This property was exactly what we needed the views where awesome the water was beautiful we all had a great time! The washing machine was broken I just wish they would of told us before our arrival!!
They had an outside light that came on automatically which was nice for lighting the area, but not so nice when sitting by the fire (too bright) also you need to emphasize all bedrooms are upstairs and there are a lot of stairs to the property especially if your elderly.
It was a great place!!!!

The Cottage, as they call it was awesome. Location was great, plenty of room and the only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is because the shower area was pretty tiny. That pretty much the way it is on lakefront cottages, other than that the place was great

My favorite part about staying at this lakefront cabin is enjoying the outdoor space. There is so much outdoor seating in both the sun and shade. There is a large patio with tables to eat at or sit by the fire at night. The balcony has great views of the sunrise and is a fantastic place to watch the activity on the lake. There is a new dock and a great swimming area. Inside the cabin they had plenty of room for everyone to sleep. Overall, we felt this is a great cabin to stay at to enjoy the lake.

I love this property. It has just the right amount of sun and shade. The improvements to the dock helped a lot this year, we were able to leave our boat right there. My family and I really needed this time together. This property could definitely be better with AC for those hot nights….but the weather is so unpredictable…..

Couldn’t get in at check in time. Cleaners were still there. Check in was suppose to be 4pm but we did t get in until 4:45. We asked about the trash barrels all full and cleaner was suppose to call owners. I texted owners on Tuesday with no reply. Trash piled up and animals got to it. Trash was picked up by company on Wednesday. Old ground hamburg left in fridge. Plate of cheese, pepperoni and crackers left on top of fridge we found on Saturday night. Toilets were disgusting. We rented last year and cleanliness was better. Will not stay here again.

We had a great week at the house. It was as advertised and plenty of room for our family. It was close enough to get where we needed but far enough to feel away

Fantastic family vacation
Location and outside space cannot be matched! The cabin is dated, but definitely the kind of place you don't mind having children in!

Loved the stay but had minor problems
We had a great time with family at the house. The views were amazing and the water area was clean of any muck so that was a plus and we all had a ball. The only downfalls were there is no AC so we all just had to use a ton of fans and some nights were very muggy. Something was wrong with the water pressure in the sink which made it almost impossible to do dishes because it just dribbled out. I contacted the owner and came out yhe next morning to fix it but by that afternoon it was just dribbling out again. The washing machine was not working but they had a note on it saying someone would be out to fix it but they couldn’t get anyone til after our stay. There was a major bee problem outside and we had to spray a lot and a couple people did get stung but we did speak with the cleaning woman the next morning and she had never seen that happen there before so it may have been a new nest or something. Overall it was a great vacation! The family had a blast in the water day and night and the sunroom was a great place for everyone to hang out and play games and do Kareoke etc.

Family reunion
We enjoyed the location and water access. We had trouble with the kitchen faucet and the microwave. I gave the cleanliness a 3 but there were quite a few cobwebs around the house. All in all we enjoyed our stay, the house has a lot of character.

The house was fine. The weather wasn't great for the week but Gloria had plenty of kids toys to keep the little ones occupied. Overall, it was a good week.

Nice house for a family gathering
Beautiful location and the house was accurately described. The dock and sandy beach area was very nice for our Grandchildren. The enclosed porch was used a lot and the Living room is very spacious.

Just what I was looking for
I wanted a place right on the water with some privacy and this place was perfect. There was plenty of outdoor seating. The master bedroom/deck was great. The lake was perfect for boating. If you have access to a boat or kayak (I didn't) you should definitely bring it.

Living with other people’s stuff
Some rentals are just that and aren’t lived in. Ray and Gloria’s place is well loved and has been lived in for years. So, you are vacationing in a house with a lot of personal accoutrements. The location is the best. The sandy bottom where the younger ones could touch bottom helped the mothers relax more. Bring water toys. We had a great time.

We had a wonderful time at this beautiful lake house, the location was perfect and it was exactly what our family needed in the trying times. We had the pleasure of meeting Gloria and her grandson and they were very warm and accommodating, the house was not only beautiful it was very clean and comfortable. Great views and location on Lake, but this has a "camp" feel
The property is located in a very nice spot on the lake and the views are amazing. Out door space is comfortable and relaxing. The owners were responsive to questions and very nice to deal with.
However there were a few things that need to noted on the listing description and made known. The master bedroom is not private, it is below the "loft". The access is separate, but it is an open concept. My wife an I ended up using the only "private" bedroom which is very small.
Also, it would have been nice to know that they are building a new house next door. They owner was very courteous, but there is nothing you can do about hammering and air compressors during the day. We realize that is part of life and it wasn't horrible, but it definitely affects the atmosphere.
Overall, the rental was more of a "camp" feel and the price should be comparable.
It is a wooded property and bugs/spider webs/ants are plentiful. That is just nature, but I can be a turn off for many people.
Owners should consider a professional service for the turn overs. Everyone's standards on "clean" are different, but it should definitely be improved to avoid negative reviews.
We have rented on the lake for the past 6 years, so I feel like we have a good sense of what to expect. The house was way too cramped for the "sleeps 12" category and price.
Trying not to be overly negative, this is probably a great fit for many families. I think we had different expectations, based on price and bedrooms.

Great time at the lake
The house had an eclectic charm that I very much enjoyed. There were so many interesting treasures throughout the property.
The property is three levels so there is a fair amount of stairs to take into consideration.
The outside spaces were fantastic. We had a party of 10 and there were plenty of room for outdoor eating, lounging and reading by the lake. There is a Chiminea for evening fires and smores that the family really enjoyed.
The dock is very new and made getting in and out of the water easy for all. The lake itself was beautiful, clear with a sandy entry and swimming area.
Another big plus for this property is how close to so many great activities and resources. Hiking trails, mountains, lakes, Weirs Beach, Fun Spot as well as plenty of shopping.
The family had a wonderful 2 weeks on the lake together.

Dirty,Outdated,Small,Clutter!
The place is very small, very outdated built in 1903. It’s not very clean, dust, cob webs, dead flies, moths everywhere. There is so much clutter with the property owners junk. It looks like they don’t rent this place often.
There are 3 TVs and only one barely works, many of the electrical outlets don’t work and the WiFi is terrible. There is much stuff everywhere that you don’t have much room to unpack.
The bathrooms and shower are disgusting, the hand soap they had was watered down.
There are carpets everywhere that haven’t been cleaned in a while and they smell badly, there are outdoor matts everywhere inside.
The outdoor chiminera has a huge whole in the bottom of it, the outdoor furniture is dirty full of cob webs and cluttered.
There is construction going on next door with escavators working from 7am to 3pm
My wife spent the first day we were there cleaning the place. We checked out 4 days early because it was so uncomfortable and we couldn’t relax.
Not a great experience at all, when contacting the owners they absolutely did nothing for us
Save your money and time there are many great properties out there available
THIS IS DEFINITELY NOT ONE OF THEM!!

Family get together
The waterfront home was a beautiful location and we spent a lot of time in the water-----swimming and kayaking.
The house had a lot of seating all around the outside of the house and inside and we had a wonderful time,
Unfortunately there were leaks in the roof when it rained. The leaks were in the two bedrooms (the queen and the king).
Hopefully both of the mattress on the sofa beds will be replaced.

Great spot for a week of lake life!
The house is located on a wonderful section of Winnisquam and the dock was great for the boat we rented and all our water activities.
House met all of our needs and we would certainly return. Ray and Gloria were very responsive to our questions.

Owners were super nice. Home was clean and well kept. Outside has so many sitting areas to view
Tucked away from the craziness of life but close enough to fun and shopping. Lake is beautiful. Home is well kept.

Comfortable beds, great view, sandy bottom swim area a plus. Many seating options in and out.
We enjoyed a relaxing week at this cottage, spending most of our time on the glassed in porch looking out over the lake. Washer and dryer helped us pack light. Our boat had to be kept on the swim side of the dock to avoid the rocks, which made the swim area tight, but we made the best of it. Winnesquam lake is a good kayaking spot, so plan to bring some. The kitchen although small, had everything, even an electric tea kettle! Fairly close to shopping, so no problem. Lots of wildlife, including daily otter swim by. Our visiting toddler had a difficult time with the sloping lawn and extra decor inside and out, but the 5 year old was just fine. Surprisingly, very few mosquitoes. There are plenty of ceiling and floor fans to use, so we were comfortable sleeping.

Wonderful place for family and memories
This house is BEAUTIFUL! While we did not utilize the deck off the master bedroom this week, having been awakened by our two grandsons each day, we used all the other areas. This house has relaxing places for everyone. Shady on the patio, sunny on the small deck, chairs out front watching the kids in the water, and a campfire in the wood burner with marshmallows! Breakfast on the porch, dinners on the patio. The enclosed sun porch is perfect as a place for little ones to keep toys and entertain themselves when not outside. The kitchen while small was really only used to cook in and kept "too many cooks" out of the way. The living room has plenty of very comfortable seating. And the abundant ceiling fans kept the room temps very nice. The 3rd floor bedroom was just right for the two boys and a friend visiting on a sleepover. If you are with other adults, but in for first dibs on the master bedroom! The swimming area is just the right size for small children with a short ladder for entering the water. We put the boat (20' pontoon) on the end of the dock due to the rocks and not wanting to lose the swim area. It was used multiple times every day, with tubes, floating things, ball playing and looking for fishies. On Sunday morning we were in the water by 8am. The washer and dryer were a MAJOR hit. With 2 little ones, our son & daughter in law were able to bring half the clothing. Our son Mike (the chief cook for the week) reports the kitchen was very well equipped. Whether it is the peacefulness of the Loon sanctuary in the far north, the open water of a 165' deep lake for tubing or skiing, the partying at the sandbar, the quiet south end of the lake, or Ahern State Park with an excellent beach for little kids (and for snorkeling) almost directly across the lake from the house, Lake Winnisquam has it all. This house is a great place to bring your family and make memories that will last a lifetime.
