About this cottage rental
A beautiful cottage nestled in the hills of Franklin, NC and the Nantahala National Forest, the road to our stone cottage is an easy drive and offers a quiet retreat where you can sit outside and enjoy a variety of birds including hummingbirds and red cardinals. We are are also conveniently located near all essential stores, restaurants, the Smoky Mountain Performing Arts Center, the Factory (family fun), a movie theatre, and is just 3 miles from downtown Franklin where you can stroll down Main Street and visit the wonderful shops. Our rustic cottage is unique with artistic stonework throughout, use of reclaimed barnwood, stone shower, clawfoot tub, and a modern kitchen. You will love this sweet cottage!
We have a bedroom on each floor, each with a queen bed. There is also an upstairs loft with a desk. An air mattress is provided for the loft area. Sleeps a total of 5-6. The downstairs bathroom has a one-of-kind vanity and vintage clawfoot tub and the upstairs bathroom has a one-of-a-kind stone shower, vanity & mirror. All towels and linens provided, including a hair dryer and magnifying mirror.
There are LED TVs with satellite TV in the living room and each bedroom. WiFi is also provided.
The wonderful kitchen has all necessary appliances - stove, microwave, refrigerator, dishwasher. A toaster oven, coffee maker, all dishes, silverware, and cooking utensils are also provided.

Love this place! I recommend getting there when it's light because the road it's on is a bit hard to do in the dark, the driveway is steep But they do have a parking spot at the top and you can walk down the drive way if you aren't comfortable backing down it all the way.its a very quiet little street and surrounded by trees.The inside is beautiful with wood furniture and fun decor. You can tell it's a really well taken care of place and loved. The 2 rooms are big, decent beds with TVs in both rooms,massive closets And both have window units for a/c. The bathrooms are big. Tub is awesome and the shower is done with stone and very easy to adjust the shower head height. The kitchen honestly surprised me with how much they had in it as far as appliances, cups, plates ext. Living rooms couch was super comfy too.
The hosts are very communicative and respond fast!
My kids LOVED this place. I mean didn't wanna leave. For this price, the location, and the cottage itself. 10000% will stay here again.

We had an excellent stay at stone cottage retreat. We have stayed in numerous VRBO properties over the past 14 or so years, and this is by far the most well stocked one we’ve stayed in. When they say they have everything you need, they literally do! I brought things with us because I was accustomed to having to do so for the other properties we’ve stayed at before, who would have the basics, but usually be missing some things I needed. I didn’t need anything here, including the cooking spray I brought. I did bring my own crockpot and no clue if they have one; I used mine bc I know how it cooks. Communication with the owners was excellent and I knew exactly how to get in touch if we had an issue, which we didn’t. The cabin is very comfortable, the beds were very comfortable, everything was very clean, and we couldn’t have been more pleased. It’s easy to get to and convenient to travel to other areas! We definitely plan to book stone cottage retreat again.

Cute, rustic place tucked away in the mountains. We really enjoyed the fireplace during the cooler nights. Not far from stores and restaurants it was a quick drive for anything we needed. Hosts were receptive and we would definitely recommend to anyone looking for a place to stay in the area.

No one could sleep in the room downstairs due to a dehumidifier going on and off with no door to block the noise. The TV upstairs didn't work. I wish there had been a heater upstairs because I didn't feel good about leaving the gas fireplace on all night.

Everything was wonderful...only being that time of year, the trees were losing their nuts and dropping very loudly onto the metal roof of the carport! We almost made it a drinking game!

We were drawn to the unique features of this place. The hosts were responsive and the kitchen was nicely stocked for cooking our own meals. If someone is very sensitive to smells, I’d advise you not to stay as their is an overall musty smell despite the dehumidifier running. But if you love staying places that have special features that make your stay memorable, pick this place!

Nice cabin . Had everything we needed. Window AC units are only in the bedrooms, this was the only down side. The bedrooms, living room and kitchen got warm during the day.

Property was easy to find, close to Franklin but secluded from noise pollution. Cabin was well decorated, clean and in overall excellent condition. Would stay here again!

We spent Thanksgiving week at this charming cottage and really enjoyed the experience. Great place to unwind while maintaining connections to the internet and broadcast TV. Our hosts were very responsive and accommodating to our special requests. The home was clean and comfortable, well stocked, and met all of our needs. Would definitely stay again.

We loved our time at the Stone cottage! It was a perfect mountain get away! Sharalea was so responsive and helpful with any questions! It is a perfect distance to town and Only a short drive from many other destinations (hikes, waterfalls, and the Highlands!)

Tranquility and close to what ever you want. So thankful for this cottage. Great for the fall colors and Franklin is an interesting place to discover. Your host is the best, anything you might need they are there quickly

This cabin/cottage is exactly as it appears in the listing. The homeowners are very reachable and helpful and also provide you with every bit of information you could need to make the process of check in and out an ease. They have information for areas to visit and suggestions for things to do in the area, provide information about the local grocery stores and even give restaurant suggestions! They provide the necessities like soap, toilet paper and paper towels, cleaning supplies, dish soap, and even clothes washing detergent! They really have attempted to make everything as easy as possible! There is a charcoal grill on site, fully equipped kitchen, outdoor table, and a fire pit area. You can also sit in the swing and enjoy hearing the birds and wildlife. There are lots of feeders on site and they provide bird seed for them so if you enjoy birds, it’s a watchers paradise! The beds are very comfortable and they have it set up for you to be able to stream from the TV’s in each room also.
We have a 5 and 6 year old and they enjoyed the cabin! We made s’mores, watched movies, visited many of the local waterfalls and explored in Cherokee. We cooked many meals at the cottage and always had breakfast and coffee there. It’s the perfect setting to get away and enjoy family time or perfect for a couple or 2 couples to go and enjoy the mountains!
We are looking forward to returning and are so glad we found this Gem in Franklin!

This is a beautiful property, inside and out with fantastic décor.
The location is very private, but only 3 to 4 miles of all the amenities of a small town (Grocery store, Lowes, restaurants including fast food). The location is very friendly to all type of excursions. We visited the Great Smokey Mountain Railroad, gem mining, local brewery, and waterfalls to name a few.
Only issue we had was the weather at this time of year, hot, humid and afternoon thunder storms. Next time I would recommend May to early June,
I recommend this property to everyone. The property owners are very reachable and receptive regarding any assistance or questions you may have.

Loved the cottage
The cottage was just as pictured. Check-in was easy. We spent 3 days relaxing and enjoying the birds, squirrels and resident chipmunk. Didn't want to leave.

It was clean and had a few kitchen items available which was nice(coffee, filters, a few seasonings, etc)
We were surprised to find the no central heat. This might be in the description and we missed it.

Amazing family getaway!
Wonderful cottage! Sharalea was extremely responsive and attentive. Comfy beds, everything clean, and well stocked. We very much enjoyed our stay. Downtown and surrounding areas were delightful.

Exactly as described. Very comfortable and clean. The only disappointment was the barking dogs next door which made it difficult to take a walk outside. Other than that, I would highly recommend.

The stone cottage was just what I needed to alleviate my stress. I was in Heaven!
Needed to get away from everything for a while and this place was very relaxing and just what I was looking for to unwind!

Great place
Very cute place with a lot of cute decor touches throughout the place. The location to things in the area was good for us as our primary goal was to do some hikes, rafting and zip lining and not be in a highly crowded, commercialized spot. We did some close hikes and took some gorgeous drives 40-60 minutes away to do other things.
The beds were comfortable and loved that there was a washer and dryer with detergent. Well stocked for paper items as well! Nice to have a grill with charcoal there to use. Loved bird watching too! Enjoyed the micro breweries in town and really good BBQ at Fat Buddies! The only 2 downfalls were possibly the neighbors dogs “business” wasn’t disposed of very well as for a few days it didn’t smell very nice outside. Not the cottage owners fault though. The other was the cleaning crew did well on the bigger, main areas but small details of corners could be vacuumed and dusted better. Other than that we would recommend this place!

Cottage retreat
this is a beautiful cabin that feels like its in the heart of the mountains, but is within 5 minutes of shops and restaurants. The owner left highly detailed instructions on all amenities of the cabin leaving us feeling well taken care of.

Love the Stone Cottege
The stone cottege was nice I very much enjoyed the property
The cabin was neat and clean. I loved the stone shower and clawfoot tub. The air conditions kept the bedrooms nice and cool. The wifi was great and worked flawlessly the entire time...I was even able to play Overwatch online on my Nintendo Switch & watch movies on my tablet at night. We definitly got use out of the fire pit outside and we got to see alot of wild life including many diffrent birds and squirrels, elk and even a black bear. The chair and couch in the living room are comfortable. And we liked having tvs in loving room and 2 bedrooms.
The the only downside is location.
Driveway is steep...it was only a problem because we was in a big vehicle..an Expedition. And as much as I like Franlkin not much to do there. And its a long drive over to other towns...especially over to Gatlinburg- Pigeon Forge...
I would highly recommend going to the Tiger Drive in over in Tiger, Geogia. Had a great time seeing the Raya And The Last Dragon & the New Cruella movie.
Overall love the Stone Cottege and would definitly reccomend it for anyone lookong to relax in the mountains.

Anniversary Trip
The cottage is super cute and rustic feel with the wood and stone interior nestled under the trees. It is super close to town and short drives to some amazing waterfalls, highlands, or the Blue Ridge Parkway! The neighborhood was really quiet and even though neighbors are close we never heard them. The place is super clean and was perfect for our anniversary trip! Jorge and Sharalea were great host and made sure we had everything we needed and instructions how to use the fireplace as well as great recommendations on places to eat! We had an amazing time and will definitely be back! Bonus the trees were absolutely amazing this year and perfect colors! We are so glad we caught peak of the leaves changing, it was phenomenal!
