Definitely coming back to CSM !
The property was like a home away from home. I loved all the little touches . Everything was done with great love. The location was perfect. Sara and Ara were so helpful. Chilled beverages waiting when we arrived. Parking was perfect. A brewery and Wine tasting a block away.
They even went all out to decorate for our Cal Poly Graduate. Balloons and chocolates and decorated donuts. It made it soooo special and much appreciated. Next time we will go for at least a week as four days was not enough to do everything we wanted too. It is a great location only 10 minutes to Whole foods , Trader Joes and Cal Poly and Friday night farmers market was a blast right in Avila.

Updated Design-Focused Cottage just 5 minute walk to the beach. Location is ideal to restaurants and stores on beachfront, no need to drive to eat if you don't wish. Make sure to eat at Custom House in patio and Ocean Grill (salmon/brussels sprouts awesome). We visited with our dog Brook, she was welcomed with dog bowls, etc., and her own supply of treats for the next 5 days. Front/backyard fenced to keep her safe from wondering.
Patio in front to do some people watching, patio outback for quiet time. Terraced backyard is given love and care; parking in front so no hassle to find a parking space.
Close to wineries: we enjoyed Kelsey Vineyard, Autry Cellers. Within a few miles, a must visit is Avila Valley Barn: farmland with goats, ponies, sheep, chickens; produce, country market goodies.

Charming, Immaculate Home by the Sea
We had a wonderful stay in Sara Elena, Ara, Nathalie and Jamie's historic cottage, which is beautifully decorated and has special little touches around every corner. Our family has been visiting Avila Beach since our kids were very little, but this was our first time staying in Casa San Miguelito. We loved it! It was so nice to be in a comfortable, cozy house rather than a hotel and we felt very welcomed (including our dog!). Plus, we had a place to store our surfboards, and they had all the other beach equipment we needed! Being steps away from fabulous restaurants, shops and a gorgeous, dog-friendly beach are what we love about the area.

Adorable, clean, and walk to the beach, shops, and restaurants!
We have never done this before so we were a little nervous. But once we pulled up to the house with such a warm welcome, we were so happy! We brought our son and our dog too! Sara had the red carpet rolled out for our dog Toby. Treats, water bowls, bed. The house was so cute! Very bright and had everything we needed! Towels, sand toys, chairs, and so much more! We spent four glorious days here. Everything was in walking distance! So convenient! We will definitely be going again to the fabulous CSM!!! I highly recommend you go too!!

DREAM BEACH HOME! Couldn’t have asked for more :)
I honestly don’t know where to begin. I am a nanny who booked this incredible beach home for a high profile family from LA. They wanted a family getaway that was unique and that’s exactly what they got! I spent WEEKS looking for the perfect beach house and was starting to panic when nothing looked good enough for them. The beach homes I was finding were far from the beach, or far from restaurants, or looked super rundown and tacky. God answered my prayers when I stumbled upon this beautiful safe haven. The interior design was so peaceful, cozy and welcoming. The location couldn’t have been better! Literally the shortest 1-2 blocks to the most stunning quiet beach, delicious restaurants, a park, aquarium, wineries, shopping and coffee/smoothie shops! I booked it instantly! Then Sara (Wonder Woman/ Ángel ) called me within thirty minutes of booking it and made sure I knew all I needed to know and wanted to know what we needed to make our stay extra special. It was mind blowing how personal and caring she was!
Throughout the trip Sara and Ara were not only the kindest owners ever, but they constantly made sure we had everything we needed! From toothbrushes, restaurant recommendations, boogie boards and fire pit necessities for s’more making :). Not to mention the sparkling lemonade and welcome basket with gourmet snacks!
The four kids (2 boys and 2 girls) ranging from 9-15 all had something to do! Their energy changed when we arrived there. It felt lighter and happier, we were blown away. It’s liberating being in such a quiet, sweet and safe town. During our stay we went ATV riding, saw a phenomenal show at The Great American Melodrama, went to Port San Luis, Avila Valley Barn, Bubblegum Alley, the San Luis Mission, and the beach of course! It’s rare all four kids enjoy the same activities but they all did!
I’m totally rambling in this review but I can’t put into words how magical and lovely this weekend getaway was! Something about this gorgeous home and Sara and Ara providing concierge service while treating us like we are family friends was just so special and unlike anything we’ve ever experienced! It’s like something you never knew you needed nor wanted until you’ve had it! ;)
If you are looking for a special or healing beach/weekend getaway for your family, BOOK it. I promise you won’t regret it! We can’t wait to come back and make it a tradition! You truly get what you pay for (and more) at Casa San Miguelito! :)

Charming beach cottage with amenities galore steps from Avila Beach- Perfect!
This is the best VRBO I've ever rented! The beach house is historic, charming, beautifully decorated and appointed with all the amenities you need for the perfect beach get away. The owners welcomed us with wine and dog treats for our fur baby. They have thought of everything: welcome snacks, beach chairs, umbrellas, sunscreen, lap blankets, comfy beds, well-stocked kitchen, fresh flowers, coupons for local dining and activities (just to name a few.) The backyard has a breathtaking wall of colorful nasturtiums and has adirondack chairs, a bar-b-que and fire pits for use. The front courtyard is fenced in with table, chairs and umbrella and more adirondacks for relaxing. The owners are unobtrusive (they live high above the cottage) but are available for you if needed. They even sent champagne over to us when they heard our daughter got engaged! A full-service concierge style rental - we will come back again! We love Avila Beach (our favorite things to do are golf, dog beach, bike rentals to ride the Bob Jones trail, Avila Barn for olallieberry pie and cider, fresh fish market on third pier, wine tasting, tri-tip tacos at Avila Market, coffee at Kracken, bocci ball on the beach.) Five star rating for our stay at Casa San Miguelito!

Unique and welcoming place to stay
Such a great find this place. Old original beach cottage wonderfully and carefully renovated by Sara and Ara who as well as being lovely people to deal with obviously take a huge amount of pride in their place. So many little touches really do make a huge difference. It's a 100 metres or so to a superb beach and was great having all the beach equipment and toys to borrow. Be there on a Friday afternoon to catch the farmers market. Will hopefully stay again one day.

Romantic Get-Away Perfection
My husband and I are not very outdoorsy people per se.. and to be honest, even tough we live in Los Angeles, we hardly ever visit the beaches. This is mostly in part because beaches in LA tend to be crowded. We were looking to go to a relaxing, quiet and beautiful beach town and Avila Beach was just that. We decided to stay in Casa San Miguelito because of its proximity to the beach. The beach is one block away. The hosts greeted us with an incredible bottle of Rose and shared their love for Avila beach. Everything was crisp, clean and fresh for us. Did I mention the delicious wine? They recommended a wine shop down the block called Alapay. We bought a case of their champagne to bring home. Everything about this place was wonderful. My husband and I had the best of time here. I took a hot bath sipping on my wine, while my husband and sat on the terrace writing taking in the sun. Just writing this review makes me go back. Will recommend Casa Miguelito to anyone and will stay here again. This is the most romantic little beach cottage ever.

Magical
This magical location seemed like a short drive from Los Angeles. The whole Central Coast was lovely and especially verdant after all the rain this year. This was not our first visit to Avila Beach, but it was our first time staying in this community. So much nicer than Pismo or even Morro Bay. We were warmly welcomed by the lovely proprietors, Sara and Ara. They are such genuine and caring people; they did whatever they could to make our stay comfortable and enjoyable. Casa San Miguelito is a charming home, and had all the amenities we could ask for. We were encouraged to bring our 2 dogs. Bowls, leashes etc. were provided. The dogs especially enjoyed the sun room and back garden with "Machu Picchu." We were able to easily walk to the beach/bay where there were plenty of choices for dining. We ate a lot of very good fresh fish, and all the restaurants personally knew Sara and Ara, and treated us as special guests. One restaurant on the pier had windows looking into the water from the tables, so that we could see birds and sea lions while eating. We were only able to stay a few days but it felt like a week. We also drove a few miles up to Morro Bay to see otters and various birds. The hiking along the San Luis creek was very nice as well.
Can't wait to go back!!

You can feel the love
We had such a relaxing and cozy visit at Casa San Miguelito ("CSM"). Sara and Ara really have infused love into every inch of this cute beach cottage. It's impeccably decorated, and you can tell that Sara is passionate about making her guests feel right at home. Comfy beds, bathroom fully stocked with toiletries, and - maybe it sounds funny, but I fell in LOVE with the blow dryer. The cottage is a hop, skip, and a jump to the beach, and the locals are so welcoming and mellow. We had a great time exploring the beach (there are even towels and beach chairs waiting to be used just inside the door of the cottage!), and the folks at Hula Hut spent well over a half hour shooting the breeze with us and passing us samples of ice cream to taste. (This was quite a highlight for our 10 year old daughter). Ocean Grill was a show stopper - exquisite food, such warm and attentive service, a romantic location with a beautiful view. And everything within easy walking distance. We will be back to CSM! That is, if we can find an open slot in their booking schedule...It's quite a find!

"Spectacular Beach Retreat"
If there is a place to stay in Avila Beach, this is it. We have had 4 stays at this charming, clean and comfortable 2 bedroom house with all the convenient amenities of a full kitchen, front living space, glass sun room dining area and exquisitely beautiful bathroom with complimentary toiletries. There is also a cozy outside area to lounge and relax. You are within walking distance of the beach and pier which includes shops, restaurants and wineries. Sara and Ara the innkeepers are extraordinarily warm and welcoming. The both of them and what I consider the best beach retreat in Central Coast, is the reason we stay here when we are in town.

Beautiful Rental, Exceptional Service and Ammenities
Absolutely enjoyed our 2 stays. The house is nestleled in this charming and quaint town where the beach, shops and restaurants are all within a short walking distance. We are a family with 2 kids (ages 12 and 7), the house suits us perfectly. The house is not only exqusitely decorated but also exceptionally clean. The beds are extremely comfortable. The front living space is very cozy. There is free wi-fi. The glass sun room dining area is absolutely wonderful. There are also cozy areas outside the house to relax and socialize. The owners are very warm, wonderful and friendly hosts. We will definately stay here again and highly recommend.

Perfect location, excellent amenities, caring hosts
My husband and I and two children (ages 6 and 9) love Avila and make it our summer getaway every year. We usually stay at the Lighthouse Suites but decided this time to rent a house instead. We were so delighted to have found that Casa San Miguelito was available. Our car rarely moved from its parking space because the property is a short walk to restaurants, bicycle rental shop, and the BEACH! We were warmly welcomed by the owners Sara and Ara. The property is clean, beautifully decorated and has almost everything you need for a relaxing beach vacation (beach towels, umbrellas, chairs and even boogie boards to use!). It's like Sara and Ara thought of every detail that would make our stay fun and relaxing. We are already planning our return and hoping Casa San Miguelito will be available.

A Home Away From Home
Our family, 2 little girls and our dog Luther, just spent an amazing weekend at this beautiful beach cottage in Avila Beach. The moment we arrived, Sara and Ara made us feel at home. From helping us unload our car to helping us get situated and comfortable. The house is perfectly situated in Avila Bead ch. Only two blocks away from the beach and Sara and Ara provide everything you need to spend the day at the beach. You are walking distance to restaurants, shops and amazing wine tasting. Our girls and Luther loved spending time outside in the front and back patio. I would highly recommend booking this home and we can't wait to go back.
