We have stayed at this location for 2 years and our family loves it. Mrs. Brewer is a great host. Thank you for having us.

This place is well suited for families, very close to everything, is super cute decoratively, with a fishing theme, is visually appealing and had an easy check-in. It is close to 431, with traffic and traffic noise to contend with. Very quiet in the house though. It wasn’t a problem for us.

This place was clean and so pretty. So much to do just at the cabin, we will definitely stay there again! Thank you Mary

I can't say enough. Mary was responsive and is one of the best hosts I have stayed with. I have stayed at several different VRBOs over the past two years and this one by far is handled with an 'at home' feeling. Bottled waters/ soda, Amish bread all there to welcome us in after a day of travel. Felt like we were staying with friends/family. The book that gives you not only the rules but the history of the place/land and places you will not want to miss was such a wonderful touch. We all agree that the place listed as didn't want to miss was definitely the place we didn't want to miss. Rock House Eatery. We all felt .Our trip was for us 3 girls to spend quality time remembering old times, making new memories and to enjoy some homemade apple pie(by my friend's husband)that we went far too long without! The games available is a wonderful touch. Wood for the fire pit including smore's ingredients. I wish more VRBOs were like Mary's! We all wanted to be a part of the history there so I even sent Mary a picture of us in front of the property. Maybe a wall of stayers or a memory book of guests will be a new thing to start. Thank you Mary for being who you are and making our stay one of the best yet! We will be back! -Katie

Had a smell bachelor party weekend for my brother. Couldn’t be happier with the property or location. We had the best time relaxing by the fire instead of bar hopping in Huntsville. 10/10

This is a great location for the Guntersville area. It is a bit loud with it being on a busy highway, but the service was fantastic.

We needed just some relaxation and family time away from all the craziness. Lakeshore Cabin was perfect. Mary was amazing, she made sure we had the lights on since we were coming in late. The fresh Amish bread was fabulous as was the homemade chocolate chip cookies her and a sweet young lady brought by during our stay. We enjoyed the trails surrounding the property. The bathrooms were very nice and well furnished. It was a charming place. Mary has a book put together that give you tips and info about the area that was very informative. We hope to come back again and do more exploring and some fishing.

Mary was our host. I can’t speak enough about her, her son, and surrounding families hospitality. PERFECT location if you’re a fisherman like me to get out on the lake. Boat ramp is literally at the end of the long driveway. Thanks Mary!

This is my second stay at Mary’s piece of heaven. From the hummingbirds to chipmunks … this is the perfect spot. The serenity of watching the sunset over the lake is breathtaking. We really enjoyed all the beautiful wood decor. Mary is a Super Hostess… her homemade bread is always a nice touch. My only problem with this piece of paradise, I hate to leave! However, we will be back.

The cabin is beautiful! I love all the different wood incorporated. It' very easy to find. The garden is absolutely gorgeous. My husband did notice a slopping to the yard around the firepit where the lounge chairs are located. He felt off balance. We didn't realize we wouldn't have the cabin to ourselves. You can occasionally hear the above occupants. I would recommend hanging a sheet or something over the glass door that leads upstairs for better privacy of all occupants. My biggest issue was there was no dishwasher. Hand washing dishes on vacation isn't my idea of a vacation. There's no stove or stove top. A single burner is provided along with a microwave. The kitchen sink is very small and often resulted in water splashing out over the countertop. There's a piece of wood being used as a shelf over the kitchen counter/sink area. It holds some nice nic nacs, but this limits counter space. Also my husband hit his head on this shelf. There's a cool looking cabinet below the counter, but it has several small compartments about 10 or so which leaves you searching for items. I would recommend a kitchen overhaul. The master bathtub was underwhelming. I just barely fit in there at 5'3. The stone work outside the house & decor in the bathrooms is breathtaking. My husband especially enjoyed the walk in shower. The master bedroom bed needs to be replaced soon. It dips down where you lay. I planned to sleep in the middle of the bed, but it's a split king. The master has no dresser or chest of drawer. I would recommend removing the futon instead to make room for a place to store your clothes. Ample closet space is provided for hanging any clothes. Thank you for the delicious amish friendship bread. Even though I'm on a gluten free diet I couldn't resist eating it once I saw it had cinnamon in it. The sodas & chips are a nice touch my husband enjoyed, but it was torture for me to resist. A bag of barbeque lays chips and the amish bread I ate killed my stomach. The couches are a little outdated, but still functional and comfortable. I enjoyed the unique furniture. The porch area is comfortable with a good view of the garden. During August you can see the lake hardly at all. Also there's a lot of road noise. My husband tried to play horse shoes, but an overgrown tree obstructed the throwing area. We appreciated the pre-stocked fire pit. We weren't able to lit it the first night, but planned to lit it the 2nd. It rained though.

Let me start off by saying this property is just absolutely incredible! The property owner really has takin the time to make sure her guest comfort and experience is above all else, there isn’t a single thing that I could think of for the property owner to change to even slightly improve the experience because it truly is perfect. The location is amazing and the character of the property is unmatched. I have stayed in a ton of properties through out the country and this is by far the best overall property I’ve stayed at. The little details of the house are so incredibly charming. The outdoor area is 1000% made for relaxing and having a great time with your friends and family there are a ton of board game and activity options for members of all ages. The property owner has gone above and beyond to make sure you have everything you need and much much more. I highly recommend staying here, it is definitely worth the money.

What a wonderful stay. Mary is a most gracious and friendly hostess. The cabin has the most wonderful front porch where you can watch the birds, butterflies and see the lake across the highway. The way the property is landscaped gives it a great feeling of a "private camp with a cabin". The history of the land made it even better. Everything in the home worked well and it was clean as a whistle. Our daughter was at Space Camp and Guntersville was an excellent location for the parents to relax and site-see for a week. We would definitely stay here again and would recommend this place to everyone. Thank you, Mary.

I misread the description of the property and communication with Mary was great. She was very helpful. We enjoyed the stay after MY misunderstanding. The bread is amazing. Thanks for a better than expected stay!!

Darling apartment
Mary was great and had perfect communication. I wish her home had better views of the lake, but her home was exactly as she described. I could have lived on her cozy porch for months. Her yard is gorgeous and seriously could be enjoyed for its own sake. it was a terrific trip. No complaints.
