulk of the rent in cash on arrival which meant we had to travel with large amounts of cash - an uncomfortable experience in this day and age and not something I have encountered when renting other HomeAway properties.

A good position opposite Miami Beach and helpful and welcoming hosts. Old fashioned but charming

We loved this house so much the first time that we rented it again, and fell in love all over again. The house is spectacular and I really can't say enough positive things about it. Truly, there are no negatives. It's exactly what you want in a vacation home away from home. Don't doubt me, just book the house...you won't be disappointed!

First, let me say that while we were staying here, we had several people stop us on the street in front of the house to ask about it. Oistins is a nice town that gives you a feel for what it might be like to live in Barbados while also having amenities for tourists. The house is situated on a very large lot, set back from the street, with a lovely view of the beach from the front porch, living room, and front bedroom. We fell asleep to the sounds of waves crashing every night. It is very comfortable, with good cross-breezes and a/c units in the bedrooms (which we only used for the room where our baby slept, since he sleeps better in a cool room). The furnishings are very tasteful and the house is pleasingly decorated and immaculately maintained. The linens are good quality and there are abundant towels. Everyone we dealt with, from the owner to the rental agent to the cleaning women to the man who met us at the airport, was helpful and polite. As we were leaving, we were told that they were replacing the perfectly adequate refrigerator with a newer one and adding a dishwasher. The location is terrific: just across the street from a beach with medium sized waves, lots of shade, and a good snack shack where you can get a flying fish sandwich and a rum drink, and a short stroll up to a cove where the waves are calmer, perfect for kids. It is an easy walk to the Fish Fry stalls in Oistins, a short walk to a small market, and a slightly longer walk to the Super Centre market. Buses are nearby and plentiful, but you can also rent a well-maintained older car from the owner for a reasonable rate (he even let us drive it to the airport and leave it in the lot when we left). The airport is close by (the low-flying planes are cool to see, but it can be loud intermittently). The island is small, so good for exploring. We saw the west coast and the interior on our outings, as well as Bridgetown and the more touristy towns between Bridgetown and Oistins. We loved our stay, and hope to rent Belle Haven again.

We have been to Barbados several times, but for this trip we needed a house that would double as a "home" since we were spending Christmas/New Years on the island with family & close friends. We chose Bellehaven because of its perfect location...on the beach! We knew it would be a great home, but we had no idea that we would fall in love with it. Everything about the house is wonderful... it's charming, beautifully furnished with antiques, has an outdoor shower, grill, washing machine, and a porch where we spent many evenings eating dinner & enjoying cocktails watching the sun set over the sea.
Enterprise Beach is just across the road so we were able to head to the beach whenever we wanted to...the sand is soft, the water unbelievably turquoise and warm, and there are even tables if you wish to have a picnic. It's a great beach for families with children because it's guarded. There's also a calm lagoon adjacent to it for those who like very calm water.
Oistins is a mere 5 minutes away via car and has everything you need...supermarket, fish market, drug store, etc etc etc.
I highly recommend this house ... in fact, we're booking it again!!!
