Our family had a great time in Bruce.
The property was clean and warm and welcoming. Plenty of room for family and teen boys! The game room was a hit and we also liked the massage chair.
4.8
The kitchen dishes were not clean and we had to clean dishes and small appliances before use . Shower curtains had mildew. No instructions for dishwasher that was complicated. Caretakers who checked us in did not give instructions about how to run the air conditioning system and we had to have calls with the owner. Written instructions would have helped. The screen porch was dirty. Frig had to be wiped out to use. Home was outdated and needed repair. We did appreciate all the beds for a large group and the hot tub was great!

Great location / awesome outdoor areas!

House has so much space. Can handle big groups easily. So many fun spaces in this house.

This is our second time staying at this property. Our favorite things: huge dining table, 7 person hot tub, massage chair, lots of space (great if you need a little alone time), game room down stairs, fire pit, great hiking trails. Planning to return again next year.

Everyone from 3 years old up to 67 had a great time relaxing at the house and enjoyed kayaking, canoeing, swimming, and fishing in the lake. We would highly recommend staying here. Plenty of room for large gatherings and lots to do in the basement too.
4.8
We enjoyed all the amenities of the property. We had lots of golf cart rides and played yard games. The hot tub was great. The house was very spacious since there were 16 of us and there was plenty of room. Everyone enjoy the game room and big screen TV. The screened in porch was great. We had plenty of area for visiting and relaxing! The only downside was the lake and the mosquitoes. There was a nice beach and park in Ladysmith which is a short drive away.

The basement game room was a big hit with our family as well as riding around on the golf carts exploring the property. The big table in the enormous kitchen space was perfect for playing group games and allowing for us to eat together family style. Other favorites were the massage chair and the screen porch. It was so pleasant to listen to the birds, feel the breeze and watch deer grazing in the distance from the porch. Great place!

The game room in the basement was the highlight of the stay for everyone! We had pool tournaments, played foosball, chess, darts and other games! There’s even a huge tv. The kitchen is huge and well stocked. The upstairs bedrooms were comfortable with plenty of room for everyone. The upstairs bathroom has a shower only and the downstairs bathroom has a tub/shower, but both bathrooms are big with plenty of storage and towels. We didn’t use the fire pit but it looked really nice with a grate for cooking on.

Wonderful property, lots of nature, nice trails, hot tub was great, must rent the golf carts they are a blast!

My family and our goldendoodle had a blast! Though Winter Storm Elliot delayed our arrival and kept us mostly indoors we had a wonderful Christmas at this property. The cabin had ample sleeping space for 7 adults (2 couples, 3 singles) and our dog. The kitchen was spacious and handled our cooking needs. The hot tub gave us a chance to recharge and relax, despite the teeth chattering cold air around us! The hosts and caretakers were awesome communicators and made our trip easy, accommodating several special requests we had.

We used this property as a college friend reunion. It had all the space and everything we could need! The hot tub and the golf cart were an awesome bonus. We had a great time using the water crafts and swimming around the platform in the lake. We absolutely fell in love with the town of Bruce and can’t wait to come back!

Huge house with lots to do. We used the big kitchen to cook big group meals. The game room and hot tub were fan favorites. We will be back next year!

This property was perfect for our group! We made use of the canoe and kayak. The trails were great fun for the golf cart we brought along as well as for hiking. Spent evenings relaxing around fire pit and in brand new seven person hot tub!! Game room downstairs was great fun and the TV perfect for football and you tube yoga. Huge, well stocked kitchen and large dining table. Massage chair got a lot of use. Place was nice and clean and comfortable. Will stay again.

It was nicer than listed in many ways: the kitchen was really nice, the bathrooms were really big, huge closets, and a basketball hoop by the driveway. It also has a nice open space on the main level. Really has about 4 bedrooms and an extra living area with a TV that has a photon in it.
This place is cool because it has lots of big spaces to hang out in, but also has plenty of nooks and crannies to find some personal space.
Lots of nice trails, a super nice game room (although the pool table was not level, we stuck some cardboard under to get it a little better), and a really neat screened in porch.
I would recommend this place for sure.

Great Property
This is a great property for large groups. Lots of room, and activities to do on the property. We rented this place for our annual grouse hunting trip. You can't hunt on the property, but there are plenty of places to go around the property. I highly recommend this property.

Family members from 2-67 yrs spent the better part of a week in this property. The property itself is huge - common and sleeping spaces allowed room for all as well as privacy at night. Both bathrooms are large - note there is one tub for the littles. Hot tub (must access through wood splitting lean-to) and golf cart were a treat. Riding around on the trails was fun for all. Kitchen is well stocked and HUGE table allowed for all to sit together. Kayak/canoe were nice to have - note that body of water is very small and some distance away.
* Basement was under construction (we were not aware prior to arrival) and we did not use. Was rearranged as best possible by the contractor but smelled damp/musty.
*Screened in porch was nice to have as mosquitos are thick.
We also visited Bass Lake for tubing, Memorial Park in Ladysmith for beach/play ground, Devil's Kettle, and Gene's 'junque' shop.
We left here with mixed feelings. While it accommodated us well and we're grateful for time spent together the property needs updating and a very thorough deep clean - cob webs, lights with bugs, ceiling fans, siding, space immediately surrounding the house.

We really enjoyed the golf cart, the trails, the large open area, fire pit, hot tub, massage chair, the game room, large dining table, screened in porch, and all the rooms, the Wi-fi. And the caretaker was great!
Negatives were that there are only 2 bathrooms (we had 10 people, and it can sleep 16), the several areas of the yard that are constantly wet and muddy from hoses pumping water from the house basement area?, the basement floor seemed damp or moist and there were no rugs down as shown in the pictures, the refrigerator interior had to be cleaned before we could put food into it, kitchen items inventory needs to be checked (there was only one dish cloth and one dish towel and no dishwasher soap and minimal bathroom soap), the lake is not very close at all, and you can't swim at all in the water next to the dock. No pontoon use was possible, and we ended up going to Cameron, a half hour away, to rent a pontoon for a day on a lake there.
There are so many things that we really liked, but several important things that aren't available. Overall, we're glad we went. Undecided for next year.

My adult children and their spouses, 4 kids 3 and under stayed for the week. Large house, very spacious. Comfy beds and furniture. Rented the golf cart which was fun on all the miles of trails in the woods. Most trails not marked ( easy to get lost). Game room in basement is great, but under construction (wasn't informed prior to visit). Private lake not for toddlers as the only good swimming was if you go out to the middle on the swimming dock. Nice beach about 15-20 minutes away. Place was overall clean and welcoming. Could use some "deep" cleaning .

This was a perfect place for a large group to hang out all weekend, relax, and just enjoy each other. The water sports were great, the game room was wonderful, lots of space indoors and out. Excellent property! Thank you for an amazing time!

We had a great multi-family vacation this past long weekend! Lots of space for 12 people (6 adults, 6 teens) and 3 dogs. The house is beautiful and there was space for us all to eat and hang out together, or be separate. The kids loved the game room and we spent a lot of time together in the main area. The hot tub was a favorite and we used the fire pit a few times. There's also a really cool massage chair that was used every day. The kitchen is well supplied with basic necessities (spices, coffee filters, etc.) and just about every cooking utensil you could need, including a rice cooker and waffle maker! (Both of which we used.)
The bugs were bad, especially ticks, so bring good quality bug spray and make sure you check for ticks when coming inside. The dock is a bit of a walk (not too far, but buggy and hot) and we loved renting the golf cart. (I'd recommend it.) It was also great for exploring. The canoe, kayak and paddle board were well used. The area right by the dock is not suitable for swimming (too many lily pads, muck and general vegetation), even with water shoes, so you need to plan to get yourself to the raft for swimming. We were able to paddle out on some inflatables we brought, in addition to the supplied water craft. The pontoon boat wasn't available, but I think I'd rent that next time for ease of water enjoyment.
It was hot and sunny for our trip, but there would have been lots to do even if it had rained.
The caretaker and owners are very responsive and helpful. Any minor issues we had were taken care of quickly.
Overall I wish the water area was closer to the house and cleaner, and that there were fewer bugs, but it was a great vacation and the house itself is wonderful.

Was exactly what we were looking for in our winter get-away. We had all age groups (7 -65 yr old) here and we were not disappointed! The game room, hot tub, wood fire stove, the wifi, massage chair and space for all was exactly what our group of 13 needed. We spent the day at Christie mountain skiing/tubing, then came back and were able to keep entertained each eve. Will definitely be looking to book again next year.

My friends and I had a great winter weekend at Pine Trails! The kitchen table was huge and great for gatherings, and we utilized the game room and all the activites it had to offer. The cabin itself is older but charming and lots of space and extra futons for sleeping. We walked down to the lake but unfortunately didn't use the hot tub or firepit due to the sub-zero temperatures. The only downsize was a clog in the sink where a plumber needed to come during our stay, however this wasn't a big inconvenience. The property manager was helpful with handling this and was quick to reply to my texts. Would love to come back in the summer! Thank you!

My friends and I celebrated Friendsgiving at the pine trails lodge; the property was clean, spacious, and the absolute perfect place to host a mid-size gathering. The kitchen and living rooms were great places for conversation, while the bedrooms had incredibly comfortable mattresses and futons. I would recommend the house (and the great hot tub/trails outside of the property) to anyone looking to have a group getaway.

With covid making it impossible to do anything for our daughter's 7th birthday, we had the last minute idea to try to arrange a weekend getaway. The owners and manager of this property were always quick to respond and incredibly helpful.
Upon arrival, we found the house to be clean, spacious and well equipped. An especially nice touch was the wood burning stove was already prepared for use - we merely had to light it.
We took advantage of the golf cart and had fun exploring the property by day and using the hot tub at night.
It was a lovely weekend away and would love to go again in the summer to enjoy the lake or even in the winter to experience the property in the snow.
