We loved our stay here, the house itself is amazing with the huge windows! The kitchen is great, it has everything you would need, even a blender, mixer, and a griddle. Plenty of board games and books for the evenings. Full size washer/dryer for longer stays. It’s really so comfy. The wrap around patio was such a plus, we stayed in summer so you can move to the shady side at any given time, there’s furniture all the way around. No AC, but it’s cool enough even on summer nights to open the windows and get a good airflow through the house. We did have an incident with our dog hurting her leg on the spiral stair case right when we got there, she almost fell through the railing, the stairs are fairly steep and the railings have a 12” gap, luckily my 7 year old was coming up and caught her back half before she fell from up there. She was limping for a couple days but was better after some rest. So be careful with your pets if you bring them. All in all though this place is amazing!

This house was perfect for our family getaway. I loved the huge windows and wrap around deck that provided a great view of the outdoors. The spiral stairs were a little tricky for the dog, but he figured it out after the first day.

We had 3 adults and 2 dogs. This property was perfect. Our favorite feature was the wrap around deck and giant windows. It’s just a few minutes from town and very quiet and relaxing.

Nice clean home , loved the big windows .

The cabin is in a great location with a nice deck to enjoy the view of the beautiful trees. Unfortunately, this is NOT a dog friendly cabin. The 1st floor consist of two bedrooms and a bathroom. A SPIRAL staircase is the ONLY access to the 2nd floor where the kitchen, family room, deck, and master bedroom is located. I saw the picture of the spiral stair but I wrongly assumed a second traditional stair case existed off the deck that surrounds the entire cabin. My wife and I, in our 70’s, could not get our 10 year old lab up the spiral stairs until the next day when our son arrived. Also, upon our arrive, there was dog feces that had been stepped on the outdoor stairs leading to the front door. More dog feces

While the cabin has a lot of good things going for it - good mountain and forest views, big windows, wrap-around deck, it has a few comfort, repair and appearance issues that impact the overall stay experience.

I took 4 teens and our older dog to stay here for two nights. The cabin was easy to find and lovely. The rooms and bathrooms were nice as was the kitchen. I LOVED the wrap around porch! We were able to play games and have a fire in the cozy living room. It was a perfect escape.
I saw in other reviews that dogs struggled with the stairs, but we did not have that issue. I also saw on other reviews that the front stairs are difficult for some to navigate and I don’t think there’s a photo that really shows the walk from the car to the front door. I will say we were surprised at the steps as the cabin sits high above the road, but we didn’t find them to be an issue to climb. The views from the cabin, deck, fireplace, and grill outside were all very appreciated. Overall this was a great place for our group and we would definitely recommend it!

It’s a great place to stay with a group of people or younger family members. Beautiful views, great location. Little kids or older family members, not friendly. The stairs to the house are steep and slick. After those stairs you have a narrow, very vertical stair case to the the kitchen. Great property otherwise. Owner left a wonderful binder with seriously great information/instructions, we used it several times.

The cabin is a dream and has a good, cozy feel. Everything worked. The cabin was very clean, the layout is great, plenty of space. The zero plastic amenities was nice touch. We enjoyed the view to the mountain tops, trees surrounding the cabin, the deck with teak furniture, the quiet location, walking distance to trails, simply everything was so wonderful.

Close access to mountain trails as well as great food in town!

Good place for family. We were sad to be notified AFTER we booked that the main park to hike with kids was going to be closed during our stay; we felt that info should have been included in the property details for that timeframe. Otherwise property was pretty much as described.

This was an absolutely lovely stay. The house was clean, cozy, and beautifully decorated. The only caveat is there is a narrow spiral staircase to access the second floor where the kitchen and living room are. If there are people in your party that have difficulty accessing stairs, it might be a little difficult. This won’t be an issue for the majority of people. We loved our stay here and can’t wait to return!

Property was just as described. Within walking distance of several hiking trails. Very clean. Beautiful view from the spacious balcony. Minor issues were that a lot of the windows either don’t open or were very difficult to open/close and the spiral staircase was the only way to get to the main living space or outdoor balcony making it impossible for our dog to be on the same level as us. Overall, it was a great house that was very peaceful and relaxing

Homey and comfortable. The deck was awesome and my pup loved it as much as we did. Outdoor chairs and bbq were very nice! Views are awesome and house had everything we needed. Bring some cooking oil. There were a few spices that came in handy though. The fridge had an ice maker which was a plus! Beds were comfortable and couches also. AC didn’t seem to work but it was cool enough with the ceiling fan on and windows open. Would stay again!

This cabin had a cozy atmosphere and was very unique. It met our needs as a family of 5. We even had some sun while staying there.

I had to move out after one day due to the inhabitable living condition. The property was heavily infested with rodents. We discovered rodent droppings on several locations upon check in, i.e. the bathroom cabinet, the desk corner and the worst, the kitchen countertop !!!
The rodent activities were so severe we even heard the noise from the bedroom roof during the day! Furthermore, the refrigerator, one of the ceiling fans, and the microwave were not working. Some of the window handles were broken and cannot be opened. Despite of several service requests, the maintenance team did not even bother to come out. Vacasa was completely ignoring to our needs and kept us on hold for HOURS. None of the agents knew what they were doing and we were only told to wait for a call back. After a SIX HOURS wasting of our vacation time, Vacasa outrageously REJECTED our relocation request. We had to move out and Vacasa denied any refund or compensation. STAY AWAY if you don't want your vacation be ruined.

The cabin was great, and my party was excited to stay there. On my way up the mountain I got a call that one refrigerator was not working but the downstairs one was functional. We got there, stored all of our food in the downstairs fridge, only to find out next day that it was also not working. All of our meat for our bbq had gone bad. We called the maintenance line multiple times, left a message, emailed the host, and got no response until check out time. We had to go into town and buy coolers and ice to keep our food that hadn’t gone bad yet cold. It was a disaster and damper on our weekend.

Thank you for hosting us. We loved our stay at this beautiful cabin. The best part was the proximity to a few wonderful hiking trails that were in a walking distance from the cabin.
Thanks again. We’ll be back again.

A beautiful house in Idyllwild
Tucked away in the trees this is a beautiful house that is perfect for a long weekend stay. Suitable for 1 or 2 families with kids. Adults can play cards upstairs while the kids play downstairs. Across the road is a great hike and the town of Idyllwild is a short drive away.

Idyllwild Hiking Nest
We really enjoyed staying here. The three hiking trails we did were close by. The cabin is spacious and comfortable! A short drive into town. We recommend the Idyllwild Brewing Company and Idyllwild Pizza as two great eating spots.

Wow! Spectacular. We very much enjoyed the stay. The house was very clean and greeting.
Best rental ever!!!!!!! Can’t wait to rent this property again in the future!!!!!!

Charming clean well stocked. Forced air heating worked great, and plenty of hot water. Cons: VERY steep and unsafe steps from driveway to front door. Could be helped by installing a handrail. VERY steep and scary spiral staircase to main living area. Carrying everything and down almost made the stay not worth it. Finally NO CELL SERVICE. Yes there is Wi-Fi but none of us could actually make or take a call. Suggest property management install a landline for emergencies.

Wonderful location
8 of us had a great Friendsgiving at this house. The views were wonderful off the wraparound deck, the kitchen was spacious, and the fireplace was fun to play games around. The location has several hikes within walking distance and is far enough from town that you feel connected to nature. No cell service up there! I'm giving it 4 stars as the layout is not the best for a group of 8, and there was no extra bedding for the futon. We also weren't left any cleaning items (dishwasher soap, counter cleaner, etc.). Otherwise, it was a great stay and if it were a smaller group I would come back!

Great place for a stay in the woods!
We had a wonderful time at this house in the woods. We enjoyed the deck each day and the large fireplace each night. The kitchen was well equipped and we loved the option of grilling out as well. The beds are comfy and the property is well maintained. It was a short drive to town. We also took advantage of the great hiking that is right outside the door of this house. We had a great time and would definitely stay here again!

Well kept and clean lodge
It gets very hot in summer, so extra fans are required since no other way to cool. I appreciate owners arranging couple of fans when requested at such short notice. Kids had great time as well.
